What a great day great place great food best possible I've ever had by far

Some of the best we've had the people are great it I would definitely come back to San Francisco to come back to this place and I can't come without Debi

Wish this place is close to my home. Such a charming place. Very small place but food is excellent. Not many choices but everything is delicious. Highly recommended.

    Amtriciana

I really wanted to like this place because of the raving reviews, but my pasta was really overcooked and tasted like a microwavable pasta. I got the amatriciana and would highly not recommend. The service was very backed up as well and I had to ask to order, get the check (twice). I could've looked past the service, but the food was disappointing for $24 with a small portion.

I've only been to Italy once and I've been thinking about how godlike the food is ever since. And eating here, literally, flooded my brain of memories that I've been chasing for. The food is very rich in authenticity and crafted with such care. I recommend the fried zucchini antipasta (appetizer). So good, and it comes with sweet red bell peppers with like cheese inside it. Oh my lanta. Y'all might get triggered about the wait for the food but depending what you want takes time to make. So wait because it's worth it. The vibe at least we went was low key. My wife and I love going to Bella Trattoria, but we now found another Italian spot where the vibe is more calm. It's like a quiet coffee shop vibe where you go to have a nice glass of wine and eat good pasta after a long hard day/week at work. I got the vodka cheese pasta I forgot the name and puttin disrespect on the name but it wen very well with the red wine, I think the Lincongiello. Something like that. Will definitely be back.

This place feels a little bit like a Twilight Zone. Just something about the service and the menus was a little off. We did get a great table right by the window. We received 2 menus that had about 85% overlap of VERY similar dishes. When we asked about it - the guy wasn't very clear, but kinda said the one menu was a newer version and we could order off the new one - OR the old one (which had a few extra dishes) - That they were kinda working on fixing and creating an even newer menu to include everything. But even so, the entrees on both that kinda sounded the same didn't have the same description (leaving out important facts, like a beet flavored pasta on one for instance). It took a bit to get the real story from the server...just weird, give me one menu with everything offered (and maybe an extra with only specials) We ordered the Cesar salad to split - it came in a bowl, but he gave us TEENY little bread plates to each get out halves on there. WAY too small a plate - it was small for a bread plate. Anyway the salad was okay - a but under-dressed. My man and I each got a pasta, I got the one with the prosciutto and he got the one with the tellegio cheese. We each had bites of each others, and you know what was the best? It was mixing a bite of each together. I tell you this too - the service was S-L-O-W. I didn't mind it one bit, but if you like to "giddy-up" with ordering and being served, this is NOT the place to go. I am happy I tried this place, but prefer a place like Jackson Fillmore for my local neighborhood pasta needs.

The food is delicious and so fresh. I got the gnocchi and the burrata & prosciutto appetizer. The space is very small and intimate; but don't worry, it's not overly hot. It can be a little claustrophobic initially. Our dishes took a long time to get to the table but it is worth the wait.

The food is excellent, the "Un, Deux, Trois" (egg, pancake/French toast and bacon or sausage) is my go-to breakfast, along with a big bowl with a latte or "un chocolat". Lunch and dinner menus change seasonally, but the salads/ veggies are always super fresh, and along with pastas, they always have tempting meat, poultry and fish dishes. Their desserts are consistently fantastic. I lived in Paris after college, and Zazie (based on the film, Zazie Dans Le Metro) is absolutely, authentically French. The French mom I worked for is the only person I know who did this dish better. So, whenever I find it on the menu, I order their Rabbit Stew. It's simply divine. I keep returning for the food, but honestly, the service and atmosphere are equally top-notch. The best kept "secret" is they have Monday evenings reserved for dogs on the back patio. There's usually a special on wine, and they have doggie treats! You have to experience it to believe it. Honestly, you could easily be in a quaint French village bistro, surrounded by all the townspeople, and their canine companions, big and small. It's the best. Zazie is literally one of my all-time favorite places in the world for breakfast/brunch, equally fabulous for a French date night, or special place to treat "out of towners". But my all-time favorite is the Monday Dog Nights!! My husband and I took my Italian Greyhound here many, many times. Jack McCoy gives it "2 Dew Claws Up". A classic.

The Ice Cream Bar is popular, so prepare for a wait since they take the time and care to make your order. It's located on a nice block with street parking, but it's also a busy area in general and probably easier to walk to. They have menus and a small seating area outside. Inside is a great throwback to 30s/40s art decor style, with the main ice cream counter to the right and the actual bar at the back. They have different ice creams available by the scoop in a cold dish, or opt for a made-daily waffle cone. They have classic toppings as well. Once you order, you pay towards the back. The bar area itself offers alcohol, perfect for a Guinness float or to add a little something extra to a milkshake or sundae. Prices are reasonable for the quality. The servers were so welcoming and eager to please with special requests as well. If you're an ice cream fan, this one is worth coming to enjoy.

Upon looking at the menu I was "in" for the SF vibe of the food offerings. Below is what we ate and our rating of the food: Me - smoked salmon on toast w/ baby pickles, capers, and spread. Oh-em-gee-times-ten....I was either REALLY hungry or the dish was THAT good! (it was that good!). The serving was generous and satisfying and was accompanied with salad greens tossed in a vinaigrette dressing. I am salivating as I write this. Son - breakfast burrito. He liked it. It was simple: scrambled eggs, bacon in a spinach tortilla. His young age did not help his appreciation of a green tortilla, so.....he only ate half Daughter - granola, fruit, yogurt parfait. She demolished it and enjoyed every bite. And, even carried her leftovers with her (all day, might I add) and ate them for breakfast in the hotel the next morning. To supplement their meals I ordered a side of toast and roasted potatoes. We ate with gusto! My cappuccino (which I only seem to order when I'm in San Francisco) was delicious and gave me enough energy to walk those hills with ease. This place is a hidden gem with a very sweet staff that took good care of us. More pictures to come.

My party of four came without a reservation, so we were seated along the wall against a small countertop area. It wasn't the most comfortable setting for a group hangout. I'd recommend making a reservation in advance. Space is a bit small so seating is limited. Ambiance is a vibe though. Cute and chic little wine bar in a central location. Between the four of us, we ordered the bread/butter, ceviche, Dungeness crab garlic noodles, and the Wagyu dog to share. We also got a bottle of their Lambrusco. The stars of the show were definitely the wine and the garlic noodles. I wouldn't recommend sharing the Wagyu dog as it got a bit messy. Everything was definitely overpriced, and portions were small. We had to order takeout from another restaurant afterwards to satiate our hunger lol. I'm glad I tried this spot but would only recommend stopping by if you're not very hungry or are just looking for some small snacks before an actual dinner.
