    penne and pomegranate martini

came for their early bird dinner special ($25 for 3 courses). service was excellent, very friendly and accommodating. I requested the penne without chicken and they suggested they could add asparagus to it. it was a nice touch adding more veggies into the pasta and it ended up tasting delicious. i also ordered the caesar salad and it was very well dressed and a nice size portion. for dessert i had the blackberry sorbet and i enjoyed it as well! i ordered the pomegranate martini and it was tart and a little sweet. ambiance was cozy and the noise level was fairly quiet (although there were only a few tables filled on a wednesday at 4:30). would definitely come back again for great service and delicious food!

Came here for a birthday dinner. Food was great overall and service was amazing. They also kindly gave us free cheesecake for the birthday celebration! Truffle fries: A- Bouillabaisse: B Sticky toffee pudding: A Cheesecake: B+ Standout for me was the sticky toffee pudding. Also tried some of their short rib and that is what I would order for myself next time.

So i wanted to try this place as they had a prefix meal for $25. Its Monday thru Friday from 4:30-5:30 only. You get a salad, entrée, and Gelato. That's a great deal anywhere in the city. I had their Caesar Salad and my husband got their Mista Salad. Both were yummy. For dinner i penne with chicken which was delicious and just the right portion. My husband had grilled salmon. He really enjoyed it. Then for dessert we had dark chocolate Gelato and sea salt caramel Gelato. Both were incredible. This place was yummy and the service was great as well. Its in a quiet area too. I look forward to coming back again.

Tony, Talip, and all the staff...woo hoo! Midday lunch with 19 of us, these guys were fantastic!!! Celebrating graduation with our CCSF Nursing students. The place was accommodating (make ressy), full house, food great selection and delish! First time here and wont be the last! Thank you crew at Bistro Central Parc and congratulations students!

My husband and I had such a great dinner here recently that we had to bring our daughter back for her birthday. Once again, the food was so delicious and the service was great. We're just visiting, but if I lived here I would go to this restaurant on a regular basis and try everything on the menu. Eat here!!!!

The front door is very heavy to open, but they are open! There's both indoor and outdoor seating (the latter which we used because we brought a dog), and some of the outdoor seating is in a shelter with walls which was good for fighting against the wind. The tables are far enough apart that you can easily have conversation. They immediately gave our dog a water bowl, which we appreciated. All the staff were so friendly and kind! We definitely felt taken care of despite being outside. We got the Burrata and the Bistro Salad to share, and I got the Chicken Marsala as my entree. I also got an Aperol Spritz. For dessert, we got the Sticky Toffee Bread Pudding, and, as a surprise, they gave me a piece of cheesecake with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate! So delightful and caring. Burrata: 4/5, very generous portion of burrata and delightful combination with pistachios! There was a lot of jam and not a lot of bread, but it was all good. Bistro Salad: 3/5, thankful they accommodated my request to have walnuts on the side! Nothing super exceptional but not bad. Aperol Spritz: 3/5, very standard drink though maybe a bit diluted to err on the side of caution concerning the bitter flavor of the Aperol. Chicken Marsala: 5/5, tender chicken with a generous amount of mushrooms! The mashed potatoes were great in texture and buttery in flavor, and the asparagus was nicely cooked. Sticky Toffee Bread Pudding: 4/5, a great warm flavor and the vanilla ice cream was a good creamy balance. The tart berries also helped cut through the sweetness. Birthday Cheesecake: 5/5, very kind of them to give! It was also creamy and delicious, and loved the berries. Overall, wonderful service and a great time. I definitely want to try their Early Bird special, it looks great!

3.5/5 Came here for date night and took advantage of the early bird special. The three course meal for $25 is a great deal and well worth it. We started with the Caesar salad and the Bistro salad. Both were really good, and I am not usually a salad person, but the touch of honey in the Bistro salad was the standout. It had a nice sweetness and was very enjoyable. For mains, we ordered the chicken marsala and the black pepper fettuccine. The fettuccine was just okay and not my favorite, but the chicken marsala was very tasty. The sauce was flavorful and something I would order again. We finished with gelato. It was fairly typical, but a nice way to end the meal. The atmosphere is mostly dark and pretty, which works well for a date night, but the super bright TVs at the bar playing sports felt out of place. It was a bit of a weird vibe to have an elegant setting mixed with a sports bar feel. The biggest downside was the service, which felt rushed and lacked attention. We sat down before 5:30, but since it was close to the cutoff for the early bird special, the waiter asked us multiple times what time it was to confirm. That interaction threw me off. After already saying we were ordering the special and still being within the time limit, it felt unnecessary and awkward. Overall, the food was solid and the early bird deal offers great value. I would come back, but only for the special.

I normally don't like or crave crab cakes but the crab cakes appetizer here is absolutely delicious! Sometimes I don't even care for the entrees because all I wanted was the crab cakes haha! The truffle ravioli pasta is amazing and I've come back for this dish twice in a month. My boyfriend's dad is a picky cook who criticizes food heavily and we're always on the hunt to find a place he'll enjoy and have even he liked the food here! The service is subpar unfortunately. We have arrived with reservations and made to wait over half an hour. Once we arrived with reservations and we were asked if we wanted to wait outside??? or at the bar and they seemed really inconvenienced that we would choose to wait at the bar on a cold winter SF evening. On another occasion, they forgot to give us menus for over 25 minutes after seating us then came to ask us for our orders despite seeing we had no menus. We did try getting any waiters attention to ask for menus during that time span and could not get anyone's attention. The lightning is beautifully designed, romantically dim and it glitters across the ceiling. Perfect to bring a date here. However don't let the service sway you from coming here to enjoy the tasty food! I still would come here again because the food is that good.

Since my original post I've been back to this restaurant for my birthday, regular Sunday dinner, and other friend's birthdays. I'm constantly recommending this restaurant to friends and colleagues. The servers are amazing and they make room for all sorts of requests. On my birthday last year my sister did a whole red table set up with candles and flowers. It was an addition to the already beautiful space provided. This restaurant is comfortable, familiar, aesthetically pleasing, affordable, and tasty. It's laden with children's laughter, happy birthday songs, anniversary dates, first dates, and simple evening dinners. It's a place deserving of multiple returns. ** They also increased the size of the seafood pasta lol!

Located on a…read morestreet corner with no signage, you'd be surprised to find such a fine restaurant with such little exterior flare. The inside of the restaurant is charming, with plentiful bar seating to watch as dishes are prepared in front of you in an open kitchen. The menu itself is constantly evolving and may be different with every visit. That being said, the main menu is a prix fixe 4-course meal with the option to add on 2-3 additional dishes to share. The meal starts with a amuse-bouche, generally a cold soup. For us it was a chilled golden beet soup, which tasted a bit like a nice, creamy sweet corn. One of the add-ons was the pâté de campagne, a blend of pork and fatty liver. Paired with a dijon mustard and fresh sourdough bread, it was surprisingly elevated for such a simple dish. Next were a pair of fish dishes that were the highlights of the meal, including sierra mackerel with fennel and peach, and monkfish and smoked butter. The monkfish was a particular standout as it was coated with a dill sauce, and complimented with the sweetness of diced rhubarb and earthiness of hazelnuts. The monkfish featured a smoky and lightly spiced flavor. The dish was extremely well-balanced and paired sweet, savory, sour, spicy, and smoky to a tee. Really excellent. The octopus and yukon potato was an add-on - the octopus was extremely tender, not rubbery at all, and the potatoes were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and soft like a mashed potato on the inside. The meal ended with a hanger steak which was solid, but compared to the other dishes, less extravagant. The dessert featured a rose sorbet, with milk foam and strawberries. As a whole, Mijoté dishes are simple, layered and extremely satisfying to eat. While presentationally may not blow you away, the taste will leave you feeling satisfied. The blend of French and Japanese culinary tradition and cuisine, Mijoté is comforting, elevated, and balanced. Very rare to find fine-dining that tastes so great while also feeling homey at the same time. If in SF, absolutely worth a visit.

Someone in our party booked this and I remembered coming here a couple of years ago and wondered why I hadn't come back yet. Lovely neighborhood bistro that's charming atmosphere with a classic feel and attentive service. We enjoyed the variety of tasty French dishes available daily and a few specials. We started with an order of crispy pommes frites and their special crab puff pastry. Both were nice starters. Then we followed that with Bijou Goat Cheese salad. They also had a nice wine list and we selected a good Napa cabernet sauvignon. For entrees, I had the Chilean sea bass that was breaded nicely and cooked perfectly tender over a bed of mashed potatoes and greens. The others in my party had the rack of lamb, duck confit and special entree of pan seared dayboat scallops and risotto. All dishes were solid but probably the best were the rack of lamb and seabass. For dessert, we shared the creme rules and chocolate fondant cake and I had a decaf latte, too. Both desserts were nice and rich but creme brulee was especially smooth and creamy. We were all full to the max! We left happy and I was glad we came back here for an early Mother's Day dinner!

With most non-main dishes around $15, it's a great way to slowly snack the afternoon away. French Onion Soup: Packed full of flavor! They put a lot of care into the cooking the onions, since they were nicely caramelized. This helped the soup flavor profile. With the soaked bread and cheese on top, it was quite a hearty soup. Beef Tartar: It seemed like the meat was diced small by hand, not mechanically processed into ground beef, which is how it should be. It came to the table pre-mixed except for the quail egg on top. The flavor had a nice a Dijon mustard tang. The portion of crispy crostini was just right for the amount of meat (many places short change you on that). Roasted Bone Marrow: Looks primal, with one large bone cut cross sectionally and charred on top. They added some Dijon mustard and breadcrumbs before the broiling, which really enhanced the experience. A little goes a long way with this intense marrow spread of crostini. Escargot: Traditional preparation, but I was pleasantly surprised that they added double escargot in every buttery hole. At first I thought it was a mistake, but then realize it was by design as every hole was filled that way. Such a nice treat. Duck Confit Croquettes: Three crispy dense balls with lots of shreds of duck inside. Plus a very pleasant presentation of sauce and pistachios on top. While I liked all the flavors and textures, I wasn't a fan of the fact that inside duck was chilled. Wish the whole ball was warm. Strawberry Fruit Crumble: Not what I was expecting for a crumble. Was more like buttery cookie crumbled on top, but it actually worked. The real star were the fresh strawberries in three forms: diced, sauce and ice cream. So delicious!

We had the beef tartare, glazed oysters, roast lobster, rosemary crusted tuna, and seared filet of beef, everything was delicious. The cheese platter was also a nice part of the experience, although I'm not a huge cheese person so I probably didn't appreciate it as much as others would. For dessert, we tried the baked chocolate soufflé and the French toast dessert, and the soufflé was definitely the better choice. Overall, such a fun and memorable dining experience with great food and service. I would definitely come back again.

I can see this restaurant was stellar 25 years ago, and that it has not elevated with the times…read more There's a restaurant called Charleston in Baltimore that has a similar concept of menu. Pay one price, order any combination of things. I would say that Charleston does it much better by including dessert for free. It is hard to justify wasting a full order on dessert. In addition, the food at Charleston just tastes way way better. The food was consistent, quite good but very very safe. Salt was generally lacking, which was very noticeable on two dishes- one, the branzino, while cooked perfectly, had absolutely no salt, relying instead on a very mild citrus sauce. Could have been excellent had they seasoned the fish. The filet was same, I finally caved and asked for salt on the side, and then I did enjoy it. The oysters were good but pretty basic.. tuna was fine. The lobster was a good lobster. Nothing exciting, but solid meal. I sat at the bar and the service was a bit lacking. For one, I was literally never asked how I was enjoying my meal? They came and went with dishes, and no engagement. Very odd. Near the end, I craved a palette cleaner, so I asked would they possibly bring me a tiny scoop of sorbet. They said, sure, and promptly charged me $12. Was it unreasonable? No, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Part of the joy of going to very nice places is that small requests can be accommodated without being nickel and dimed. Anyway I am glad I tried it. SF has many many better options.
