I live in New Jersey but my daughter lives in New Smyrna Beach, as does my best friend. This place was recommended to me 2 years ago while visiting. Every time I am in town I eat here at least 2 times, if not more. Amazing space, positive and happy employees, amazing service. My most recent visit was 5/24/26. Our server was Kaley and what a doll! On her game the entire time we were dining. We had great conversations with her and she was professional and attentive. She recognized us from prior visits and acknowledged that, which is a sign of true professionalism. The food is always enjoyable. I had a lobster roll on this day and it was great. Will always come here while in New Smyrna Beach. As a matter of fact, my daughter will be celebrating a huge life moment here at the end of June, her choice. Visited on an early Thursday evening and this place was busy with an hour wait. I'm not sure if this is the typical wait because there was an event happening on the street. We sat at the outdoor bar ordered some happy hour drinks which they offer $5 margaritas and $6 house wines all day, every day. Nick was extremely tentative and even provided us with waters without us having to request it. The $6 wine pours come in a large sized glass and the size pour was decent! Once seated at our table we were served by Bri and she made some good recommendations. For apps we had the Cuban candy as an app and it was a huge hit at our table. On Thursdays they do a "prime rib special" which isn't really a special as far as pricing instead it is more so a special that is offered only on Thursdays for $44. 2 people from my party ordered it and they were satisfied. I ordered the chimichurri chicken sandwich which is a new menu item. The portion size of the chicken was good, however, the chimichurri / sauce seemed to lack. Also I wasn't a huge fan of their house sweet potato chips, they weren't bad, they were just okay, however, I would opt to have French fries next time. As far as ambiance, the inside is quite small which I got worried about sound and talking amongst my party but that wasn't an issue. Exceptional experience. We loved the food and Sara killed it in the service department. We ate the Mahi Mahi sandwich and the chili. Both were really good. For drinks we all ordered margaritas I tried the mango and strawberry, the mango was my favorite but both were really good. For entrées three of us got the corkscrew pasta 10/10, Shrimp Poboy 8//10, Cobb salad 10/10 the service and our server was excellent. We visited on a Thursday at 4:30 PM and the ambiance was great, very cozy and inviting. We were also seated quickly which was a nice start. The food was AMAZING. I ordered Mom's Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich, and it was perfectly crispy and flavorful without being dry or overcooked. My mom thoroughly enjoyed her Prime Rib French Dip as well. The kitchen really knows what they're doing! The only reason I'm taking off stars is the incredibly slow service. We found ourselves having to track our server down several times, and there was quite a wait anytime we needed anything, from refills to the check. We even had to cancel an extra order of mac and cheese after waiting for over 10 minutes for something that we thought should come out relatively quickly. Despite the superb food and great atmosphere, the service did impact our overall experience. If they can iron out the service kinks, Corkscrew would easily be a five-star spot. read more

The parking area is easily accessible. The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance inside and outside. They have tables for guests that want to dine outside and inside they have booths, tables and bar tables. Their staff is friendly and inviting. Aiden was our server and he was very efficient, friendly and helpful. He got our drink order and returned to answer any questions we might have had. He told us about various dishes and answered all my questions. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and also teriyaki filet skewers. DH decided to order the shrimp and grits and I ordered the scallop appetizer as my main meal. The appetizers were good. DH liked the various sauces for the calamari and I just added salt. The filet was tender and juicy. Aiden was aware of our table and refilled drinks when needed. The shrimp and grits and the scallops were extremely delicious!!! They were the star of the entire meal. My Scallops were amazing and worth every penny! I asked for the sauce on the side and they were happy to oblige. We started eating before we even thought to take a picture. My husband's Shrimp and Grits were fantastic! They used good size shrimp and the sausage were just the right amount of spice without it being too hot. The grits were perfect in every way. I've been going to NSB my whole life and I am just now finding new restaurants and they were worth it! Corkscrew is located on the outskirts closer to the marina and a cute little shopping plaza to give it a downtown feel. The fish dip was delicious made with Mahi and served with crackers and a lemons topped with some tomatoes. For dinner, our table had the teriyaki tri-tip steak skewers with a Caesar salad, the salmon, and the French dip with house made sweet potato chips. The salmon was the winning dish of the evening because that sauce was soooo good. The skewers were yummy and cooked perfectly but there wasn't really anything teriyaki about them. The French dip was good but I wish it was sweet potato fries instead of chips. Chloe was the best server. She was so kind, helpful and very attentive. We also left a card behind on accident and she made sure to keep it safe until we came back. Excellent service! We had the fried shrimp appetizer (delicious), salads, both very good, and the special country fried chicken with mashed potatoes, black eyed peas, collard greens and sawmill gravy. This is a 5 star from my experience. Had the Key Lime Pie Martini and the Shrimp Swamp and both were amazing. Also, the bar was stocked with a bunch of bartenders to handle the almost-packed bar and my server was attentive and accommodating. In fact, when I arrived (I was a party of 1) the hostess sat me at a table by the bar and then came back and asked if I wanted to move to a bigger table because there was enough space for me to get away from the people at the bar so they're weren't "on top of me." There are lots of choices, but I would say seafood dominated the choices of the group I was with; Blackened Parmesan Mahi (a special), Mahi Sandwich, and Raw Ahi Tuna on a large salad with Vinaigrette dressing. The Mahi Special came with Parmesan encrusted Mahi, corkscrew noodles, and veggies. The Mahi sandwich came with cheese, and a sweet potato on the side, and Aoili sauce. After we told him we were vegan, he made sure every detail of our order was handled correctly, and he checked in with us in a way that felt sincere--not forced. We also met Mason, one of the managers, and his leadership was obvious. He was hands-on the entire night, helping his team wherever needed. He personally brought out our salad, and when it came with cheese by accident, he whisked it away immediately and brought back a fresh one. I asked for lemons, and instead of treating it like an inconvenience, he brought out four perfectly cut wedges without seeds, little touches like that say everything about a restaurant's standards. The food was fantastic. The house-made veggie burgers were honestly some of the best we've had. We asked for them extra crispy, and the fact that the kitchen took the time to bake them to keep them intact--while still meeting our request--shows real care from the chef. The final result was delicious, flavorful, and perfectly executed. We're on vacation, but after this experience, we will definitely be back before we leave. Everything from the ambience to the service to the food and overall value was outstanding. I love when a restaurant gets it right, and The Corkscrew Bar & Grill absolutely does. Corkscrew is a great lunch/brunch spot! My boyfriend and I were spending the weekend in NSB and trying to avoid the rain when we stopped here. They have a large outdoor section that is covered so we were able to stay dry and watch the rain. It was delicious and great service. We started off with the gator bites appetizer that was on their special menu board of the day and shared a pitcher of beer! The fried gator was crispy and flavorful.
