Great service incredible food at a six people four people got the scallops. It's a recommendation. It was a big hit kid friendly my granddaughter was one.

    Menu has great choices!

Went there on a Wednesday night 9/09/26, ate off their small bite's menu- shrimp and Mojo filet skewer was awesome- I ordered the loaded mashed potatoes too and they were amazing!

My family and I came here to celebrate my dad's birthday. To start off, we had the calamari fries 10/10 and the Cuban candy (fried fish) 9/10. For drinks we all ordered margaritas I tried the mango and strawberry, the mango was my favorite but both were really good. For entrées three of us got the corkscrew pasta 10/10, Shrimp Poboy 8//10, Cobb salad 10/10 the service and our server was excellent. Our waiter surprised us with a complementary dessert for my dad's birthday, a chocolate mousse, that turned out to be very delicious we also ordered the Keylime pie. That was very good 9/10. The decorations are really cool and unique and it's typically pretty busy so I do recommend calling ahead. This is a staple for my family and we will definitely be back!

We visited on a Thursday at 4:30 PM and the ambiance was great, very cozy and inviting. We were also seated quickly which was a nice start. The food was AMAZING. I ordered Mom's Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich, and it was perfectly crispy and flavorful without being dry or overcooked. My mom thoroughly enjoyed her Prime Rib French Dip as well. The kitchen really knows what they're doing! The only reason I'm taking off stars is the incredibly slow service. We found ourselves having to track our server down several times, and there was quite a wait anytime we needed anything, from refills to the check. We even had to cancel an extra order of mac and cheese after waiting for over 10 minutes for something that we thought should come out relatively quickly. Despite the superb food and great atmosphere, the service did impact our overall experience. If they can iron out the service kinks, Corkscrew would easily be a five-star spot.

My last scallop of 3 that came with the appetizer portion. Sauce was on the side

The parking area is easily accessible. The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance inside and outside. They have tables for guests that want to dine outside and inside they have booths, tables and bar tables. Their staff is friendly and inviting. Aiden was our server and he was very efficient, friendly and helpful. He got our drink order and returned to answer any questions we might have had. He told us about various dishes and answered all my questions. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and also teriyaki filet skewers. DH decided to order the shrimp and grits and I ordered the scallop appetizer as my main meal. The appetizers were good. DH liked the various sauces for the calamari and I just added salt. The filet was tender and juicy. Aiden was aware of our table and refilled drinks when needed. The shrimp and grits and the scallops were extremely delicious!!! They were the star of the entire meal. My Scallops were amazing and worth every penny! I asked for the sauce on the side and they were happy to oblige. We started eating before we even thought to take a picture. My husband's Shrimp and Grits were fantastic! They used good size shrimp and the sausage were just the right amount of spice without it being too hot. The grits were perfect in every way. Really really great! We'll definitely return and ask for Aiden! The scallops are calling my name! :)

Ambience: Quite inviting, Nice inside and out open air layout. We were here mid afternoon, moderate crowd present. Service: Our server was pleasant and friendly and attentive but, not overly so. Food: I had the Mahi Sandwich as my wife had the Chipotle BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich. Both were great. I also had the call the Bacon Bourbon Bloody Mary ....YES!!! Note: most items on the menu are offered gluten free as well. Price point. $$$ - a little more expensive but not too bad. Hence the 4 stars vs 5.

    Shrimp Swamp

This is a 5 star from my experience. Had the Key Lime Pie Martini and the Shrimp Swamp and both were amazing. Also, the bar was stocked with a bunch of bartenders to handle the almost-packed bar and my server was attentive and accommodating. In fact, when I arrived (I was a party of 1) the hostess sat me at a table by the bar and then came back and asked if I wanted to move to a bigger table because there was enough space for me to get away from the people at the bar so they're weren't "on top of me." Just so thoughtful. Then there's the actual restaurant/bar. It's so cute! Red brick walls, has a fancy sports bar vibe to it. Loved the food and the people here. Great experience. Will be back.

OMG the Parmesan encrusted Mahi was fantastic!

OMG the Parmesan encrusted Mahi was fantastic! My husband got the swamp pasta and equally as delicious as my choice. Anna the bartender was amazing! Super patient and answered all of our questions with a smile. She was also extremely knowledgeable and made several tasty recommendations. Vibe was perfect! 5 stars all around!

This place is amazing. They make a great Old Fashioned and the food was fantastic. The servers are all very friendly and check back often to make sure you have everything. I had the Osso Buco and my wife had the Swamp Pasta. We also each had a salad. The food was promptly delivered and was extremely good. I highly recommend this place.

We started with Margaritas and Old Fashioned drinks. Very good! There are lots of choices, but I would say seafood dominated the choices of the group I was with; Blackened Parmesan Mahi (a special), Mahi Sandwich, and Raw Ahi Tuna on a large salad with Vinaigrette dressing. The Mahi Special came with Parmesan encrusted Mahi, corkscrew noodles, and veggies. The Mahi sandwich came with cheese, and a sweet potato on the side, and Aoili sauce. Alyssa our server was excellent with answers and descriptions. We never wanted for anything during our meal! The ambience was outside amongst lots of plants and other patrons. We finished the meal with Key Lime Pie, it was so delicious! On top of all the excellent service we split the aperitif and desert and paid separately for our respective meals. 5 Stars all around, I definitely recommend the restaurant to everyone?

Our waiter Tristan recommended the grouper sandwich with pesto and the fresh, toasted focaccia just purchased from that morning's farmers market. Holy moly! So very good! The grouper was about an inch thick and so moist. Served with sweet potato chips, and the $5.00 margarita (where I could actually taste the tequila- no shortcuts there!) This was worth driving over from The Villages! Thanks Tristan. The ambiance of the restaurant is cool, with umbrellas and party lights. The place was very busy on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, but service was fast and friendly. P.S. there's plenty of parking, even on a Farmer's Market day.

It's the kind of place you walk into and immediately feel like you're somewhere special. The service was good overall, attentive and friendly, which we appreciated. However, the food unfortunately didn't live up to the vibe or the prices. My husband and I ordered the grouper tacos, and they were a bit disappointing -- mostly cabbage with very little fish, and on the dry side. The cocktails were $17 each (before tax and tip), which would be fine if they matched the experience, but they were served in regular plastic cups, which felt out of place for such an upscale setting. Overall, it's a beautiful spot with a great atmosphere, but the quality of the food and presentation doesn't justify the high prices.

We also ordered their soup of the day, Shrimp and Corn ($8.99). The soup was very watered down, the shrimp were tiny/miniscule and a lot of potatoes. Thumbs down on the soup for the price point. Unsweetened tea $3.75 and a pint of Yuengling $4 were very reasonably priced . Nice selection of draft brews and bottled beers too. 10 wings for $16.50 with the famous Frankenstein sauce were not overly impressive for size, sauce and price. However, they came with a blue cheese sauce that was better than any blue cheese we ever had, because you couldn't taste the blue cheese . We also ordered the Angus Burger and fries. The burger was cooked perfectly to the requested medium rare and the crinkle cut fries perfectly crispy per our request. We absolutely had to try the cheesecake from Patties Cheesecakes down the road. We had the Carrotcake Cheesecake and it was amazing for our dessert. The place is big, plenty of parking, full bar and very loud. Service was interesting. 1st waitress took our drink order and oyster order. 2nd waitress took our wing order. 1st waitress came back and took my beer and burger order and 3rd waiter cleared our plates and took our dessert order. Support local, give them a try. Good location, friendly staff and customers

I had high hopes for Merks Bar & Grill, but this was one of the most disappointing restaurant…read moreexperiences I've had in a long time. The biggest issue came when my daughter found a long, nasty hair cooked into her quesadilla. To their credit, they did remove it from the bill, but that's where the customer service ended. I ordered the "jumbo hand-breaded fried shrimp," and what arrived looked nothing like what was advertised. Instead of jumbo, hand-breaded shrimp, I was served what appeared to be a dozen tiny, pre-breaded frozen shrimp, likely the kind you'd buy in bulk from a food distributor. The shrimp themselves were extremely small and hidden under an unusually thick coating of breading to make them seem larger. To make matters worse, the cocktail sauce was congealed and completely inedible. What really turned a bad meal into a terrible experience was the lack of service. Our server never once came back to check on us after the food was delivered. She never asked how everything was or noticed that I barely touched my meal. When I brought this up to the manager, hoping they would at least acknowledge the poor service and disappointing food, I was met with an attitude instead. Her response was, "I'm not giving you any discounts on that because we already took the quesadilla off the check." I wasn't demanding a free meal. I simply expected someone to care enough to ask why an untouched entrée was sitting on the table and to address the issues professionally. Between the hair in the food, the misleading shrimp, the inedible cocktail sauce, the inattentive service, and the dismissive manager, this was an experience I won't be repeating. Unfortunately, I can't recommend Merks Bar & Grill based on this visit.
