Was sat at a table and took almost 30 minutes to even be acknowledged. When I say acknowledged I mean to even take out drink orders. I am here with my 4 and 7 year old who as you can imagine are not the most patient when having to wait for their food never mind just to put an order in. I am watching them take orders for table that were seated well after me. Take a look at my other reviews as I have never given a one star. Congrats Corky's I will never be back. One of the cleanest diners I've ever been to, this place is kid friendly and has great hours. All the employees are very attentive and professional. The only negative thing I have to say is that food is quantity of quality, I really want to gave this place 5 stars, maybe we'll try it again sometime. For now there are many other diners and breakfast spots opening around since Ladera has joined up with its new cousin Rancho Mission Viejo. I'd be happy to pay the same bill with smaller portions with better execution. Even with that written I would definitely come back and give this place another shot. We decided to give Corkys a second chance for breakfast. Outside seating was available but we waiting ten minutes for a inside table. Once seated we were treated to delicious coffee and water. Our waiting staff was notified that owner Michael will be supplying us with a complementary meal. I ordered the Californian omelette which came with choice of hashbrowns or home fries and toast. I elected to get home fries. The meal was perfect. The avocado pieces and sour cream were great highlights to a well cooked omelette. My girlfriend ordered steak and eggs with hashbrowns. The steak was great and over easy eggs were eaten up with sourdough toast. The staff were super nice and checked in on us plenty of times for us to enjoy 3 cups of coffee with French vanilla creamer. Make sure to never come alone here as the plates are huge and always a good portion. What I really like about Corkys is that they have all kinds of foods. If you're going to bring a large group of friends I'm sure they're going to find something they love here. If you call waiting over an hour for a breakfast burrito on a to go order customer service than you guys really have things askew. After placing an order over the phone for a breakfast burrito at 9:50 I came over to the restaurant at 10:20 to find my breakfast was still not ready. I waited another 20 minutes while the manager completely ignored me and acted as though this burrito was coming in reality they never took the order, and I was waiting for something that was never even put in so after an hour I let him know to go ahead and refund my card and I would be leaving. He sat around and had me wait another 10 minutes while he walked away and then came back with a burrito. This manager is atrocious when it comes to customer service not only can you hardly understand what he's saying, but he just glosses around customer service in general or how you treat customers who are paying there was no prioritizing in phone orders or online orders at all. I wasn't the only customer standing there waiting for orders that were placed over an hour ago. Either you guys need more staff, or a manager who's able to handle the situation because the manager you have on site is garbage and when you walk into the store, the shit show that is happening all over the restaurant is a complete replication of his managerial skills and ability. To be honest I'm pretty sure I've complained about the same manager before and he hasn't gotten better. He's gotten worse. I wish I could give zero stars. This is the 3rd and final time we have been to Corky's during the pandemic. We were often coming here before as well. The food and service has been awful the last 3 times we were here. They take the order incorrectly and then blame the customer, when the food arrives it incorrect and cold on top of all of that. The attitude of the staff is unbelievable, we are trying to support local businesses so they stay open. Well this 3rd time, and 3 strikes and your out. Just appalling to ignore customers and give bad food and service. I will spend my money and time at another establishment that appreciates customers. We typically spend $40-$65 here! read more

Came here for the a very early morning breakfast with the hubby. They give you good portions and food cones out pretty quick. I ordered the ham and eggs with biscuts and gravy....the ham steak is huge. The biscuts and gravy are just ok. The gravy wasn't super hot and lacked a bit of flavor. My husband had the bacon and eggs with biscuts and gravy. He said the same thing about the gravy. Corey's is jus what we need in our neighborhood. There are no more traditional coffee shops and old fashioned diners exist anymore in our neighborhood. Dennys has gone to pasture with food that can't even compete with fast food, and Bob's Big Boy are long gone. Corey's is what I wish Dennys is still like. Good hearty home style food. My wife and I have breakfast there frequently. Breakfast burrito, French toast, pancakes, biscuit and gravy, bowl of chill, and coffee. It's the diner that my dad took me to in the 70s and 80s. Can't velieve I've passed this gem everyday after work last few several years and first time we've visited. not only was the restaurant packed when we entered, but the menu has a ton of selections too. I chose this one because they seem to have good review. The food's good, but I felt upset because I was not treated in a nice way. At the beginning everything was ok and then suddenly the sever came to me saying, 'I got something for you.' then resented the bill and asked me if I need to-go box. I didn't asked for check out and apparently she knew we haven't finished yet . If the business's very busy and people were waiting for seats then I can understand and I would choose to do them a favor to leave early. But there were so many empty seats and we were the ONLY table pushed to check out! What happened and what I've done to deserve this rude treatment? I've never experienced this before. I've eaten here a least a dozen times. It's the only 24 hour sit down place in Ladera Ranch. Basically it's like a Denny's but with a slightly better menu (in my opinion). The staff is usually friendly but since they're mostly younger student types they do get a bit flustered when it gets really busy. GOOD 1: They have a great comfort food type of menu. Everything from meat loaf to burgers to chicken fried steak and chili. Lot of things to chose from. Most things on them menu are tasty and satisfying. GOOD 2: The staff is very friendly. The wait staff have big smiles and seem to like their job. GOOD 3: They're 24 hours. Man oh man have I taken a cab there around 2am more than a couple of times on my way home. I'm not a big fan of Denny's so this place really hits the spot late nights. GOOD 4: They have an outdoor patio and when it's sunny out it's really a nice place to sit and eat. I only have a couple of small misses with this place.... BAD 1: For whatever reason they almost never answer their phone, or when they do they immediately put you on hold forever. This makes calling in orders impossible. Maybe the 10+ times I've called over the years I just had bad luck but it still happened anyway. BAD 2: The dining room is a bit dated and really needs a good cleaning in the little details areas. The other night we were there and you could see tons of dust built up on all the light fixtures and some of the booths has this nasty gunk at the base. BAD 3: They don't always clean off the prior food remnants on the grill between making different orders. I've sent back a few things over the past year because it has flavors and tastes from other food. For example I had a burger the last time and I could taste the grease from something else on it. Something that wasn't hamburger. Not a biggie, they fixed it but it shouldn't have happened. BAD 4: The price points are rather high for the type of place it is. They are definitely more expensive than Denny's, Cocos, etc.... OVERALL: The place is a great alternative to Denny's and is 24 hours. I eat there about once every other month. I'd go more but it's rather expensive for that it is. I'd like to give it 4 starts, but I'm sticking with 3 stars as an overall rating because the dining room need some attention and the price points. read more

I enjoy Corky's every time I go there. Their breakfast is amazing and I love the portion sizes. Although the food & experience is typically enjoyable, I wasn't too impressed last night! The morning was young and so the restaurant was nearly empty. The staff were just standing around chatting but surprisingly, our server was laggy on the service. Our appetizer (a side salad and an order of mozzarella sticks) the mozzarella sticks were warm- not hot. The cheese wasn't melted whatsoever. I was not impressed... I also didn't like how those two items arrived at the same time as our entrees. My burger, (a California burger), was great. Steak fries- hot ! My friend had a turkey melt that wasn't in any way melted. It looked dry and the cheese was just cold. It was very disappointing. This photo was taken at dinner time this evening, and is the second time my wife and I have witnessed a dog being permitted into the dining area by management. Aside from the obvious question of Why was a non-service dog allowed inside the restaurant, my main gripe is Why do some people insist on bringing their non-service dog pets into eateries? The woman who brought the dog inside was waiting to pick up food to take home, and felt ok doing so. No employees challenged her, which further emboldens her for the next time. What I can say on a positive note is that this place is open 24 hours and the portions are quite substantial for the money. The pancakes are HUGE! The food is decent and will generally hit the spot, but it's just below Denny's-level quality so don't expect anything gourmet. However, the food always takes FOREVER to get prepared and served when you dine-in (even when you're only one of a few customers there), and I can see my food sitting there when I order takeout but the staff is too busy running around to grab it. You have to wait most of the time to get your check, and if you order takeout, it takes awhile for them to get around to you as they are busy taking calls or taking payment from the dine-in customers. I will still go here out of necessity because their hours are great, but I wouldn't choose to come here if it wasn't past midnight. read more

I don't know what I was thinking giving it 3 stars last time. This time, we went for breakfast on Memorial Day weekend. The wait was long for just a party of 2. Crowded, so crowded. My silverware had crusted food all over it. The table was sticky. Coffee was weak. My husband ordered a coffee and it took forever. The food was drenched in butter or grease. I ordered the corned beef hash and it was mushy. I ordered sourdough toast and got plain white. The fruit didn't taste fresh. Service was horrible. They weren't rude, but it seemed like everyone was being worked to the bone and would dash by our table so quickly that you couldn't even stop them to ask for something. Ugh. Hadn't been for awhile, used to take my elderly dad there every Friday for his favorite Fried Chicken dinner, that was before covid. Went a few nights ago and had dinner there with friends. One got a breakfast quesadilla and raved about it. Another got the fried chicken, well worth the wait, because it's cooked fresh. And I got one of my favorites, chicken fried steak. Corky's is the true embodiment of customer service. I was looking for a pumpkin pie with graham cracker crust. I called everyone (Marie Calendars, Coco's, Carrows and a few bakeries). No one had the pie with graham crust. Not one place would even contemplate making me a special pie. Flat out no! I want to thank Corky's who offered to make me the pie with no extra charge. They called me the next day to insure me it was done and we loved it!!! To the staff and bakers of Corky's thank you so much for going above and beyond for your customers.
