I've been delighted every time I've eaten there. Portions are twice the size necessary to satisfy the most hefty appitite. This last time I ordered their baby back ribs which came with the most amazing mashed potatoes and the choice of a dinner roll or cornbread. I had the roll which was gigantic and ate it with my left overs two days later and it still tasted fresh. My daughter had the cornbread with her turkey meal. It had a hint of jalapeño and was delish. My fiance and I just ate here on a Tuesday afternoon and it was decently busy. The wait times weren't too long for how many customers there were and the few staff members were going above and beyond to help everyone. Jamie was exceptionally kind and attentive if we needed anything. I ordered a sandwich with bacon and I always take off the bacon and give it to my fiance, she noticed that I removed the bacon and came over to make sure my order was done correctly. The more things change the more they stay the same. After 3 years away, we visited for dinner. We have now waited 50 minutes for our food. Our server, Pedro, refused to give mashed potatoes instead of french fries...even though mashed potatoes are available 24 hrs a day. I cant quite understand why if a customer wants something, it cant be honored-even of an up charge needs to be applied. When asked about the status of our food, Pedro shrugged his shoulders and said there was nothing he could do. A server who put in her order after us got her food long before we did. The cashier who we additionally asked to check on our food never came back to update us-instead she went on to ring up other customers. Our server let us know that the to go orders took precedence over our order. There was a hair in our lukewarm food that had to be sent back twice. Thank you for reminding us why we stopped coming and why we don't need to return. A+ for shitty service, Corkys. At least customers can count on consistency when it comes to poor service, sub par food, and little to no interest in customer satisfaction. Well done, you have chased us off again. read more

Never expected the quality we found in this 24 hr diner/restaurant. We both ordered the senior ribeye dinner with a salad and soup that prove quality exist even with the first course. Recommended by family members who were regulars but moved away. We will be back...huge menu, so many choices. We give 5 stars for such great service and quality and the place was packed. read more

To clarify matters, they're maybe up to a 3.5 star affair in my book. I love the country diner feel that they're going for with their decor. It really does look like granny's kitchen. Also, there are many locals today who are chatting with the waiters and waitresses. I love that small town local vibe as it takes me back to the few years I lived in the Midwest. I ordered the TUNA MELT which included a side. I chose a green salad. I hate to start with a complaint but paying nearly $10.00 for a medium sized sandwich (minus the included side salad) would leave one to believe they should receive albacore tuna and not the "low rent" smelly chunk light low-grade tuna. Even worse is that once you heat that tuna up on the grill of course the STANKY factor increases. Regardless, the sandwich does taste decent enough (minus the "stank") and the French roll is soft and tasty. My next complaint would be the cheese on the sandwich. They opted for American when I thought this always came standard with CHEDDAR. I've ordered this sandie for 20 years and never recall seeing it come with American cheese. Again, this is a substitution of a "low-rent" cost-cutter item for a more tasty quality ingredient (i.e. cheddar cheese). Possibly they allow you to choose your own cheese and I forgot to ask? The PUMPKIN PIE slice (to-go order) has a VERY dark color to it so I'm expecting some serious spice. I give it a "sniff" which confirms my suspicion as does the visual which shows dark specs present. My first taste confirms it is robust with nutmeg plentiful. The texture is soft and creamy with a nice tasting crust which is cooked on the doughy side vs. the burnt side (disgusting). Thank you for that. I think the taste is good but I would still select a Polly's Pumpkin Pie as it is more my style and a tad less spicy and shows a little more "balance". Regardless, this is a nice companion with my Horizon organic milk. I will likely stick with breakfast on my next go-around as it is hard to screw up breakfast and will be less of a "roll of the dice". read more

Well for a 24 hr place. Its on par with harbor house in Dana Point. I step above Dennys if you are hungry. The overall price for what you get is high at 2.95 for Ice Tea and 3.99 for a slice of pie that is middle of the road quality. I tried the Tuna Melt (made with institutional tuna) at 10.95 and its sitting in my belly along with the grease loaded oinon straws. BUT, I knew that going it that it was a 24 hr place. Ate there last night and waited over 45 minutes for our food to get to the table. This has happened consistently with a particular server (a young female with honey-blonde hair), but the service is only kind of good when Chad or another guy with black spiked hair is working. Chad, especially, is hands-down the best server there. Even if the kitchen is behind on orders, Chad is always persistent about refills on beverages, making sure we all have whatever we need, and he is super personable and friendly. But otherwise, the service is consistently slow and it takes forever for all the other servers to do whatever Chad can do in 1/4 of the time. YAS CHAD, YASSSS. Specifically, the younger female with the honey-blonde hair needs to brush up a lot on her serving skills. She's not rudy or impolite, but extremely slow or forgetful when it comes to completing quick tasks such as filling/bringing drinks like soda, water and hot refills like tea and coffee. This is one of my favorite spots. The service is always efficient. They give you large portions and the food is good. The Stuffed French Toast is great. The eggs, sausage, hash browns, toast is good. I've never ordered lunch or dinner. I've always ordered breakfast. The Eggs Benedict is good. I like the thick ham. The biscuits and gravy is okay but, the overall experience is great. They give you a random mug every time which, I LOVE. It is such a cool concept and fun. Coffee is great and I love that they give us flavored creamers (French Vanilla & Hazelnut). Twice, I've gone in for a take out order, and twice they've gotten it drastically wrong. Denny's alternative that is open 24 hours believe it or not. Food portions are GINORMOUS! This is a great family dinner that has great kids meal choices and prices. Kids fruit side is enough for two kids to share. Did I mention the food portions are huge?! Keep this is mind when you are thinking of ordering "just" 2 pancakes. Prices are excellent, most entries under or around $10. Coffee comes in mugs you would find in your house for the homey feel, nice touch. The food has remained consistent, and I order breakfast most of the time...anytime of day. I noticed the night cooks bring their "A" game and seem to cook things better than the morning crew. My family and I have been coming to Corky's for about 8 to 9 years now. The past few months there has been big turnover, with the many friendly faces we have known now gone....managers as well. Service is slow, but hopefully things will pick up as server experience kicks in. We do miss the days when the 3 to 4 servers we had would simply being our drinks when we sat down, cause they knew us that well. Made it more of a family atmosphere. I do recommend you stop by, order breakfast from the bacon and eggs to the chorizo burrito, both of which are consistently delicious. read more

Went to Corky's in Ladera last Thursday. We didn't have to wait to be seated, but waited at least 10 minutes to be greeted by the waiter. He was unkept and very short with us. After ordering drinks, he slammed the drinks on the table very loudly. It was a very strange experience. Came here for breakfast the other day. I ordered the steak and eggs and my boyfriend ordered eggs and sausage. My steak was well done but I wanted medium rare. As ALWAYS Evan the manager came over to our table and apologized and even greeted us by name! I got my steak back perfect as well as everything else fresh. Most restaurants will only replace my steak which means the eggs and hash browns and toast would be cold, but NOT here...Manager Evan makes sure that you get everything back fresh!!
