Saturday afternoon I was on the hunt for a place to take my parents to lunch and I remembered that my coworker's wife recommended this place so we decided to check it out. I ordered the tuna melt that the server recommended. It was very good, one of the best tuna melts I've had! My parents were both happy with their meals as well - a tuna salad sandwich and the philly cheesesteak. We sat on the patio and it was nice and quiet. The only thing they complained about was that it felt like our server was trying to rush us by constantly coming up to us and trying to take things away or asking us what else we needed. She ended up telling us she was going home and just left the check on the table for us and literally walked out. It was interesting...but then again this is a diner, not a 5 star restaurant. Was great. This time however the pancakes were a tad over cooked. That along will not stop my family from returning.

Perfect spot for midnight hunger attacks. I didn't expect this place to be so cheap yet their meals pack a serious punch. I'm talking big man portions! I love breakfast food and I've been to quite a lot of diners but this place wins in terms of tastes, variety, and amount of food. I feel like I should do an update since I've decided to give Corky's another shot. First off, the food is still just as delicious as I'd remembered. Secondly, In my previous review, I deducted several stars due to poor service. I'm happy to say that the service has greatly improved and I've raised my review to 4 stars, which is what I would have given it originally. My friend found this place off yelp. I used to go to Dennys or Norms a bit. Its nice to have place so close that is that style of food and it was real good. I will for sure be going back for more. This place is awesome. I've been here several times and the food is always excellent. My favorites are the fried chicken and the turkey dinner. Their dinner/cinnamon rolls are ginormous. Breakfast is also fantastic. For breakfast I usually I get the bacon and eggs, the bacon is a thicker cut and good quality and the hash browns are delicious. Biscuits and gravy are good too, you can get a 1/2 order on the side. I usually have a Mimosa with breakfast. I like the outside patio during the day, and you can bring your dog if you like. Mixed feelings about this place. Nice that they're open 24 hrs, great big portion sizes, food is moderately priced. Quality of the food is just ok, typical diner type. There is one male waiter, he's been there for years, used to do magic tricks for people at their tables years ago, he's awesome and is always super nice and helpful. Downside is we've ordered food to go and gotten home with the food wrong a couple times, and once got home to a bunch of melted plastic cooked into our waffle. We called them and they apologized and said that does happen sometimes because they store their plastic next to the waffle iron( you'd think they'd change that after the first complaint but I guess not) read more

I've been to this Corey's dozens of times, if not hundreds, and never once have I left less than completely satisfied with my meals. They're always open, have a great menu and portions that can easily feed two per plate. My favorite item is the breakfast quesadilla. My wife and I split the breakfast quesadilla about half the time we go to Corky's and leave beyond full. This place is just plain great! Great food, great prices, great service! read more

Went to Corky's with friends and we had a good meal. They were very busy on the day we went. We had to wait for a table. Good sized portions. The server was pleasant, but the cashier seemed a bit confused, our friends ordered a pie for X-mas and wanted to pay for it. The cashier kept telling us that they weren't taking any more orders. We have been to Corky's many many times and we love the food. The quality of the food is great, portions are huge, and you get more than what you pay for food-wise. Burgers taste awesome, omelettes are tasty, pancakes are huge, and the sandwiches are delicious. This is NOT a place for you if you are on a diet or want to watch your calories intake, BUT you can share a dish and still be ok! Also it is not a fancy restaurant, but we like the atmosphere and the friendly staff. Also it is a family-friendly environment. On the other hand the service is not very good. We usually sit outside and I have to go in and let them know that we are out there. At their peak hours, service gets really slow. The servers have always been polite to us, and even they admit that they need more people there to help at busy hours. I have told the manager that they need more people, but apparently he is not interested in spending a bit more money. All in all, we absolutely love the food, and overlook their service problems....thinking about a Messina Burger now :)))) read more

We came for breakfast this Monday morning after reading the reviews. The place was just as expected. The portions are a good size, and average price (6.99-9.99). They have a big selection of breakfast items. They have lots of combos to choose from. My bf goes for their combo (3 eggs, hash browns, 2 bacon,2 sausage- 8.79). I had the french toast combo (3 slices of french toast, 2 eggs, 2 bacon-$9.99). It was good, pretty much like any other breakfast place like Carrows or Cocos. Its kind of hard to decide how to rate this place. But considering that I have been here at least 30 times, and obviously keep coming back, I figured that I had better round up. Quite simply, you will not find a better 24 hour option in South County. You might not find a better breakfast option either, except for the Original Pancake in Aliso which I prefer IF I have time for an hour wait. Its a regular diner menu, in line with IHOP or Coco's. I think the food is way better. I would solidly recommend any omelet, skillet, or breakfast burrito. Also, the pies are pretty good (banana and chocolate cream especially). I would absolutely not recommend the pancakes or waffles. Both are very pedestrian. The omelets come with a muffin, biscuits and gravy, or toast, so you can get your carb fix there. All of the times I have had late-night or breakfast here, my food has never been bad. Obviously with a really basic menu it can't rise to sublime either, but it is definitely worth the money. I don't care for the tacky kitch decor, but they obviously weren't catering to me. Also, some of the booths are shared, so beware if you have (or hate) rowdy kids. My other complaint would be the service, which is extremely spotty. Sometimes the servers just seem to forget you are there, and may not refill your coffee. However, Corky's definitely fits a niche that should be filled. I would love it if they would open another location in South Irvine, Lake Forest or Foothill Ranch. read more

Like you read in other reviews - huge portions. So split it with your wife/girlfriend - that's more romantic anyway. That takes your typical $25 breakfast for 2 in Ladera (ala Cinn. Productions) down to $12. Regarding the food - yes, sometimes bland - but this is a diner with "home style" cooking. Don't expect Emeril to come out from the kitchen and BAM your food. Ain't happening. This is 24x7 diner food that you get a rest stops, with truckers, huge portion at reasonable prices. The pies, oh my, the pies. Get one take it home. Enjoy for Christmas or Thanksgiving. DO IT! 'nuff said. This place has character. Have coffee mugs at home you don't want? I did. Bring in your McDonnell Douglas/Boeing "project" coffee mugs - they'll use them. Each cup is unique. I like to see what mug the give me. I'm waiting for them to serve me the one that says "I like this mug because it has flowery sh1t all over it". Service - gotta love it! And a manager that visits the tables and glad hands the guests. He'll even strike up a conversation. After two visits he remembered me, what I did for a living, etc. It can get noisy inside. They have a patio. Have an aversion to crowded noisy dining? I love the coffee at Corky's in Ladera Ranch, in fact, I give it 5 Stars. For that matter, I should give the restaurant 5 stars, but there's gotta be something wrong with serving such Large Portions. This place has the luxury of being halfway between my house and the rest of my family so we go here a lot. So far I have only been for breakfast but I have some friends that tell me their lunch is pretty righteous too. To be honest, it's pretty typical diner food; nothing too special. For me, it's the environment and the service that gets the 4. We bring kids to this place and it's totally made for noise so that really helps. The servers are so sweet to the kids and always make them feel special. The manager Mike is also great. He always stops by and makes sure our visit is a good one. The portions are HUGE and the prices are decent considering what you get. The coffee mugs look like they came from all of the employees' cupboards which is very cute. They even have an outdoor area for when the sun is out. This is a great place for a family meal out. read more

A solid 3 stars plus an extra star for being open 24 hours a day in Ladera Ranch. Just about anything you order is good for two meals. The omelets are made with 5 eggs. I normally skip the omelets because I like the contents mixed with the eggs instead of folding the scrambled eggs in half and putting the contents in the middle. Eggs with a breakfast meat like sausage or polish sausage would be my choice. The main reason to come here would be the dinners. The chicken pot pie is enormous. Each serving is a whole 9 inch pie tin with a huge dinner roll. The fried chicken is also very tasty and the salmon can be wonderful if you tell them to undercook it. Decent quality food for decent price. Nothing spectacular but I've also never been disappointed with what I've ordered. I like that it's family friendly since I have a little boy but wish that the service was a bit more attentive. Since it's a fine line between happy and disruptive it helps to get food, drinks and the check in a timely manner. Our serve was older and not in any rush to attend to tables. Corkys is one of my husband and my favorite places to go. The menu selection is huge and so are the portions.
