I visited the Upland location Saturday Nov 11th at approximately 7:30am/8am. There was plenty of wide open parking because there weren't many people in the restaurant. Red flag #1 When I walked in, no one was at the greeting podium but a "welcome" was shouted at me from across the room. Soon, a waitress greeted me and sat me in a booth. The restaurant had maybe 3 other tables with people. One table had 2 wait staff devoting their full attention to it. Red flag #2. Another table, had 3 loud drunk kids dropping f-bombs and loud drunken conversation going non-stop. Red flag #3. Where did the waitress sit me in a big ample spacious restaurant with plenty of open tables? Yep, right next to the drunk animals. REALLY inconsiderate decision and lack of awareness on her part. I resent her for doing that to a customer. Red flag #4. I quickly had to take matters into my own hands and moved tables of my own accord to get away from the insanity. All I wanted was nice peaceful breakfast. Anyways, all I wanted was a vegetable omelette and a short-stack of pancakes. The massive menu was overwhelming and it was my first time at a Corky's so I asked the order-taker for suggestion and he guided me right. I did not know it, but their pancakes are absolutely massive monsters! When he brought me food, he said he reduced the short-stack to just one pancake because he knew it would be enough for me. He was right! The pancake was dry looking with no gloss on it. It looked like cardboard. I could not get thru it. Red flag #5. The eggs were not fluffy at all. Very thin. Red flag #6. $30 for breakfast for one person. I came to Corky's because they sponsor my favorite sport, drag racing at the Pomona Fairplex. I don't know why more restaurants can't get it right... whether order to go or eat in, it's always amazing! Way to go Corky's for your training of staff (front and back of the house). Most recently we are in, tried the huevos rancheros and I opted for the traditional pancakes. Both were great! Large portions, friendly staff. The service, is great, all the personnel are caring, observant to the patrons needs. The food is extremely delicious, great chefs. The location is perfect and easy to find parking. Sometimes it is a little to cold. I love the spacious room, not crowded, and also have outdoor seating when weather permits. I highly recommend this establishment. Breakfast. Lunch or dinner are all great. Shopping center provides a great variety of businesses if needed before or after dining. If you like dessert there is a wide variety of freshly baked pies. Ate with a friend here today for breakfast/lunch, ok brunch . I had the Barnyard special which is $9.99 and not on the menu. It consists of Two nice warm pancakes with butter and syrup, two crispy pieces of bacon, home potatoes, and two eggs with I had over medium. Was so good. Then to take home I got a chicken burrito . Was so yummy as well. The waitress we had was so nice, she did a great job! The restaurant including the restroom was very clean. Had not been to Corky's in a longggg time, yesterday, running errands, in the area, and stopped by for an early Luner(lunch +dinner=Luner) and went to Corky's in Upland, when we first walked in was greeted by I believe a manager or the manager, what was a bummer manager came off as with an sour, sarcastic attitude they are to set the example for the workers and staff) however, I just let it go, gave the benefit of the doubt. Maybe having a bad day, or did not want to work there I get it Burn out and same thing day after day after day, (I know how it is worked as a waitress, hostess, and cook for over 15 yrs. It gets tiring, exhausting and all, anyways, we had dinner, I got a steak dinner came with side and roll, husband got, meatloaf dinner which was cooked PERFECTLY, (Husband had surgery 2 weeks ago and could not eat anything hard or spicy and has 5 more surgeries after this one wanted to eat as much as we could possible before he goes in next week for the 2nd of 5 surgeries. He had lost over 35 lbs, and will lose another 50lbs again. You cannot eat hardly anything for the weeks remaining to heal. Our waitress I did not get her name, she was sweet and great service, soft spoken, the food was DELISH OVERALL. The decor was standard for Corky's restaurant. Food is great. Big portions and the customer service is great. The cook in the back be tripping sometimes thou. Sometimes he plates the wrong items then they will make the waiters come take it off your plate and replace it with the correct item. Corky's never disappoints. Stopped by for a quick brunch in the middle of the week and was happy to discover that the hospitality hasn't changed. What has changed is their hours and the size of their menu. From what I saw corky's is no longer open 24 hours and the menu is now front and back one-sheet. I think both are great moves. I'm very happy the kept my favorite skillets, the country skillet! I ordered that and my fiance had the parfait with a side of eggs. Everything was brought quite promptly after ordering and tasted great. This is a great space to dine in if you want that old-school diner experience with. Great for parties of all sizes! They're serving outdoors AND indoors. Wasn't expecting that! Patrons are seated far enough away from each other that it could work. It was the proverbial "empty middle airline seat" of the dining world. (Thank you, LJR!) Meanwhile, I enjoyed Corky's lightly browned TUNA MELT with a savory hunka cheddar and fresh fat sourdough bread. The crispy pickle spear sported flavor. The salad was fresh enough but the ranch was liquidy. I like my ranch so thick that I can stand my butterknife on end in it....it shouldn't be drinkable. (Unless, of course, I'm in a Ranch Chugging Contest.). Pretty clean restrooms. Very nice and efficient waiter. We scored the free cookie from their bakery for the check-in. Kewl. This is our first time at this restaurant chain. It looks like mostly an Inland Empire favorite, with only two restaurants in eastern LA County(Pomona and Claremont). The Upland Corky's is right off the 10 Fwy at Mountain Avenue, so it's super convenient to access. We went on Easter Sunday at around 1 pm and were seated immediately. Our waitress Nikolle was very helpful and friendly. We told her it was our first time and she gave us some great suggestions to try. One thing that she mentioned is you don't have to be a Senior to order from the Senior menu, because the portions are smaller if you want less. The regular menu does have large portions as Nikolle informed us. My husband's chicken fried steak, scrambled eggs and hash browns plate was generous. The blueberry muffin, however, was a bit underwhelming. For a "bakery" it was smallish, gummy and looked like one of those packaged things from a supermarket! The Cobb Salad sourdough sandwich with well done steak fries had crispy grilled bread and Bleu cheese crumbles with turkey, lettuce shreds, tomato, avocado and bacon. I also received a free cookie ( a 5 inch diameter sized Snickerdoodle) when I checked in through Yelp. read more
