Oh so I tried again. For dinner. Several items were forgotten. Bottles of water missing from the refrigerated section and asking for one was like pulling tight teeth. The worst? Both of the cashiers were snarling their meals in between ringing up sparing customers and weren't washing their hands. The food was good, service was subpar. I asked for penne/ziti for my daughter's pasta dish and they came out with something that was neither. She's a picky eater and wouldn't touch her meal. There goes $5 wasted. The service was little to be desired with ladies who I felt like had a chip off their shoulder (did I use that saying correctly?!). We'd come again b'c their salads aren't half bad but they really need to work on their service. Ever gone to a place and started to wonder if you are invisible? This is one of those. Lots of employees chatting with one another but not acknowledging the customer. After finally giving up on the lady who takes the order but is on the phone for a long time and having to protest when the supervisor asks the people behind me if he can help them ....I was able to place my order. Went to get the iced tea at the self serve counter. No regular tea in the vat. Also only dregs in the lemon container. Food arrived promptly but taste was so-so at best. Was hoping for a new place to have lunch when I'm on the road. Maybe this is just a bad day for them but I'm disappointed with my first visit. read more

The Corner Bakery Cafe is nice for a quick breakfast or lunch if your on the run. They seem to serve breakfast all day too. I ordered the farm scrambler and it was ok. I think next time I would get the combo deal which sounds like it comes with a lot for the price! read more

The food has always been good when we come! I've had many lunch dates here and keep coming back. The staff is friendly and they will make sure to take care of your needs. The only complaint I have is the restaurant is always dirty and the food could be a bit more fresh (salads and pastas). Even still I will keep coming back because they have healthier options than many places here in town. read more

I love love love this place. Breakfast pancakes with applewood bacon are to die for as well as the Anaheim Scramble. For lunch, the Chopped Salad is always good, as well as the grilled Flats and the Panini. Try Big Al's Chili, and the awesomely spiced Chicken Tortilla Soup. For my first visit I was very pleased. Fast service with friendly staff. I ordered a lunch combo which was delicious. Fresh and hot. We tend to go to corner bakery on Saturdays. The staff is normally really nice and friendly to my baby. Food is good I've only had 1 bad experience when my bread was black i took it up to counter and told the girl. She took it and have it to the cook and said it's burnt. He mad a pissed off face and shook his head. They remade it but i was a bit bitter that they sent it like that in the first place. Every other time has been good since. read more

I love this place! Their desserts are very moist, fresh and worth the price. I love that the foods have a calorie listing as well. I am always greeted by staff upon opening door of cafe and they bring your napkins, silverware and even brought me lemons for my drink when asked if I needed anything else while serving me my lunch. The deals are good but a bit on the pricey side unless you get the combos. Over all, I've enjoyed my stay and food. First day I order a signature sandwich roast beef and goat cheese signature. Never got the goat cheese. Next visit I order chopped salad. They for got the chicken and the applewood smoked bacon. So before you start to eat make sure your order is compete. Back here at the corner bakery food great service bad. They still forget part of my order. Never have gotten good service here employees are lost. Management sucks. Management in there own world. Management and employees need a lot of training on how to run a restaurant. I was in the store with family we come through the week. I noticed a gentleman across from us with his laptop and managers were frequently stopping and speaking. I asked the gentleman was he the general manager he told me no very ammoyed. I asked one of the staff who he was to my surprise it was the "Owner". I must say his people skills SUCK.... As a customer i didn't feel welcomed by him not like his staff they are great. I think when you go into a business you have to be a people person not just seeing profit walking in the door. Breakfast here is overpriced compared to other places, but still decent. For dinner, the pesto pasta isn't that impressive especially for how much you pay. I waited 20 minutes for it to be brought out, and the pasta as well as the chicken were barely warm. Been to quite a few Corner Bakeries over the years and this new one in the Corpus area is not doing anybody any favors by being open. We have gone on more than one occasion to give them a chance but this last visit we decided to go for breakfast and they were out of muffins and all baked goods entirely. I asked them why they didn't have anything and they could not offer us an explanation, only bewildered looks on their faces. Who ever heard of a bakery that has no baked items, especially first thing in the morning!!! They had also previously run out of coffee sleeves and other necessary item to run a restaurant. The bathroom was also very dirty and out of T.P. first thing in the morning, meaning whoever closed the night before did not bother to clean or restock for the customers. And whomever opened that day over looked this as well. Needless to say, new or not Corner Bakery has the same training and apathetic employees that are found too frequently in the Corpus Christi area. Go grab a Starbucks or better yet save your money and eat at home. :( read more

Went last week and as I walked in the door I saw 3 employees sitting in a booth talking and another employee sitting by herself staring into space. Got in line behind two other people waiting to order and saw one girl taking orders while another stood behind the counter messing with cups and ignoring the growing line behind me. I ordered a Ruben panini and baby bundt with a drink. After ordering I went to get black currant tea and the container was empty. Told the girl at the counter and she told me she'd get it refilled. Sat and waited for tea to be refilled and my order to be delivered. Sandwich arrived and the bread was toasty warm, but the meat inside was still cold. Small dollop of Russian dressing in the center of the sandwich left the rest of the sandwich dry. Still waiting for black currant tea to be refilled, so I decided to get regular tea. Grabbed a girl as she passed and asked for a fork. Rather than take the time to get me a real fork like the other diners had, she handed me a plastic fork she happened to have on her tray. I also told her about the empty tea container and she said she'd let "them" know. The chocolate Bundt cake was moist and delicious so there was one good thing about the meal, but when I left about 30 minutes after arriving, there was still no black currant tea to be had. Poor service and mediocre food will have this place closing its doors soon just like so many others before it. read more

Ok place for deli style offerings. They do not publish anywhere that although you can get breakfast all day, you only have the option of fresh fruit instead of potato with the meal. Really not sure why I bother coming back. Every single time I'm there I have issues. Forgotten items that I have to ask for repeatedly before I get it. Orders completely wrong - including leaving things like avocado that I asked to be removed and specified it's because of a food allergy so I can't just "pick it off." Today's issue: told the girl taking my order that it would be to-go at the start of my order & then reminded her it was TO-GO at the end of my order. I also ordered multiple meals, desserts, and beverages and I was clearly alone. I was never offered a drink carrier and imagine my surprise when a different employee came to my table with a tray full of plated food. Back to the kitchen where it took several minutes to get everything bagged and boxed as it should've been to start. Of course after all of that, by the time I got the food home - cold sandwiches were soggy & hot soups were cold. This store is not run the way I expect a corner bakery to be run. I moved to Corpus from a larger market with multiple locations - even when they were packed, which CC's store never is - I didn't have these problems. I've done the surveys from the receipts every single time I get one & either corporate doesn't care or isn't actually reviewing them. Perhaps they'll pay attention to a public review and do something about it. read more

Sunday afternoon..6:30pm....so after standing behind 2 ladies that took longer than expected to get a TO GO order...we order. 1st time visit. Simple , just 2 slice of lemon cake and an already packaged brownie bites. we order, I PAY. Given a number and I say again, this is to go. Young man, I know I will bring it to you and proceeds to take the order of 2 men behind us. Didn't like it but my husband and I waited! guess by now you figured out if he didn't already have my money would have left. Why did I have to wait while he took their order?
