I brushed it off and didn't bring the issue up, but was a little upset. To make it worse, they forgot half of my husband's order. Sandwiches are mostly bread. I had a Pesto Chicken and it had some sort of oil and vinegar and some white spread on bottom. Decent tomatoes. Dill pickle was limp and less than average. Chips were good. Did I mention it was mostly bread. Salad a okay, but nothing to write home about. Baked goods looked good, but didn't try any. Lots of people though. I've been to this cafe several times. I've never had any issues with the food, but the service/wait time for my visit today was horrible. I arrived a couple minutes before the food was supposed to be done, checked on the order and sat down to wait. Well, 15 minutes after my order was supposed to be done I got back in line to check on my order. Come to find out my order had been done and waiting and they failed to call my name or let me know even though I had checked in when I arrived with the manager. Then after I left, we were also missing an item that I had to return to the cafe to get. The quality of the food was decent, but it was obvious the sandwiches had been done for quite a while, but overall there are a lot of kinks to work out with to-go orders. read more

I am visiting the Tanasbourne Mall for business and training purposes and stopped into the Corner Bakery Cafe for a quick lunch on a recommendation. I'm so glad I did! The food is amazing! I originally ordered something they were out of, and the woman taking my order recommended something else instead, the California grill panini, and it was so good! The vegetables inside the panini tasted fresh and the pesto was delicious! I also got aside of fruit and it was super fresh and was a great variety, apples, grapes, blueberries, pineapple, strawberries, and melon. And with a drink price came in at just $10 and some change! Went to grab a quick snack. Got a coffee and cinnamon roll. Waited 15 minutes for my cinnamon roll, served cold when I asked for it warmed. Wasn't too big of a deal but then ate about half of the cinnamon roll and noticed a thick black long hair twisted through it. Told one of the young server girls she quickly got me a new one but no apology. Open the container to find two hairs right on top. Go up to the counter, can't find a manager so I tell the lady at the register. She says "There couldn't be, we didn't even touch it" then continues to argue it. I walked away and left. I'm sorry but don't argue with me when there's clearly thick black hairs in two different rolls. I'm a blonde. I suggest hair nets and better customer service. read more

First and last time coming here. Had the California scramble. Arrived right at opening so good should have been amazing.....nope. Potatoes were obviously microwaved since they were rubbery and not edible. The toast was stale and the eggs were below average. The coffee was good and the avocado in the scramble was fresh. That's it. After only eating 7 bites, I noticed a huge onion on the bottom under the eggs. On my plate and my husbands. We left hungry and out 20 bucks. Very disappointed. read more

Great service and yummy food! We got our items to-go and when we looked in the bag before we left we realized they had left out my daughter's cookie. I told my daughter we needed to get back in line to get her cookie (no big deal) but one of the employees, who was on her break, overheard me and went to the back to let them know. Almost immediately they brought out our cookie and gave us an extra for the inconvenience. It was very refreshing and we will be retuning! Food was delicious and was brought out quickly. The general manager that took our order was very nice and helpful. However, my caramel latte didn't have caramel and when I went up to the counter to ask for some I was overlooked while I waited until I finally made contact with one of the staff, at which point she inspected my latte and put a little caramel on top and gave it back to me without a word. read more

We came to check out this new breakfast spot in Hillsboro. The atmosphere is nice and clean. The food was enjoyable and we were impressed by the service especially. My husband's truffle mocha was missed, two different wait staff members noticed. We were given a huge slice if lemon pound cake and when his drink arrived, they had made it a large instead of the small he ordered. We didnt make a big deal of the mistake, but the staff went above and beyond to make it right. read more

We were in search of a latte. Starbucks looked super busy so we decided to give this new place our business. We ordered a Truffle Latte & a Caramel Latte. There were 2 people in front of us with latte orders (I think they had just ordered one). We waited 25+min! The employee was friendly & apologized for the delay but seriously you can't sugar coat that long of a wait (for steaming milk)- I could have made it myself. We get back to our vehicle & I tasted my truffle "latte" to find that it was missing the espresso- so we waited that long for one of our drinks to be made wrong. I've heard great things from my cousins in Cali about this little cafe and was super excited to try it once it opened up near me. The menu is similarly styled as Panera Breads, but it might actually have more food options. Was super stoked about the pesto cavatappi and I got half a Philly cheesesteak and man, when it came to our table the portions were HUGE! Just the pasta or the sandwich itself could've filled me up. Once I tried the pasta it was super bland. Absolutely no flavor! I even added salt and pepper and that couldn't save it. Definitely couldn't taste any pesto which was weird for a pesto pasta...more on the cheesy side. The Philly sandwich had cheese sauce all over the sandwich! It made the bread super soggy and even the top of the roll was soaked in cheese sauce. Took a bite and decided it wasn't worth the mess and it lacked flavor also. So disappointed...may come back to try breakfast stuff but those two were a no go! read more

So this location gets some high ratings from me, not only because I love their coffee and morning pastries, but also because their customer service is pretty great this last time. Recently, we came in with our daughter and her friend for breakfast. Her friend had a breakfast panini but when she got it, noticed the bread was unevenly cooked. It was super hard and toasted on one side and almost completely underdone underneath. The waitress asked if things were ok, and we briefly mentioned the sandwich was tough, but her friend was too humble to speak up to explain further. So she said it was fine and our meals continued until the manager caught wind and came back to explain to our daughters friend that the convection oven which the company is required to use in the process of making the panini wasn't working properly. He encouraged making a replacement and said he'd be happy to make it better. The replacement was perfect and going the extra mile went along way for us. Where we might not have returned if we hadn't said something, this was a case where we were very happy we did, as they were happy to accommodate to make our experience a good one. read more

WHAT is going on with this place? When they first opened we came here weekly, and Mickey the manager was terrific--warm, friendly, and ran a tight ship. Since he moved on, the Corner has steadily declined. Now they're chronically understaffed. Tables sit dirty for 10+ minutes at a time--and I'm talking like 1/2 the restaurant, 8-10 of them. Ordering at the counter can run at least 10 minutes or more, and then a wait after that for food. Today, the gal at the register couldn't even wait on people and take orders, because she was the only one taking phone orders!! This is now hands down THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL eating environment in Hillsboro; fortunately the food is still good, so that's probably what keeps people coming in. But today my friends walked in the door at 10:30 and easily did not receive food for close to half an hour--and that's just not acceptable for a walk-up restaurant. I don't plan on going back again for several months, and if it's as bad I'm officially done with them. read more

The food was absolutely delicious. I got the pick 2 flats (southwest chicken and caprese). My fiancee got the spinach sweet crisp salad. She said it was also quite delicious. But it was hard to enjoy the meal completely because the cashier we had was beyond incompetent. My fiancee and I paid seperately so she ordered first. She ordered the entree (smaller) salad and the cashier charged her for the larger one. Seems like an honest mistake so no biggy. As she was giving my fiancee her change back, she dropped the changed and expected my fiancee to pick it all up without helping from her side of the register. A little annoying but what can you do. When I ordered, it took me 4 times for her to put down I wanted the southwest chicken and not the chicken caesar, when I directly told her I wanted the southwest chicken with no mention of the caesar. 4 Times. That to me is unacceptable and the person is not listening and does not care. Luckily, it seems she is the one dud of the whole place. We really enjoyed our first visit to the cafe. The Harvest salad was very good and my Roasted Tomato Basil soup was terrific. My wife said her cup of chili was also great. Love the breakfast here, we ordered online to go which was very convenient. We live down the road and it was an easy walk to get there and it was prime breakfast hours when we went and we didn't have to wait, just pick up and go. Been here once before about 6-9 months ago and experience was average, 3-star I'd say. Wife and I went here to breakfast this coupon and had a coupon for 2 breakfast meals for $9.99. Wife got the veggie scrambler and I got the pancake, eggs, and chicken sausage with potatoes. Our total was higher than we thought it should have been and asked why and she was like, I don't know...Next (referring to next customer). We were turned off but it was just a couple bucks, so just went to our seat. I was a bit turned off by the experience and checked the receipt and it didn't look like the receipt showed what I ordered so I went back to the register and talked with another employee and the manager corrected and retook the order. Total came too $9.99 and the extra $2 was for potatoes and the order was wrong, it didn't have the eggs in the order. Meal arrived at the table and all I got was pancakes and the chicken sausage....no eggs. WTH? Didn't both going back up the third time and waiting long for the breakfast so we just ate and left for good. Do now know why it was so difficult to get the order right? Also, the menu could be clearer...if bread/potatoes or fruit only come with the scramblers, why not make it part of there own menu and not have exclusions? a bit confusing to someone new. At the end of it, the pancakes were pretty good but the experience was poor at best. Because of this, I have no intentions of going back. read more
