Who cooks after grocery shopping? Not me! I haven't been to a Corner Bakery in a hot minute, but decided to because it was in the same plaza as my local grocery store. This location is pretty spacious, with both indoor and outdoor seating. It looks like you can also get work done here, since they have plenty of outlets scattered throughout. I got the half and half deal, which allows you to choose from sandwiches, soups, pastas, salads, etc. For my halves, I got the pasta carbonara and tomato soup. Here you order at the front, grab a number, and they bring it out to you. The pasta was soo good! Just as I remembered it. It came with the creamy carbonara sauce, peas, and bacon/pancetta. The tomato soup was okay, and was a bit salty for me personally. The portion sizes were pretty good, and overall a great deal for two items.

The service at this particular location is really amazing and the food always turns out great! There's a lot of seating inside and the staff is very attentive overall always a great experience when I come to Corner Bakery here in Irvine!

Avocado & Spinach Breakfast Wrap (V) and vanilla sweet cream cold brew, and Chicken Pesto sandwich

I mean its ok. The chicken pesto sandwich was dry and didnt have great bread, didnt see much pesto. My wrap didnt have enough salsa for the whole thing, and was lacking in flavor. Coffee was good though! Overall, meh!

It was my first time at this Corner Bakery Cafe, even though I always pass by it while driving down Main St in Irvine. The interior design was actually quite spectacular and impressive, especially from what I was expecting from a coffee shop that I'd never been to or gotten any word of mouth about. There were a solid selection of baked goods, including some holiday-themed ones! There's also an extensive menu of hot and cold beverages, salads, pastas, and more. The really impressive part was when I ordered my truffle hot chocolate, they first asked me if I'd like whole milk, oat milk, or some other milk, and I opted for oat milk... I'm so glad they asked! And then, they asked if I'd like the hot chocolate with or without caffeine, and I actually wanted without... again, I was so impressed and glad they asked about this too!! I've been to many coffee shops in my life and not many of them go as far as to ask this level of detail for every customer, and it seems perhaps this location does... awesome job!! The truffle hot chocolate was perfectly hot but not too hot, more like very warm, and it was nice getting to sit at one of the tables inside and take some time to enjoy the moment. A great place for coffee and cafe lovers!!

Excellent, really cheap breakfast sandwiches!! Food is really good. Music is ok. They open at 7

Avocado Avocado & Spinach Breakfast Wrap (V)
Dylan ..

I got the avocado wrap and I was slightly disappointed by the portion size. In addition to the lack luster portion size, there contents in the wrap were mediocre and barely contained any avocado. I also received the Chai Latte which was overly sweet and not filled entirely. The service was good, and the ambiance was nice, suitable for professional work and meetings. Many tables were perceived as taken because a beverage was left at the table but no one was actually sitting there. But that cookie... the toffee cookie was amazing

Bacon Avocado Egg Bowl

I ordered the bacon avocado egg bowl with the fruit add on, and it was honestly very disappointing. The egg bowl was mushy and there was hardly any seasoning other than the normal saltiness from the bacon. The avocado was also just mush and there was so little of it. The bread side was barely toasted so it was floppy and just sad. The fruit..where to begin with the fruit. The fruit tasted canned or like the kind the fruit you would get in an economy commercial flight, but at least the planes refrigerate their fruit. The price after tax was $15.49 (before tip) and I would say that it is not worth the price. Their coffees were alright. I was also one of the first 100 customers for their opening, so I did get a one year coffee refill coupon with a coffee mug which was very nice, but other than that I was not impressed. Can't say anything about their other dishes as I haven't tried anything else, but the egg bowl I got, I do not recommend. Don't get me wrong, It doesn't taste bad, but it just doesn't taste like anything. Oh, but its 600 calories~ so I guess thats a positive.. Also if you do decide to eat at this place, sit towards the back where the bathrooms are because the AC works alot better there. The kitchen is open towards the front and the seats by the entrance is a bit too hot either from the kitchen or the lack of AC in the front. The employees were very nice so no complaints about the service. Just the food was so disappointingly below average. Its also right by 24hr fitness (1min walk away) so I can see so much potential clients for post workout meals as the foods claim to be low in calories, but I wouldn't pay 16 dollars for what I ate. Sorry

I've been a member of Corner Bakery Rewards, and I've earned enough points to earn a $5 off $15+ reward on a quarterly basis, but the reward is only good for the first month of each quarter. I usually frequent the Lakewood location, but enjoy trying the other locations to see how they compare. This location in Irvine is at Harvard Place Shopping Center on the southwest corner of Main and Harvard not too far off the 405. However, there isn't a freeway exit for Harvard, so if you want to stop by, you'll want to get off at Culver or Jamboree and head north towards Main St. When I arrived about an hour before closing time, I went up to the register to place my order. The cashier (Xiomara?) was so dull and lifeless it felt like her energy level was completely zapped that evening. She clearly didn't want to be working. In order to claim my reward, I had to provide my phone number. I usually go for a Choose Two at Corner Bakery since I feel you can get the most bang for your buck that way. A Choose Two is $13.99, and a premium entree item is a $1.59 upcharge. Before prices went up, it used to be $12.99 for a Choose Two, and a premium entree was only a $1 upcharge. My how times have changed in just a matter of a few years, and I've also kept in mind the decline in quality over those years. Today, my preferred Choose Two is the Power Greens & Grains Salad and a premium pasta, which there are 5 of at Corner Bakery. I went with the Pesto Cavatappi, which is simply grilled chicken, cavatappi pasta, and pesto cream. A Choose Two comes with a side, and I like to vacillate between the two salads, Mixed Greens & Classic Caesar, depending on my mood at the time. I went with the Caesar this time. After paying, Xiomara gave me a red numbered stand rather than a white card that other locations usually give you to place on top of the salt & pepper. I asked her how long the wait would be, and she estimated between 5 and 10 minutes. It was about 6 minutes before she came over to deliver my meal. The Pesto Cavatappi and the Power Greens & Grains Salad came in bowls while the Classic Caesar Salad filled half of a rectangular plate. The Power Greens & Grains Salad bowl was on the plate next to the Classic Caesar Salad. The first thing I noticed was how they skimped on the portion size of the Pesto Cavatappi. However, what they lacked in portion size, as well as chicken, they made up for in pesto cream. The pasta dish as a whole could have used a little more flavor; unfortunately, I had overlooked the seasonings right next to me! So definitely don't be like me in this regard lol. However, there was no seasoning needed for either of the salads. The Power Greens & Grains Salad came with the dressing on the side, but the Classic Caesar already had the dressing on it. A little odd, and I'm not sure why they did it that way? But they were good enough and up to par with the other locations. I even got to mix the remainder of the Caesar Salad with the extra pesto cream sauce from the Pesto Cavatappi, and the Caesar Salad tasted better if only by a little bit. Like I said, Xiomara's mood was pretty vapid during my visit, but I do have to give her credit for remembering to give me a water cup when I forgot despite mentioning it a minute ago lol. There are plenty of tables inside, and it was mostly empty upon my arrival. A few customers did come in after me, but by no means was it busy. If you prefer dining al fresco, they also have an outdoor patio at the rear of the cafe. The restrooms are to your right once you walk in. When I was there, I noticed the door was open, and there was a wet floor sign. Hopefully that is not the norm here and that an employee was cleaning it at the time of my visit. Overall, it is not a bad Corner Bakery Cafe to go to. The quality of the food isn't too much different than the other locations, but needless to say, there is definitely room for improvement. I wish the employees would show some degree of customer appreciation, but that seems to be coming at a premium regardless of what location you visit.

Half&Half combo: chicken carbonara & tomato.basil soup. Free ceasar salad on the side

A filling and delicious lunch of one of their available combos: half soup and half pasta. Tomato basil soup is tangy, and the carbonara has enough proteins for the carbs. Also happy that I get complimentary greens. Talk about a complete meal! Service is prompt, and the space is relaxing for leisurely dining.

Watery fake eggs
Jamee S.

A step up from airplane food. Fake watery eggs. Tiny bacon strips. Everything appears to be heated by microwave then plated with fresh avocado and shredded cheese. The baked goods look good. Maybe that's what they're known for? Service is friendly. Restaurant is clean. Overall, the food pictured on the menu does not look like your plate when it comes out.

Breakfast for dinner :)
Betty G.

Craving for breakfast for dinner tonight, so did an online order and stopped by this Corner Bakery location (one of the few left) on the way home and it was very good. Pancakes were fluffy and had a nice chewy texture. Scrambled eggs was moist, and the chicken sausage was good. I usually do not care for breakfast sausage but theirs was actually decent. My other favorite from Corner Bakery is the turkey cob salad, without bacon, of course.

Once you order, you can choose a seat inside or outside in the plaza. We opted for inside. They seem to have limited staff, which means they are bogged down by lines and serving resulting in limited tables being cleaned. I got the blueberry lemonade and it was a good mix of tangy and sweet! Highly recommend if you're not in the mood for coffee/matcha. I ordered the chicken koko mono and it was DELICIOUS! The chicken was breaded with panko which made it really crispy and a fun texture. The rice had the same gravy on top of it. The mac was also classic and great. The only con was that the egg was a little over, but nonetheless still edible. Highly recommend!!

It's the kind of place that makes you want to linger over brunch, which is probably why it's become such a popular spot. Unfortunately, the food and service didn't quite live up to the setting for us. We ordered the French onion soup, smoked salmon pizza, and breakfast burrito. Surprisingly, the French onion soup was the standout dish. It didn't look particularly appetizing when it arrived, but the rich, savory broth and balanced flavors completely won us over. The smoked salmon pizza had a great flavor profile, but it was way too salty. The salmon was already heavily seasoned, and the capers only amplified the saltiness. Despite the salty pizza, the breakfast burrito was my least favorite item. My wife enjoyed it, but I thought the eggs were overly fluffy and abundant, which muted the flavors of the other ingredients. One thing worth mentioning is the wait. I had read reviews about slow service but assumed those issues had been ironed out by now. Despite there being little to no line when we ordered, our food took about 45 minutes to arrive. I think something may have happened with our order because I noticed multiple parties who ordered after us receiving their food much sooner. To their credit, the staff was friendly and offered complimentary pastries, though they weren't particularly memorable. If you're in Irvine and looking for a brunch spot with a great atmosphere, Bluberry Social is worth checking out. The food wasn't perfect, but the overall experience was enjoyable enough that I'd be open to giving it another try.

I've heard the Peruvian Steak, Prosciutto, and Chicken are good too! My only feedback with the Happy Hippie is that there is slightly too much filling, so it falls when you are eating the sandwich. Each of their sandwiches comes with two halves and is filling and satisfying. They also use fresh, vibrant vegetables, and a store associate told me their bread is baked fresh every day! Service: The service here is half the reason I come! A lovely store associate will guide you when ordering, and they will bring the food right to you! When they bring the food, there are two napkins on the tray. If they see you carrying your tray after you are finished eating, they will also offer to take it for you! Although the sandwich prices are slightly premium, you are paying for their healthy ingredients and exceptional service! Ambiance: This restaurant is spacious with many tables on the inside and outside! Their bathrooms are also really clean and well kept! Tough call... This is my favorite Mendocino Farms location…read moreout of at least five I have been to around Orange County. The problem with this sandwich chain is one and only: They have a huge issue with quality consistency. Ask their managers and they will tell you that the portions and sandwiche ingredients are strictly measured, but as a customer you know that's not the case. You go to some places and get these tiny sandwiches with two slices of bread and barely any ingredients in between. The Tustin location, located in Whole Foods has been the worst offender at this by far. Now this Campus Drive location has been creating the best, most generous, consistent sandwiches. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen every time still. It all depends on who you get as you cook on that day, crafting your sandwich. Some day sandwiches that get to the table are juicy and enjoyable, and sometimes, they come out to be disappointedly small, with minimum amount of ingredients. I had to complain to the manager a couple of times, but it doesn't help. Every time I come here, I pray to get the right chef who will make my sandwich well. Absolutely hate being at their mercy.

5 stars for the goma matcha latte and milk bread with crunchy pearls!…read more The goma matcha latte 5/5 had a black sesame paste that was like the black sesame version of smooth peanut butter! One could probably eat it by the spoonful! Such a complex flavor complement to the matcha latte. The matcha latte (4/5) felt fairly strong (I estimate 4g at least), and the mango puree tasted real/ fresh but was nothing special. However, I did like that it was not too sweet. Caveat: I am partial to mango/coconut milk or mango sticky rice matcha lattes. The goma matcha was worth the $8 pricetag. Tip: Matcha Mondays=10% off matcha drinks! The mango one maybe was worth it due to the amount of matcha, but I do feel like I could make it at home. The milk bread ($5.50) was soft, with a delightful bursting sweet cream filling topped with those shite pearly crunchies-- unique and delicious. I also loved the kinako an pan (sweet bread with red bean filling, $5.50) because of the nostalgic flavors, but also because the azuki bean had a nice crunchy sugar quality. It was on the drier side the day after purchase, but I enjoyed it. Service was cheerful and speedy. The space is pretty large with probably as much outdoor seating as indoor, and there were a few open spots at 1:30 on a Monday. Parking was plentiful in the shared plaza lot with some shady spots.
