First time ever eating at Corner Bakery. Stopped in for lunch with a friend. Clean and not crowed so we were able to order almost immediately. Food was brought to the table with little wait time. Had the 1/2 sandwich 1/2 soup combination and since it was a colder day, tried their tomato Italian soup and grilled cheese sandwich. Tomato soup is broth based; ok but not really to my liking. Flavor on the mild to bland side. But the grilled cheese with tomato was fabulous! Perfectly toasted grain bread with melted cheesy goodness - delicious. With tip, meal cost was just over $16 which seemed a bit steep but in keeping with most places currently.

We ordered the Rustic Italian Panini with a side salad to split.

Corner Bakery is a great cafe option for brunch, and soup, sandwich and salad options for lunch and dinner. Similar to Kneader's, it's line up and order, with a delicious bakery to grab some sweets. Only fresh ingredients used on the whole menu. Soup menu changes often. Simple pancakes and eggs breakfast hits the spot every time. Pro tip: use their app for free stuff, and to order ahead to skip the wait.

This place has some very good management, the service was great and the food was even tastier. Worth a try!

Great service and the tuna melt was really good but the potato tasted like they were mad the day before and avocado looks old and spoiled but the experience was good

I had pretty high expectations for this place after hearing from friends and family. We found a buy one get one free coupon and I decided I'd finally try it. I ordered the linguine and meatballs and the pesto chicken. The orders took a bit longer than expected to come out but perhaps they were just short staffed. As far as the food, I took a bite of the garlic bread and tasted no flavor. The two bowls were a pretty good size considering the price; and although there were only two meatballs in the linguine,it seemed sufficient due to the size. The linguini had a very light tasting marinara but the sauce seemed very watery to me. The pesto chicken had lots of pasta but it seemed that it was lacking a bit of chicken. The pesto sauce was also so light that it seemed that the dish was almost lacking in flavor. Overall, the food is affordable but I wouldn't have wanted to pay full price for the taste. If I had a coupon, I'd come in again.

The wait for dinner was relatively longer than I expected, however there were many tables available so there was no issue with seating. The menu also has various selections of healthy options. I ordered the pesto chicken and linguini meatballs, and both dishes came with a piece of garlic bread. The presentation wasn't the absolute best, and the garlic bread was not salty enough. The pesto chicken sauce I ordered was also quite light. However, the meat was very tender! I would say that this place is worth it for the price paid.

Enviornment - 1 (so quiet you can hear everyone eat) Food - 4 Customer service - 5 The food is great. Its so quiet I would rather not eat here. I will order to go from now on. Probably why it was empty inside. Great food I hd soup and cavatappi pasta.

Farmer scramble and the Anaheim scramble (back). The Anaheim has a lot more flavor.

One of the things I like about corner bakery cafe is that I don't feel like I've eaten a pot of grease after eating here. The food I've had is fresh and sits well. And most of it seems pretty on point. Service has always been great each time I've been. My very first visit, I ordered fresh fruit and mentioned something about not liking cantaloupe but that I would get it anyway. When they brought it out, the person had made sure there was no cantaloupe in there. That's service! Atmosphere is also nice and clean. Once again, you don't feel like you're sitting in grease. Well done CBC.

this place is very dirty! The baked goods look like they've been left out for days and they also don't have fries.

The French toast was perfectly fluffy, and I really appreciated that they didn't drench it in the sauce. The flavor was balanced and delicious on its own--I didn't even need maple syrup. The portion sizes are big and definitely worth every penny. You get a lot of food and the quality is great. The service is just the cherry on top. We came on a weekday morning, no waiting list needed, and were seated immediately. Promising start. Then we waited ten minutes for anyone to acknowledge us, in a restaurant that was not crowded and appeared to be well staffed. This is not a one time observation. The gap between being seated and actually being served has been a recurring theme across multiple visits, and at some point a pattern stops being a coincidence and starts being a logistics problem that needs fixing. When the food finally arrived it reminded me exactly why I keep giving this place another chance. The crepes with berries and mascarpone were delicate and well executed, though the kitchen could afford to be more generous with both the berry sauce and the mascarpone. The portion is on the modest side, which worked fine for me personally but may leave hungrier diners wanting more. The traditional omelet was the star of the visit, specifically the jalapeño wrapped in bacon that comes with it. It was exceptional and the kind of detail that shows real kitchen creativity. My only complaint is that there is only one. There should be at least two. The cinnamon roll is enormous, which is its own form of commitment, but the dough ran a little dry this visit compared to previous experiences. An off day perhaps, but worth noting. Three stars, and every one of them belongs to the kitchen. Sort out the service flow and this place jumps immediately.

But then came the steak, which was flat-out the best I've had in years. No notes. Here's the thing though, I'm not a gnocchi person. Never have been. Our server talked me into it anyway, and I'm genuinely grateful. It's a short rib and stew situation with gnocchi that somehow hits every note perfectly. Total convert now. And the s'mores pie to close out the night? Simply perfect. Don't skip it. The service was great too, our server clearly knew the menu inside and out and steered us exactly right.

However, we did have one drink server where we had some issues with, but our main waitress was lovely. For starters, our table shared the baked ricotta, balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, and bread rolls with honey and butter. The brussel sprouts were good, but the bread rolls were my favorite! They were so incredibly soft and pillowy. They honestly didn't even need the bread and butter! I was most excited for the baked ricotta, but unfortunately it was a disappointment for me. Ricotta is a very mild cheese to begin with, but I tasted absolutely zero flavor from it and it was mostly just adding a textural element to the bread. The fig walnut guanciale jam was overpoweringly sweet and the guanciale was also nonexistent. Overall, what I expected to be a flavorful combination, fell pretty flat and bland for me. Onto the main, I got to try the Block burger and the house made gnocchi. The burger was a standard burger, nothing too crazy. I was surprised the patty was actually moist because it was cooked well done. The same jam from the baked ricotta was used, so wasn't a big fan of it because again the overwhelmingly sweet didn't do much to elevate the burger. I also missed any flavor from the truffle cheese sauce. So it was a pretty average burger. My gnocchi definitely tasted better than it looked. Another friend also got the same dish and it looked like they just split our portions in half and served it on two separate plates. In general, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. The braised short rib was very tender, but the whole plate sat in a pool of salty sauce. I couldn't really make out any other flavors. The scoop of crème fraiche tasted exactly like sour cream and was not the consistency that I expected. The gnocchi's were made well, but I prefer mine a little firmer. However, this is complete personal preference. Overall, service was good, but food fell severely short of what I expected. I was so excited for all of these elevated flavors and ingredients, but, sadly, none of them came through.
