Ordered delivery, it's great that they offer that, but they left my husbands chips off the order. My chicken Caesar salad was so small we actually laughed when it arrived. I chose the "cafe salad" vs "entree salad", assuming it was more of a lunch portion but I should have sprung the $1.50 extra, it's ridiculous to call this anything but a side salad. They put it in a long thin container instead of the deep square ones you get for side salads but they aren't fooling anybody. Had a good experience at a Corner Bakery in Houston so I promptly downloaded the app and made a trip to this location on a rainy night for the BOGO pasta dinner. The inside was clean and attractive and felt welcoming. A young lady took my order for 2 pastas, a large drink and a oatmeal/cranberry cookie. I checked the bag before I left and they forgot the cookie which I received after noticing it was missing. Wish I'd skipped the cookie - tasted only oatmeal even tho I could see the dried cranberries. Not worth the $. The pasta portions were good and they included 2 small foil wrapped garlic breadsticks. Sadly my Pesto Cavatappi didn't taste like pesto tho I could smell a bit of pesto. Lots of tiny green bits on the pasta and almost no sauce. My Chicken Carbonara was equally lacking sauce and for some reason all the bacon, chicken and peas were on the bottom like it had been dumped upside down into the takeout container. Added salt, pepper, parmesan cheese and other seasonings to make my food edible. Working and getting lunch can be difficult, especially on Friday's. Six employees placed orders for pick up at 12 pm. One of the orders accidentally got placed for pickup at 10 am! I immediately called and spoke to the manager Tony, to get it moved to 12 pm. He could have told me at that time he was deleting the order and I would have to order again, but he didn't! Also, two of the orders went through on the Corner Bakery phone app and said order placed! But In fact they did not go through! Instead of calling the customer, they sent an email saying there was a problem with the payment! Remember, it's Friday and we are at work. Not looking for emails on our phone! Honestly, there is so much to say I don't know where to begin. I lovee Corner Bakery; it's the one thing I truly miss since moving to Boston. But whenever I visit my folks during the holidays, this is one of my 1st stops. They cater. They bake amazing pastries. They have amazing sandwiches and soups. My favorite way to order is: the Corner Combo of soup and 1/2 a sandwich or panini, which they give with a pickle spear and some chips (best eaten with some tabasco sauce). It's more than enough food trust me. For sandwich, I either get the chicken pest with steakhouse rye; chicken pomodore panini; or california grille panini (veggie only). For soup, I always get the tomato basil (100X better than le madeline), I want to try some of the other soups but it's so good I end up ordering it everytime. =) *sigh* i heart corner bakery. read more

I eat here on a regular basis and can tell you I have not had anything that I did not like. They just added a new item that is a triple pork panini that is just like a Cuban. If you go the Pick Two route you can pair it with any of their great salads. I am telling you the portions are HUGE. All of their soups are very flavorful and the pastas are surprisingly good. Than there are the sweets and if you go there without getting something you are making a mistake. Breakfast is also great and if you like pancakes these are very tasty. All of the times I have eaten there I don't think I have ever waited more than 5 minutes to get my food. The place always looks great and everyone from the cashier, to the food runner has been very nice and friendly. Delicious. I've loved the grilled cheese, lemonade, brownies, tomato basil soup, and caprese sandwich. I ate here a couple days ago, and while my dining partners have always been pleased, as well, my mom loved the DC Chicken Salad sandwich (especially the added crunch of the slivered almonds) and my husband loved the chili in a bread bowl. This particular Corner Bakery USED to be a favorite of mine and my family's. Throughout 2013 and 2014, it was a spot we relied on that was always very clean, very inviting, and served delicious, beautifully-presented food and wonderful coffee. My visit there yesterday evening for a light dinner was a real shock. The place was filthy - - at least six or seven tables held no customers but had dirty dishes stacked on them. It was difficult to find a clean table at which to enjoy dinner. I finally sat at a booth against the wall, noticing that the booth seat next to me was broken; you could see a large gap all the way down to the floor underneath. There were no Saltines available to munch on before the food arrived. The whole restaurant was very much in the state of disarray. When my food came, it looked as if it had been hastily thrown together and tossed on to the plate from across the room. My Panini was overcooked on one side, and the two pieces of bread were askew, which means the fillings hung out on both sides. It's always sad when a favorite diner comes under new management and immediately takes a turn for the worse. That seems to be what has happened at this Corner Bakery. I love CB, so I guess I'll have to try out the one at Frankford and the tollway. read more

Alright, I'm not a fan, so shoot me. Chain cafes don't really do it for me any more. Not that there aren't some good choices, but honestly, most of it is pretty bland & cookie cutter in variety. I ordered the Salad Combo (your choice of salad and soup) and chose the Asian Wonton Salad & Three Lentil Vegetable soup. My salad was a little lackluster - it was basically lettuce with a few wontons, a handful of edamame beans, and a mass of ginger soy dressing. I liked the dressing, but this was a little overkill. I'm glad I didn't order this alone, because I'd have been starving. Actually, I nearly did without the soup because it wasn't brought to the table until I asked a manager about why it hadn't arrived. The person who was supposed to be bringing everything out was too busy running around in the back talking with his buddies to notice that part of our order was missing. That aside, I really enjoyed the soup. I got a nice, large bowl which was piping hot. There were a ton of veggies and the lentils added a good flavor to it. I managed to gobble that up quickly. The restaurant itself was spacious, comfortable, and fairly quiet at the time. We had no trouble getting a table, though it wasn't exactly clean. Most of the ones we passed still had crumbs & whatnot lingering from the previous occupants. This location is easily accessible, though. It is in a busy shopping center near a bookstore and grocery store, so there is plenty to do in the area. If I'm around that part of town, I may try this place again, but I certainly won't be going out of my way for it any time soon. read more

I ordered food from here for a work event-scrambled eggs with bacon, chicken sausage, bagels and croissants. The morning event started at 7:30 but people always arrive early, so I asked them to be there by 7 at the latest, 6:45 would be better. Well, the delivery didn't come until 7:10 and he had to unload everything while I am still trying to check people in and finish setting up the room. You can also never go wrong with most of their lunch selections (especially the paninis!), but beware of any salads that use savory dressings instead of vinaigrette. If you don't like your salad leaves drenched and dripping with dressing, be sure to ask for it on the side. The normal dessert pastries are okay (but not particularly exceptional) and also dripping in oil. So basically, the breakfast and the sandwiches are the way to go. Okay, where do I start? We moved to West Plano more than 10 years ago from California and never had Corner Bakery!!! So today, I asked my hubby if he wanted to try Corner Bakery and he said Yes!!! Oh my, Oh my I actually went in and ordered at the counter. The GM - Stephen was so polite and kind, he advised me on different menu items to order. He was on the register taking orders!!!! Willing and ready to help because they were very busy. I was so so impressed because I come from Food and Beverage as a mgr. and that spoke volume. So let's talk about the food. The turkey avocado sandwiches was so Delish!!! The fruit was fresh! The lemon cake was Amazing!!! We will definitely be regulars. Just dropped my rating because the last two times I've been there, they messed up my order. The first time, they gave me tomato soup (which really isn't good) instead of the potato soup I ordered. Then today, they left my turkey on pretzel bread dry instead of putting the mustard it is supposed to come with on it. The crappy thing about this is that it is just a deli!! How hard can it be? Well, this certainly wasn't the BEST sandwich I've had, but it was really quite tasty. I found that the quality of the ingredients that went into my sandwich were fairly nice. The bread was tasty as well. I did see that the menu also had a gluten free bread option, which was somewhat relieving, you don't see that often enough. The only feedback I would have for a place like this is that I didn't feel that the healthy options were adequate enough. I eat a mostly paleo diet, so this is generally a problem I experience when trying to go out for a meal, because usually you are left with salad being the only option. I didn't ask to look at the packaging for the GF bread because I'm sure its still loaded with processed stuff that wouldn't sit well with me, but I can appreciate that they tried. It would be nice to see something like side of steamed veggies as an option, or even offer lettuce wraps for all the sandwich combo's (dare i say it.. like what jimmy johns does). Also, it would be nice if there was something on the menu that let the customer customize the sandwich they'd like. When the option you're looking for isn't listed, its easy to feel like you're being too much trouble asking to swap out ingredients. Anyway, overall, the sandwich was tasty and the customer service was decent. I only went once, so perhaps there are other great options I didn't see the first time. I love this location. The food is reasonably priced and good. The Togo is always fast and I have never had an issue missing items. We prefer to come for breakfast as a family on the weekends when it is a little slower. My husband loves the coffee cake and I love the chocolate muffins. I ordered a harvest salad with chicken but when it came, no chicken to be found. I notified the wait staff and he quickly brought a small plate of chicken. Sadly, it was four tiny pieces of chicken. This is my favorite Corner Bakery in the area. I've been going here for years, even after moving to another part of the metroplex- whenever I am in town, this is my spot! At any time of the day, service is consistently excellent and fast. One thing I like in particular about this location is that the employees are always friendly. It gets very busy during lunch time on weekdays and breakfast through lunch on Sundays, so be ready to stalk a booth! I will always feel at home here, and compared to the other locations in the metroplex (I am always driving around town, and I love Corner Bakery in general), this is the best! Great job, guys!! I've been here a million times and am not sure why I've never reviewed them. I met my wife here for lunch on Friday and had a great experience. It was crowded and when we were in line there was only a few tables to sit at. But right when you think there is no where to sit they will come out and bus the tables to allow the customers who just ordered to sit down. My wife likes their salads and everything is always fresh. I will admit I don't always have the healthiest diet so it's good to come here and get something healthy and is tasty at the same time! I got a cup of chicken noodle soup and the harvest salad and it was delicious. We had two young men come over to check on us to see if we needed anything and when we were done they came and cleared off our table. Also one other thing that is a minor detail is that the Sprite is never flat. Every time I've gone the Sprite is super fresh and bubbly.
