Bar is nice.... Waiter was energetic and eager but tried too hard to push the drinks on us. Ordered the mussels' app. They showed promise but lacked attention to detail. Half of them had not been cooked long enough to open. C'mon, we live on the ocean, you want to get that right. I ordered the Sirloin med rare. And that's what I got, so good job there. Kale was good and squash was good. Here is where they fell on their face... It's 11 deg. outside, bread pudding is the perfect desert. In fact, Banana Chocolate sounded great. It showed up with a nice dollop of vanilla ice cream standing tall. Take a bite from the inside edge and I got a mouthful of molten chocolate. Put the spoon down and wait for it to cool. I have been in the kitchen and know the wait staff generally owns plating the desert. But here we go with the attention to detail again. The ice cream doesn't melt. I stick my finger in the outside edge of the bread pudding, it's cool if not cold to the touch. Classic microwave failure. Worse though was that the entire pan edge side was burnt. Attention to detail would have had that cut off in the kitchen and made it look like an inside piece. In reality, the bread pudding was a cake batter bottom and top with some dark chocolate wedged in the middle. Willing to give it one more try, but the impression I got was they are trying to make margin on the meal and sacrificing quality. For $25 entre and $15 appetizer I'm expecting better! Make your margin on the booze like everyone else (I ordered the top shelf bourbon, so was doing my part). read more

When I went to Corner Stop with a group of 7, the place was packed- clearly a local favorite. The interior is beautiful and inviting for adults and kids alike. We were there in the winter and I can only imagine what it looks like in the summertime. Everything we ordered was amazing but a few stand-outs were the empanadas, bolognese, salmon, and bread pudding. This place is worth the drive from Boston. read more

This was a great little find on date night! The atmosphere was on point- we sat in the bar area rather than the dining area because it seemed that's where everyone was, but the dining area was super cute and well decorated as well. The menu options were plentiful and unique. Our entrees were delicious. I didn't have a complaint about the food. Would have given them 4 stars because the service was a little slow, and we were charged for an extra we didn't receive, but when I brought it to the attention of our waitress, she graciously apologized and took the charge, as well as our appetizer off the bill. Made dinner reservations for two. When arrived was escorted into the bar for a Hightower table. Asked hostess for table in dining room which she accommodated. Waitress took drink order and then brought a dip and bread - little skimpy in bread - one half slice of Scalia bread cut unto three. Drinks arrived - wine was half glass for $11 which is in the norm. Cosmopolitan lacked liquor. Orders architoke flatbread which was good but left a peppery taste. While trying to enjoy drink and flatbread, entrees arrived. Not a good thing.....felt rushed even though dining room side of restaurant was half empty. Dinners - salmon was undercooked even though it was requested to be well done - taken back to kitchen; came back but side was lukewarm. Portion small and not even that good - pork shoulder was shredded pork over thin lawyer of mashed potatoes. Suggestion stick with bar menu, appetizers, flatbread, and burgers --- I now can say I gave it a try but can find better tasting food and drink for $100. read more

I often visit Hingham to visit friends and was delighted to find DiNero's had finally changed hands... sick of looking at that 9.99 lobster sign or whatever it was! So refreshing to walk into a tastefully decorated restaurant... and for someone who loves eating in the bar, I was in hog's heaven. Love the huge, wrap-around bar, bistro tables, and cozy lounge seating by the fireplace. Although I have to add, I cannot get over the transformation of the front area from the dark, windowless, mirrored room... to a cozy, modern, inviting ambience. Was a bit nervous to try the food as I always am at any new restaurant, but everything I tasted was delicious. I'm not sure who these other reviewers are, but let's just say if they were DiNero's regulars... well, I'm just saying. The meatballs were moist and yummy... and I sopped up every last bit of the sauce with the abundant bread that was served to me (and nobody tried to take it away!) I loved the edamame hummus with crostini... a refreshing touch from the usual basket of stale baguette or white rolls. The mussels were outstanding and the flatbread to die for. I won't rave about the hippy dippy salad because everyone else seems to have already.... but I have to agree that the dressing is a standout. At the risk of being tedious, a quick shoutout to the staff who were attentive, friendly, eager to please, and professional. I felt like I had walked onto the set of Cheers! It's such a relief to finally have a lovely, homey, fresh, delicious, neighborhood restaurant in the area.... can't wait to go back! read more

A happy accident for us! Took a wrong turn and got lost leaving Hull bringing 2 chef friends back to Logan, we ate at the bar and had the bartender order for us. WOW! The great fish treatments, perfect salads and great New Orleans influences sloored us all. I left with two Very impressed guests. had a wonderful lunch here with my kids. I loved the pulled duck cherry barbeque flat bread and, although I'm a picky eater, I could have found other selections I would have liked on the menu. The inside has a great feel (very much like the Simon Pearce restaurant in Vermont) and the atmosphere is soothing, but spirited. The host and hostess were warm and friendly to me and the children and gave them coloring books, let them sit up at the bar and chat with other kids. Decided to try this place out for something different. The food was good, but the service at the bar, was horrendous. She never asked how we were doing or if we needed anything or if our food was ok. She spent minimal time with us, even though the place was fairly empty. She maybe said 4 things to us. She seemed to spend more time with the "regulars" than anyone else. Love the new decor and atmosphere. The place was packed by 630 pm though so get there early. Really enjoyed the edamame spread with bread which had a nice flavor with lemon. I've visited a few times now and have had the organic burger which is melt in your mouth. Others had flatbread pizza (awesome with great flavors), pork chops (loved them), scallop dish (nice amount of scallops and was delicious), crab cakes (good). Drinks all arrived quickly and when I've eaten at the bar the bartenders were very knowledgeable about the menu and quick to see when you needed a refill! We'll definitely head back frequently as it's very close by. It is a bit loud with the acoustics in the bar area but a fun place to go all round. read more

I hosted a function for 50 people here this past weekend and I could not have been happier! The food was AMAZING, the staff was professional and courteous and the decor was stunning. Everyone that attended was overly impressed and had a wonderful afternoon. The owner, Ron, was there to oversee the event. There were three choices for lunch..salmon, steak and chicken. The guests each decided and placed their orders while salad was served. All the food came out promptly and was hot (not always the case with large orders). In additon to great food, their cocktail menu is full of fun, creative concotions. I would highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait go go back soon! read more

My first time visiting the Corner Stop Eatery was with my family visiting from NY - I wanted to take them to a place with good ambiance and a good menu (both food and drink). I have wanted to go here for a while so I decided why not try this out, it had good reviews. Dicey, I know. Anyway, we arrived and sat by the bar - what great atmosphere! This is exactly the type of place I was looking for. The long wood bar and décor is great. It also reflects the beachy surroundings of Cohasset. My party was immediately pleased (at least with the ambiance). My party ordered the sausage and fennel flatbread (tasty, but a bit salty for me) and the BBQ pork spareribs to split (we had 2 orderes, but these can easily be split between 2 people - so many ribs!). The ribs were delicious and cooked well, not too dry and the sauce was delicious. My mom got the salmon and dad got the burger - both were incredibly pleased! As for the drinks, while I don't remember the names, I had something that was bourbon and burnt orange - delicious but definitely for the bourbon lover and my sister had the Cadillac drink - similar to a margarita. Both were great! They use fresh juices and all of the ingredients in the drinks are made in house. Lastly - the staff was great. When we first sat down the AC was blowing and it was quite cold and they gladly lowered it. We also had many questions regarding the menu and the waitress was happy to help. I was very sad when DiNero's closed, in spite of their hideous dining room decor - the food had been consistently great for the 15 years I've lived in the neighborhood. When the Corner Stop Eatery opened, I knew they had big shoes to fill, and I wasn't disappointed. First of all, they gave the entire place a gorgeous makeover, a light & modern feeling with a coastal vibe. The menu is varied & extensive. The service is fantastic - and has been great every time I've returned. I have friends from Boston who are now willing to make the 1.5 hour drive to Hull more often just so they can come here for lunch/dinner! The grilled cheese sandwich is to die for, health be damned! I've had a terrific dining experience every time & can't wait to go back. It's my new favorite restaurant on the South Shore. Sorry Tosca's. read more

We've frequented Corner Stop for a number of years now. They have consistently managed to deliver a dining experience that combines high quality ingredients, preparation and presentation while being family friendly. Lately, however, the experience has been lacking and a large part of this downturn has been with the quality of the service. While turnover among service staff is to be expected at any eatery, the fall off in service has ruined the last few meals we've been served. From getting orders wrong (drinks and meals) to the timeliness of being served, everything seems to be off as of the writing of this review. This isn't a one time experience but has been consistent for the last couple of months. The overall business of the restaurant doesn't seem to play into these problems as they occur during peak and non-peak hours. Forgetting a drink order is understandable and certainly forgivable, but delivering a long ago written off cocktail to a table when everyone has their coats on and have been waiting on the check is unnecessarily frustrating. Service problems used to happen only occasionally but these inconveniences have become the rule rather than the exception. Even with the decline in service quality, the food continues to be excellent. It may be that there are some growing pains with a new influx of staff that will improve as they gain experience. For now, however, the quality of service has proven to be a drag on what has otherwise been an excellent family friendly south shore dining experience. read more

This restaurant did not live up to my expectations. The menu was awkward. Most restaurants offer bread after you place an order. This place gave 3 crusty small pieces of hard bread with an odd spread. Does not even go with the concept of "Corner Stop" which I would think would mean comfort food. French fries with the relatively small burger could have come from McDonald's...maybe they did. I had the salmon which was okay. Drinks were okay because they have one experienced bartender from DiNeros. Maybe they should look to Dineros for some of their recipes. Good luck. Won't be seeing me for a long while. read more

This review is based on several visits. "Inconsistency & Insincerity" with no follow thru is my mantra for this place ....The first time I went there the meatballs were cold in the middle. We sent them back, and they came out cold again...Since then we have had the pizza/flat bread and both times it has been dry as a board...The truffle fries have been overcooked and hard..The shrimp & grits dish, bland..The food is very 50/50...If prepared by one of the competent kitchen staff, the grass fed burger and the hippie dippie salad have been very very good.. ..... The bartender, which I am pretty darn sure had been drinking, offered everyone at the bar snacks but us..When we pointed out that we were the only ones without the snacks, she laughed apologetically, and still didn't bring any snacks..When I asked for my drink a certain way, she said she knew better how to make it and I would like her way...I didn't like it her way, as I told her I wouldn't ; however ; felt obligated to keep it after all the hullabaloo they made over how I will like their way.... A couple of months earlier they completely messed up a grass fed burger take out order..I didn't discover until I got home.I personally think this is one of the worst things that can happen when you are hungry and tired and just want what you ordered..I called immediately and Rachel apologized up & down..She offered to send me a Gift Card (never received it).She even said she would drop it off at my house..I called back two weeks later and the owner Ron, apologized, and said he would send the card or drop it off..Still no card as of yet. I called back last week after the drunk bartender experience and another guy answered, said he was a manager, and asked me if I had written a Yelp review about the drinking bartender, I said "No" I have not written a Yelp Review..He didn't believe me that I had not written a Yelp review and I still have not received my gift card..Overall this is a 50/50 experience depending on whether or not you care about consistency or sincerity by the people making and serving you the food and drink that goes into your body read more

I've been waiting for this new area restaurant to open since the former establishment, Dinero's was sold. I am vey disappointed in the dinner fare and very limited menu. I had the meatball appetizer with crusty bread. The meatballs must have microwaved prior to serving, because they were exceedingly dry. The sauce was pretty bad. This is exactly the face lift and update this restaurant needed! The new decor is absolutely beautiful and modern, and the food was amazing!!! We went with a party of four who each got something different and everyone loved their meal. I had the scallops which were really good. The work the new owners have done on the inside is excellent. Very comfortable particularly the old mirrored dining area-huge improvement! The staff is great and really working hard to please people. We went early on in their opening and I thought the food was very good and they were gracious enough to give us a dessert sampler for our patience-the night was a bit slow. The only reason I'm giving three stars vs four, is the limited and unique menu! Only six entrees with funky (my opinion) sides. Makes it fall way down on the list when deciding where to go-one or two New England comfort dishes to go along with the California theme would make a difference I think. read more

2 stars for the ambiance, i really wanted to like it , i had a gift card. Food took a long time to come out. Waitress apologized many times. I ordered an expensive lobster and steak, the steak had no taste and the lobster on the baked potato was way too salty, couldn't eat it. The waitress offered a side salad, dressing was bad. Then offered a free dessert apple.pie, left a bad taste could only eat a few bites. We came here for dinner recently and first noticed a great improvement on the tired old Dinero's decor. The host was very pleasant and our server was efficient and knowledgeable. The calamari app was rubbery- but the sauce it came in would have made a great fra diavalo. Our entrees- soft shell crabs and roast duck leg, were delicious. Our desserts were also quite yummy. We were impressed and will definitely be back. read more

I'm rarely as disappointed in a restaurant as I was here... I really wanted to love this place. No one at my table was satisfied- one meal was over cooked and dry, the other was undercooked and sent back, and the third seemed like it may have been prepared a week ago. A shame given how nice and welcoming the decor and atmosphere is, how great the menu looked, and how nice the staff was. I had the feeling they were understaffed, though, which is weird as it was a Saturday night and there were open tables at all times. Would return for just cocktails. Great bar area. Where to begin? This place is too great not to try. The food is prepared with passion and fresh ingredients. Can't believe it's only 3.5 stars it should be a 5/5! This place has a great atmosphere and décor - it feels cozy and airy at the same time. The menu options are good and our kids really like the choices on the kids menu. The food and service, however, are inconsistent. We've had some really good meals and it used to be one of the favorite places in our rotation but service and food to some extent has seemed to deteriorate a bit. We've had a couple excessively long waits and in one case an incorrect meal brought out at the end of the long wait. I don't have a huge problem with either issues per se but when you have been waiting for a meal for over an hour and then the correction takes another 45 minutes, the mistake entrée really should be comped. It's possible to have a really pleasant meal here, but it's just too much of a risk for us right now. read more

Terrible experience, don't waste your time coming here. My friends and I attempted to get dinner here at 5:30pm on a Sunday. While the parking lot didn't even appear full, the greeter informed us that there were too many people at the bar and we would need to eat in the "back dining room." Fine, no big deal. We were seated and told our server would be right with us. Fast forward 15 minutes, still nobody. At 20 minutes, a frazzled person showed up at the table and took our order and poured water into dirty looking glasses. We waited another 10 minutes before she came back (still without the drinks we ordered) to inform us that the restaurant is "out of" 4 of the things we had ordered at 5:30pm on a Sunday-no corn chowder,no chicken wings,no jalapeño poppers and no coconut rum. At this point we've been at the restaurant for close to 40 minutes, no drinks, no bread and now we have to look at the menu again to reorder our dinner. The whole time the server was condescending and unapologetic but did say she was "called in" because a bunch of servers were out and they needed help. While the decor and ambiance is very nice, we were treated as if it was a privilege for us dine here. No thanks! After 45 minutes of horrible service and still no drinks or food, we informed the server we were leaving. To which she responded "Ya know, it pains me just as much to tell you we are out of things as it is for you to hear it." Super condescending and really not helpful, we left based on the overall bad experience, not just because they were out of half of the menu at 5:30pm on a Sunday.... Maybe we were there on a really off day? But judging by the combined experience my gut says otherwise. read more

I just dined here for a late lunch on a Sunday. The place was quiet and the service was slow. The menu I thought could have offered more options in the app section. Most meals are very healthy options. The flat bread was very good.In keeping with this Italian neighborhood they should add another pasta dish. The bolognese was just O.K. more of a cream sauce then a red sauce. They should also add Nacho's and a hummus/veggie plate. The banana foster desert was very good. I loved the beach atmosphere and the fire place was nice since it was snowing out.Probably come back for the bar and flatbread not sure about lunch/dinner. read more
