Amazing sushi! The tuna was the best I've had since moving here 6 months ago. I'll be back.

Came upon this place because my usual place was closed on Monday. My friend and I just wanted take out sushi, looked up this place on YELP and said why not. We loved it! I was invited to a birthday dinner recently, which was my intro to Corner-Sushi, and it was wonderful! The food was amazing, the service, just beautiful-from the order-taking to the presentation. Tonight, I decided to take out, since I am within a 10 minute drive. Well, the take-out food was amazing!! I ordered a simple Spicy Yellowtail roll, a Salmon Avocado roll, a California roll, and 2 pieces of Salmon Sushi. Every roll was fresh, and delicious. I am writing this review purely out of selfishness. I want this restaurant to be discovered for the gem it is, and to be around for me! Definitely eat here. Solid sushi restaurant. Thursday night is a great night to go. Server mentioned that is when the specialty fish come in for the week. Ginger dressing on salad was good. Let's start with how clean and nicely decorated this place is. As soon as you walk in you are surprised by the friendly atmosphere and thick menu full of sushi options. The rolls are reasonably priced and I wish I had gone Mon-Sat because they have a great lunch special then. But of course it was Sunday, and so we ordered two rolls each and some crab Rangoon (a personal favorite of mine). While we waited for our sushi the waitress brought out a complimentary yoyo roll. From the first warm, crunchy bite I was hooked, and thankful that was one of the rolls I had ordered. Check out my pics for the roll with seaweed on it. It was creamy, warm, slightly crunchy, sweet, and well balanced. So yummy! We weren't let down by the above average rangoons that came next or the following rolls of sushi. I am less adventurous, and pregnant, so I went with the aforementioned yoyo roll and a California roll. The plain/basic favorite was creamy, crunchy and also well balanced. My friend enjoyed her meatier-more advanced, fishy choices as well and remarked they had a good fish to rice ratio, but I can't speak for taste. Overall, I would definitely recommend this sushi place and I may just return for my Monday off to enjoy the lunch special tomorrow. read more

This is a great place to get sushi. It's close to my workplace and it is a quick service for a great meal. They have a free appetizer and small dessert and most importantly good quality sushi and food. I went to Corner Sushi bar located on Dixie highway in the same shopping center that Planet fitness it located. I went there for dinner and got a water and two sushi rolls the first roll I had was the Rock N Roll roll which had shrimp tempura, krab, cheese, and fish eggs in it. The second roll I had was the Yoyo Roll which has krab stick and cream cheese deep fried. When we first got they greeted and sat us right a way. We did not sit there for long still our server came to our table asking us what we wanted to drink. While we were looking over the menu they gave us a complementary roll and soup. It did not take long for us to get our food and once we got it the food was delicious. Once we were done with our meals and right before we got our checks we got a little piece of chocolate cake on the house. The service was fantastic and you would not have expected how nice the inside was from how they outside looked. It was very clean inside, you could see the chefs making the food, and good music. Everything I experienced there was great I wouldn't say that there was anything they could have done better. read more

Friendly, modern, clean cool space. The service is friendly and attentive. The clientele is eclectic with millennials to families to seniors. The food is the best in St Augustine when it comes to sushi and Japanese. Very fresh, somewhat inventive but plenty of classics. They give you a terrific appetizer gratis. The specialty rolls are great especially Poke Man and especially the Out of Control Roll. The tempura was light and tasty. This was our second time and we'll be back soon. read more

This is the best sushi house we have found in the St Augustine area :-) The sushi is so consistently yummy and delicious and they never go wrong. Differing from other restaurants, Corner-Sushi had a very interesting atmosphere. It was set-up like a more expensive restaurant that had a colorful-asian themed ambiance to it. For example, there was leather seating and marble walls. The asian decor was also bright and colorful, and the low prices did not match the outstanding food or atmosphere whatsoever. Also, I found it interesting how the exterior of the building was small and plain but the inside was bigger and much more elaborate. I liked the Japanese/Asian ambience because the noise level was low and the staff was incredibly polite. Between the great food, low prices, complimentary soup and dessert, and overall atmosphere, it is hard to find something wrong with this restaurant, but there is always room for improvement. I would advise Corner-Sushi to expand upon their desserts. I don't believe this restaurant had much of a dessert selection, if any at all. At the end of your meal, you receive a complimentary dessert which is a very small coffee cake. The coffee cake is very good, but when I wanted another larger one, they did not have any available to serve. It would be a great business decision for Corner-Sushi to make these coffee cakes larger and add them to their menu. It would be beneficial because when people received the complimentary dessert, they may be more inclined to order another larger one off the menu. Then Corner-Sushi would be able to make a profit off of these larger coffee cakes by adding them to their menu and introducing them through free samples. Overall, my experience at Corner-Sushi was amazing and I am now a dedicated, life-long customer. read more

I dont understand the one star review. I have been all over the world and this is by far one of the better sushi stops stateside (mainland) ((Hawaii holds its own)). Easily the best in STA. The fish tasted very fresh and was very affordable; which is almost unheard of. Not to mention the other items on the menu and the service. Visited here with my family today for my fathers birthday. It's a bit of a hole-in-the-wall location but don't let that lead you to underestimate this place. Being from South Florida I'm accustomed to arguable some of the best sushi in the country and this place I easily place on my top 10 all-time list. Elegant interior design completed with beautiful wall tile and very cozy seating. The sushi is delivered to them fresh, not frozen and it makes all the difference. Very fresh tasting, wonderful dish presentations and outstanding service. We came here for my fathers birthday and they overheard us talking about it, so they went in the back and prepared a sushi-cake with a candle, small pieces of coconut cake for everyone and brought it out to us singing happy birthday together with us. Most definitely will come back here and highly recommend to everyone in the surrounding areas. Thank you Corner Sushi for a wonderful meal and heartwarming gesture!!! read more
