Our party of 6 raved about the food. Good thing we contacted the establishment that we were arriving at noon, as there were customers waiting to be seated. On the phone we were told no reservation needed, that was confussing because when we arrived we were asked if we had reservation. The empoyee/manager near by said "we have your table ready". I gotta say, I was underwhelmed by the quality of the combo meal and for a place that advertises, and supposedly specializes in BBQ, it was a real disappointment. We saw the ratings here on Yelp, so we figured we'd give this place a try today. We've driven past it dozens of times but had never stopped in before today. It did NOT disappoint! The staff were so friendly and welcoming when we arrived, even though we had tons of questions. They offered bite-sized samples of different meats for us to taste, to help us figure out what we wanted to order. We got the tri-tip, beef brisket, and brisket burnt edges, and every one was mouthwatering and tasty. All of the meats were tender and easy to bite through without needing a knife to cut it smaller. The tri-tip even though it's a lean cut was still tender and juicy. The beef brisket was even more so, falling apart easily when we picked it up. And the brisket burnt edges just melts in your mouth. We also tried all 5 sauces with our order and each one was delicious in a distinctive way, bringing out different flavors to play against the savory meat. My husband is intrigued and wants to head back on a Saturday to try the beef ribs, as that's the only weekday those are served. Only two downsides: there is not much space to eat on-site; just a patio space out back, which wasn't ideal for a hot day like today, so we took everything to-go. And the sides were not quite as flavorful as the meat entrees, but still good. (Granted, I like stuff spicy, and that's probably not on brand for a BBQ place.) We ordered a small feast (received the wrong sides in the wrong size and no bread) 1/2lb Brisket (received at best 1/4 worth). All food was cold upon receipt. My apologies as I cannot recall our server name, but everyone welcomed us when we walked in and we were immediately greeted even though the host was actively helping someone else. When we left EVERYONE wished us a good night and thanked us for coming. Customer service is key for me and that is one of the main reasons I gave 4 stars. 2. Food. Our kids loved the kids burger. Now, they are small so please if your child can put some food down, this might not be the option. My 4 year old took the whole thing down! We had them put the brisket on the side and my partner ate it lol. My partner ordered the medium meat fries with brisket. He loves brisket and he LOVED this brisket. Said it melt in his mouth. I ordered the one meat plate. Only two ribs and I just feel for the price I should have gotten one more rib. (Just a note). However side sizes are far larger than any other BBQ place so don't change a thing. I got Mac n cheese. I like a certain type of Mac n cheese. Super creamy is my preference, so it's not my type but I don't knock em for it because I know most people will like it. Now...the brisket baked beans. Okay, note I HATE brisket. But these were the best baked beans I've ever tasted in my life. Drooling thinking about them. So, please try them. I opted to pay $1.50 for the cornbread. Also, on more rib with the one meat plate please. Just one more. 4. Ambiance - from the outside you're expecting a very large place. It's surprisingly smaller than expected but comfy and welcoming. No complaints. Recommendations - well, one more Rib please on the one meat place for the price it just makes sense. Give a drink menu. We didn't realize you all served alcohol, unless we were so hungry we didn't pay attention to it on the menu. But didn't realize people had drinks until we were headed out. I been working my way all around Southern California trying different BBQ joints, and came across Cornerstone BBQ. I must of Come at the right time cause i was seated at a table right away.(was busy) Since Im on this journey of BBQ Eating I ordered the biggest plate they offered seen in the Video also adding Sausage To the meal. The sausage actually being my favorite protein of the whole meal making me glad i added it. Now overall the food was OK. One thing I wished the food was warmer/ on the hotter side served. Ribs were a little on the tougher side and little dry But the smoke and seasoning flavor was there. The brisket was Juicy and the smoke and seasoning flavor was there had about 1/4" smoke ring. The chicken was a little over seasoned. the pulled pork was a little dry. I did order cornbread which was really good but I didn't get it until my 3rd time asking and by the that time i was getting full. They did give me an extra piece cause of the delay. Thanks for being thoughtful The sides were OK but i dont have much to say on them. Overall the food was good enough to eat.
