There's nothing fancy about Cornerstone which is why I like it. It's the place to go for a large plate at a reasonable price. I would rather go to Cornerstone instead of Denny's or IHOP. I usually stop in occasionally when I'm in a hurry and need to fuel up before work. read more

Was craving country gravy, so I turned to my trusty Yelp to locate a good spot, and glad I did! I had the "mini breakfast" -- 1 egg, 2 pieces bacon, country potatoes, and toasted sourdough -- and a side order of a biscuit with country gravy. First, the gravy was creamy and thick, and bonus! I got two biscuits instead of one, but was only charged for one! The bacon was thick and meaty, and the potatoes were just the perfect amount of buttery. I will definitely return! read more

Great little Whole in the wall where the food is real, right off the grill. Loved seeing the short order cooks back there with the full house in their zone. A tad bit aged but I'll call it patina. . Potato platter is still great after many years. Oh, and the coffee served by our busy yet very attentive waitress was wonderful. read more

This is a compliment but it just smelled like a diner. Coffee, bacon, pancakes? I'm not sure what it was but it makes you hungry when you walk in. The brown coffee cups gave me nostalgia and the no-nonsense servers were right out of the movies. The food... generous portions at a GREAT price. It was clear there were many regulars who knew everyone down to the cooks. That's a good sign. I got a scramble and it was enormous. Enormously delicious! Big portions, fast prompt service.

Had driven by a number of times and finally decided to stop for breakfast. The parking lot is always full. The interior is a little old but homey. Ordered the pancake combo, two eggs, two bacon, two sausage and pancakes for just 6.75. Not bad. Got some home fries on the side as well. Everything came at once and was delicious. I got four bacon instead of the sausage, it was thick perfect bacon, potatoes were a huge portion, crispy on the outside. Pancakes were scratch made and the eggs (scrambled) were.... Scrambled eggs. Anyways, everything was fresh, homemade and delicious. It wasn't fancy, just good, home cooked food. read more

Five stars for friendly, quick service. No stars for the food. Negative stars. It is SO TERRIBLE. I'm all for the occasional greasy spoon but this was just cheap, yucky, fatty grossness. Huevos Ranchero was barely acceptable. Chicken strips were too hard to chew through like they were microwaved too long and they came way after the rest of the food. Definitely just an average breakfast place: very small inside so not great for big groups. I ordered the special, California Benedict, which came out before anyone else's order and probably had been sitting for a while because it was cold. Everyone else's food came out separately too which makes it hard to enjoy a meal together when people are still waiting and your food continues to get colder. Not cool! Also my sister asked the waitress what she recommended from either breakfast or the lunch menu and she was a little rude and didn't know how to answer so she said she didn't know. How do you not know your menu!?? Overall disappointed. The portions were big though and my sisters burger and sweet potato fries came out hot and were good so not an all together bad experience just won't be another visit for me. read more

Met my parents here for breakfast on Father's day and the place was completely packed. Great Service, the coffee was never empty. The food was very good and served quickly we arrived at 9:15 and we were out the door at 9:55. I don't think anyone at the table cleaned their plate the servings were generous and tasty. What a find! My friend mentioned this diner for breakfast. I can only add to what others have already mentioned. I admit being a little concerned as we drove up. It's not going to win an award for decorating. It's a little diner with "interesting" old decor. But the food was good, and there was a lot of it. They kept the coffee cup filled. Great service too! I've seen some people say this is a greasy spoon place. That wasn't my experience. This woman can't handle grease. There was none with my vegie potato platter or my friend's eggs and bacon. The toast was very lightly buttered without me having to ask for it that way. That's a huge thing with me, and that's just another reason why I'll back. read more

This place is the perfect breakfast spot. My husband and I like to get up early on Saturdays sometimes and if you make it here before 8:30am you can get their early bird special which is 3 items for $4.50!! When I first ordered this I assumed it was going to be smaller portions but it definitely isn't. It's such and amazing deal and there are a lot of items to choose from. The service is usually great, though they do get understandably busy. Great staff, plenty of leftovers. Quick service. We have been here before. Plenty of parking. Large pancakes, I made breakfast with the large pancake at home the next morning. Long bacon strips, I had much shorter bacon strips at a larger chain of restaurants. We will back soon. read more

Pretty good local diner. We've lived in the area for 20 years and tried this place for the first time today. You walk in and there's a sign that reads "please find a clean table and sit down." The place was packed which is always a good sign! The portions are huge. The short-stack of blueberry pancakes were way too much for one so leftovers will be great! My dad loved his omelette and believed no milk or water was added to the eggs which he appreciated. The home fries are more like a crunchy smashed potato - really good. Cool little breakfast spot. You wouldn't notice this place normally, but I found it on yelp a tried it out for mothers day breakfast. We walked in and immediately sat down at the nearest open table. A server came right over and gave us drinks, and took our order. We received our food within 5-10 minutes of when we first arrived. Food was good. I am amazed at how fast they were and the quality of food that was turned out. Definitely will go again. read more

When I first started dating my now husband he really wasn't interested in this place but after trying other breakfast places and not liking the ordinary food he really started coming around and now this is his favorite breakfast spot as well. This is the best breakfast in Sacramento hands down! I used to go to different breakfast houses trying them all and Cornerstone is the best without comparison! Waffle Experience, Cricket, CoCos and all the hole in the wall shops dont compare to Cornerstone. The prices are insane, the food is always hot and served fast and EVERYTHING is great. From the eggs to the gravy to the pancakes and the omelettes are the best youll ever have! I frequent Cornerstone atleast once every other week and will continue to do so for many years.
