Sadly disappointed. Awfully crowded and noisy, but the server was very friendly. Food came out fast, but my pancakes came without syrup. I had to wait to get the server's attention before I could get the syrup. When I finally got to eat the pancakes a couple bites had eggshell in it. Swiss cheese on the omelette was the processed type that sticks to the roof of your mouth and tastes like plastic. The bill came and I was charged for an item I didn't order. The cashier gave it back to the server who said it was accurate. I reminded her of what we didn't eat, and she adjusted the bill. In the meantime, patrons were lining up behind me. I love to go out to breakfast on Saturday mornings, I am not an early bird I am more of a mid morning girl. So one Saturday mid morning my family decides to forgo making our own breakfast and let someone else make it for us. I am always on the look out for a good place to get breakfast, a place where I don't feel like a sheep being driven in and rushed to get out of there, a place where they are going to bring out my eggs and they will still be hot and the order is right. I think I found that place. Since our first venture out to this cozy, home-style restaurant I have returned once more and felt the pull to go back every morning since. When we walked in to Cornerstone for the first time we were greeted by a sign that said very simply "SIT" so we looked around and found ourselves a cozy little table and then we located the high chairs and pulled one over for the kid. The menus were tucked in nicely between the sugar and jelly on the table and soon we were looking at a large variety of breakfast foods. With our coffee cups turned over we looked at the menus. We were greeted by our waitress very quickly and our coffee cups were soon filled and juice arrived for the toddler. I looked to the wall and located a white board that had three different specials written on it, they looked tempting. I went for Eggs Benedict, my other half had a short stack and eggs with a side of biscuits and gravy, the little one had a egg scrambled with cheese and a side of wheat toast. Before I could blink our food sat before us piping hot and all there, I was shocked first and then amazed. My breakfast was very good, the best part was the home potatoes they were wonderful, seasoned to perfection and nice and crispy. I tasted the biscuits and gravy and they were very good too, the gravy had just the right balance of pepper and sausage. Since coming here the first time, I have ordered some of the specials very good. I am still amazed at how quick and good the service is. The two men who run the griddle are experts and make a dam good breakfast. I have found my new favorite breakfast place, I will be coming back when ever I feel the urge to have two griddle masters make me a insanely good breakfast. read more

Prices are good for the quality. They use real butter, the bacon was tasty but the cheese on the omelet was the cheap craft kind. Our bill was just under $19 for the two of us and for $3 more we could have had breakfast at Tower and Crepeville which are outstanding. The coffee was great, very drinkable without the need for adornments. The meal was good but not great. We won't be going again. read more

Mmmmm Cornerstone. Love their poached eggs - always cooked perfect! Their breakfast potatoes or "home fries" are 98% of the time perfect. Service is ok. Waitresses are super friendly, but wish they could be a tad bit more attentive. Once your order is placed the food comes out pretty fast. Bacon is good here. Too good! English muffins...mmm! Pancakes are pretty good - syrup is yummy. I've also ordered the veggie omelette too. Veryyyy big! This though was not my favorite - toooooooo greasy. Kinda grossed me out. Overall this place is a keeper. Wish they'd fix up the inside so it wasn't so divey looking. :P read more

yelped my way to this place after not knowing what to eat for breakfast. With reviews saying colossal portions and good reviews i gave it a shot. Had the chorizo scrambler and the patty melt in one sitting. Serving sizes were huge, over all taste of breakfast was okay. Nothing amazing. Seating and time for food to arrive in front of my face was fast. Service was moderately on the slow side for refilling coffee and returning with your sides. Though edible, the pancakes were overshadowed by the yellow crust formation on the ring of the cup of iced water that was provided. Additionally, I ordered a biscuit with an egg over it and some sort of mysterious dark spots were apparent in either the egg or the biscuit. My stomach was bubbling before I made it to my car. I moved here a year ago and have been looking for a place that can compete with my favorite diner from my hometown. I finally found it! The omelette with hash-browns and biscuit was amazing. My suggestion-order a side of gravy and salsa to pour on top. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. read more

We have visited the Cornerstone probably 10 times in the last year and we have always sat at the same table! We have never had to wait and I LOVE THAT! Get there before 7:30 & your breakfast can be $2.75 weekdays (3 choices of things like fruit, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, bacon, home fries....etc.) They are always quick on coffee refills too! read more

Absolutely love this place!! Ya its a lil busy & its a lil old but they always give you BIG portions for the amount you pay. The "Home Fries" are awesome & I love to mix them with just about any dish I get. Sometimes when they are swampped busy the svc can be a bit lackluster but honestly when they are like that they really try hard to help out. I LOVE this place and I go just about every weekend. I'm a big fan of their blueberry pancakes and home fries. I also like that they serve beakfast all day (which is nice for those of us that are NOT early birds) and our food comes out pretty quickly. The staff is friendly and the prices are cheap. read more

Stopped in 1st time today. They were fairly busy and service seemed a bit slow as a result. The servers were moving quickly, but seemed like they did not have quite enough help for the amount of customers this morning. I was pleased that I was able to get a vegetarian omelette, billed as 4 egg omelette, with 1/2 eggs and 1/2 egg whites. The omelette comes with choice of cheese (on top) which I forgot to specify type and waitress did not ask. It arrived with American cheese, not my favorite. She offered to switch it out, but I declined that option. However, when I started eating it, I saw that the eggs were not quite cooked enough. She said "Let's fix that." She returned a few minutes later with an entirely new vegetarian omelette with chedder on it, which was seriously better than the American cheese. The homefries were ok, not fabulous, but passable. The English muffin came with butter on the side, as I had requested. My husband ordered a special, "San Juan" platter which was homefries, scrambled eggs, cheese and pork carnitas and had a biscuit also. He enjoyed it. The prices on the menu are very reasonable and for the price, the quality of the food is very good. (Sometimes we are willing to pay more for a higher quality product.) We did not try the coffee today. Overall the experience was good. I would probably try to go when it is a bit quieter, to allow the service experience to be better. Certainly, they seemed to have an attitude of good service, but it seemed they were just too busy this morning to have quicker service. The menu indicates that they have "early bird special" prices, including on weekends. The women's restroom did not have paper towels in the dispenser. They had a roll sitting on the sink which was partially wet. I did not use any, as that seemed to be unsatisfactory for hygiene to me. The dining room decor is very simple, not particularly appealing, but to spiff it up more would probably require them to raise their prices. For the price, the food was very good, and a good value. We expect to visit again sometime. read more

For what it is it is petty good. Nothing special. Good sized portions of decent food at a good price served quickly by a very friendly and attentive wait staff. The coffee is serviceable yet never empty. Honestly, between the french toast combo I had and the pancake combo my wife had, there was nothing I don't make better at home. Great little Whole in the wall where the food is real, right off the grill. Loved seeing the short order cooks back there with the full house in their zone. A tad bit aged but I'll call it patina. . This is a compliment but it just smelled like a diner. Coffee, bacon, pancakes? I'm not sure what it was but it makes you hungry when you walk in. The brown coffee cups gave me nostalgia and the no-nonsense servers were right out of the movies. The food... generous portions at a GREAT price. It was clear there were many regulars who knew everyone down to the cooks. That's a good sign. I got a scramble and it was enormous. Enormously delicious! This place is small and busy, but bustling with smiling waitresses and happy eaters! I had the chicken fried steak, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and biscuit. Everything on the plate was good: steak crispy, gravy creamy, eggs cooked well and smothered in cheese, potatoes crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and biscuit nicely toasted for an extra crunch. My partner had the special of the day which was fried chicken strips on biscuits and gravy. The chicken strips were surprisingly good and it made for a simple, yet creative southern-inspired dish. Coffee was good for a home brew, and kept on coming without question. Food was served quickly and hot. Great little local spot. Will be returning! read more

O.M.G. The portion sizes here have to be seen to be believed! Everything was quickly prepared and it was very clean in here. Pancakes so light and fluffy, I thought they would float away! (except I ate so much I will probably sink like a stone...)Staff was SO friendly! The outside of the building looks like a dive, but DO NOT BE FOOLED!! Yum! Yum!
