I used to come here all the time as a kid and loved it. Yesterday was my first time back in awhile and it was just okay. The restaurant has good food, but not super great. The ice cream shop and stair areas weren't the cleanest, and all the events / dinner shows aren't going on due to COVID (which is totally understandable). Somethings I enjoyed though were the gift shop, the popcorn and the friendly staff. Now even though I said all of this, I think kids really get a kick out of this. What's not to love about the Turkey Farm?! I have very find memories of coming here as a child, and still enjoy going wherever I am back home. The restaurant is simple and delicious and in the summer there are tons of vintage, arts and crafts, and garage sales on the property. Make sure to run through the gift shop for unique finds, Michigan decor, and old-timey candy. There's even a cute ice cream parlor. And bonus: the outside is dog friendly, which I love! read more

We attended the dinner theater. If I could review the dinner and the show separately, I would give the dinner 1 star and the show 5 stars. The food had no flavor at all. Everything tasted pre-packaged - especially the mashed potatoes. It reminded us of a very cheap cafeteria. Even if we spent more, we would rather pay for a dinner we would actually enjoy. So after our aborted attempt at breakfast (ref. my review of the Cracker Barrel in Battle Creek) we backtracked to the east and decided to stop at Turkeyville for some hot turkey sandwiches and the fixings. Cracker Barrel had destroyed any hope for breakfast for us, so the next direction was to eat turkey. I had never heard of Turkeyville until I was in my 20's. My parents obviously ran with the wrong sort of people. Why they bothered with a membership at the Beacon Club when Turkeyville was around is a truth that eludes me. No, it doesn't. I just can't wrap my head around Turkeyville. Maybe I ordered the wrong things off the menu but the food left me once again largely unimpressed. I can find tastier turkey anywhere. I can make better mashed potatoes. I can make a better pie. Making hot turkey sandwiches or mashed potatoes or a pie should not be that daunting a task. If a sandwich is advertised as the world's best, it should be at least in the Top Ten. This was not. I respect the business model and how the owners have tried to diversify with ice cream and musical theatre and the wacky Americana home decor. The owners bring in car shows and flea markets (like the one we walked through today). There is definitely a demographic that is attracted to this place because the place was packed inside and out. We saw several very nice Mustangs and an exquisite Corvette in the parking lot. The staff were unfailingly pleasant. The bathrooms were clean. We found a couple of things at the flea market to buy. Unexpected things. Maybe even things tainted with irony. So the day was not a disaster. read more

I am hard pressed to remember a time when the "Turkey Farm" wasn't the go to for just good food. Nothing fancy about this place it is just a walk back in time to what farm life was like Over the years it has grown and grown so you can always find something new. On this trip I enjoyed a Sloppy Tom, Nancy and Mom both had the Buttered Turkey sandwiches. We finished our meals with pie. I had a large slice of banana cream, Nancy had peanut butter, and Mom had her usual rhubarb pie. The pie is always fresh and portion sizes like their sandwiches are very satisfying. I almost forgot to mention how friendly and helpful all the staff is. Even though you order and pickup your meal at the counter they bus your table after your complete your meal. read more

The Turkey 'Meat'loaf is a horrible waste of money. Where in the Hell is the turkey? We got it to take home, and was looking forward to it. What we got was a pan of breadcrumbs. My wife had always told me about growing up in Battle Creek and going to Turkeyville, and we finally made our way there for Easter to check it out after years of her not being there. We started in their gift shop and loved the plethora of items that were available (from Christmas, to Americana, to bakery items) and ended up picking up a couple of home decor pieces for the house and some frozen turkey bratwurst. After taking that to our car, we went into the restaurant side of the building and ordered some sandwiches. I got the Sloppy Tom. It came out immediately and was pretty good. I will be back to order again when we're in town next. Lots of meat with a good sloppy joe sauce. My wife got the grilled cheese on white bread (ordered with wheat, but it came on white). She enjoyed it as well. Great service, great food, and great decor. It looks like they quite the establishment with loads of events for the family. read more

They have the worst mashed potatoes imaginable. I cannot even call them instant potatoes! They were watery and very bland. The gravy was good, but could not cover for the mashed potatoes. The grilled cheese with smoked turkey on homemade cheese bread was delicious. I have no idea how they make the bread so fluffy and light. Atmosphere was nice - there were a lot of people there today - it took us almost 40 minutes to get through the line. read more

I would have never known this place existed if it wasn't for my in laws telling me where it was. There was no signage that I saw on the highway for it. What a great treat! The place was packed on the Friday night we were passing through. They even had a live band outside. We waited in the line to order our food and perused the chalkboard menu as we tried to make our decisions. I ordered the turkey hot plate and it was turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing and cranberry sauce. This place is legit! So good! It was Thanksgiving in July! I had to get a scoop of ice cream in the little shop where they also have fudge. There was a whole other side to shop in, but I didn't get to try that on this trip. This isn't a place to visit for culinary brilliance, but it's worth experiencing as an unusual bit of Americana. The turkey dinner was good, although the meat assortment wasn't as varied as in the lobby picture. I liked the stuffing and cranberry sauce, but the mashed potatoes were featureless and the turkey barley soup was Campbell's caliber at best. The most intriguing item was the zingy vinegar slaw. The adjacent store contains items like canned turkey, pickled vegetables and unusual jams. There's also an arcade. read more

There are several shops on the property, a dinner theater and an occasional vendor market on the weekends. Good place to take your out of town families for something different. I have mixed opinions about Cornwell's Turkeyville. It is certainly a Battle Creek landmark and I admire a local business that's done well, but it is past whatever prime it had. The atmosphere is like a Cracker Barrel, but it's clear that the décor has not been updated since the place opened in the 70s. The serving is cafeteria style and sadly the food is what you'd expect from a cafeteria. It's not that the food is bad; it's just very dull and unimaginative. On the positive side, there is a nice ice cream shop and there is often a flea market on the lawn outside the restaurant. The place is kid friendly and your grandparents would like it as well (which is why 90% of the customers are over 60). Turkeyville is a place frozen in time and sadly is not adapting to the reality that it's primary clientele is the senior set and will not be patronizing the place much longer. I wish them luck, but an updated atmosphere and more daring menu items would go a long way to insuring a continued future. read more

I like Turkeyville because it's fun, and I've gone there for years and years. My dad used to love bringing the family on a Saturday evening for dinner. I was thrilled to be able to finally share the experience with my family recently. The food is traditional turkey dinner fare - certainly not trying to be imaginative! The staff are really nice, and helpful to the older folks especially. The ice cream parlor has lots of goodies besides just ice cream. We also sampled some fudge, and there was a variety of popcorns as well. My five-and-a-half year old was excited to go out to the barn and see the animals, but I don't think it was quite warm enough for the animals to enjoy seeing her yet. Both kids enjoyed the playground. Luckily I think I was the only one looking forward to browsing the little shops, since they were closed before we arrived for the evening. Honestly, one of the parts of our visit that positively warmed my heart was watching the smiles on the faces of the older visitors as my kids ran amok ;) Okay, so I'd never let my kids run amok, but I love to see them spreading joy, and the crowd at Turkeyville was very receptive to that. read more

Cornwell's has been a staple in SW Michigan for generations. I took my 85 y/o mother to the Dinner Theater for her birthday. We were both very impressed and entertained by the current show ("Nunsensations"). I would highly recommend it to anyone for a fun evening out. "Dinner Theater" is thought sometimes to be only for the aged- but I feel any adult would enjoy this show, especially if you were raised Catholic or look forward to Las Vegas visits. There is some audience participation which made it more fun for both of us. I appreciated that before the show began they announced that mother was celebrating her birthday. The food served is much like you would expect for a Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey (of course), dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, squash, and a couple of other items that I forgot. Fresh rolls and home style cranberry dressing are brought to your table. Unlimited soft drinks and your choice of one of 4 desserts (I had the coconut cream pie) of the day are included in the price. Beer, wine and cocktails are available for an additional charge. If you'd rather just see the show without dinner- they perform a matinee on Tuesday-Saturday afternoons at 2:00 PM. I feel that the price is right, the food was very good so why not give them a try for an entertaining evening? read more

The turkey was like chewing leather and the grease didn't even give it enough moisture. It felt like I was eating saltines without water- it took all the saliva from my mouth. You can tell everything was pre-made with how fast the food got out. The service was great, but the setting felt like a 1980's grandma's house who really loved wood as a decorating piece. My wife & I recently stopped by Turkeyville on our way out of Marshall. I saw a lot of ok reviews and figured we'd have the turkey dinner. Sadly, our food resembled my childhood recollection of an elementary school hot lunch. The cole slaw was dressed with a vinegary sweet sauce that was sour and cloyingly sweet. The mashed potatoes were from a mix with a tasteless white gravy. And the turkey was thinly sliced meat with a rubbery texture. The cranberries were soft very sweet. On a more positive note, this place offers family attractions and is a well known destination for car clubs and other clubs. The portions were adequate and the dinner was about $12. They offer sandwiches, dinners, lots of sides and picnic table seating with a panoramic view of pumpkins, train rides and lots of children. So if you are a family of 5, this place may be for you. read more

Turkeyville is kind of one of those funny misnomers. Going to Turkeyville expecting to have a Thanksgiving in March feast IS what you'll get, but it's not the best turkey with all the fixings you'll ever eat to say the least. The food isn't terrible, if I'm rating base on food alone it'd be a 2 star for the turkey, 4 for ice cream, 20 for fudge. This really gets a 4 star for the overall experience. From the gambler friendly arcade to the spend whatever you have left gift shop fully of kitschy chic decor, tasty looking baked goods, jellies, soup mixes to some culinary oddities like boneless canned turkey and inappropriately named barbecue rubs, and then toys and kitchen goods, it was huge and fun and slightly schizophrenic but in the best possible way. We got there just after 6pm and when we found out that their hours were now until 8 since the season changed, we closed the place down. My son is already begging to go back. read more

Food tastes like it's from a box now! Noodles are mush and potato's are like water. Gravy has no flavor and has to be from powder. Has gone downhill in the last year. Cornwell's has been a favorite spot from our sons to our granddaughters now. Where else you take the kids where they have a play area? Last weekend they had train rides from an amateur railroad group. The girls loved it. They always have fun, but don't like it when the player piano or the model railroad are broken. We usually always like the food, but this year have had issues with sandwich buns that were overdone, orders that didn't come out of the kitchen correctly. It would appear that the kitchen portion needs closer supervision. Remains a family favorite. read more

This place reminds me of a tourist trap you might pass when driving out west on Route 66. We should have known better and just turned around when we pulled into a parking lot full of tour busses but we continued on inside to turkey hell. The inside decor is like Cracker Barrel on steroids. We were the youngest people in the joint by at least 40 years yet the cafeteria style dinning was reminiscent of my college dorm. I was so disappointed by the food. Dry turkey with bland gravy and stuffing, like a mediocre thanksgiving cooked by my 90 year old grandmother who is just too tired to care. I've been coming here for 30+ years and still love the Turkey Salad. The new items on the menu are nice like beer, new deserts, new sandwiches and more cheeses. Bikes nights are a blast with good music cold beer and monster BBQ Turkey legs. Ask for a turkey salad in a waffle cone it will blow your mind!! While I haven't been to a show yet I have seen that they are well attended and sever cocktails. The ice cream and other sweets like fudge and popcorn are done well. If you Crave the turkey salad like I do they have a deli in the gift shop and you can take as much as you can afford. This is a very family friendly place to come anytime of the year!! read more

This review is from last week, Thanksgiving day. Despite a hostess that had no clue what she was doing, helped by someone who wasn't helpful, we had a nice time for our Thanksgiving dinner. We decided to eat out somewhere completely different and made reservations here. It's not fine dining by a long shot, but adequate. I didn't have to cook, clean or company clean the house. Our server was wonderful, doing as best as she could with diners packed everywhere. Turkey - yup, it was turkey, plentiful and moist. The potatos were from a box, the salad was as small as it could be. The cranberry relish and stuff were good, might have been the highlights of the meal. The pumpkin pie was spiceless - the pie at Costco tasted better (and might be a good option for next year). I am thankful that someone else cooked, I got to spend time with family, I was able to overtip the waitress, and that I could afford this option. read more

It has kind of the flavor of a 'Cracker Barrel' restaurant, with a very nice gift shop. I was not too impressed with the food, as it has kind of a cafeteria feel to it and the main dish is turkey. I understand it is a favorite for locals on Thanksgiving that do not want to cook that day. They have a great ice cream shop, and I enjoyed that. The grounds are lots of fun for kids, but the little stores outside of the main building were not very special. There is sometimes a flea market on the grounds, and that is sometimes a great place to visit and spend a few hours. The main building itself has a dinner theatre, which I have never attended, but I have heard that it is a nice experience. read more
