Straight up New York pizza. I was born and raised in Staten Island, NY, and I can tell you: if you're missing (or want to try) pizza that actually tastes exactly like it does in New York--look no further! Since I moved out of NY, I've been missing good ol' NY pizza. Who knew I'd find it on a beach vacation in North Carolina! I haven't yet tried their other menu items (aside from their round pies themselves), but based on the quality of the pizza I bet they're also delicious. I'd order again from here any day of the week. Firstly, the food is great. Over the last 15 years I've gladly eaten at Corolla Pizza and just about had every item on the menu. And so has the rest of our posse we drag to Corolla every year at this time. And they all agree, Corolla Pizza is the Bomb. Pizza is great, Cheesesteaks are Philly style. This place was prefect for my hunger family - 4 teenagers (12-14) and 2 adults. We ordered two large pepperoni pizzas, one cheese and one Hawaiian pizza. All were hot and yummy. The crust was crisp and soft - great for dipping in ranch near the end of the slice. We had one pizza for left overs so plenty to go around. Quite possibly the worst pizza I've ever had. Got The Margarita--wish I had taken a picture. There were CHUNKS of garlic, like literally cloves of garlic, all over--disgusting. They couldn't chop it a bit more finely? The basil leaves were tiny dried up shriveled bits, not entire leaves, and they put barely any on the pizza. The tomatoes were watery and flavorless (I get this kind of pizza a lot so I know that when restaurants feature tomatoes on pizza it's because they have flavorful, juicy and yummy tomatoes--not mushy watery gross tomatoes that you'd hide in a sandwich or something). Barely any cheese at all and the mozzarella that was on there was so cooked into the pizza it was almost burned on and you could barely taste it. I'm one of those people that says "you know what they say about a bad blow job"...about pizza. AKA, even bad pizza is still good because it's pizza. To me, even frozen pizza--EVEN Tombstones or Tony's--is still good to me (I don't really consider it pizza, I more consider it just a yummy junk food to eat). To put it plainly, that's how much I like pizza, the best of the best and the lowest quality...and threw the majority of this pizza in the trash. Also, tried my boyfriend's--The Buffalo Chicken Pizza--hoping I could fill up on some of his instead, and it was GROSS. The "blue cheese dressing and hot sauce" tasted like it was basically a dressed up mayonnaise, it was so gross I could barely finish my slice. Even the CRUST was bland, burned and dry. I will NEVER pay money for this garbage again! P.S. We were told 45 minutes and I think it was over an hour and a half until we got the pizza, and my boyfriend had to go outside and track them down to get it. -_- read more

Unfortunately in the OBX I have gotten no compliments but a lot of stares. After five days here I finally got a compliment from one of the staff at this place which gives me hope that not everybody in the south it's still racist. Almost 3.5. Mildly inconsistent pizza. Sometimes it's great and others it's very "eh." Still, it's the best pizza on North 12 - probably on the OBX. Never had anything else here, but it beats out Pizzazz by a mile. The owner is a former Philly guy - big props for that. read more

The pizza itself (flavor wise) tasted good to us and it arrived in the time frame we were told (45 min to an hr). Really bad thing is it was barely warm when it arrived. We ate as soon as we he brought it and was really disappointed at how it could have been that cool especially since we are only a mile at most away from them. The pizza was not cooked consistently either which isn't a big deal to us but to some it might be. It was gummie on some pieces and others it seemed to be cooked thru. I'm a little surprised at all the great reviews on this and that people are saying this is the best pizza place in the OBX to eat. We come here every year. Not only is this some of the best pizza you can get on the Outer Banks, it also happens to be good pizza period, and just so you know, my pizza palette is quite discerning. Don't waste your money or calories anywhere else for pizza in OBX. Recently we ordered a pie and ate it outside at the picnic table next to the parking lot, while we drank beers out of paper bags. Yes, I am all class. My only complaint was that this particular pie was a tad under baked. It could have used a few more minutes in the pizza oven. We actually ended up taking home a second pie this day, which they par baked for us so we could finish baking it later for dinner. But what set this place apart to get 5 stars - the Family Dinner Salad. Usually with pizza place salads you get a pile of questionable iceberg and a baby carrot. Just tried for the first time We had 1 pepperoni and 1 sausage mushroom The crust on both was a 10/10 ! Crusty and chewy with a great taste. The sauce had a little bite to it. Quite good. Unfortunately the pizza was a little undercooked, leaving it tasting a little doughy. If you are from the north east, don't bother buying this pizza. I would order grinders and salads instead. Decent pizza place. Ordered it simply because nothing else was really open on the off season and they had gluten free crust. Wait was a little long about an hour to carry out and by the time I got there, the wait was up to 90 minutes so definitely plan ahead especially on weekends.
