Great ambiance we designed our own and it was great took home the Fig and Pig Pizza---LOVED IT----

The pizzas were good. They have a gluten free crust. The kids loved their pizzas, and we would order from them again.

A tale as old as time..rolled into Corolla on a Sat and didn't feel like cooking for night one. I called another pizza place (closer to our house) and they snickered and said that it would be a 2hr 45min wait for any order.. before breaking out the cooking stuff we tried Cosmos. They weren't open. The phone message said they were closed prepping for dinner and opened at 5pm, but that you could preorder online..so at 4:45 I ordered 6 large pies and the pick up time was 5:15. I sent my husband and told him to expect to sit for awhile...the pizzas were EARLY. Overall not my favorite pizza I like more sauce, cheese/toppings. Definitely was not greasy though! We stopped for lunch after visiting Corolla's historic village and climbing Currituck Lighthouse. We were in a time crunch and had limited window for lunch (as we were headed to a horse tour). Hostess (bartender?) was friendly, patient, attentive and understanding of our circumstances. Realizing my kids wanted pizza, she advised they could split pizza to accommodate both preferences. Husband and I split a meatball sandwich (bread was soft yet crusty and slightly larger than meatballs--kept meatballs from popping out--and sandwich was tasty). Food came out fast, hot and fresh, although sandwich came out well before pizza (we were in a time crunch so not complaining!). Staff was personable and friendly. Atmosphere was casual with a bar and 2 dining areas. May want to call ahead for large parties as space is limited and verify hours as it's the off season. read more

Good service. Subpar pizza. It's strange how many positive reviews this spot has? Best pizza. Maybe best pizza box? This pizza left us underwhelmed and it was pricey. We bought cheese, a veggie and a meat pizza and chicken boneless or whatever. Save your money. read more

Great pizza! Not too cheesy. Prompt service. The staff and the other customers are friendly. We have almost always found ourselves in conversation with others eating here. Good selection of beers at reasonable prices. It has a real beach feel. Come early to get seated because they can get busy in the summer. A great place to eat in the late afternoon before going across the street to the Currituck lighthouse and the picturesque Whalehead Club to watch the sunset (see photos attached). read more

Insanely good pizza! Found out they don't sell by the slice, but the owner had two extra pizzas they were getting rid of before closing they just gave them to me for free. I tipped them a couple bucks, of course, and told them how insanely generous that was, but they're great people, great pizza. read more

We visited Cosmos while staying in Corolla on a recommendation & are glad we did. While it's not quite NY pizza crust the flavor was good and the options were enjoyable. Also, always appreciate when we can split a pizza by having sized to both our different preferences. Enjoyed the drink options as well. Additional the staff was friendly and helpful. If this place was close by I suspect we would frequent visitors. Hubs even decided to get a T-shirt . read more

We stopped here for a pizza based on reviews for good pizza. Understanding taste is subjective, I'm gonna say I think most people will be disappointed if you grew up with boardwalk style pizza. The sauce is spicy which doesn't work for us, the pizza is much doughier than we like. More like a papa John's pizza dough. And the cheese or absence of it... generally theres enough cheese that you can't see the sauce clearly on the whole pie. Not real impressed. This was supposed to be real NY style pie and it's fallen way short. $25 for a 16" ish pie. read more

We get pizzas from Cosmos almost every Friday. Not once have we left unsatisfied with our experience. The staff remembers our name and the service is always very kind and friendly. The ambiance is always joyful and you can see the collaboration that goes in to making you delicious pizza. We drive just about an hour every week just to get Cosmos' pizza. I highly recommend Cosmos, they are incredible! read more

This place seems to have changed. They used to have good crust before but the last two times we ordered pizzas from them, the toppings and crust were not good at all. The crust was too crispy and thin and all the toppings were almost burnt brown to the point where we could barely recognize them. We won't be ordering from here again. They do have some unique specialty pizza options though. read more

We went to cosmos yesterday with a bunch of ladies. Matt was our bartender. He was wonderful. He made a mean, blue Hawaiian, and not bad on the eyes either...! This is a nice little spot. Best pizza around very friendly staff all kinds of drinks. Go check it out. read more

Insanely mid food that's overpriced could've made it at home for less than half the price

I was hesitant coming here because the pictures in yelp did not look like "the type of pizza I like". Lucky for me, the place I wanted to go was not open for the season yet! I'm not kidding when I say this was the BEST pizza I've ever had. I have had NY, deep dish, Detroit style. THE BEST I will break it down from the base to the crust: The sauce. OMG. It had no sweetness which I find objectionable in any tomato sauce. Tomatoes are delicious and need no extra sugar if they are really high quality. The Cheese: buttery. Great stretch. Not laid on so heavily that it ruins the crust. The toppings. Super fresh is always best. But on top of that, they do a great job of even distributing all the topping and make them bite sized so every bite is PERFECTION. Now for the crust. Sublime. I love NY Style crust. It is the cracker like exterior specifically. I find the interior tough to chew because I have jaw issues. This crust. Crispy and brown outside but pillowy soft in the inside. Sturdy enough however, to hold up to the very generous toppings. SIMPLY FANTASTIC. THANK YOU FOR A MEMORABLE LAST DAY IN COROLLA! read more

This isn't the review that I enjoy writing. If you make the decision to go to Cosmos stick with the pizza. I had the Italian cold cut sub and it was more bread than anything else. Skimpy and greatly disappointing. Also some of their pricing is ridiculous. I wanted to get some French fries to take away and they wanted $17 dollars for two orders. Needless to say I left them behind. These are potatoes guys not scallops. Stick with the pizza. read more

This one is hard. The pizza itself is not bad and has good flavor. The issue is the price. You get very little for what you pay for. A small White pizza (smaller than the size of a dinner plate) is $18.89. The same with the Margarita Pizza for $19.89. The mozzarella sticks are average sized and you get six for $8.99. Overall, the food is good and the location of it is very convenient, but the price makes us hesitant to return. read more

Had to stray from our usual pizza option due to hours being different in the off season, but it brought us to Cosmo's which ended up being a nice surprise! We ordered two large pizzas and wings for carry out. The food was ready within 15 minutes, hot and fresh. Pizza was yummy with a really great sourdough chewy crust, toppings were fresh and flavorful, wings were large and tasty as well. Overall, this was a win and a nice discovery after coming to the area for 30+ years. We will be back! read more

Ordered a large 16 inch cheese pizza to go for lunch at the counter for the family. The counter lady was on her earbuds having a conversation about her relationship problems as soon tand took her multiple attempts to take my order. It took the restaurant about 25 minutes to crank it out. They have a dining room with a bar area for a cocktail if that's your fancy. Pizza toppings are $3 dollars each. THEY DO NOT SERVE SLICES! The pizza dough was very doughy/chewy and not a crispy as I would have liked. The sauce was extremely bland. It is similar to a dominos or a Papa John's style but not as flavorful. I was happy to find a place with gluten free pizza so close to where we were staying . We are a group of six (4 being children) so making everyone happy can be difficult at times but this place passed the test. The pizza took a little longer but they seemed to be hammered with large pick up orders so it wasn't surprising but the staff were all great and apologized for the delay. The ambiance was that of a beach pizza joint which was also great. On top of that, the owner is an Ohio State grad and as a Buckeye fan that was the icing on the cake. We are officially in the off season now and we still can't get it right. We ordered pizza, mozzarella sticks, and an Allison's salad. The salad was supposed to have grilled chicken, but it didn't. I don't want to drive all the way back for this. As I was leaving there was a guy who picked up an order of french fries and I said "oh, the fries are THAT good that you'd just order fries?!" Always order from here when in Corolla, OBX. My go to is the Corolla Classic large pie. Sauce is awesome and the spices are great. Loaded slice but not too much. I mostly do take out but they have a great bar with lots on tap. Cool place inside and they have outdoor seating if you want. Be prepared to wait on busier nights (weekends). read more

We ordered two 16" pizzas for pickup - a pepperoni and a white. They tasted fine, but the crust was much thinner than I would prefer. At $21 for the pepperoni and $22 for the white, it's very expensive pizza and not what I would consider a good value. read more

We were visiting the Cuttrick Lighthouse and it was lunchtime. We had read some reviews about this restaurant and decided to go. It was a very good decision! We got the half meaty pizza and half chicken bacon ranch pizza. It was very good and the 2 individuals working that day were very friendly, helpful and personable. Came here for a last night on vacation meal. Service was quick and friendly, ordered online for pickup. Pizza was standard run of the mill. Tasted fine and filled us up. Prices were definitely inflated. Toppings run $3-5 a piece. No complaints, just average tasting pizza for the price. read more

The good - we were given complementary fries, garlic balls and small Caesar salad after probably more than 30 minutes waiting for our food. The food that came was good. Ordered six large pizzas when we picked them up they had put it under someone else's name and then they had the nerve to ask for a tip on a pick up order over $100 and the prices on the website were a lot less than what they charged us Won't be using them much and all the pizzas were cold.
