Corsica is a lovely tapas bar in RiNo! It's in a charming building with a lovely patio, and trendy decor. I had stopped by to check out the menu while passing through but didn't get a chance to stop in until the Wednesday before last. My date and I had just finished at the Clifford Still Museum and headed back to my side of town for eats! We were not disappointed, as all the dishes we tried were fabulous! We tried both pastas, the buratta, beet salad and the meatballs and left full and satisfied! We also tried a mocktail each, and loved both our drinks. I love when a restaurant supports those of us that don't drink with options that are just as yummy and feel just as fancy! I can't wait to go back, and I predict that Corsica will be a neighborhood staple in no time at all. read more

Wonderful new restaurant you must try in the Denver area. Since they didn't offer it I decided to make my own tasting menu of sorts. I started off with the Wolfpack cocktail and it was absolutely incredible. Everything I want in a drink, a little sweet, a little tart and a little bourbon. I also had the Chardonnay from Burgundy, France which went very well with the rest of what I ordered. I started with the whipped ricotta toast and then had the rest in order, beet salad, scallop crudo, fries, and brandzino. The bartender was very nice and decided to share his favorite with me which was the Barbajuan and that was probably one of my favorites. Everything had excellent flavor. After writing my previous review, we were invited back to the restaurant by Mimi, the general manager. We were absolutely wowed from the minute we were shown to our table. Everyone on Mimi's team stopped by our table that night to greet us and make sure we were taken care of. Our server, Devin, was the sweetest and recommended all the best dishes. The food scene here is lacking, coming from San Francisco I miss hip restaurants that care about the food and bring in a crowd. Having said that, this place has some work to do to get there. The place was incredibly loud, not just from the people and tables very close together but from the loud music that made it hard to have a conversation. Tone it down. The tables are very small and don't fit the dishes coming out so it's not relaxing to eat while you're trying not to knock down your glass of wine or cocktail. The silverware in a metal bin is not the right for for this place. It should be properly placed, and butter knives provided. The service was trying, but you could tell the staff was not very experienced, trained, or coordinated. Our waiter didn't know how to use the iPad that well and service was a bit slow at times, and fast at others without the table being cleared and reset. I get that it's the first weekend, but service needs to be smoothed out. The food: The bread service: The bread was amazing, I didn't like how they spread the butter onto this flat plate, it was hard to get it and there was no butter knife. Waiters also had a hard time picking up these plates. The asparagus ceasar: didn't have much asparagus, and was covered in cheese, not a fan of this presentation. The flavors were good and overall the salad was nice. The chicken liver mouse: the mouse was great, but the way it was pressed into the flat plate was not easy to consume, the pairing of the pear was a bit strong. The cannelloni and rigatoni were both excellent. The pasta was amazing, the dish was well balanced, full of flavor, and tasted of Italy. The branzino: was dry, oversalted, and didn't taste great. Pick a fish you can get locally. The pairing with it was also a miss, I don't like hot and cold on the same dish and didn't come together. The mushrooms: not a fan either, the skewers are also not my favorite way to serve food. This place has potential, they need to fix the service, and up the food game. read more

Every bite of food was delicious and packed with flavor. The ambience was great with the dim lighting and unique decoration. The manager was fabulous and gave us a great run down of the restaurant and how to read the menu. I recommend the ricotta toast, broccoli Caesar, mushroom arancini, and the chicken thigh. What an amazing food experience. Our server, Brie, was exceptional with real attention to detail. She asked insightful questions about the food with a real desire to understand why we liked each dish. What about it stood out. Then when one of the items wasn't what I expected, without even thinking she said I'll take it off your bill. The food was a perfect balance. The attention to every dish was carefully thought out. Big fan of Barcelona wine bar so was super excited they were opening a sister restaurant nearby! Been several times now and have had mixed experiences but overall think this is a great place to grab some wine with friends and have a bite to eat! The chips and dip are a must order. I love the presentation of all their dishes as well as the ambiance. They have well priced wine as well. Came for dinner once but didn't love everything we ate. Ricotta toast and salmon carpaccio fell short of expectations. Timing of food coming out was also unorganized but may have been due to them being a new spot. Small plates (tapas) concept, great when you want to try different dishes at once. Ordered the following dishes: - whipped ricotta toast - tuna carpaccio - corsican frites - summer caesar - barbajuan - branzino The ricotta toast is something I'd get again the next time I visit. It is delicious for lunch or dinner, doesn't matter what time of day it is. The tuna carpaccio has the most beautiful plating and the lemon with crispy quinoa pairing worked well. Crispy skin on the branzino was perfect. I wish we got more frites since I had a good amount of leftover sauce and wanted to keep eating it, but these were addicting. The service was also great as the host offered many recs and answered all of our questions so we can narrow down our selections to order. We enjoyed all the dishes overall and would definitely come to Corsica again if I'm in Denver especially to try more of the dishes I didn't get to. On another note, I also visited their sister restaurant Barcelona. it's also a tapas concept restaurant but it's more Spanish inspired while Corsica is more Mediterranean,coastal inspired from Corsica itself. I like both but Barcelona is more rustic and has a bigger menu. I like Corsica for a more elevated scene and vibe and their straightforward, simple menu. Have to admit I'm pretty shocked this place has a 4.3 review. The ambience, the vibe, the energy, and feel of this restaurant is great. We were so excited to walk into such a lively, classy feeling joint, watching all the small plates being delivered to near by tables had us super excited for the food... everything about this place looked amazing, until we actually tasted our drinks and food. The drinks and food look so perfect. We tried 3 different signature cocktails, all tasted like watered down nothingness of a cocktail, but that's not the worst part: we tried the Casio de Pepe, which was covered in pepper and red pepper, too spicy to enjoy. I've never had this dish be so spicy and uneditable. Next up: broccolini. Again, it looked magnificent! It was the opposite. It's amazing how food can look so perfect and taste so bad. And finally: the mussels, which were advertised as being in a lobster broth. It was served with a keeping pile of onions and a vomity colored broth with the croutons soaked into the bottom so u could even cleanse the nastiness of the broth flavor by trying bread, so of course we paid $6.50 for a loaf of bread with some kind of butter we didn't even enjoy. Im giving this place 3 stars for the atmosphere alone. The only reason I'm not going 2 stars is because at least the broccoli was $9 vs $15 at some of these overpriced restaurants. I still feel like I should give it a 2 just to more accurately depict how bad this food is. I have no idea what this place is going for with their food seasoning but it is absolutely gross. read more

We made reservations about an hour before arriving on a Tuesday..it was packed! We were seated promptly. Everyone was extremely friendly and attentive. The place was quite loud and it was hard to talk but that was because it was so busy! The inside is as cool as the outside with lots of seating! we were offered a complementary 3oz pour of a rosé wine which was delicious! The menu was large with plenty of tapas to share! But definitely not a dinner spot if you have a large appetite. I love that You can get a 3oz pour or a 6oz pour of wine so you can explore the selections! Loved this place! Our waiter was so friendly and I really liked the aesthetic of the restaurant. We ordered cocktails, small plates, and dessert. The rosso shakerato and scented isle were very refreshing and I would go back for the scented isle. The barbajuan and cannelloni au brocciu were very delicious as well. I went back to Corsica for my second time and wow, my experience was just incredible. I tried an entirely different portfolio of flavors and I was incredibly impressed. The crudo was one of our favorites as it was not only so fresh and melted in your mouth but it also had such a fun textural element to it! The corn was also super innovative (as it was served cold) but it felt very refreshing and playful - I definitely recommend it! We were excited to try this place but it turned out to be exceptionally mid. It seems like a hip environment and cool Space but they really need to get down the service/timing and food delivery bit. We ordered bread service, broccoli Caesar, cacio e Pepe, risotto, prawns, meatballs, and beef Bavette. I'm listing them in this order because this is the order in which they are on the menu. I want to lay out the general timing of everything. Get sat with no wait (great!) 0-10 min no interaction. 10ish minutes server comes by and says he'll be right with us and sorry for the wait 3-5 more minutes get the whole welcome schpeel. We opt to order drinks and food at this time because who knows when we will see a server again and we've been waiting, 10 more minutes of nothing, server stops by to say "let me check on your drinks" 5 more minutes drinks are delivered. 10 more minutes of waiting. *note* we are going on 20-25 minutes after ordering and have received nothing and one of the things we ordered is bread service. 1st dish broccoli caeser (8/10) 5-10 more minutes Room Temp Beef bavette (6.5/10) and meatballs (6/10)come out followed 2-3 minutes later by the bread service (????? On this food timing) 10 more minutes risotto (5/10) and cacio e pepe (8/10) show up. 5 minutes after that prawns (4/10) Look I get it this is a new place and this was a busy Saturday night but if you have bread service and your guests aren't getting that until 30 minutes after they've ordered we've got a serious issue. Idk if it's a POS system or what but I saw multiple tables be offered plates after they had already closed out so needless To say I think front of house needs some work. This place blew up in the Denver food Instagram scene and after visiting I can see why. Atmosphere is amazing the staff is so friendly and inviting it feels so comfortable from the moment you're greeted. They offer a little 4 oz (i think?) wine pour of the day upon your arrival which was a lovely way to start while you look over the menu. My favorite thing we ordered was the frites omg the dipping sauces were to die for and the frites were the crispiest most delightful bite. I ordered the Picasso cocktail which really surprised me in the most pleasant way it was so refreshing and sweet and summery without being too much of anything. Do not skip out on the almond cake it seriously may be my favorite dessert in all of Denver right now. The ratatouille was good but not my personal fave - the sauce was really vibrant and fun. We came here for my birthday dinner and we were really excited to try it. The menu is not as extensive as some other wine and tapas places. We ordered the Beefsteak Tomato (decent), olives (good), Rigatoni Bolognese (delish), Mussels l'Aziminu (probably our favorite thing), bread (meh), and the tuna carpaccio (WAY too much citrus). The staff was nice and helpful. The sommelier was on vacation, so the waiter did his best to help us. We ordered a bottle of wine sort of at random and later realized we were given a different bottle. No big deal, it was still good and we just told them that it was different and just to charge us for the one they gave us (it was cheaper anyway). We got a dessert on the house for my birthday, which was kind of them. We did the tiramisu and the almond cake. Both were delicious. All in all we had a great dinner, but I think I would prefer to go to their sister restaurant, Barcelona, for the larger variety. This is my kind of restaurant. It's beautiful, the manager to the server were warm, welcoming and competent. Four us went and sampled around a dozen small plates, their thing. We had the gigante beans, bread service, salmon rillettes, acorn squash, mushroom arancini (my favorite), farro 'risotto', grilled shrimp (large!), bastian meatballs, grilled pork belly, and beef bavette. Not one of those plates was 'meh'. The cocktail program is creative, the flavors unique and put you in the mood to try them all! Also had a few desserts (tiramisu, olive oil cake), but delicious. This was a cold Tuesday night when the room noise was also lower (moderate). I love their sister restaurant Barcelona Wine Bar as well, especially for brunch when the room noise is low and conversation is possible w/out yelling. Nice job Corsica, we'll be back! read more

Had a reservation this past Friday at 8 pm. When we arrived, we were told the tables hadn't turned over yet and were encouraged to grab a drink at the bar. After spending $50 on two 6oz pours of vino blanco and waiting for 35 minutes, we still weren't seated. Frustrated, I asked to remove my name from the list. The staff urged us to wait, saying our table was "coming up," but as the manager scrolled through the reservations on the iPad, we were clearly two screens deep. I've never experienced a restaurant where reservations are recommended, only to leave guests waiting for over half an hour with no table in sight. read more

The first 3 high tops are SURROUNDED! Some of the small plates are really tiny for the price. The tuna carpaccio was really good but so so little for $14. It was done in 2-3 bites. The wine is really good, and that was a great highlight to have a taster on our table too. Devan, our waiter was really great and none of this is his fault. I've been twice now, and both times I've felt like the food was not only not tasty, but not worth the price. Food portions are very small. We got a cheese board for $28 with about 4 ingredients, not enough for a light happy hour snack. Barcelona would NEVER! As much as I like the ambiance and service, this place is not worth my money. First time. Their sister concept is Barcelona Wine Bar that opened January 2018. Barcelona is a Spanish Tapas restaurant. Corsica is a French/Italian/Spanish Tapas restaurant. So food choices includes multiple items with French, Italian and Spanish accents. Same for the extensive wine list by the glass (3oz & 6oz pours). The wine by the glass starts with Bubbles, Rose (orange wines), White & Red wines, ranging from light to heavier from top to bottom. The food chioces also start light and get more substantial as you go down the list. I started with a 3oz pour of rose wine "Fattoria Vaira" from Italy. A fruity orange wine with higher skin contact making it redder with Gigante beans and Vinegar potato chips with chive aioli. A light beginning. Next was a Beet salad with a 3oz pour of white wine "Ciello, Bianco" from Sicily. My main course was their Rigatoni Bolognese with a 6oz pour of red wine "Montemelino" sangiovese from Umbria, Italy. I sat at the bar with brownish marble top and served by Joe at the bar and general manager, Austin. Austin said their bottle list includes 150 wines. The dining space is quite large. Besides the bar, there was the adjacent dining area with 2 person high top marble tables and booths. There is a separate front room, another space opposite the kitchen and a back space for private events. The occupancy notice by the entrance says 277 persons. Plus an outdoor patio, that would be better after the sun sets. They are open till 1am. read more

The food here is absolutely top tier. Everything we had was 5 out of 5 with taste, freshness, and the portion size was pretty decent as well. This included the Cacio e Pepe, the Meatballs, the Crab Lumache, and the whipped Ricotta toast. We did have an issue being seated that was not the restaurant's fault (someone stole our table by saying they were us), which led to us not being able to try everything on the menu. I sat at the bar. Service was really bad. There was also a mildew/sweat smell in the bar area. I ordered the nduja stuffed dates, giant beans, and bolognese. The dates were a great idea but poorly executed. No one at the restaurant had bothered to learn how to pronounce nduja either. The giant beans were very uninspired and missing something. Salt was needed. Just a very basic dish with nothing exceptional. The bolognese sucked. The noodles were undercooked, the bolognese sauce was gross, and there was far too much bread crumbs on top. As a vegan going to a tapas restaurant you have to go in expecting to only to be able to eat bread and salad hold the cheese. I was SO pleasantly surprised and the dishes that were already vegan and those that could be made vegan. We ordered the potatoes chips (no dip for me, gigante beans, bread (they gave us olive oil and butter), olives, cónica squash, and farro risotto which was all vegan. The farro risotto was amazing. And to top it off there was vegan sorbet affogato. Soooo good. My partner who eats meat got the meatballs and liked it a lot. I was so pleased to be able to get filled by a variety of vegan options.
