The parking lot for this place is scary small, wouldn't even risk my car in there when it's packed, street parking was doable and there's a decent amount of seating at the place, there was a decent wait but not overlong especially with how many people that were ahead of us plus mobile orders. The food was DIVINE, The BAE was absolutely stellar for breakfast and the egg was runny and delicious, would 10/10 recommend. The empanada was also good, the beef was delicious and the crust/breading was PERFECT, the olive taste was a bit overpowering but I'd give it an 8/10 would still get it. This has been on my list for so long and it was sooo worth it. We got the dad's club sandwich, heirloom with prosciutto bagel, guava cream cheese empanada, and beef empanada! Everything was delicious but the guava empanada definitely stood out for me. Super creamy and fresh plus I just love guava. The sandwich was also veryyy refreshing and they do not skimp out on the toppings inside. My bagel also has the perfect amount of cream cheese and blended so well with the tomato and prosciutto. I did come on a Sunday around 12:00PM and the wait was about 20ish minutes so definitely not a spot when you're in a rush! The worker is also super nice. We came to forgotten bakery on June 20th around 11:00 a.m. We had seen that an event was going to be held on this date where a guest DJ, house is a feeling, was going to be playing while other activities were going to be happening at this bakery. AKA a drag queen walking around and serving a guava Spritz to individuals that were of age to drink and a little bit of trinket making if you wanted to do that. I will call out that if you have a large party it is difficult to find places to sit because there are not a lot of tables underneath the covered area. There's also two tables outside the fence but one of them does not have an umbrella so just being mindful of if it's a sunny day you're going to get hot. So I will be honest I came in a little skeptical about how the food was going to taste because a friend of mine had stated they had come to forgotten bakery about a year ago and he said that he was not very impressed with the food and drink options. I am happy to report that when we went everything was delicious with a capital D. The empanadas that we got: beef chilean, guava; were absolutely phenomenal. The crust of the empanada was perfectly golden brown, and the texture was firm enough where when you opened up the empanada that held its shape well and the feeling inside to not fall easily. Of all of them I would say my top pick in the topic of my husband was the Chilean empanada. We are a suckers for the combination of sweet and savory together and then having that buttery crust is brought everything together. Also the oat milk latte was yummy creaminess is the easiest way to describe it. It went down a little too easily which almost made me get another one but I am sensitive to caffeine and I told myself I'll just have to come back later and get another drink from them. I came here with a friend on a Sunday morning and we waited exactly 35 minutes for two bagels and an empanada even though there weren't that many people waiting on their orders at the time. Once we left, I opened the bag to realize that they forgot to include the empanada I paid for. I was not going to drive 15 minutes back for the empanada when I already spent a very long time waiting for the bagels. I stopped in around 11:30am on Saturday to pick up a raffle prize for work and decided to stay and have a late breakfast. This was my second time at Forgotten Bakery as I was lucky enough to check them out during a Yelp event earlier in the year. They are located on Stockton Blvd, their building is small, but there are a few tables outside to sit at if you're able to snag one. Their parking lot is also on the small side, but there is also street parking. We ordered the Loxann on an Everything bagel, a Forgotten on a Plain bagel and a Plain bagel with butter. I also wanted to try their Coco Loco Latte which was really good! I am a big fan of Lox and really enjoyed the Loxann - I ate half there and half at home later - it was super filling! My one complaint is that the food does take a while to come out considering it is just bagels, but they have been pretty busy both times I visited and they also handle to-go/online orders as well. The employee with the cool green hair is always friendly and hustling around the chaos - I always enjoy seeing them at the counter. Was driving through the area and craved a bagel this morning. Decided to pop into this little corner bagel shop, they have outdoor seating which is set up very cute. We decided on a to go order because it was pretty chilly out. We split The BAE bagel and a Spinach n Cheese Empanada. Ultimately both were phenomenal, the bagel was jam packed with a generous amount of bacon/egg. The bagel itself was very tasty and exactly what i needed to start off the day. Their empanada was also very tasty, not greasy or too overpowering. Overall, the items we got were definitely delicious. Now... regarding the service, they most definitely need to get a better system figured out for their service. We waited over 25 minutes for these 2 items... I found that quite frustrating when there were less than 8 people there when we initially ordered. My assumption is that they get bombarded with mobile orders, which I definitely understand because I've worked in this type of market before. It's a walk-up concept, so dress for the weather- I had to run back to my car for a jacket while waiting. They have email notification system for orders, which is efficient if it works. Lessons Learned: -Check the window yourself: Even if the staff says your drink isn't ready, peek at the pickup area. I received an email saying mine was ready, but the employee didn't see it behind her. By the time I found it myself, my iced coffee was watered down. -No Cash policy: They are credit/debit only. They technically can take cash if you have exact change but don't have a register to give change back. -And there's the sauce situation...If you prefer a moist sandwich, order extra sauce on the app initially. I paid double for a 1oz ramekin at the counter afterward, and having to go back to the table for a card just to pay for a tiny bit of sauce was the 'I can't win today' moment of my morning. Sum it up: The portions were good and looked delicious for those who love bagels, but for someone wishing for the variety of a local bakery, you may come up short. The Forgotten Bakery may be called "Forgotten," but after one visit, there's no chance you'll forget it. I stopped in for a quick bite and left questioning every empanada I've ever eaten. The empanadas are absolutely incredible--flaky, perfectly baked, packed with flavor, and somehow capable of disappearing before you realize you've finished them. Thanks to a recent Yelp Event, I got to try Forgotten Bakery. I return to try different type of bagel. Everything bagel is usually my go-to but I also love a good jalapeno and cheddar and I remember that they had it from previous visit. The bagel did not disappoint except they forgot my cream cheese on the side! I would have asked them to put the spread on but their toaster was out and I didn't want to wait 20 minutes. I figured I would toast it at home and spread the cream cheese after. Anyway, not a big deal. I'm sure it was chaotic morning for them with the toaster being out. I enjoyed the bagel with my plain cream cheese at home. I also got the Guava Cream Cheese Empanada because everyone is raving about it on Yelp. It is very good - just a bit on the sweeter side for me. Good crust and they did not skim on the cream cheese. The dusted powdered sugar was a nice touch. Come to think of it, I think this is the first time I had a sweet empanada. They are usually with savory ingredients. Check the hours before you go. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday. I've been here a few times, and mainly for the 2g2g bags. Everything is made fresh and in house, so that's a huge plus. This place is located in south sac along Stockton Blvd. Not the best area, but still good to go during the day (which their hours are daytime only). Everytime I come here, the workers are really nice and help me quickly. They get me in and out quick. I have not dined here, but there is no inside seating, and instead, there is a shaded patio like area with about 5-7 tables so you can dine here. You order at the register, which is in the patio courtyard as well. The food tastes great. I've had bagels, empanadas and most recently, The BAE sandwich through a Yelp event. Everything is always good. I sometimes can't finish a 2g2g bag in one sitting so I freeze the extra bagel and eat them later. I also bought an 8oz scallion cream cheese and it was great. I wanted to check this place out since Yelp was recommending it and doing an event here. I'm assuming it's because of the time I arrived, but they didn't have much to offer. I got there at noon (because I intermittent fast and don't eat until 12pm/1pm), and there was a line. Pretty much all the seats were taken. They were out of a lot of things, and only had 2 types of bagels available. I ordered the Egg & Cheese bagel sandwich. It's got eggs, American cheese, and some type of aoili. I paid $4 extra for bacon. For the base, I chose the everything bagel. The taste was great, but it would have been prefect with a little bit of salt. They offer other bagels, pastrami sandwiches, and empanadas. You can even build your own bagel and buy the spreads. They have a vegan menu. There's tea, coffee, matcha, hot chocolate, and juice for drinks. They have seating near the shop and a few tables next to the parking lot. All of it is covered. The whole shop is gated and the parking lot is fenced in. Parking is awkward and very limited -- only 8 spots available, and 1 of those is handicapped parking. Finding parking on the street is hard since it's in a residential area. I had to loop around three times and was finally lucky enough to get a spot in the parking lot. I recently went to Forgotten Bakery because I drive past it all the time on the weekdays during work and always wondered how their food is. I am currently on a strict Mediterranean ketoish diet and I saw that they had a keto menu and that peeled my interest even more! First of all, parking is horrible. Don't even try to park in the neighborhood street because it's filled with residential cars and the street is so narrow you must pull over for others to get by. They have a small parking lot that fits maybe 7 cars? And then a side skinny lot where people park all weird and it can fit another 6? If people park right. I circled around three times until someone left the actually gated parking lot. Inside their partially covered patio was about 5 tables and a couple benches, outside the parking lot was another table with seating. There is no indoor seating as the tiny building itself is packed like a sardine for maybe 6 employees trying to probably bake and assemble sandwiches while making drinks. I ordered the keto sandwich with bacon, they also have a veggie version. The exterior holding the sandwich together are egg Pattie's!! The egg Pattie's were very well made and put together. My sandwich didn't fall apart once! The bacon was thick cut and fried perfectly. Thank goodness it was not flint thin Denny's bacon. I was scared at first. I also ordered the Bae sandwich with an everything bagel and the last chocolate chip cookie for my sister to try. The chocolate chip seemed crispy on the edge and a little chewy on the inside. I waited 25 minutes for my order, which is a little excessive, but understandable with the way they are structured and staffed. I've have had Forgotten bakery a few times and the food never miss. It's a small little bakery on the corner of Stockton blvd. My favorite bagel is the jalapeño cheddar and the home made chive cream cheese is chefs kiss. The cheese and spinach empanadas are my favorite anything with spinach will always be my go to. The service as always fast and friendly. You can only order outside and there is outdoor dining only as well as order to go. The place was packed and people kept Pouring in . The wait was a little Long but we didn't mind in the slightest. My Carmel machiatto was refreshing and the Carmel notes very warm . The dad's breakfast bagel was truly chefs kisses , love at first bite !! My partner got the deluxe lox and he loved every last bite . We also got a few empanadas to try while in Rome ;) . Forgotten Bakery makes one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in the Sacramento area. I ordered The BAE on an everything bagel and swapped the fried egg for scrambled. I think it makes the sandwich a lot less messy to eat. I also added the scallion cream cheese which was an extra $3 and definitely worth it. The only downside was the price. My sandwich came out to around $17 which feels pretty steep for breakfast. That said, it was delicious and I'd absolutely order it again. I also tried the pistachio cream cold brew latte. I ordered the Forgotten Bagel- scallion cream cheese, applewood bacon and jalapenos on a toasted jalapeno cheddar bagel. I figure if it's their bespoke bagel it has to be good. Plus, I love the savory jalapeno cheddar combo. The sandwhich is delicious. Very generous portion- in fact I'm finishing my second half as I write this review a few hours later. The applewood bacon is the star. This is thick cut, cooked to chewy goodness bacon. Such a good pairing with the rest of the sandwich. My parnter got the BAE, fried eggs, avocado, Smoked bacon, American cheese and Forgotten aioli on a toasted sesame bagel. He raved about it as he inhaled in about four bites. I was invited for an Elite event-I'm so glad they sponsored this as this is a hidden gem-although noticing many positive reviews from content creators. The location is not somewhere I typically drive through in Sacramento so there is ample parking both behind the shop or on the street. They provide a cozy outdoor feel-mostly a grab and go place. I visited on a Sunday morning at 9:30-just before a crowd came in. The person taking my order was friendly and knowledgeable of their menu. I ordered the BAE bagel sandwich, hot peppermint chocolate and a few empanadas. Everything that I had was flavorful and excellent to my tasting. They have a few different aiolis which helps enhance the flavor of their food. They offer both savory and sweet (guava cheese empanada). The Chilean empanada is uniquely flavorful which really caught me by surprise-it wasn't dry unlike others I've tried. I highly recommend trying this place. Came by on 1/24/26 for a quick breakfast snack. Forgotten Bakery is located on the corner of Stockton Blvd and Baker Avenue in Sacramento, CA. When walking up to the menu and pay station, the staff member on duty was knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and the seating was all outside with tables, chairs, umbrellas, and heat lamps. I ordered the smoked ham and cheese empanada and caramel macchiato cold brew. The cold brew was really tasty but I wished they didn't put so much ice in the cold brew. The empanada was really good. So... my feedback is very mixed. Food wise, from sandwiches, to bagels, empanadas... The actual food and drinks are very, very good. But everything else is a hard miss. Let's start with parking. Yes, given the location of main street Stockton Blvd to residential, parking can be quite a challenge here. It almost gives the same vibes as trying to snag a curbside spot at Airport terminals for pick up. Next, ordering. If you've ever just walked up to the counter, placed an order and waited 45 minutes, you'll try to avoid that next time! So... I started ordering ahead of time on their website. It's very user friendly and easy to make selections. However, today, May 2026, while ordering on their website, it literally prompted me to select a time for the order to be ready. OK, I selected 9:20 am. Why was my order not ready till 9:40? Why do you even have a mobile ordering option if i have to wait for 3 guests ordering at the register??? And, finally, there is no expediting. There's usually only 1 cashier. The back office kitchen staff never really surface to greet anyone or ask for names to distinguish orders. Also, why is there not a defined line for mobile pick up orders vs everyone else. It's literally just a walk up cluster fudge of nothing! You order ahead, still have to wait. You order in person, you have to wait. You have questions? Good luck. All of quality and care definitely goes into the baking and foodie experience, but what this business doesn't take into account is that think about your devoted regulars and the impression left. I want to support your business. I live kinda close by, but if I have to wait and wait each time... zero clarity of flow when I do walk up... And pretty much no improvements from my last visit.... I'm not a morning person but this place may just make me into one because I keep craving their empanadas! I had been seeing Forgotten Bakery on social media and it just happens to be not very far from our new place so it was a sign to try them out. I got their Bae bagel sandwich on the rosemary parm bagel. I did ask for it toasted but it didn't seem like it was, maybe I need to ask for it to be more toasted. It was very good nonetheless. It was also empanada Thursday so they are but 3 get 1 free. I opted for the spinach and cheese, double cheese, guava cream cheese and ham and cheese. All were bomb! I don't even like guava but the guava cream cheese so good! I will say it is a tab expensive BUT everything was loaded. They didn't skimp on ingredients. My bae sandwich had so much avocado which almost unheard of. All the empanadas were stuffed also so I feel you do get your monies worth. read more

The best bagels in Sacramento...?? Potentially... My SLEEPER pick. Forgotten is located in the Colonial Heights neighborhood off Stockton Blvd and in-between 20th and 21st Ave. It's about a five or so minute drive south of the UC Davis Medical Center campus and ten minutes from where I live. It's also not too far from the Tahoe Park/ Oak Park DMV. So come get your nosh on after you get your Real ID! As an Ashkenazi Jewish person I am EXTREMELY particular about my bagels. Picky is an understatement- to say the least! When I first heard about Forgotten I knew I had to try them. As I'm an absolute sucker for bagels, schmear, and lox. Call me Sandy Cohen 2.0 (if you watched The OC, YKYK). One thing to note is parking is limited at Forgotten. There are about 7 or 8 spots within their gates. But you can park on the street and walk over as well. I wouldn't walk around Forgotten at night (they're not located in the greatest neighborhood), but it's completely fine during the morning and day (aka when you'd be getting bagels lol). I highly recommend ordering in advance online. Forgotten gets very busy with nurses and staff who work at UCD. Being able to cut the line to pick up your order helps if you're in a hurry! For those who want to eat there, the setup and ambiance at Forgotten is very interesting! There's benches, tables, and music playing! But it's completely outdoors so just be aware. I've been to Forgotten about seven times now. And staff are always EXTREMELY welcoming and friendly! Even when busy! The most recent time I was here the cashier even remembered my name and my go-to order! And I'm all about that! Speaking of my go-to order- I always go with the "Loxann" on a Jalapeño Cheddar bagel. Plain cream cheese, lox, tomatoes, black pepper, pickled onions, dill, and capers. And gotta get it toasted!! (If you eat your bagels untoasted I'm lowkey judging you lol). Everything bagels are a great plan B, but there's just something about Jalapeño Cheddar that just hits different. And WOW is this bagel sandwich delicious!! Everything tastes so fresh.. it's heavenly!! I like bagels that have a little "chew" to them and these do and then some! The lox, cream cheese, and condiments round out the perfect breakfast sandwich!! My wife likes their Zaatar bagels and typically goes with the "ForGarden" sandwich. I've had bites of hers and love this one as well, but I'm too much of a lox addict to change my "Loxann" order! In a nutshell, if you live/ work in East Sac, Oak Park, or Tahoe Park and are wanting a delicious breakfast, Forgotten is THE spot! I have yet to try Better Half Bagel, but for now I'm willing to crown Forgotten as the best bagels in Sacramento!! Get your bagel on. Just go. A++++ read more
