My only comment is that the place looks newly renovated, and I question why they went with such a tiny space given there is an entire massive warehouse to use? Be prepared to find a work around to the small parking lot preventing you from entering this excellent eatery. I normally have to park across the street or in the surrounding neighborhoods. And once you're in, you're greeted with a limited amount of seating--be prepared to ask diners if they are leaving--and swoop in like a hawk upon noticing a group gathering their things to leave. I'm not kidding. It's always busy! But the wait can be worth it. The bread is the star here. The bread is freshly made by professionals with a very light and savory flavor. Every ingredient will wow you from the well chosen cheese slices to the perfectly crisp pickle you receive on the side. This is not one of those places that bathes their pastrami in plain mustard. Instead the mustard is a perfect, artisanal choice , expertly portioned so that you get the full flavor of the juicy pastrami. The atmosphere is a 10/10 with perfect choices like fruit labels and real wood tables and a hipster industrial feel. The servers are on top of the line. I would ask for lettuce and tomato next time because I prefer with produce. Part of what made it so good was the bread. My wife got the meatball sandwich, which was equally as good. I have been going to Cortina's since 2002 but at the Anaheim location because that's where I grew up. When I started working near the Orange location, I knew I had to try it. I love their sandwiches! The freshly sliced chicken breast sandwich is one of my favorites, as well as their chicken antipasto salad and the seasonal chicken berry salad! They have fresh ingredients and pretty big portions. I've ordered online with no issues, called in with no issues and been inside to order with no issues. The cashier gals are friendly and tentative! I found my hero! Upon a recommendation from a friend I stopped in to Cortinas of Orange for a sandwich, and I was pleasantly surprised! I had a standard ham sandwich on a French roll that way out of this world! The bread made all the difference in the sandwich, and the ham thin slices and piled on high. It came with tomato onions and lettuce mayo, mustard. With a drink in hand I devoured my sandwich. This sandwich shop is in a rather odd area, but it's worth venturing to. My friends and I stopped by here for lunch and were delighted we did. The interior was cutely decorated to look like a little warehouse, where they store their supplies on the second floor. The staff was friendly and helpful. The sandwich, what you came for, was delicious. I ordered a roast beef French dip. It came on a delicious roll, chewy on the outside but fresh and flavorful. The meat was juicy and lean with a generous amount of melted cheese on top. The au jus, which can often be a let down for some places, was the actual juices from the cooked meat. Some places substitute, but it didn't look like this place did. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch, as did my friends. We will definitely be back here in the future. I'd like to see what else I'll enjoy. I'm visiting a shop near by and found this on yelp. It's a beautiful Italian deli not very big but it is lovely and feels intimate. I ordered the All American sandwich which was a cold one. What I really meant to get was a hot toasted roast beef! My own fault. But no problem as the sandwich is completely delicious. The bread is excellent like others have said and all ingredients are very high quality! For under $7 for a 6" it is a rock solid deal! I'm a frugal Chinese dude but if I was near by I would for sure eat again here!! read more

It's worth the wait (and there will be a wait during the busy lunch hour). We drove up all the way from Dana Point. We used to live in Anaheim and frequent the Cortina's there. We still daydream of their sandwiches. Plain and simple, they do sandwiches better than anyone. I usually get a tuna sub, which you would think would taste the same anywhere, but it just doesn't. There's is THE BEST. My husband says the same about their meatball sub. SO GOOD. read more

So I'm a regular here since I work nearby and i always call my order in and pick it up with no problems. Except for today I called at 11:35am and they told me it would be ready in 35 minutes. So I arrive 40 minutes later to pick it up and it is was still not ready so I had to wait for it.... i ended up waiting there for an extra 30 minutes and it was still not ready. I went to the counter to ask if it was ready and they had just started bagging it up. It would've been nice to know it was going to take that long when I called initially instead of having to wait in the crowd like a sardine in a can with all the people and having the wait cut into my lunch time. read more

I have never been to the original, but I recently tried this location in Orange at lunch time. I was prepared to have my mind blown, based on the hype. Overall, I liked it, but I was not amazed. I ordered the Cortina's original. This is an assortment of fresh Italian meats and a few veggies on a fresh baked Italian roll. The flavor is good. I detected a hint fennel. The fresh meats were as expected. The roll was a bit hard for my preferences, which made the sandwich somewhat dry. Overall, it was a higher than usual quality sandwich. I expected something with more pizzazz. Many of the weekly special sandwiches look like they might be good, otherwise, I will not be going out of my way to return. read more

Every time I come here, no matter what I order is delicious. I will recommend to call in your order at this location. We went during lunch and it was insanely packed. But, duh, it's because everyone knows how great Cortina's is. So, if you're sitting at your desk and searching Yelp because you're hungry here's what you need to do. Pull up the phone number, Call Cortina's, order the chicken parm, go pick it up, take a bite, shed a tear, then stuff your face. But, like, don't be cute about eating it.
