We then ordered the blistered shishito peppers that came piled high on a plate with bread crumbs and sliced cherry peppers. They were really good . Small salads, mushroom pizza and cbo burger rounded out our meal and everything was delicious. We ordered the pizza dough with apples and caramel sauce to go . I had them later on and let me tell you they were delectable! Oh we also ordered the Godiva coffees and they were very well made . Yummy. Usually I go to cosimo's in Middletown but we were in Newburgh so we decided to try out their newburgh location. I must say, I think this location is much bigger than Middletown. Our waitress was very nice, attentive and accommodating. I ordered the same thing I order in Middletown and it tasted the exact same! We ordered carry out here on a Friday night an hour prior to closing. This was my first time ever eating at this restaurant. I've always seen it packed out on weekend nights, but I've never stopped to try it out. We ordered the fried Calamari and Spicy Chicken Fusili. The calamari was beyond delicious! It was soooo well seasoned and had a spicy kick. It tasted delicious in the marinara sauce that was provided with it and we ate it while it was lukewarm, not even piping hot. The chicken fusili portion was AMAZING, I was expecting a skimpy portion but it actually came really stuffed. It tasted AMAZING. It was sooo delicious and I'll be stopping in to actually try the dine-in experience soon. Keep up the good work, this was definitely worth the $60. read more

Remodel is great. Revised menu, not so much. Ravioli was supposed to come with a tomato basil sauce but instead arrived with large chunks of diced tomato that better belonged on a salad than on a ravioli dish. It was as if someone has just opened a can of diced tomatoes and added some basil on top. So watery and not "saucy" at all as if it hadn't been puréed or cooked down any. No flavor at all. The ricotta filling was just bland - again, no flavor. Where's the garlic, salt/pepper, and herbs? Same flavor issue with the pizza sauce. And bone-in chicken parm? What?! And I don't know why you changed to toddler sized cups. Three other tables were laughing about it while we were present. Not trying to be mean but sometimes a revamp needs a revert. read more

Cosimos is a solid restaurant! Whether you come for the pizza, pasta or salads, it will not disappoint! The flatbreads are also great. Some of my favorites are the Romano chop chop salad and the chicken pallard. All the pizzas are good, depending on your topping preferences. One of the best appetizers is the Crispy Mozzarella, it's a mozzarella stick with prosciutto inside! I do not eat seafood, however a friend had me tried the Calamari and I have to say you wouldn't know it was calamari, no fishy taste and very crunchy! Usually we sit at the bar and the staff is always attentive. The renovations make the ambiance in the bar area so bright and welcoming. The (calamari) was the best thing I had at this restaurant I would definitely get this item agin absolutely delicious!. It could be on the oily side so those who don't like oil at all, might not like this dish. I have a sensitive plate to texture so I don't like soggy food, I also like a lot of seasoning in my food both sweet and savory leaning more towards savory than sweet. The pizza's I did try were just ok, the crust is just not crispy enough and sometimes too soft for my taste. I tried the white clam sauce, the flavor was ok, and with my texture issue I could feel sand in the clams. My friend got the same dish and did not have that problem. But he did say he would not get the dish agin, I think it tasted more like a butter Sauce than a vodka sauce. The roasted chicken was pretty good it's my friend's favorite dish at this restaurant. Not oily well cooked. The downfall of this dish is, if you love chicken and you make a good baked chicken dish at home this will be the equivalent of that. I personally prefer to get a dish I can't make at home, but some may prefer otherwise. I gave it a three star since the food is just good. And the price. The service was pretty good, I think if they give their own preferences to food items that they like to eat personally, included with what everyone else prefers Might work in favor for the restaurant. 4 yums We were a party of 5. We are from Long Island and we are foodies. That said we ordered Caesar salad, tuna tartare, house salad and margarita pie for appetizers. So the Caesar salad was great the house salad was ok a bit bland. The tuna a disappointment but this is an Italian restaurant. There was avocado in the tuna which the color was off putting but the tuna was fresh. The pizza was delicious and cheesy and they sauce was good not crispy but good. Well on to the pasta dishes. There are not enough words to describe how delicious they are! Pasta was Al dente, flavorful and cooked hot right out of the pan. Each dish had its own flavorful taste and the portions-mama Mia ! I can not be critical of the restaurant as it is the kind of place it is. It has a nice atmosphere, friendly efficient wait staff and decent food. It is not a place for the avid calorie counter. The portions are quite large. The Chicken Parm has two large breaded chicken breasts smothered in sauce and a thick topping of melted cheese and comes with a side of pasta which is large enough for my dinner time alone. My harvest salad was giant! I normally ask for dressing on the side but didn't and it had about 3 times the dressing I prefer but that's probably what many people expect. One person ordered the Salmon which was way over cooked. One person ordered a personal pizza which was generous in size and looked very good! We've frequented all of the Cosimo's in Orange County and this location "used to be our favorite til this visit. We came here with friends and fellow yelper Tina Chan who came up to visit from NYC. It was an embarrassment for us for recommending this place. Our waitress was not attentive at all and pretty much brain dead, the food didn't come out all at once and one of our guest ordered a pizza that came with unfortunately a long blond hair. When we told the waitress about it they apologized and made a new pie that didn't get to the table til everyone else was done. We expected to either have it reduced as a courtesy for the inconvenience or even comped, but instead were ignored. My hubby's soup was also greasy and definitely not pasta fagioli. Normally come up from the city on the weekends to enjoy a nice dinner. Great pasta fagioli, reminds me of my grandmothers. The pizzas are always on point. The weekly special are always different, unique and of course delicious. I have been a customer since before the remodel and all I have to say is wow. The atmosphere completely changed. In addition to brightening and putting that modern touch on the place, the bar is massive and always loaded with people. The drinks are always made to order and have home made syrups and other touches you only see in bars on the lower east side. If you can get a seat at the bar the bar tenders are always friendly and very prompt and will make anything to your liking. Overall never had a bad experience. Keep up the great work. I finally got a chance to eat dinner here. My coworkers and I stopped in, we were craving pizzas and pasta dishes. I'm not going to knock this restaurant too hard, but when we entered, the three of us stood in the waiting area for at least a minute, within eyesight of two hostesses, before my coworker got the attention of one if the hostesses to get seated. I'm giving the benefit of the doubt on this one, two of them were busy arranging a table setting. The restaurant has an outside, gated seating area, with lots of bistro style tables. Inside the dining area is compartmented. There are booths and tables, with good spacing. The dining area is clean and tidy. We got seated and our waitress was really nice, friendly and helpful. Our great experience with her put our delay in the waiting room easily behind us. I ordered a "build your own" pizza with anchovies, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and extra cheese, with a Pepsi. (8 slice standard pizza) I wanted dessert, but I was stuffed after eating the pizza. The pizza was good, it seemed to have a lot a basil on it. Other than that it was pretty good. This place takes cash, credit or debit. One cool feature, if you own a Tesla, there are 6 charging stations in the parking lot, that the restaurant owns.
