I actually created a yelp account just to leave Cosmo Bleu a review, because it's that amazing. I've come to Cosmo Bleu for a little more than a year, and always had Tracy do my hair. Tracy is so accommodating and professional; she's given me anything from getting fringe bangs to coloring my hair to getting my really long hair cut to a very fashionable and manageable bob. I have thick, jet-black Asian hair so a lot of salons that I've been to mess it up very badly, but Tracy is absolutely terrific. I had my hair colored yesterday. I came in yesterday with my hair looking very strange. I've had my hair colored a year ago and the roots had grown in, but then I colored it again (at another salon), so I had half of my hair red another half of it orange. I had a consultation with Tracy, and she was just SO wonderful and SO nice. She listened to everything I had to say, including my ideal hair color, my budget, and my concerns. She definitely took them into consideration, but also let me know what was realistic and what I could expect. I think that's so hard to find in stylists nowadays - someone who actually listens but is professional and considerate enough to tell you BEFOREHAND what you can expect. But anyway, Tracy took so much time and care into giving me that perfect hair. I was at Cosmo Bleu for almost four hours - and Tracy even stayed about an hour AFTER the salon closed because she really wanted to make me happy. I was so touched and impressed that she took that much time and effort into my hair, especially because my hair was an absolute circus when I came in. Before I had come to Cosmo Bleu and met Tracy, I've had a couple of times when I would go home and cry after a bad salon experience because stylists told me that my thick, Asian hair was so hard to work with and I hated it. Tracy really makes you feel beautiful and works with what you have, and she's genuinely passionate about what she does. She's an absolute gem!! Cosmo Bleu, please give her a promotion or something because she's so incredible!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my hair right now - it is one solid color (which I wanted), and it's such a natural looking, ashy, chocolate-y brown with a warm undertone. I get compliments from everyone, and I'm so happy. If you're thinking about which salon to go to at Princeton, pick Cosmo Bleu. Trust me - I've been to a couple of salons around this area, and Cosmo Bleu is just hands down the best. read more

The first time I went to Cosmo Bleu I had a pretty good experience, so I went back, but this time it was not satisfying at all. Although it is 15% off for Princeton student on Monday, somehow they charge you more. I made the appointment on line and they didnt tell you what the price is until you pay for it. And there seems to be only one barber on Monday who didn't really do a good job from my point of view. So it might be better if you call them to make the appointment and ask what the price would be and who would be your hairdresser beforehand. read more

I went to Cosmo Bleu for a keratin treatment, and it simply did not work. There was a visible difference for less than a week, then my hair went back to its normal frizzy state. When I called to ask for a re-do or a refund, the manager (who was quite rude on the phone) would not give me either. Mind you, these treatments are certainly not cheap, and I'm a grad student with very little income. I paid over $200 just to be disappointed. I wouldn't send someone to this salon unless I wanted them to be cheated and swindled. The owner kept trying to find excuses about why she didn't need to refund me, but if the service isn't rendered, the customer's money should be returned - no matter what. I had my curly hair cut by May. I hadn't had it cut for five months and it had grown out. May understood exactly what I wanted: clean up the layers, and keept it long, but shaped (no triangle effect). What was really interesting about her way of cutting was that she didn't cut a lot when it was wet. Rather, she blew it out straight and went to work from there. I have to say, it is one of the best cuts I've gotten. Also, she gave me an amazing 10 minute shampoo with a great scalp massage. She was friendly, personable, and had a great attitude. Talked some, but not too much. Overall, I was impressed with the staff, the salon's cleanliness and the general good feeling I got when I walked through the door on a busy Saturday AM. No snobby or rushed feelings! And the price, $49 was reasonable. read more

Cosmo Bleu did an excellent job on everyone's hair for my wedding! Leading up to the big day, I made several visits - for a haircut, for a wedding hair trial, and for the rehearsal dinner. During each visit, everyone on the staff made me feel like a valued customer. For the rehearsal dinner and wedding, I showed Katherine photos of hairdos that I liked on Pinterest, and she executed them flawlessly. She encouraged me to let her know if any of the bobby pins hurt, so my updo ended up being comfortable for the entire wedding day. It also held up well throughout a long night of dancing. Cosmo Bleu accommodated all of my bridesmaids for simultaneous appointments, and they respected everyone's requests while making sure that all of the styles looked nice together. I brought food for my bridesmaids to eat, and they even set up a table to serve it. I also appreciated that I was able to arrange the appointments by email. I highly recommend Cosmo Bleu for wedding in Princeton - it's conveniently located on Nassau Street, and it has a very pleasant atmosphere! read more

I moved to Princeton from NYC where I was spoiled by great hair salons and nail salons. I was skeptical about this place. My hair is fine and needs volume in a bad way. It's not just about the layers, you really need to know what you're doing! Cole turned out to be fantastic. He cut my hair twice and both times I was thrilled. Very professional, modest and gentle. I simply love this place!!! Everytime I get an outstanding cut, a great wash, and a lasting bounce. They usually always have space, which is really really great for busy people, but don't expect that you can walk in every time. They use Paul Mitchel and Bumble and Bumble, which are two brands I favor. The cuts are always very even, and after my hair is shiny, healthy, and very bouncy!!! All the employees are really nice. I have curly hair, and a lot of stylists just don't get it right. But I told him specifically what I wanted and he did an amazing job. For once I have a style that suits my natural curls! I travel an hour to get my hair cut and colored by Victoria. There's never been a time that I haven't had multiples of compliments and get asked who does my hair. I live in a very upscale area so a nod is usually not easy to get. Friendly people, excellent stylists. Victoria is the best! read more

I went in this morning for a brazilian wax, and it was only OK. Would not pay $50 to go there again though! The waxer was not too professional - she put on a lot of wax at one time (you are supposed to do it section by section) and didn't pull it off fast enough, so it was very painful. She also didn't let the wax cool a bit before spreading it on my skin (it was VERY hot, almost more painful than the actual ripping off the wax) or do a very clean job. I'm going to have to tweeze a few strays myself later. I only give Cosmo Bleu three stars because she was a very nice person. The experience could definitely have been better. All in all, would not recommend unless you are desperate. read more

WARNING: DO NOT TRUST THE HAIRSTYLISTS The place looked professional, tricked you by dressing up the place with cool decorating when in reality they were unprofessional people who didn't know what the hell they were doing. It was by far the worst haircut I have ever had. I was looking at my phone the lady told me to stop moving. Than she threatened me saying If I didn't stop moving she was going to make my hair Lopsided. She had attitude and messed up my hair. I didn't realize until I left that it was lopsided because she curled the ends of my hair so I didn't notice. The next day I had to pay another 90-100 dollars to fix my hot mess. I wasted another 10 min calling to find an appointment. When I finally got the haircut the next day she told me that in the 20 years she has been doing hair this hair cut was one of the worst she has ever seen. So I highly do not recommend it. I had long hair, now I have the shortest hair I have ever had in my life because the woman ruined it. read more

I have been to Cosmo Bleu many times over the last 4 years. The staff is very good but the business side has gotten worse as the years went on. Prices and policy change without proper notice. Management doesn't seem to know what they are doing. How they run the business and how they respond to complaints. I have experienced it myself and I have seen happen to someone else while I was getting a service. Now more recently, one of their best assets, a nail/wax technician, has left. From what I heard, the reasons for her departure are very similar to what I have experienced as a client. I am looking for another salon. Any ideas? read more
