Since this place wasn't as busy, we didn't have the most positive outlook, but were definitely proven wrong after eating! - PARKING - Street parking only, I'd imagine it can be difficult to find a spot since you're on the main road. We managed to slide into a spot right next to the entrance! - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - The inside isn't very large at all, with some bar seating, a few 2-4 person tables, and window bar seating. The walls are decorated with quirky art, and I liked the vibrance of the entire interior. The man that served us welcomed us in and was very friendly. After we ordered, the food didn't take longer than 10 minutes to come out. - FOOD - Cosmos Burger: When this came out, I was pretty shocked at the size of it! You could definitely get full off one burger, but luckily my fiance and I were sharing. It was nice attention to detail as they provided us with two plates and a knife! The edges of the patty were crisp, and the inside meat was juicy. There aren't any veggies, but I think if it did have something to cut the fat, this burger might be close to perfect! Tater Tots: Pretty darn crispy! I have had crispier tots, but these were solid. I'm a tater tot lover, so I always pick these over fries if both are on a menu. Hibiscus Lemonade: I felt like this was a bit too bitter rather than tart for my taste. It was still a nice break in-between each greasy bite of burger though. - OVERALL - One of my top burger spots for now! It was very hard to find a parking lot. And caution, cosmos burger is right in front of a bus stop. The entire front of the restaurant has a red kerb, so fair warning!!! Lol There isn't a lot of seating available. That said, they do try to make as much of seating possible. There are three tables outside along the walkway, and they even make use of the periphery of the restaurants to create seating that looks out to the walkway. We ordered a beer - cosmos lager and a lavender lemonade. The cosmos lager was ok - a little bland. The lavender lemonade was good, a little too sweet for me even though I requested less syrup. Nice light taste of lavender. We ordered a basic burger, the hot chicken sandwich, and regular fries. It took a while to come out, but it was delivered to us piping hot! The basic burger was delicious! Double patty smash burger with caramelised edges, and the bun was nice and soft. My hot chicks sandwich was delicious! The two tenders were crisp, hot, and delicious. Every bite was delicious. And the burger is so huge I couldn't finish it. The fries were wonderful, delicious, and crispy. It's one of the best fries we've had. We will definitely be coming back. Just FYI, if you sit along the periphery of the restaurant and look out into the street, you may end up getting blocked by those tables on the walkway. Had a wonderful Sunday lunch here. It's a small burger joint on the coast highway. Wife had the hot chick's sandwich with looked fabulous and she loved it. I had the basic burger. I heard good things so had to try Cosmos tonight. My bride got the Truffle Burger and I got the Cosmos Burger. We split a Chicks Fries. The draft beer was served up properly in a cold glass. Our server, Elan was very good. Enthusiastic, fun, and knew the menu very well. Our burgers were truly fantastic. Two medium size smashed patties with a nice rough crunchy edge but super juicy. I had a bite of the Truffle Burger and loved that as much as mine. The Chicks Fries come with a chopped up chicken tender and the bits of chicken were done perfectly. Tender and not a bit dry with a little crunchy breading. Plenty of cheese and caramelized onion not just dumped on top but properly portioned throughout the order. My bride was a little disappointed there wasn't a Pinot Noir choice but she was fine with a Diet Coke. There are a lot of great burger choices in North County, but this should be very high on anyone's list. Received a coupon for 50% off a second burger, so stopped for lunch. Ordered a Cosmos and a Better Mac. Impressed with the size of the burgers, the toppings and the bun. But one of the ingredients in the burger patties is apparently barbecue sauce, which overpowers the tastes of the sauces and toppings, and even the beef. We're back in Oceanside! Didn't have time to try this place last time! We made time today! My husband had the spicy jam burger and I had the cosmo's burger. We were surprised that both came as "double ". We both enjoyed our burgers but our only complaint was they were greasy. We also ordered truffle fries and cauliflower bites. I recently heard about Downtown Oceanside's newest burger joint and I decided to give Cosmos Burger & Beer a try. They are conveniently located on N Coast Hwy right near the heart of all the action. The interior is small, but can seat couples and a few groups and they also have "bar seating" and a few chairs facing outside to catch some people-watching. The interior decor is colorful, trendy and hip and has many callbacks to Oceanside, so I can see them trying to fit-in and win the hearts of the local community. Their menu has a variety of burgers, fries, beers, lemonade, kombucha and they even have an artisan hotdog; with everything being under $16. *NOTE* Although there is no Kids Menu, if you ask, they have food options & portions for kids. I enjoyed my Spicy Jam Burger, which wasn't too hot and very delicious. I was informed by the owner that they make every patty using the brisket meat of the beef. This helps to retain all the flavor in every bite. I also enjoyed my truffle fries and they were seasoned perfectly. I highly recommend these. Their monkey fries were also pretty tasty too. The magic really happened with their truffle honey chicken tenders and I would order these again & again! They were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I didn't try their beers, but I REALLY enjoyed their housemade lavender-lemonade and hibiscus-lemonade. I got the Cosmos burger that came with grilled onions and their house sauce which was really good and seems like it was mustard based, but I am not too sure. It was also pretty big, I wanted to eat it all but I had to stop for the last 3 bites because I was getting overly full since I also got a side of truffle fries. The sides are definitely shareable so if you are with another person sharing would be best because there was no way I could finish them! This seems to be a trend around north county towns... Smash Burgers. I was cruising coast highway by foot and stumbled upon Cosmos. I knew I recognized this logo because they also have a spot at WindMill Food Hall in Carlsbad. Eren approached me immediately and asked how he could help me. I was very impressed with how welcoming this spot was. The burger came out almost immediately. When I took my first bite I knew that their food has been a slow craft of perfection over time. I didn't know this place had opened up, and a friend suggested it while we were out last weekend. we rolled on down and was greeted by an amazing smell coming out their door... They did a nice remodel after the last tenants left and the place looks great inside. We actually got to meet the owner, really nice guys from Turkey who've come here to fulfill their dream. And they're willing to work hard to achieve it, very admirable. But I don't go to a restaurant because I admire the owners, i go to a restaurant because of the food. This place is freaking amazing... Our food came piping hot straight from the kitchen and looked as good as it did in the pictures. The first thing I did was take a piece of meat off of my burger, and tried it by itself. Definitely high-quality beef with a wonderful flavor, I was pleased!
