The walls are decorated with quirky art, and I liked the vibrance of the entire interior. The man that served us welcomed us in and was very friendly. After we ordered, the food didn't take longer than 10 minutes to come out. - FOOD - Cosmos Burger: When this came out, I was pretty shocked at the size of it! You could definitely get full off one burger, but luckily my fiance and I were sharing. It was nice attention to detail as they provided us with two plates and a knife! The edges of the patty were crisp, and the inside meat was juicy. There aren't any veggies, but I think if it did have something to cut the fat, this burger might be close to perfect! We stopped here last night because I wanted to try their vegetarian cauliflower burger. The woman taking our order was super kind and explained the menu clearly to me and patrons who ordered after me. There is a small seating area next to the cash register where you can watch their two TVs. I asked if it would be possible to put the NFL playoff game on one of the TVs and she made it happen. 10/10 customer service. The food was pretty yummy too. Our server, Elan was very good. Enthusiastic, fun, and knew the menu very well. Our burgers were truly fantastic. Two medium size smashed patties with a nice rough crunchy edge but super juicy. I had a bite of the Truffle Burger and loved that as much as mine. The Chicks Fries come with a chopped up chicken tender and the bits of chicken were done perfectly. Tender and not a bit dry with a little crunchy breading. Plenty of cheese and caramelized onion not just dumped on top but properly portioned throughout the order. My bride was a little disappointed there wasn't a Pinot Noir choice but she was fine with a Diet Coke. There are a lot of great burger choices in North County, but this should be very high on anyone's list. But one of the ingredients in the burger patties is apparently barbecue sauce, which overpowers the tastes of the sauces and toppings, and even the beef. I recently heard about Downtown Oceanside's newest burger joint and I decided to give Cosmos Burger & Beer a try. They are conveniently located on N Coast Hwy right near the heart of all the action. The interior is small, but can seat couples and a few groups and they also have "bar seating" and a few chairs facing outside to catch some people-watching. The interior decor is colorful, trendy and hip and has many callbacks to Oceanside, so I can see them trying to fit-in and win the hearts of the local community. Their menu has a variety of burgers, fries, beers, lemonade, kombucha and they even have an artisan hotdog; with everything being under $16. *NOTE* Although there is no Kids Menu, if you ask, they have food options & portions for kids. I enjoyed my Spicy Jam Burger, which wasn't too hot and very delicious. I was informed by the owner that they make every patty using the brisket meat of the beef. This helps to retain all the flavor in every bite. I also enjoyed my truffle fries and they were seasoned perfectly. I highly recommend these. Their monkey fries were also pretty tasty too. The magic really happened with their truffle honey chicken tenders and I would order these again & again! They were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I didn't try their beers, but I REALLY enjoyed their housemade lavender-lemonade and hibiscus-lemonade. Although I didn't care much for their tiramasu (it was the soggy texture), I enjoyed everything else I ate. We were surprised that both came as "double ". We both enjoyed our burgers but our only complaint was they were greasy. We also ordered truffle fries and cauliflower bites. It was also pretty big, I wanted to eat it all but I had to stop for the last 3 bites because I was getting overly full since I also got a side of truffle fries. The sides are definitely shareable so if you are with another person sharing would be best because there was no way I could finish them! I knew I recognized this logo because they also have a spot at WindMill Food Hall in Carlsbad. Eren approached me immediately and asked how he could help me.
