We live in Burbank and lived here for many many years and my parents like this place because they have decent food, but we will never return again from the distrust we have with the workers there. My younger sister forgot her earpods at the restaurant. We noticed like not even 5 minutes after we left. We go to get them back because we can track them down. The cashier in her 20s, who is also the daughter of the owner, was trying to get rid of us by saying oh someone probably got them or it's probably in the trash and told my mother to look in the trash can. The worker is very shameless. My sister knew they were still in the resturant and said it's nearby and close by where the cashier is also moving where she was walking around. After minutes later of looking the cashier finally gave up and came to us saying oh I found it and walked away. My sister tried to ask where she found it but was avoiding her questions. She did not apologize. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Not very good people read more

Finally we find a traditional Mexican restaurant in Burbank! First time we came here I got the huevos rancheros for breakfast, the second time we got the Sopa 7 mares! The staff is always friendly and the soup was so big they were nice enough to split it into 2 bowls for my hubby and I! We always get micheladas and they're ok here, think it needed a tiny little bit more of tomato mix! We will definitely keep coming here! read more

Was driving around looking for a place to eat something cold on a hot day, and cold seafood came to mind. Specifically, shrimp cocktail and fish tacos. So, heard of Costa Azul, and figured, might as well try the place out. Received chips and salsa first, but who gets salsa with corn and beans inside? Never seen that before in eating authentic Mexican food, but ok, strange and different. Looked over the menu, and my eyes popped out because wow, have to say, it's pretty expensive! For a whole in the wall restaurant, their prices sure were pricy. I ordered their Coctel De Camaron (Mexican Shrimp Cocktail) and bf had their fish tacos. When we received our food, the food was mediocre and lacked flavor. Such a disappointment, for spending so much money! I could've made a better coctel! The fish tacos, as my bf said, are far better at Del Taco and a lot less expensive. So, totally wasn't impressed with their food, and will not be back. read more

I finally went here for lunch after years of driving by. I went with the fish taco combo, based on the reviews. The tacos were much bigger than I thought, but still the standard two-corn-tortillas-with-stuff-on-top style. The fish is breaded, which is not usually my favorite. The sauce was excellent. The whole taco experience was great, and I am so going back. Rice and beans were, well, rice and beans. Next time, I'll be getting two fish tacos ala carte, and that will definitely fill me up for lunch. I wish their salsas were spicier, and I'll be asking if they have a non-breaded option, but even if they don't, I'll be back for sure. read more

Found this place by appetite default after Monsterpalooza...and i gotta say its some one of thee best places to go to for Mariscos. I myself got the Camarones Rancheros and wasn't disappointed one bit. But looking at the caldos and shrimp cocktails other patrons were getting, i can tell this place hooks it all up righteously. Been here waaaay back in the day (at least 7yrs ago) and had the 7 mares soup and it was pretty good. Came here last week with a co-worker and feasted! I got the shrimp cocktail and was very happy with it! the flavor was good and the portion of shrimp was very healthy, not like some places who skimp out and just load extra veggies in lieu of shrimp. My friend ordered a shrimp ceviche tostada and OMG there was like a 3-4" pile of shrimp on top! She also got camarones a la plancha and they just smelled so good i had to steal a bite. HOLY CRAP WAS IT GOOD!!! The beans and rice are just kind of "meh" but those grilled shrimps were a foodgasm waiting to happen. read more

We went by Café De Olla and it had a waiting list to get in. We were not able to wait so we looked on Yelp for another place close by so we came to Costa Azul and we are so glad we did. They have a restaurant with nice/clean booths to sit down or the option to order and take food to go. We had the Pozolé and Chile verde and it was Amazing!!! Also, the service was fantastic! This review is for the takeout side only. I have never eaten in the restaurant, but i should, cause the takeout is freaking awesome! Cheap and tasty = awesome in my books. Service is friendly, fast and the food is as good as I have had in the area. The taco's and burrito's are delicious and full of tastyness. I keep plan on trying something else, but cant go past them. I was confused where to enter because there is the taqueria side and the dine-in side but it's all one place. We needed a quick bite before catching a plane at the airport around the corner so we ordered and paid for a couple street tacos, an asada sope and a chile relleno from the taqueria menu. After about 20 I was worried we were going to miss our flight and asked if our food was ready. It came after about 5 more minutes but it was so worth the wait. Seriously the best chile relleno I've ever had. It was huge and smothered in authentic salsa not some crappy cheap tomato sauce.The sope was packed with meat that was tender and delicious, not cheap and full of gristle. I'm never on this side of town but I will drive the 40 miles to eat here again. I give 5 stars for the food but service maybe 4 stars. I mean how long does it take to throw some meat on a taco and sope. I'm thinking it was because of the relleno batter which takes a little time because it was very fresh. They give you chips and salsa before your meal. The food portion was good, for sure filled me up and left some on the plate. I had the combo which says it comes with a salad or soup but was never asked which one I wanted so they just have me salad but I would have much rather have had the soup, lesson learned if they don't ask tell them which one. Food was bland and had to put salt on the rice. Wish there was more flavor in the food. You get a lollipop when your check comes but I would have much rather ordered fried ice cream but they didn't have it on the menu. Overall ok but not sure if we will be back. read more

The waitress was very nice, but we waited a long time for our food. we ordered the following: Grilled Shrimp - over salted, had to literally wipe off the salt with my napkin Grill fish - good in taste, but lacked the crispy texture you except from the grill Fish stew/soup - was good Clam Chowder - had to return it to the kitchen because it was milky in texture and tasted like flour meal. What we did like. Chips and salsa was very taste, the green roasted salsa was yummy. Fried beans were good. Grilled carne asada quesadilla was taste. I had driven by this place a couple of times and just tried it tonight. To be fair, I should've ordered a seafood dish. Instead I ordered a carnitas burrito - basic fare. Good presentation, but the Mexican rice was mushy and the carnitas way over cooked, almost burned. Even in that condition it was still edible and flavorful to the salty side. The restaurant was clean but you could tell they have had plumbing problems. There was a strong cleaning agent smell fighting it out with the sewer line smell. Everyone has an off day - maybe this was their day to be less than 100% . I'll give them another chance and order the seafood next time. read more

Anyway, the "mixto" is a combo of shrimp and fish. You can get just fish or shrimp of course. All costa azul tacos come with this coleslaw kinda dressing. It's awesome, very mayoey. Yeah thats a word now. They are sloppy, greasy tacos that are usually spciy and just so filling and great. Don't forget to get the General Lee colored sauce. Also if you say "I heard about this place by watching The Human Centipede" then you get a free claw game. Which brings me to the reason why you MUST STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING NOW AND GO PLAY THE GREATEST FUCKING CLAW GAME EVER!!! It's 50 cents a shot, and you can scoop out some unreal stuff snails, some stuffed dogs, I've seen bears and cats, all different colors and sizes. My best day was 4 stuffed animals on about 3 plays I think. UPDATE: Actually yesterday we got 9 stuffed animals. We got two moose, a fucking dolphin, and a couple randos. I actually got two in one shot by pulling up a brown dog of some kind and while it came up it knocked in a blue stuffed fish! So come here and get those sloppy tacos, and shove em into your face as you loose control. Then gain more control of your life by scooping out stuff animals that were sewn up by 28 pound chinese kids. I LOVE THE ORANGE HOT SAUCE. If I had a day where I could watch "To Catch a Predator" then go to Costa Azul to punch my face with mixto tacos, then milkfist, my life would be better in this hell hole of a town.
