To say the least I was a little disappointed.. We can in for lunch hour around 1:30 and they were completely understaffed. There were only 3 people working and almost all of the options to make your food were completely out. First of the staff was amazing! Initially I was impressed by the fact that they were making their own tortillas. After that it went down hill. The associate offered me a sample of pork with was cold. I then realized all the meat was a rolling cart. Not being heated or kept at temperature. We continued our order everything else seemed fine until we sat down and the A/C was blowing our napkins, food and drinks away. We packed up, heated our food at home and it was fine. But the meat sitting on a random rolling cart rubbed me the wrong way. It was fun trying a new Mexican place. That was my turn off. I don't need salmonella. Ok let me level with you, I thought a smothered, sweet pork burrito sounded crazy. I absolutely loved it! Highly recommend. Every time we come in here the service is great! Been a patron of this location for years and had delightful service, staffed properly, clean, fresh tortillas and never out of the ingredients. My last two visits have been awful. What's been awful? Well, take what I said above and reverse it. The last trip had me waiting at the counter for so long I left. That was driven by short staff, out of ingredients, messy restaurant and serving line behind the glass. I hope the proprietor/manager takes this criticism constructively and rights the ship. I ordered the honey shrimp quesadilla and wouldn't order again. The shrimp was ok but there was a ton of honey sauce with a smattering of cheese that you couldn't taste or see. We love this place. Food is delicious, specially the sweet pork smothered enchiladas.

This place used to rock! However, now the portions are such that when you order a taco with steak, within every bite, you get more flour tortilla than anything else. In fact, it feels like you are eating a heated tortilla until you reach the bottom of the taco. They are using a tiny scooper for everything, so you barely get 2 tsp of very bland "rice that tastes like it came out of a box". My daughter's words. The black beans appear to be canned. The meat was good and well seasoned, just not adequately portioned to fill a taco, let alone two. They need to reexamine their portions and not charge for a little over a fruit ball filler of guacamole. The service was mediocre at best, clearly understaffed with young teenagers. A fly landed in my son's food, and they did not replace it. Needless to say, we will not be going there again at his insistence. We were there right before the dinner crowd, so there was plenty of everything. Chipotle beats and Q'Doba beats this place in every category but ambiance. This place is average. Out of state people hyped this place up, but this is a Q'Doba or Chipotle with a different name. First time I went I tried the sweet pork burrito. The pork was tangy but you taste more of the sweetness than the meat itself. Their green chili is below mild. I suggest they get acquainted with extra hot Pueblo chillies to give it more oomph. I went a second time and tried a steak burrito. The meat was super bland. Tried their tres leches cake. It has a nice flavor but the sponge is on the dry side. Needs extra moisture on the sponge and the cake will be spot on. My wife wanted to try their chicken but they were out so they asked us to wait 15 minutes. Their horchata machine was dried out. We asked them to make more and no one made any. Same with their strawberry lemonade. Their employees are nice but that aspect of it took the customer service down the drain. The place was empty for them not to take care of the horchata machine. Compared to Chipotle or Q'Doba their portions are way better for the price, and they make their tortillas fresh. FAVORITE PLACE TO GO! It's a boujee version of chipotle and even if you live on the other side of town it's so worth the drive! The steak is a must! It's so juicy and perfectly cooked for the type of place that it is. I always get a salad / bowl with the tortilla on the bottom and it's perfect. Especially with the vinaigrette! I was pretty disappointed with this place. I ordered the tacos with grilled steak, at least I think there was steak in there. Upon asking what type of meat I wanted, the person making my tacos put the smallest amount of meat I've ever seen on a taco, along with maybe 10 shreds of cheese, 3 pieces of lettuce, the tiniest amount of guacamole, and anything else I requested. I'm not sure if I just got the new guy making my tacos, or if this is how they are supposed to be made, but I came in hungry and left hungry. My wife and I had the vegetarian bowl which they customized for me to have habaneros and mango. Very tasty. My son had a pork burrito which he reported as very good. Finding restaurants who can accommodate carnivores and vegetarians is sometimes challenging but Costa Vida rose to the challenge. We had a table outside with an umbrella making it quite comfortable. This restaurant has extremely poor management. We ordered five meals online one hour before our scheduled pick up. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was a line of angry customers that had been waiting a long time for their online orders. We were told that our order was in process, but after 45 minutes of waiting, nothing had been started. We finally gave up and headed home without our food. We're hoping that we get reimbursed for our meals, but everything is so disorganized at the restaurant , we don't know what's going to happen. read more

Even more disgusting is young kid on service line not replacing his plastic gloves after wiping down the metal food prep area? And then serving food. And then patting down food he's serving to a customer? Seriously? Also, why are you not wiping down a container of queso with queso dripping on the sides and bottom? And then serving this to customers? We watched all of this being done to an unwary customer who wasn't paying attention to the food prep. Poor sap. Does anyone get training here? The sweet pork is amazing. My wife doesn't typically like meats but she loves the sweet pork. On the healthier side is the grilled chicken which is also very good. Best bang for buck is the burrito, but salads offer a lot as well... They come with both sour cream and guac, unlike most other entrees. Pro tip: Add fajita veggies to any entree for free!! read more
