Very bland. I prefer Chipotle. I've tried this place twice and I was never satisfied.

Food is good but service usually isn't. The sweet pork salad and green chili nachos keep us coming back for now. Unfortunately the service had been bad and keeps getting worse. I can deal with a bad day or two but it's become routine. It doesn't matter if you order on line or in person they will mess up your order. My last experience involved an on line order and I was in a hurry so I just grabbed it and left and store enough when I got home I found items missing and mixed up. I can't eat beans or cheese so I order the beans on the side so someone else can eat them, my salad had beans and the other one had no beans and no beans on the side. The best part is, the printed slip with the order on it that they use to make the order was on the bag and it was correct all they had to do was read and follow it!!!!! It was worse than that I'm only giving a small example. Hopefully they can get this train back on track because the food can be good if it's assembled correctly. read more

THEY BARELY PUT ANY MEAT!! everytime i go in i'm disappointed to find half of my burrito has no meat at all when the burritos are quite expensive. I payed for extra meat and they still put almost no meat at all. if i'm paying $10 for a burrito and $2.50 for extra meat i expect there to be meat in every bite. read more

Do not order Costa Vida through a delivery service. They gave the delivery driver water instead of lemonade and the food came ice cold.

The food is really good. They used to have Latina women working the serving line. They were great. They don't have the same people there anymore. The ones they have now don't listen, don't ask what you want in your food, beans, rice, extra cheese. They are not good. It's frustrating going in there. The food is still good. read more

I get there and I'm greeted by a happy polite young man, I order my food and it starts to go well. Then two teenagers get in line behind me, they apparently knew one of the girls that worked there. They order their food and it's placed behind mine. The girl starts to finish my order, then she sets it down picks up her friends and makes theirs. They jump me in line and pay, then the girl walks away. Another girl comes up and almost jumps mine again. I speak up and ask her if she could please finish mine so I can pay and leave. Called in an order due to covid-19, and overheard the girls complaining about my order. I kept trying to get their attention but no one was listening to me. I understand these are stressful times but there is no reason to be bashing on customers orders, especially while they are on the phone hearing everything you say. Excellent enchiladas and salads. Personally love the sweet pork. The Mango dressing is freaking awesome. I have to admit I didn't try a wide selection of their menu, as I loved their sweet pork salad or enchiladas and just didn't get around to trying much else. Tortillas are made fresh in house. Lots of good toppings and dressings to choose from. Both the black beans and pinto beans are good. Rice wasn't overdressed. Overall a good value and quality! read more

This was my first visit. Had the quesadilla. Was wanting fajitas so was disappointed it was not a menu option. The steak quesadilla was fine. It's literally cheese & meat. I have always liked their food, but the past several times I've been there the girls making the food were very rude. They respond in sharp disrespectful tones. They would put the meat/toppings on my meal and then take it off again (screwing me over on a very small portion) A few times they have completely messed up my order. Not impressed with this location. Totally skimped on both mine and my husband's sweet pork. I usually can get it to last through the whole salad, but only a few bites in it was gone. Very disappointing. They gave me way too much lettuce, too. Then when she asked what I wanted on it, I told her very clearly each item, but she still went to every item, including the ones I didn't say, and asked again if I wanted them. What was the point of asking me the first question? Just annoying. The flavor seemed off on my mango dressing, too. Craving has not been filled. So coming from Southern California I am a bit of a Mexican food snob. It's okay Mexican food. Not overly flavorful and it is HEAVY with a capital H. The price is decent, but I am not a huge fan of being up-charged for things that should normally come on a burrito. I mean $1 for guacamole and $0.50 for sour cream seems a bit unreasonable. I've been coming here since it opened and I'm a huge fan of Costa Vida food. But today I'm dropping my review down from 5 stars to 3. The food is fresh, tasty, and the tortillas amazing. However, they've gotten super stingy with the meat portions. It depends on who you get but there are a couple of ladies working the counter who never really smile or act even remotely friendly and who really make the meat portion tight. Today was the worst I've ever seen it. She put 2 chunks of chicken in my kid's taco. My salad had about an ounce and a half of chicken. I kept searching through my salad to find the chicken. My salad costs $11. I think an over $10 salad deserves at least 3 or 4 ounces of protein. Not sure if I'm going to come back for a while. It's gotten expensive for what you get. read more

Disappointed with today's meal of chicken nachos. Usually I come for lunch but the husband and I thought we would stop in for dinner. He got sweet pork enchiladas. He said the taste was good but seemed skimpy. He had to ask for the pico, which is normally offered. As for my nachos, it was mostly chps with little chicken and a sprinkling of cheese. I have been patient because I loved CV salads. Lately the Nampa store has been awful. Service- there is never steak ready at dinner rush and people are standing around. They don't seem to be organized or trained. Tonight was the last straw. My salad had a bottle cap in it, the lettuce hearts and a large jalapeño slice that was not requested. I bit into the bottle cap that was mixed in with the beans. I have reported this but I feel this store needs training and the staff are lazy. They were obviously drinking soda while making the food- gross! Never going back and I am sad because the food has great flavor. read more

I love their food!! There salad is big and so yummy! Their guacamole is spicy and the chips are delicious. I totally recommend it!

Went back here today on a whim for lunch. I tried the chicken tacos with raspberry sauce, which my boss recommended... sweet isn't really my thing, but I was actually pleasantly surprised at them. I'll be back to try some more stuff in the future. read more

Yikes! THE "WORST FOOD" IN ALL OF CANYON COUNTY! My family and I just left there, and oh what a horrible meal! I was amazed as I watched the "over weigh" minimum wage help prepare our order. I was stunned as she "slopped" the rice, beans & meat on to my tortilla, then she drenched everything in mild sauce, a full ladle full of some soup like substance. They should call this a soup burrito, (by the way I ordered the dry burrito). We won't be back. This has got to be the single worst customer service experience of my entire life, which is saying a lot because I have had some awful experiences. When I first arrived the store was completely empty except for one woman who was already paying and getting ready to leave. There was no line. I went up front, ready to order, and when nobody came to take my order I started telling my order to the nearest person (there were 5 people on the floor, all of which could see me.) The person I began telling my order to, who was standing around doing nothing, snapped at me and told me he wouldn't take my order and that that was the job of a girl further down the line. I waited for that girl to come over, and she continued ignoring me, also standing and doing nothing. Finally, the cashier, who was the one person who was busy, took the initiative to come and help me. After she finished with the first half of my order (while my food cooked on the line), she walked away and began restocking stuff. I then stood and waited for 5 minutes for somebody to come finish my order, which didn't happen until a manager came up front from the back and finished it up for me. Finally, as I was checking out, the woman covering for the cashier (who was still the only one busy) added the order for the guy behind me to my bill, after I told her 3 times that he wasn't with me. If I could give no stars, I would have. The only thing that redeemed this place for me was the one busy cashier girl who apparently does everything in that restaurant. Terrible experience. read more

Ever been asked, "What's your favorite food" question before? Well, until now, I never had an answer; now I do: Costa Vida's Sweet Pulled Pork Salad! (And I'm not a salad person!) In all honesty, if I was eating the pulled pork by itself, it would have been way too *overly* sweet. But a small portion of it, spread thinly (remember the review about portion control? It's true!) at the bottom of the aluminum bowl, followed by a great helping of salad, sprinkled with parmesan cheese sprinkled, and topped something that would remind you of a spicy ranch dressing, it's pure Heaven! I'd never tried Horchata beverage before, but it was so good, I stood in front of the container for about 3 minutes, chugging it down, and pouring more in my cup! I met a nice, Mexican family there who offered the recipe. I've been making it at home ever since. The only down side *is* if you're the type who wants to melt their insides with spiciness: this won't be the place for you, unless you bring your own habenero. However, the food is so good and authentic, you can't go wrong! Bring your own pepper if need be, but at least try this place. You'll soon be in love, the same way I am! read more

Not sure why the meat is sour. But each time I eat here it seems sour. Anyway I have noticed that the food is relatively fresh. And the staff is friendly and works fast to get the food out quickly, especially when busy. The busiest time is at noon as you'd expect and they are fast even if overwhelmed. read more

I've been to Costa Vida before but a couple days ago I went to this one in Nampa for the first time. I ordered food over the phone on my way home from work so it would be ready when I got there. I was shocked at how I was treated. First of all the girl who answered the phone was very short and had me repeat everything I said multiple times because she said that my phone was too quiet. No, I have a brand new galaxy that was on high, she sounded like she was very distracted and I was not her priority. It seemed like everything I said I would have to repeat and then she would say it and it wasn't even close to what I said. I tried to be patient because things happen. So I get there and no one greets me. Finally a guy asks if I needed help and I said I placed an order over the phone. I look down the line and a different guy is looking at the receipt saying no one put a pick up time on it, so my food had not even been made! At this point the girl on the phone walks up. She was more friendly in person but kept repeating my order wrong which made me worried because they were in the process of making the food she was listing off. After I'm done paying she just kind of strolls off without saying anything, no thank you or anything, and I'm watching everyone behind the counter and it looks like they are having social hour! Hardly anyone of probably the 8 or 9 employees were doing anything except talking and eating!! I get my food and I leave. They messed up a couple things in their rush but nothing too huge that I felt I should call. I'm giving this place a 1 star solely because of the customer service. I love their food and I want to go back but I won't because of how awful my experience was. Oh and I caught the girls name that answered the phone... Mayra. I had not even heard of Costa Vida until today, I was on my way to Winco and saw that it was a Mexican grill and it was open. There where only a couple people in the place ,so I was worried the food was gonna be bad. Wow what a surprise, it was awesome. I had the sweet pork enchiladas, sooooo goooood!!!! next time the raspberry chicken. I don't know if I got lucky but the girl running the front counter was great! she let me taste the sauces and the meats before I made my choice.
