This Costco is the bastion of poor selection. Whenever a new product is introduced to customers you can count on two things happening at Puyallup Costco. 1. Not enough product is available 2. If it is popular, you will never see it again. We often solve this issue by going to Tacoma or Federal Way, which seems to be better stocked and offer more variety. This Costco takes a very conservative approach to product ordering and it could learn from other local Costcos. The only things that are excellent at this Costco are new ordering machines at the food court and ease of transiting in the store. Customer service here depends on the mood of the store, sometimes it's pleasant and sometimes it's not. read more

This is for the food court the mocha freeze about 2 moths ago the mocha freeze has changed to the worst, they stop putting coffee in it , it taste like just milk , we thought maybe all Costco did this but we want to Costco on 72 in Tacoma there was a little better but still not like they use to be, we had to go to Federal Way for a appointment and stop at Costco there, it was 100 % better just like we remembered two months ago. Jon Scott, Assistant Manager, is a very very helpful man. I was displeased with our original encounter with the membership desk as we were given incorrect information, to contact customer service to sort out my price adjustment, and written off without even a budge. Then, after contacting customer service I was even more displeased, as low and behold "price adjustments must happen in the warehouse of purchase". Luckily customer service escalated my request for a simple price adjustment (of $200, so it was worth it) to Jon Scott. After 2 minutes on the phone he had already heard all he needed and given me a time to come see him, and get it handled! Thank goodness there are still good people! read more

Love this Costco Location! Even during the busy holidays, I always feel like the people who work here go above and beyond for the members. Just before Thanksgiving I had to pop in for their amazing pumpkin pies and was worried they may be sold out. It was crowded, I was tired, my shoes were pinching and I still had client appointments. There was a really nice and well-spoken young man named Christian, who went out of his way to make sure I had all I needed and more! I bought the extra pies he put in my cart for me just because his great attitude made me forget about all of my little inconveniences and gave me the inspiration to pay it forward. So I gifted the extra pies. He said he was new to Costco but by the way he handled himself in a crowded, busy situation I would have thought he owned the place. He was just as thoughtful and helpful to the grumpy man who came up next to me and helped him, too. Costco does not have 'sales' people but I love that they have 'customer service' people. I find this store in particular hires really great young men and women who seem to be confident and hardworking, which is amazing to me. (I may start poaching them for my own business - lol) I just wanted to say 'Thank You' for making a pre-holiday last minute shopping trip into a really enjoyable experience. They really do a great job in staffing the Puyallup Costco and that is the biggest reason I go out of my way shop here. I shop at Puyallup Costco all the time. It is absolute chaos all the time. There needs to be another one built in the area to help with explosion of population in the Puyallup area. So yesterday was the first time I was asked by a checker if I wanted boxes for my order and was told I had to sort out the items myself that would go in the boxes. It was very busy, so I said forget it just load the cart. She had a helper and so I wonder what he was for. I was also told I had to completely unload the whole cart to make her job easier. I am so confused by these statements, because then I wonder what her job is if I'm doing all the work for her. So Costco has added lots of self check outs, so I'm thinking the customer has to do all the work nowadays. I spent over $500 at Costco's store, I would hope their employees could help the customers out. I know the Costco employees get paid well. read more

My 1st bad renew about this Costco. I've always been an executive member. Anyways always loved coming to the Costco stores because of the warm feeling that they give you. Well today is different. As the store opens there were people heading inside. I've notice that only a few had their card showing. I didnt see the lady checking people's card until Guess what. I walked in with my husband and mom. Well she looks at me and say Costco card. I wanted to question her why she ask me for the card, yes its policy. But she didnt asked the people next to me who proceed to walk in without showing there card. Or the 5 other people I waited with for them to open the door, as I see then not holding their membership card but just the shopping card. It was my complexion that she question is what I felt. Because the others weren't the same complexion from me walked in before me and I was different. I will not drive to this Costco again. I've shopped at Costco for about 22 years and most of my experience has been good. I also buy things, e.g. artichoke hearts and Kalamata olives, that are too exorbitant for purchase at other stores, which I appreciate. However, my last 2 experiences are bad. Last time I went, a couple of months ago, I bought a lot of plants and flowers. The clerk complained that it would be hard to pack my other items around them and told me I could load the cart myself. I agreed to but a young woman who was supposed to be helping began putting the items in the cart. When I got home I realized that she had simply not put the chicken and the double pack of Nutella in the cart. My first time back, today, I explained to a manager what the problem was. He interrupted several times to take care of other people. Another manager came over and said he would have to go through my past purchases. In sum, I ended up talking with 4 managers, 2 of whom were very rude and patronizing and walked off when I complained how much energy and time it was taking. In sum, it took about 1/2 hour and I had to explain myself 7 or 8 times and none of managers could have cared less about the way my time and money had been wasted or how inconvenient it had been. This is a serious deterioration in customer service. read more

When I went to insert my membership card, it wasn't reading it correctly, so I flagged down the attendant, Daniel. He was really patient and helpful in getting it to read my card correctly and was able to solve the issue quickly for me. Visited the vision center tonight. They were busy, but had about five to six people working. At first I stood at the counter and two older ladies avoided eye contact and continued their conversation. Finally a very nice employee helped me after finishing with her current customer. We returned with my Wife and she had a few questions. A slender young guy helped her, but was condescending and very short with his answers. Ok, no sweat. After finding some frames she had a question, and approached the same guy. Again, short with his answers and he immediately returned to his conversation. The general vibe was not very good, so we left and will find glasses elsewhere. read more

I agree with Michelle L.'s opinion. A great store, but I will not have our family's eye exams done there again. My husband went in after work, the only time he could go, and even with his appointment, the optometrist just wanted to go home and rushed him through. Well, the prescription had him seeing images 'in hexagons', just a mess. So they redid it for free, but she was in the same hurry, and a bit annoyed this time. To be fair, my daughter had an exam there with a male optometrist who was patient and did a good job. However, I would not recommend them. read more

Stay away! I was laughed at for insisting the the Americans with Disabilities Act was being broken by Costco blocking access to the bathrooms. When I asked why the carts were blocking the egress to the bathroom, the clerk laughed at me and said "I am only doing what I was told to do." - really? like you don't have a brain and don't get laws? When asked how someone was supposed to get to the bathroom the man stated that they were supposed to SQUEEZE by the customers IN LINE! I asked "What about those in wheelchairs?" No answer... just a smirk, a laugh and a smug look. When I complained to the manager HE smiled and said "Go ahead and file a complaint." I have. Americans with Disabilities should not be FORCED to try to SQUEEZE by other customers in line to get to the BATHROOM. Managers are supposed to make sure laws are followed - these managers are arrogant beyond measure and don't have a clue about the reality of being disabled nor do they care... As a Canadian, shopping at this Costco was great. Picking up 24 beers for $22? It would be closer to $50 back home. Milk, butter, cheese, chicken, steaks, everything was discounted from what we pay in Vancouver. The selection of everything we needed was good. Very tasty samples throughout the store helped us discover some new products. I'm still craving their bread baked with garlic cloves right into the dough. Makes really good sandwiches. Looking forward to coming back here on my next trip for provisions. read more

As another reviewer said, this Costco seems to have shorter wait-times for gas than most. The new Costco Brand grain-free kibble can be hard to find at many locations, but the Puyallup Costco carries the Salmon version of Nature's Domain. If you're feeding grain-free to your dogs, you know how much it can cost you, especially for a large-breed. While I shop at Costco for many other things, the savings on dog food alone justify the cost of membership. Saving $20 on each bag of dog food adds up rapidly. A person who used Costco for just dog food and gasoline would find themselves more than recouping the cost of membership, even if they never purchased another item; and if they were going to the Puyallup Costco, they'd almost never have a wait in line for gas, and could be sure that the Nature's Domain Salmon was in stock. read more

This Costco is always busy but clean and nice. The people that work here are always helpful and make sure you find what you need. You never know from one costco to another but they do the best they can to find you what you are looking for at any of the local cost so. But the checkers do seem to do a good job at keeping the lines moving, and their prices are pretty good, you also have to be careful when buying the produce- I have bought produce that looked good (I check them pretty good, it amazes me when people just throw their perishables in their carts without even looking at it! Anyway, the other grip I have is they got rid of their Organic Orange Juice which was REAL good, and replaced it with non-organic OJ that taste like crap (So back to buying my OJ at Freddys or Safeway or Albertsons) read more

The Old World Salami that you have now replaced it with is absolutely awful. It is so fatty that no one in my family could stomach eating it. I ended up throwing it out. Great return policy. Need to return a gift card I bought as a gift but I never found someone to give it to and didn't want it myself. I was a nutrasystem gift card and after I bought it I thought it might not be received right by the person. Forgot for over a year and they still let me return it. They are so amazing. read more

If you're reading this review I'm assuming that you understand the whole Costco is a paid membership warehouse, it gets busy and if you need help finding things it can be difficult bc there aren't sales people running around trying to make the sale... That said. the best times to go here are weekday mornings if you can swing it. Take a long lunch and go during your lunch break, order a pizza or hotdog or whatever and do your shopping then. It'll save you quite a bit of time, I always avoid this place during the weekends. I'm telling you, it's always busy. read more

Zach from the tire department was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I brought my 2019 Mercedes in for a tire change. I was concerned with them finding the jack points as I've owned many of these vehicles and am familiar with servicing them. I had found the points in the user manual, and when they proceeded to attempt to jack it incorrectly I said no, I'm not comfortable. He proceeded to say "don't tell me how to jack a car in my shop". Then I informed them I was concerned with the car being damaged, and he said "they'll fix it if they damage it". It's an expensive vehicle. I'd rather take the precautions to just not damage it in the first place. If it's too nice, new, or large of a vehicle for you to service, just admit it and I'll go elsewhere. Don't be an insecure jerk. The other guys in the shop seemed nice, but it took about twice as long as it normally should have. I'd have gone elsewhere if I didn't desperately need it done on a Sunday when all the good places were closed. read more

Costco is one of my favorite places to shop at! I can spend hours (and a lot of $$) in Costco! Anything from vegetables to paleo food products to clothes catch my attention. I'm a sucker for food vendors who convince me that my family needs to try their products. I'm at Costco at least once a week for fresh fruit and veggies and monthly for all other needs. Costco Photo Printing Dept made my 5 star rating for service and printing quality. It was busy holiday shopping at Costco, anyone familiar with Costco knows how hectic it can be. I walked up to the counter, looking a bit lost, a friendly voice asked "Can I help you?", wow, me? YES. Amelia was the voice of help, smiling, happy and handling the crowd very well. She give me suggestions on my printing options, explained how to use the machine to download my images and took my money. It was one hour later, my prints were ready and printed to my satisfaction. This is my favorite Costco to visit. They are always friendly and typically don't run out of the staple items. Today I needed to get a passport photo taken for my 2 year old. I'm finally a Costco member! My GPS was being a dummy and I got lost for 30 minutes just trying to find this place and then I got lost trying to leave! The process of getting a membership was a little hectic because at the time, their debit/cc machine was down and you could only pay cash. I had the lady call the registers to see if their machines were working and thankfully they were. Costco is seriously the best! They have everything and more. I LOVE that they have so many organic options... whether it's vegetables/fruit to general food items. They have a HUGE parking lot and no matter when you go, it's always a zoo out there. read more

It's good that we have Costco nearby (which make it a 4 star), but their stuff is getting too expensive. Expect your 10 items to be, at least, $100 and no less. With the membership fee, the cost per item should be less comparable to other retail stores. Plus ... mostly are by the bulk. Yes, it's a warehouse but we shop at Costco to get stuff cheaper and not more, so to speak, with the yearly membership. I wish they have more items to choose from that is separate like for ARTWORKS (watercolor premiums, art papers, pens...) just like in any art supplies but not by the BULK that you have to get 100 brush pens and not 10. Wish they have more variety. But other than that .... it's an ok store if you have a big family to feed, own a restaurant etc. read more

love Costco for their fantastic deals on everything I need to their neat seasonal items or limited time items like the giant stuffed bear. Parking can be a little crazy, but once inside, I remember why I love Costco as their giant isles of items greet me. Costco is the perfect place to stock up on items that you use frequently. If you've never been to a Costco, all 2 of you out there, plan ahead for storage space. With just two of us at home, we usually buy things like toilet paper, alcohol, frozen food and other useful items like garden lights and cordless phones. Great prices as long as they carry the item you need. I feel like we don't get out for any less than $10 an item. They also have great food that is ready to take home and stick in the oven, which is perfect for busy days. read more
