Everybody knows costco so its almost corny leaving any type of review. But some days are different and some Costcos to be different so here's my review of this Costco: plenty of parking easy to get in and out of the people were nice that work there the customers not quite polite. But it is Sunday and so it was a sample a bunch of garbage food a and it seems to me this group of Costco shoppers were a little larger around the center than most and so maybe the second or third time trying to get the same sample made it seem a lot more crowded than it was. All in all for a busy Sunday Seahawks game day shopping at Costco I'd say it was comfortable and easily 4 stars. read more

Nothing was more pleasing to me than to read Costco was going to allow military members to utilize their IDs to shop at their facilities while the Government decided to shut down the base commissaries. I have worst ever experienced with Costco Tire center in Puallup, WA. I got tires from Costco online, during promotions period and after 3 hours waiting, they refused to install them. Manager Ark told that I need to pay installation, even it was free or repurchase tires and pay tax. I spend 3 hours waiting, my car was already in inside shop, they took of my old tires and then telling me that I need to repurchase them and pay installation. Very good job. read more

While their store part is on pace with every other Costco, their food court really irritates me....to the point that they get dropped 2 stars. The past 3 times I have waited in a 15 minute line for a polish dog and sauerkraut I have been told they were "out of sauerkraut" so I have simply walked off without ordering (essentially wasting 15 minutes of my day multiple times). When they informed me YET AGAIN this last time they did not have any (after being ran into in line multiple times by children in front of me) I had just about had enough. When the cashier again stated they were out I asked to speak to a manager. I explain to the manager the ongoing problem and how considering THE STORE SELLS SAUERKRAUT they should NEVER be out of an item that they can literally go to the back of the store and pick up from the deli aisle. The manager apologized and asked that I wait an ADDITIONAL 5-10 minutes and he could get some. He knew they were out 5-10 minutes before my complaint as I observed multiple people were turned away when they asked for it while I was waiting in line, so NO I was NOT giving him ANOTHER 10 minutes. So management is deliberately NOT SUPPLYING condiments for their food when they know it's out. They CAN get it for you, they simply CHOOSE not to. BIG BIG fail here! I left without a polish dog....again. We have come to the realization if I want a dog I need to bring them the sauerkraut from the back of the store myself but I doubt the cashiers would appreciate that. Food court Manager needs to be retrained or replaced. ***Update*** They are keeping close to expired food on the shelves for you to purchase. I purchased a 4 pack of pomegranate arils (from their refrigerated produce area). When I got them home the "Best By" date was the following day (I got home from Costco shopping at 7 pm). I opened one, popped a handful in my mouth and they were fermented because they had not even made it TO the "best by" date. I IMMEDIATELY called the store and, while they were OK with me returning them, THESE SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE. I did open all 4 packs, and yes all 4 were bad. As these are supposed to be refrigerated I imagine sometime during transit or storage refrigeration was lost causing them to ferment at a faster rate. The fact that at 6pm I could pull from an entire FULL pallet of product (all likely with the same expiration/best by date) says they would have sold these well past their expiration/best by date without anyone knowing until they started receiving the complaints. read more

Ok so where do I begin ? I bought a tv at your puyallup location. I was told if I used your city bank visa I would get a longer warranty and a 15% discount on the tv . So I did it . Spent 1400. Guy in the tv section is one that told me about the 15% off there was a little display by the tv . I went over applied for a city bank visa and was approved. The girl that helped me there said it would come off my bill . When I got my first bill it was not off the bill . So I went to the customer service desk . They told me that I needed to contact city bank . And that the directions for getting my rebate would be in the receipt. So I went to my car my wife sent me a photo of the receipt . Nothing about a rebate . So I called city bank from my car . They said they don't do this it would be Costco . Sooooo they tried to do a conference call . But when they tried they were closed so call tomorrow. So I called today . Spent a hour of my time on the phone with city bank and they called Costco . The guy said oh it's a rebate l can do that for you . Ok great . So he starts the process. He doesn't know how to read what register I bought it from . So he transferred me to a automated machine again . Fun . Then after waiting on hold for another 10 mins the next person comes on and starts a rebate . Says your tv wasn't on this rebate on those dates ! Sorry . We can submit a request for a exception . But no promises . I am ready to return my tv ! Cancel my new credit card that dinged my credit for apparently no reason . Cancel my Costco card ! And never do business with city bank or Costco again . This is absolutely ridiculous! I am going on every site page I can think of and telling people not to fall for the promotions that they say they have ! Buyer beware!!! read more

Horrible first experience here. I came here with my boyfriend to get some groceries because we recently moved to the area. We weren't aware of the "members only" rule and we walked right in and no one said a word. We start shopping and our cart is completely full so we go to pay, the worker is about to ring us up and asks if we have a membership card. We say no and he looks at us like we're completely crazy and asked how we got in very rudely and said "well this is a membership only warehouse." After we had already unloaded our whole cart we were then forced to go sign up for membership cards, we tried to go in through the exit because it was easier to get back in line, forced to go around and go through the entrance and had to get in line and unload all of our groceries again. This is my first time here and I will not be returning. read more

Shopping at this Costco CAN be an exercise in frustration and futility. Every time I go in there I find myself saying " Where's the butter; oh, they moved it over here. Can't find the OJ; thats right, its in the next aisle over, now" I end up doing laps around the store to find what I need. I've lost count how many times I've got something that I really like in there and I go back 3 months later to get it again and they don't carry it anymore. That being said, I've got no other beefs w/this store. I start shopping hungry and end up full because of the numerous samples and the staff are reletively courteous and helpful. read more

Lets talk about gas prices. Prices at the Tacoma, Lacey, and Olympia Costco's are always less. This is curious because they are 10 miles away. There aren't a lot if factors that could contribute to this variance. You might say, OK drive there instead. But it begs the question of this whole 'membership' concept. This is not about the Costco location as a whole...but my recent experiences, both in store and online. In short don't believe the false narrative about the great return policy. If a product they sell does not last until a warranty date, you would think it could be returned. That is not the case if all included items in the package are not present. I don't understand why you should keep disposable portions of the merchandise for the expected life of the product. Then there were the valentines flowers which arrived wilting. Guess I'd have to save all the fallen petals for a return. read more

OPTICAL ONLY: I'm giving this review a 2, even though today, I want to give them a negative 10. The reason for some credit is that the optical offerings are fine--cheap, wide range of options, smiley service--UNTIL you have any kind of problem with your purchase. And then, the smiles stop, the range of options does not exist, and the cost skyrockets because you are now liable for your purchase and whatever problems the product may have. The service becomes on the Wal-Mart level of reciting policies and blaming the customer for the problem existing. In fairness, I have bought my young daughter's glasses at Costco for years, knowing that she grows out of the frames quickly and we won't need to ask for help if problems occur. We bought a pair for her at the Cascade Eye shop, and that place replaced, fixed, corrected, adjusted her glasses the whole time the warranty existed. While the cost there was more up front, the value far exceeded the cost. On the other hand, Costco offers no warranty, so when you walk out of the store with your glasses, they are your problem, as I found out today. I bought a pair of glasses for myself, experienced a problem, and was shrugged off dismissively and told that the problem was my fault. The worker explained that he had no supplies to fix what he (apparently) knew was the problem and referred me to a glasses repair shop, meaning I now need to pay to have the glasses repaired. I'm devastated that I have now spent my yearly budgeted amount for my own glasses, and I have none that will stay on my face. I will now walk around with one arm of the glasses duck taped to the frame until next year when I have another amount of money budgeted for glasses. I'm making a button to wear that says "This is what Costco glasses look like," so if you see me around, give a shout out! And don't buy your glasses at Costco unless you're interested in single-serving purchases! read more

I'm a long time customer of Costco. Known for good customer service and product quality. Never been concerned buying items you can't see or try on due to their good return policy. Bought a watch a few weeks ago which didn't keep accurate time. Brought it back not having anything but the outside box. The person at the return counter (tracinda) had a terrible attitude. "You must have the warranty card".... I pointed it out it's not stated anywhere after abut of time she let me know rudely that she was giving me a refund this time and would be "noting my account"! Niceeee, no problem I'll make sure to note their account for extremely rude service to a customer since 1992. I'll bet Jim S would be disappointed. This particular Costco can be a bit touch and go regarding customer service. read more

This is an update to my visit 2 days ago. After I had asked the gift giver to not purchase items from Costco again for me, she reached out to the Store Manager. Within a half hour the Store Manager, reached out to me on the phone. He asked what happened and how he could fix it. I explained that all I wanted to do was get different sizes and not need to re-explain the previous visit. Needless to say... he made that happen! While he wasn't in the store when I visited he had his Assistant Mark and Supervisor Jason take care of me. They apologized for the previous incident, explained to me how they'd like to make the shopping experience easier and were very expedient about the entire process. Jason was looking for me after I had found the items I was looking for and made the purchase process a breeze. Thank you for a very different experience! read more

OPTICAL ONLY! I love Costco, but the optical department stinks! I switched from Americas Best, which I thought was a bit of a 2 star place itself, however it is a 5 star compared to this place. I wasn't going to write a review but now after todays interaction, I think they deserve it. I have had optical visits for many, many years and the only time I visited this place I received pink eye in both eyes. I wasn't going to gripe even though that is gross. The lenses I received are scratched after owning for a couple months. Today I called to find out how to re-order contact lenses. The gal that answered was rude and as informative as a my dog. I told her I could order online, but I forgot the doctors name which needed to be provided online. She replied with "I don't know...there's lots of doctors here." Okay genius, maybe transfer my call or may I suggest reading the doctors name on the sign above your head. Anyways, that is just pieces of the encounters. Go somewhere else. It isn't worth the hassle of going into Costco and then being cramped into that department with poor selection and terrible customer service. read more

Recently called in to see what time the food court closed because we wanted to order a pizza. The man in the phone said they closed at six, it was 510 when I called. I told him I would call back in when I was on my way (I was waiting for my family to get home). He then basically forced me to order my pizza right then because he was going to "cut off orders soon" I understand there's a timing to these things but I wasn't even close to getting on the road and I normally order pizza ten minutes before I pick up and it's never been an issue. We picked up the pizza right before they closed and took it home to eat. Come to find out our pepperoni pizza was in fact a cheese. It wouldn't even bother me that much if the guy wasn't so damn pushy and rude. read more

Just recently became a Costco member and I'm really happy with the Puyallup location. The staff are all very nice. The store is clean and organized. We normally go during the week because the weekends are just too crazy but that's any Costco. I have been to quite a few Costco's in my day and this is one of the nicer ones. read more

As far as Costco's go this one is a gem. They always keep the interior squeaky-clean and the samples are plenty and always available. If you need cheap gas in town they have gasoline here for about 20 cents cheaper than anywhere else on the hill. Of course you have to be a member in order to enjoy that perk. The Puyallup Costco is the least busiest one you will find! Its clean and only a few years old. It does have gasoline and with the member discount is considerably cheater then just any gas station. Like any Costco they move inventory fast if you see something you want buy then and do not wait! read more

This is a standard Costco where you can get 38 bars of soap and 50lbs of potatoes, however, what sets this location apart from others is their gas station which can can result in substantial savings over regular gas stations. The lines at this location seem to move faster than other Costco locations, they typically are fully staffed and have enough lanes opened for the after work and weekend rushes. The store is clean and they always have their tempting samples out. read more

Parking always bad and setup is horrible (especially with people speeding in and out of the gas station). Come in and show your card to get a nod from the person-counter and never seems friendly (no matter who it is). Always packed and they decide to put vendors in the main aisles used for walking. People stop with their giant carts to see a flashlight or hear about Comcast. Lines are always long and aisles block where you can get into a line so you're stuck with two long lines down the main aisle (unless you want to weave through snack pallets). Cashier never say hi, just scan your stuff and tells you your total. Food court lines are too long and too many carts, from people getting food, block the walkway to leave the store. They have two people checking receipts and those two, no matter who, are always friendly when you're leaving. read more

They lack any empathy for a member that has been with them since 1997. My husband wanted to exchange his phone we had just bought a week ago after an unavoidable accident today at work which cracked his screen. This man never has cracked phone screens his note 5 which we traded in had zero scuffs or scratches and the manager receited policy rather than show human empathy or consideration today. I asked they make an exception on this one given how much I've spent over the past 21 yrs with their organization. But nothing zip zero zilch nada from this manager. He could have cared less treated us like we were kids breaking things not hard working middle age adults that just put out $1100 on this phone and don't have an additional $200 for insurance. Top it off this is my husband's actual birthday, today.This was my gift to him thanks Costco super memorable bday nice to know where 21 yrs of loyalty gets ya here! read more
