I bought 4 new tires and made an appointment to have them installed. My appointment was at 330pm. I arrived and he took my keys at 315pm. I asked how long would it be and was told 'we'll have you out of here in an hour, hour and a half". At 5:05 pm I asked how much longer will it be. I was told 10-15 minutes. At 550pm they completed my installation. When I complained about the length of wait and communication, I was told "What do you want me to do about it?". So rude. Never an explanation as to why a 30-40 minute job would take 1.5 hours, let alone 2.5 hours. I used to have my tires rotated there and it was the same thing. Appointment or no appointment, always there a minimum of 2 hours. It's always a very long wait. When I said that he said, "I concur", that was it. I said why should I make an appointment, and he just shrugged. The only reason I gave this place a star at all is because the tire price was good. Service is atrocious. Service techs could care less about the customer and have no problem telling you a wait time they know very well they are not going to meet. D'aaawwww! It's a baby Costco. I mean, it's still enormous, but as far as Costcos go, this one's a bit smaller and a bit more box-y than others... yet, they have like twice the amount of parking as larger stores. Which is nice because from just my first few experiences here I'd estimate that more/less stressful parking cuts down on the number of downright crazy people in Costco by about 35%. The set-up is different from the majority of Costcos I've visited before, probably because it has a bit less square footage, but they still have most of the selection you'll find at other locations with this store utilizing more of their vertical space. The aisles are shorter than normal and so are many of the customer's attention span. I've had to utilize the service counter on several occasions for membership renewal questions and I've heard some craaazy things asked by other patrons here. Like people demanding to be shown proof that they carry pre-made guacamole containers before they walk all the way to the back of the store and aren't able to find them themselves. True story. If joining, do yourself a favor and avoid going on the weekends or after work/happy hour hours. Weekdays during the day or within an hour before closing and you'll find you have the store virtually all to yourself. read more

This would be a five star location if the employees were more friendly. The location is always clean and stocked and the meat section is always well displayed and looks fresh. When I've needed to use the customer service desk they seem very robotic and rarely smile as I see at most other Costco locations. The cashiers aren't much better and don't like to engage in conversation or make much eye contact. If you're the type of person that wants to get in and out and not talk to anyone then this is the spot for you. If you like interpersonal contact and want to feel appreciated then possibly the Oak Brook, North Riverside, or Bedford Park locations would be a better stop. read more

I love having a Costco nearby us. Sunday visits at Costo is almost becoming a tradition with our family. We stop by to get gas which is always cheaper than the the prices out on the streets. Why wouldn't you get gas here if you already paid for it in your membership price? And you know what else? Even if you buy nothing, (which to many of the cashier's surprise, I have done that--I can exert a lot of self-control when shopping), or if you are like me and only buy a handful of bananas, Costco still makes for a good walk. It is the new mall-walk. Okay, I am bragging a little because my Costco is so close by, I sometimes treat it like it's a Walgreens, going in and out for only the essentials. But for others who live quite a distance away, you do want to come here and get everything you need in one stop shop. Beware though, the dollars add up at check-out! Now besides your groceries and deals on home goods, I want to bring to attention the many other benefits of Costco that we don't always think about. For example, really cheap eye exams and low prices on contact lenses and eyeglasses. Oh, their photo center has many selections and you can even order your wedding invites to be shipped over through their vendor partner (Wedding Paper Divas). Not to mention, my husband and I booked our honeymoon through Costco Travel and saved a lot of on our Hawaiian cruise. I definitely researched Costco a great deal when I planned our wedding last year. Great discounts here! Other things that are awesome: the tire services. Buy their tires and you get free air fill-up, tire rotations, etc. Costo is really great for many things besides just getting your toiletries and foods, ladies and gentlemen. Check it out! I've been in many warehouse stores and this Costco is by far the best I've seen. Although quite massive, the store is set up so that you are not overwhelmed with everything for sale. I only go to Costco for the following staple items (for the deal and the taste): 1. Their Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a steal and quite delicious. 2. Frozen Tilapia is the best I have had (fresh or frozen) 3. All of their meats are fresh 4. They have a good selection of wine and cheese 5. Bakery items change 6. They have a wide selection of fruits and veggies Some things are much cheaper other places than here (clothes, paper towel, etc). Plus, they may not have your brand of soap or deodorant you use. Just shop around for the best prices. But, I can guarantee you can't find these quality staple items for cheaper anywhere else. read more

After we got our card and were done shopping, the workers who checked us out were excellent! They were all smiling and cracked jokes while we checked out. They also have a ton of parking!! Let me say, it's a Costco, like every other Costco I have been to over the years. So that being said what make this place and visit different I got yelled at by a Costco worker bee. So I complain about three things that happened. 1) Being yelled at. I was on my cell phone checking my shopping list when the worker bee was pushing a flat bed truck around the corner and almost hit me. At that the point she decided to tell me that being on a cell phone in the store was dangerous. Well you are the pushing the flat bed around, you should be the one watching out not to run into customers. Also weren't you the same employee who was trying to move a mountain of poorly stacked empty boxes, that when you moved the truck they all fell backwards? What would have happened if someone was standing behind the truck when the boxes fell? Dangerous isn't it. 2) Something I learned years ago as a teenager working in a grocery store, you do not put smelly soap or chemicals next to food products in a cart. I know speed of getting you out of the check out line is a goal, but having soap smelling cheese is not mine. 3) Turn the radios, the constant full volume of the radios at the check out lanes is annoying. I love shopping at costco. Returns are. Made so easy. I enjoy getting free samples of the food they sale so is not like you buy something and it will be a surprise. This is an excellent technique because I hate buying something coming home and I did nit like it and it was a waste of my money. Sampleing food before you buy it is a bright idea. I do but my electrical fans, tvs, heaters, sweet wine. I love buying very economical out fits for my grandaugter and her pj's. I love this store for the good service and specially evrything is in place. The restaurnt for your snack is so cheap . a hugh hot dog and drink for 1.50 a churro a dollar sweet. Our family has come to depend on Costco for many of our grocery & household necessities. We were over the moon when the Bolingbrook location opened, as it is the most convenient for us to access in our daily commute. Through our last 10 or so years of membership and having visited multiple stores in the area, we've come to find that not every location stocks the same inventory. Bolingbrook is most similar to Oak Brook in that they have expansive organic offerings, which is important to our family. Maybe it's the recent opening, or the days/times we happen to visit, or perhaps the slightly different layout of the floor plan, but this location seems less crowded than others. Thumbs up for that - Momma hates people invading her personal space! One star detracted for the creepy gas pump attendants - several old dudes who force awkward conversation on you. I'm down with a 'hello' and some idle conversation about the weather, but during my last fill-up I had a guy tell me I looked like a woman who enjoyed tilapia...uh, WHAT? I finally took a personal stand, and vowed never again to feed the Walton machine. I haven't stepped foot in a Wal Mart in well over two years, and with three months of my Sam's Club membership remaining, I cut up my card and made the switch to Costco. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made, next to breaking up with the guy with the serious vampire role play fetish when I was in college. Costco is much more household consumer oriented. Goods are sold in bulk packages that are built to easily come apart to be broken down, Their house brand, Kirkland, can be found everywhere, from beer and vodka, to pudding, lunch meat, cleaning supplies, and even boxer shorts, if you are so inclined. I have yet to come across a non-stellar Kirkland product. What I really like is the wide variety of organic products available here. The portioned chicken breasts, ground beef are great, each pack enough for two, and the rest can easily be frozen. Besides food, they have great deals on other products as well. Televisions, computers, office supplies, a vision care center, pharmacy, home improvement specials, health insurance, and plenty of other things you never thought a warehouse club would offer. I have yet to encounter anything but phenomenal customer service. From the guy who patiently explained the different membership options (go for the Executive Membership-in essence, it pays for itself), to the amazingly efficient checkout staff, service has been nothing but stellar! Finally had a chance to check out the new Costco. The employees were friendly, but a couple of things drove me nuts. For one, the gift cards (for movies, restaurants, etc) are almost always located opposite the checkout area in very visible location. In Bolingbrook, they are hidden behind the clothing in a hard-to-find spot. Secondly, I was there Saturday afternoon and almost all of the samples had meat. Even the soup sample. When I asked the demo lady if the Kirkland's tomato basil soup had any meat stock, she said "no, only a cream base." Of course, I know to always double check, and sure enough the second ingredient listed was chicken stock. This is not acceptible in my book. If you are unfamiliar with the samples you are handing out, you have to realize some people are allergic or have food sensitvities. You should never GUESS the ingredients! read more

Another awesome Costco. Most costco's are the same, but what I like to truly evaluate is the friendliness of the sample people.....These guys were awesome. They gave out plenty of samples and when they ran out, they gave you a countdown of when to come back. They gave away stuff like they meant it.....Not the stingy sample people you run into at other locations...You could seriously have a full meal by just walking around. The other thing I liked about this location is the availability of the cashiers. As soon as they noticed that there were more than two people in each line, they opened another one and each register had two employees to expedite things. Very efficient. read more

I am a huge costco fan. I'm currently rocking a flattering and comfortable pair of skinny jeans I snagged for $18, which I purchased after enjoying a $5 chicken salad from the food court. My favorite Costco products are the natural peanut butter, the Kirkland detergent and the socks. They also have great prices on flatout wraps and sandwich skinnys, along with hummus. The hummus is to die for! The organic produce prices are also great, and I always have a package of salmon burgers in the freezer. read more

I've been to a number of Costco's and this one is probably my favorite. The store is always well stocked, clean, the aisles are wide, and on the weekends, the samples are plenty. I've also found the employees very friendly, and the lines move as a quicker pace. If you've been to one Costco, you've been to them all. The corporate strategy is great, so you're going to find great people and prices no matter what store you go to. It costs minimum $55/year to shop here (yearly membership), and if you have a big family, it's totally worth it. Everything here is in bulk, so it's hard to compare prices until you break it down to the price per ounce or item. On the left side of the store they have a place for glasses, electronics, pots, mattresses, and stuff for kitchen/bathrooms. On the right side they have a great pharmacy, lots of non-perishable food and lots of rows of frozen foods. In the middle of the store is where you can find "everything else." There is a clothes area that changes frequently. You'll always find stuff like socks, but on any given day there could be jackets, shirts, jeans, etc. There is also the big stuff in the middle like exercise equipment, grills, etc. In the back there are coolers for fruit, milk, etc. There is a bakery where you can get bread, cake, croissants, etc. Then there is a deli/ meat area where you can get lots of precooked meals and different bulk packages of meat. They have a small section of USDA Prime meat too! They also sell liquor. Don't forget that they sell gift cards for lots of places at a discount. For example you can get a $100 gift card for lots of places like Labriola for $75. read more

Unfortunately this Costco suffers from it's Bolingbrook location. Apologies to folks in the area, but Bolingbrook crowds are difficult to handle. Best to avoid the area altogether. Love Costco, hate this tire center. I had two problems: 1. The tires I wanted were on sale but they did not have them and could not order them from their distributor. After lengthy discussion with "Allen" we agreed I would call him every week or so until the tires I wanted were not on sale to see if he could order them. In the meantime, I called the Oakbrook Costco tire center to see if they had them and they said I could order them online myself- and they would be cheaper. I did that and got the tires. Why in the world did Allen not just tell me that? 2. When I picked up my car after they put the tires on, "Josh" never told me I can/should come back for tire rotation, how often, and that the service was included with my tires and or anything else. These guys saved the day after a disappointing experience at NTB in New Lenox. Costco Tire Center did a PHENOMENAL job of mounting the new tire that I brought with me to replace a damaged one. Even though it took a bit more time, they switched it with a rear tire since they said the new tire should start out on the back. They also cleaned the rust off the hubs, inflated and balanced the tire and were done in under 30 minutes! They did it for just $15 and WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT!!!! Walk-ins are encouraged! I brought my car in around 1:30 with a flat tire. It is now about 30 minutes after the hour of 3 in the car hasn't moved from where I left it! There are two bays open. Next time, I will buy my tires from a real tire store! I do not recommend Costco, in Bolingbrook, for tires. Customer service is not a high-priority. It's Costco so there isn't much to say. They always have lines at checkout and on Saturday I was reminded of why I don't come here on the weekends, but all that is to be expected. It's still a great store. But what's super cool is they have giant bottles of Chulula hot sauce. That stuff is the best! I love this Costco! Everyone is extremely helpful. If they're out of a product, they will look up when the next shipment will arrive. The cashiers are top notch....you may ask why does that matter? A friend of mine bought 6 towels that were on sale. While being checked out, one towel rang up at 12.99. The cashier Ciara mentioned it to my friend and said "did you intend to buy this, if not I can have someone run & grab another of the other sale towels for you". She was so happy A) that it was caught before she checked out B) she didn't have to make a trip back to return it with her 2 kids in tow C) that someone ran and got the correct towel. I have been a costco member for 9 months. I have passed on buying there prime ribeye windmill steaks because of the price. Because of the labor day weekend I decided to purchase these steaks. No matter when I come here this place is busy. There seems to be no flow pattern creating a congestion of carts and people in every aisle. This issue is amplified when the snacks are being handed out. I come here for the convenience of buying certain items in bulk at a lower cost than the grocery store and of course the cheaper gas. There always seem to be not enough registers open creating a back up in the last aisle. I understand the need for the wider carts, but the aisles need to be wider as well to accommodate. After doing some comparison of a few items between Costco and the grocery store (because I like to save money), I have noticed some items are not cheaper. I made the mistake of going on a Sunday and the parking lot was a mess, lines were long and the store was chaotic.
