I just picked up dinner for me & my girlfriend. My chicken fried steak was awesome even after bringing it home and heating it up in the microwave! I spoke to a manager over the phone after multiple messed up take out orders and she was very apologetic and offered us two free meals on our next visit. We went in on a Sunday lunch because my husband wanted to try their Sunday turkey and dressing special. They didn't have it ready so he went with chicken and dressing instead. They also didn't have rolls ready despite us being one of the first tables there. The waitress (sweet but seemed inexperienced) promised us fresh rolls every few minutes but could never get to them before the new batches were taken to other tables, though none of the tables around us ever got any. Our food arrived and his plate was correct but poorly executed. The vegetables were hard and I tried his dressing and it was sweet enough I would have thought it was bread pudding. The gravy was flavorless. My pasta was missing it's chicken (and was bland) and my okra under cooked. They brought the chicken out (actually a whole new pasta) but by that time I had finished eating and it wasn't good enough to bother taking home. The tables around us all had incorrect or missing orders as well. The waitstaff was overheard to be talking about their teenage drama in the dinning room. Had a little wait but staff was very informative as to making sure we were not just over-looked. Server Gaby went above and beyond making sure drinks stayed filled and we were taking care of!! She is absolutely an asset to this location and we were flabbergasted to find out she was still in high school when she seemed more mature than most adults. We are huge Cotton Patch fans and our entire family has gone to the Cleburne location for many years. On our recent experience, I over heard our waitress Allyson M. making fun of my gay son, and laughing with another waitress calling him horrific slurs. Several members of our family overheard the rhetoric and were appaled. I have called corporate to let them know our entire family won't be back. Not a big fan of Cotton Patch, in an effort to appease my husband , decided to place an order. We placed the order through Uber Eats , what a mistake this was. Food arrived stone cold. Cheese sticks were like rubber. Pot roast was all potatoes and NO MEAT. Skillet corn bread looked as if it was dropped on the floor and chopped up, then placed in a to-go container. Salad was upside down and leaking through the container. Will not be giving Cotton Patch a third chance. Fool me once, same on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me for the third time , dang I am just stupid. I want my $50 dollars of wasted money back. Cotton Patch needs a Quality Control person for to-go orders, especially during a pandemic. I always love Cotton Patch. They have the best special cornbread, pot roast, meat loaf and chicken fried chicken! I LOVE their broccoli and my husband likes their black eyed peas. Their steaks aren't bad either. Sometimes when I don't feel like cooking, we get take out and split the meal. Since you get two sides, my husband picks one and I pick one and we eat it at home. No flavor. I was with a party of 3: Meatloaf? No, that is NOT meatloaf. That is bland hamburger meat with stewed tomatoes on top. No flavor! And, who calls that meatloaf? Chicken and Dumplings? No! Just, NO! Flavorless chicken water with dough pieces. Chicken Fried Steak? OK, well, I suppose. BUT, FLAVOR THE GRAVY AND THE BREADING!!! If you get the urge to eat here, don't. Simply take two twenty dollar bills, shred them up with scissors, and flush the shredded pieces down the toilet. Then go someplace else. I still tipped my waiter. He didn't cook the food. It was my first visit to a Cotton Patch. The main food items were good (fried catfish and chicken fried steak) but it was over priced for the quantity and quality. Meals state 2 sides, however if you want a baked potato or a salad it's an Additional $2.99 as they are considered "premium" sides. We both still ordered the baked potato as it our "premium" choice of side but we could not eat them. They were very small, not cooked well and dry. Overall, for cleanliness, speed of service and very friendly staff I enjoyed my visit. As far as the food; it was pretty good. We didn't have to wait very long (lunchtime on a Friday.) The strawberry shortcake was huge, exceptionally delicious and was very reasonably priced. read more

Definitely not as good as it used to be. The service was terrible our waitress brought us bread that could break a window if you threw it. There was a hair on my husbands steak so I had to eat without him while they made a new one, we had to take it to go because it took too long to come out and they didn't even take the steak off. Use to go to cotton patch quite often. Went last night and got the grilled cajun duo. Smallest fish fillet I have ever seen. Literally 3 inches by 2 inches, no exaggeration. Server said they have had lots of complaints about it, manager didn't seem too surprised. Manager did offer to make something else, but I did NOT want anything else. Sides were fine, the two bites of fish I got tasted fine. Did NOT offer to adjust the bill. Definitely NOT worth the 17 bucks charged. They have lost me as a customer. read more

Only the convenience and good food keep me returning. If management could get better waiting staff, this place would be top notch and worthy of 5 stars. Love the food here except since the recent remodel I don't like the way I'm treated. Often I dine alone. When I tell them that, they say, booth or table? I say booth. The first time the girl said it would have to be a table. Then says she has a table that's half booth/half table. I felt like I was put in "time out". There were empty booths everywhere. Today I come in, same girl, Kori, same scenario. She took me to same 1/2 booth seat, asks, "Is this ok?" I frowned but she left me there anyway. I won't be back until I can get someone to go with me. Ridiculous Wait Time A party of five plus two children checked in at 1:20 Sundayand was toldten minute wait. There was one party ahead of us in similar size. They called them back after about ten minutes. We were not seated until 2:52 pm. One hour and thirty two minutes later. We were the only ones waiting. We checked about every ten to fifteen minutes and were told it would be about ten more minutes every time. Finally at 2:40 I asked to speak to the manager. He asked if I could give him seven minutes. I replied I could since I had already given him this much time. We were seated and suddenly were told they had no silverware! Have you ever cut a steak or pork chops with plastic cutlery. No real apologies and a $78.00 ticket was comped $5.00. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE INSULT !!!!. We tipped generously because the server was not at fault. One of my absolute favorite places to eat!! I'm obsessed with the fried green tomatoes, which comes with a yummy avocado ranch. I love how reliable the food is and home homey the atmosphere is. I usually bounce back and forth between the baja tacos and the chicken fried chicken, but I love their soups for lunch and their salads are big enough for two meals! Great family place to take the kids. Over the past 10 years we have gone countless time and always had a good experience. My favorite dish is the steak and Cajun grilled shrimp. They over cook the steak 100% of the time so order it med-rare if you want it med and so on.
