I never really leave reviews but I went in the first time and was told the frozen hot chocolates…read moreare the same size (since small and large are listed). Great service and I had it there. The next time I went in another lady told me there was a size difference in the small and large, figuring it was different for takeout and so I ordered those to go. They were both the same size and a $4 difference. Not sure why she would hand me my two drinks and feel the need to point out which one is large and which is small when they're the same size. I feel if you have to point out the size difference there is no difference.

They don't care who you are, where you're from, what you drink as long as you love it. What?…read more Ok but really, it doesn't matter what time of day it is, if Kiki's is open you owe it to yourself to drop in. The friendly and spunky staff here is ready to serve up good conversation, good coffee, good food, and good alcoholic beverages - and they do a darn good job of it, too. Sit on their patio and enjoy the passersby, or post up inside and ask for a "squatter's cup" (don't ask for this I made it up) to enjoy their drip coffee and free refills while you get some work done. Or just chill and enjoy the music! I haven't eaten anything here yet, but the if the smells are any indication the food is awesome. Oh! And it's dog friendly (and across the street from Maverick Dog Park)! So bring your pup (but keep them on a leash).

What a great spot to come to when having a lazy day and catch up on some reading. The artwork here…read moredefinitely caught my eye. I sat near the wall with old artwork that has been changed to go along with the CBD type drinks they sell. I laughed at the "We can do it" painting changed to "We can Dab it!" , as well as the traditional "Have a coke" pic changed to "Have a toke." Very clever. The lady at the register wasn't super friendly. I wouldn't say mean just indifferent or possibly sleepy. I ended up with a chagaccino (love the benefits of wild foraged chaga) and some added CBD. The drink was a bit pricey. But to be expected when doing healthier type drinks. They have several enhancers like CBD, delta, kava, Kratom, or mushrooms for an extra charge. I liked the chill vibe and couch area in the back. Parking here is very rough. Infact, this is my third try since there was no parking the first two times I tried, and I didn't feel comfortable parking infornt of houses nearby. Third time's a charm. They were playing some great 90s to early 2000s jams. Some Eminem, Backstreet, and some Britney b@#$%! This is one of those spots I will have to come to early on my days off. Overall, pretty decent atmosphere and drinks with room for some growth.

Got recommended this place after hubby went with his co workers…read more For Memorial Day close would be 3 pm CST. When you walk in you have the option to do a to go order on the kiosk or stand in line to order in/to go. While in line you are in line where they hold their bakery items, smart business move as it definitely enticed me to order some baked goods! We got 2 kouign amann, one cheesecake and one strawberry. Both were so good and not overly sweet. I'll definitely get it again and try other options they have. The food is really good and tasty! I got the torta Chicken milanesa with fideo soup and hubby got the half/half salad chicken milanesa. Service was great despite it being so busy. We didn't have to wait too long for our food to get to our table which is awesome considering. The overall feel of the place is social and well spaced. Definitely will be coming back!

The food was absolutely fantastic, but you could tell they were absolutely swamped with the crowd…read moreand weren't handling it the best. I don't think it's the staff's fault, more a shortcoming of the kitchen setup, but it still caused a pretty significant wait. We tried to go on a Saturday morning, not realizing how popular it was, and it was a total no-go. So we ordered ahead for Sunday morning, planning to just pick up and bring food back to the house. The food was ready when we arrived, but the coffee wasn't (I don't think they have a fridge or warmer to keep drinks at the right temperature, so they don't make them until you come in to pick up.) We had to remind them that we'd ordered drinks and we ended up waiting another 20-30 minutes, our food in hand, while we waited on 3 iced coffee orders. I think the issue was a mix of crowds and kitchen layout. They were very clearly trying to make sure that the people who were seated in the restaurant were being served as well, but all of the drink orders were going through this one, tiny coffee station that frankly couldn't keep up. And I think our drink orders were basically added at the end of the drink queue when we arrived to pick up our order. We didn't get any sort of priority because we'd technically ordered ahead. We essentially skipped the line, but not the queue on drinks. All in all, I'd definitely want to visit again. The food and drinks WERE really great. I had the avocado toast with chicken and for a seemingly simple dish it was absolutely phenomenal. The abuelita's was the best of the 3 iced coffee offerings we tried, and I would definitely order again. But we'll definitely have to plan/strategize around crowds and be prepared for a long wait even if we order ahead.

I visited twice and the foam on my latte and chai were perfectly smooth. I loved that Vela offers Turkish coffee in addition to the typical fare, so fun to try yet another unique coffee brewing method. Also distinctive was the offering of house made syrups and alt-milks. I'd recommend Vela to anyone visiting the San Antonio area who loves good, quality coffee.

Think - doctor's office, but a smidge more botanical. Also you'd think you were in Austin in 2016 with how many male patrons had fully grown out beards. Anyhoo, I ordered a cortado, latte with brown sugar syrup, and a vegetarian quiche. Scratch Kitchen gets around, don't they? Not that I'm complaining. They make the best quiche in town and this one was no exception. The cortado looked nice and creamy, devoid of yeasty looking foamy bubbles. The 1st sip was very pleasant. Light, toasty flavor and good crema. It didn't feel watery/watered down. The brown sugar latte was a delight. It may have been my imagination but I thought I tasted rum. It was definitely my imagination. But it was the perfect sipping beverage for the kind of day. Cold, but sunny. This was THE drink to warm you right up. The folks running this place are very nice, and there are quite a few of them flitting to and fro, so you won't be waiting too long for your order. While I wouldn't go out of my way to drive from my home to this spot, if I ever find myself in this neck of the woods, I know Vela's a solid pick.
