First when I walked in to order I asked about a menu item I didn't see. instead of being told they no longer sell it I got a quick "no" and no explanation. I ordered a few different items like fajitas (only wanted a side of lettuce), potato skins, brussuel sprouts (asked for the glazed on the side,), pecan salad. It was a 30 minute wait with the restaurant was very slow. i checked my order before I left and the sprouts had the glaze on them. I didn't say anything since I didn't want to wait for them to be remade. No mention that it was accidentally put on and if that was okay. When I got home the fajitas exploded all over my counter spilling out of bag. There was half a handful of lettuce for all the fajitas and the onions were par cooked. This will be my last time going here, it has changed since the new owner ship and not what I expected anymore. And they took off the parm crusted chikecn (Alfredo with chicken pepper and covered with cheese) and the onion loaf which were the best parts of the restaurant. read more

We were always please when we ordered the chicken or beef fajita salad. However recently we have noticed that the salad has gotten smaller and less chicken and beef has been added to salad notwithstanding the fact that the price has increased from $16 to $26. Brand: 4/5 I appreciate the awareness of Irish heritage within this establishment. I do believe I remember passing through years ago and the old symbols being the American and Irish flags, which I definitely missed. The official slogan is: Where There's Good Food, Good Friends & Good Times. I have a problem with the repetitiveness of the word "good," since it would take longer for any newcomer to read it compared to a shorter slogan. Inside, you will find a central bar with booths surrounding it, with many neon signs of shamrocks, along with many televisions. Website: 5/5 It looks well-updated, with the functional pages leading you to the menu and the location. It also has that solid green color with the specific Hibernian shade as the color scheme, which fits the site. Wait Time: 5/5 I did not experience any interruptions. Ambiance: 5/5 The establishment did start to get noisy as the day got longer, but it mostly came from the bar section, whereas I ate at the booths. The bar and the booths had a good amount of space apart. The classic rock played smoothly over the radio, while the televisions did not have an intrusive volume. Food: 4/5 Even though it is a bar and grill, I decided to order a non-alcoholic course. So, I ordered the Irish Nachos, which consists of waffle fries, pepper-jack cheese, green onions, bacon bits, and sides of sour cream. I did think that the pepper-jack cheese had a liquid texture. The green onions complement the cheese in giving the dish its sharp taste. They had the appropriate amount of heat and the fries held their forms, whether with the cheese or immersed in sour cream. The contrast of the cool sour cream and the hot cheese definitely complemented well with each waffle fry. Service: 5/5 I confess that I did awkwardly enter into the establishment due to my nervousness. However, I was accommodated well despite my poor first impressions. Worth The Money?: 4/5 I will say that this dish has a great place here, for the Irish Nachos did not cynically appropriate Irish or Mexican cuisine, rather offers a hybridized dish with a unique twist. Though, if Irish heritage is to become a central aesthetic to this establishment, then I would like to see words and phrases in Irish Gaelic in either the marketing or the menu. The business would benefit to have the Irish diaspora relearn their mother-tongue, since it is an endangered language in the Republic of Ireland. Maybe "Spinach and Artichoke Dip" could have a Irish Gaelic translation just below in shorter font called "Taos Spionáiste agus Bliosán." A good slogan has short syntax, meaning that it has the ability to encapsulate a wondrous experience within a few marketable words. The slogan at the end of the menu fitted the bar and grill better which is: Your Seat's Always Waiting. It also would have helped the website to include a brief historical backstory of Mulligan's Bar and Grill. Other than that, the website does have a good feel of the establishment before you even enter inside. The waitress did remark how the booth section did not have enough heat, though I did not notice. Nevertheless, it definitely shows how the staff care about the establishment. The service that I got matched the quality of the Irish Nachos, and the food's preparation matched the time it took to wait. Eating during that time matched the ambiance slightly, with no problems with it, nor the wait time it took to make them. While I cannot say I would return since I never drink in a public place, I would say that the price was definitely worth it. Rating: 5/5 Stars I appreciate the experience of returning to my ancestral roots with every bite of Irish Nachos. As such, the Original Mulligan's Bar and Grill deserves a good "Sláinte!" from me. At one point I'd have given it rave reviews but new ownership, new budget, no regard for quality or the taste of ppl who want a good meal. I'm sure they'll retain the blue collar bar flies and the seasonal folk looking for a 19th hole but the food has taken a horrible nose dive since it changed hands. Let's remove the pic with the crinkle cut fries bc now the fries have never been part of any potato I know, and every ingredient in the Cuban panini is so cheap sub quality I wouldn't feed it to my dog. Even the plates got smaller. Wtf meat has changed, service is slow (kitchen, not waitresses) and the terrific sausage they used to serve is gone. Or maybe they lost their chef? First thing I saw walking in was a cockroach on the counter, not a good start. Prices are higher than before and the new menu changes aren't for the better. The shepherd's pie came out greasy and way more expensive than it used to be. Overall I didn't enjoy the food at all. The staff are friendly and welcoming, but you can see a lot of changes in the kitchen staff and changes in food and the overall environment don't recommend unless coming in for a drink. read more

This place is great. Food is always on point and it's affordable. Great burgers and dinners. New owners are doing a great job. It's still way too bright inside for a bar restaurant. That was always a problem before and the new owners have kept it too bright inside. It would feel way better if they dimmed the lights a bit, especially around the bar. It's not an operating room. Great crusty roll, very generous portions of meat and fries I only ate half of the sandwich and a small amount of fries as the portions were hearty. My craving was pleasantly satisfied. My friend had a cheeseburger that was juicy and fresh. She also took a lot of her meal to go. Staff, servers, and bartenders were all friendly, accommodating and helpful Fun and upbeat atmosphere and if you're local you'll definitely see somebody you know in here. Nice size restaurant with a huge bar. Service was good and food was tasty. My only disappointment was warm fries. Hot fries are a must for me and most of the restaurants I've been to are the same. Guess I should get used to it or order a different side. I had a roast beef pannini with carmalized onions,, mushrooms, cheese and horseradish. Delicious! My daughter had a fried chicken taco bowl salad which she enjoyed but couldn't finish it. Good size salad. My son in law had the cheesesteak sub and he couldn't finish it either. Lol. Came here after a round of golf nearby. Ordered a Reuben sandwich and a beer. Didn't seem necessarily busy but waited easily 20 minutes and nothing....server came over and said food would be right out. I set a phone timer for 10 minutes and still no food. LOVE this place! Yes, yes, I 100% recommended this place for food & drinks. The food is amazing & the staff is equally as amazing & the sweetest people you could meet. My family and I come here anytime there is a game or event at the nearby high school and it's a great place for families & large or small groups. So far everything we've eaten here is great. My personal favorite is The French Dip sandwich. We love the wings, tenders, fresh onion soup & my newest favorite the Horseradish & Beef Soup. On this night we sat at the bar just me & my husband for the first time since Covid shut everything down (so over 2 years). It felt so nice to sit at the bar, have drinks, eat & meet new people. I have been by this place many times and stopped in here about six years ago before my yelping days. Upon arriving I did not recognize the place at all. Like most places in Howell, it's not gourmet but the food is decent. Dress is very casual. This is not a hipster place hangout. But it's friendly and "down-home". Sarah, a veteran server, was super. Walking in, we got a smell of seafood and it smelled really good. Once in, we weren't sure if we went in the right door as we just stood there and had to wonder if we sit ourselves. A hostess came over and had us wait until someone left their table, even though there were other empty tables around. It was only a few minutes though so it wasn't a big deal. The server wasn't very attentive to us. Took a few minutes to get her to come and take drink orders. And then again to place food orders. The food came out quick. My daughter liked her panini, but did say she wished it could have used some extra marinara sauce and her fries lacked seasoning. My wings had flavor, but a little over cooked on the outside. They were big and filling though. The crab dip was very good. And a lot of chips to go with it. After we finished eating, it took over 10 minutes for the waitress to come back and we asked for containers. In my mind, when you ask for containers, it shows you are done eating, and I assumed we would get the check. We did not. We sat another 5-7 minutes as I watched her bring drinks to tables around us then stand at the hostess area talking. I had to get someone else to tell her we wanted our check. It was a little aggravating. Over all, food was average and the server was a little below average. Place looks like it gets a nice crowd. We like ordering local because supporting businesses during this time is paramount. We don't know who'll be around after it's all said and done. I ordered a cheese burger club sandwich on rye toast. This will no longer be my place to eat or drink after 25 years of being my favorite family place , they not only embarrassed me and made me and my family uncomfortable and didn't even wait on me or my cousin that just lost his wife till every one was done eating' No manager was there' I just left and got a sub on the way home ' I asked for them to give my cousin a sandwich to go !
