I classified this place as a convenience store as it has a mini selection of gums, candies, candy bars, and mints, a very small selection of soda and waters, and is simply a convenience for those trapped in the court rooms and jury rooms who are short on time. It there and It is not much

It just so happens that my brother in law told me to stop in San Luis Obispo during my pacific coast highway roadtrip, told me it was a really cute area he thought I would love. Little did he know at the time, there is a coffee shop, the BEST coffee shop in San Luis Obispo that's called Scout coffee and Scout is the name of my brother in law's daughter AKA my niece so this was fate. Fate I tell you. I came here later in the day on Saturday right before closing, the shop is just adorable, really sweet tables outside on the street and some seating inside as well. They had some delicious looking pastries in the window and they had merch. Yes I came for the coffee, sure but I came for the Scout merch for my niece when she grows up and wants to drink coffee out of a mug and thinks it's just the coolest thing that her Aunt went to California for the sole purpose of buying her this mug, or something like that. They had mugs alright, $18 a pop. They had some t-shirts too that were PRICEY and sweatshirts that were even pricier. It was a bummer because they didn't have a lot of size options and when I asked the staff if they had more in the back they were not the friendliest bunch. Anyways, got two Scout coffee mugs and a Scout coffee travel sticker and of course a coffee. It was late so I had a decaf americano and went on my way. I came back the next morning for a regular drip coffee and the place was busy! This time, the guy helping me behind the counter was an absolute sweetheart. We made some small talk and it put a better taste in my mouth from my experience with the staff the day before. They don't use sleeves here and I LOVE THAT. I hate sleeves on coffee cups I really and truly do. They tied a napkin around instead and I've never seen that before. The coffee was delish, love the name of the shop, love the merchandise.

Learned that they offer milkshakes as their frozen drinks so ordered a coffee flavor with no whip cream. It was $8 for a regular size so a bit pricey for sure. It was good, creamy, cold and I always appreciate smooth milkshakes. I wish it was a stronger coffee flavor and the reason for the 3 and not 4 stars. Friendly staff, efficient in how you order and receive your drink and yes...they are busy and it takes a tad of waiting for your order. Dog friendly patio out front.

Housemate pastries. Full menu. Looseleaf teas. Excellent coffee. I got the gluten free olive oil cake. So moist, vibrantly fresh, and insatiabley scrumptious. So many spots to sit here: outside circular tables with umbrellas, window bar, big living room feeling space with tables and plugs and a crammed bookshelf with books and boardgames, and then the oh so charming back courtyard with many sweet seating possibilities. Love Linnea's!

The chai, however, fell far short of expectation. While I appreciate the effort of a house blend, it sadly lacked any spice or uniqueness. It was liquid, it was brown, and it had some sweet to it. But didn't get any hint there was spice. That may be what they were going for, but it definitely won't make my list of chais to come back for. On the plus side, the egg tartine was tasty and well prepared! And we had a wonderful conversation with a local at the outdoor seating area. Overall, pleasant eating experience, but not my cuppa chai.

And it's not just my opinion as they were recently recognized in SLO Times. With a new menu monthly--offering locally sourced ingredients--everything is always a win! I'm constantly ordering something new to try but my go to is the amazing spicy chai latte. The way they make it cannot be beat by anyone in the area! Ok that may just be my opinion but I dare you to tell me otherwise. This day I ordered the strawberry basil waffle with whipped mascarpone and olive oil with of course my favorite: the spicy chai latte!!! They're so good that it's just one of those dishes that you wished stayed on the menu permanently. They have something for everyone and I recommend everything here!!! Also don't be surprised if there is a long queue in the morning. The wait is worth it!!!

Shared some of the homemade scones and had an avocado toast with a latte and really enjoyed it! They have free coffee refills (not specialty drinks) which is an added bonus. But overall, enjoyed it and would come back on occasion.

A phenomenal California Burrito…read more There's dozens of dozens of dining options in downtown SLO. I looked at various menus and online reviews. Every item seemed to be priced 25-50% more than I wanted to spend. Walked past Kreuzberg and initially thought it was only coffee and pastries. The whole layout is immaculate. Outdoor seating, indoor group seating and even a few private seats in the corner that give it a VIP ambiance. Hidden inside was a narrow lounge area with turntables with a bar area at the end. A DJ was set to start at 8pm. The music genre schedule varies. I will return. The burrito was top tier. Side of chips added to the filling satisfaction. Only downside was the price but if you add the quality service, cleanliness, vibe and atmosphere...the value is there.

It was past 7pm and the place was still hoppin' with groups on the outdoor patio, back room lounge and main area. It has more of a restaurant/club vibe than a coffee shop which gives it a special charm. When asked about their chai the friendly barista was happy to share that they don't use dry powder, they use a spicy concentrate. That's one plus!! But, it's not a house brew, it's basic Third Street Chai you buy off the shelf at the local grocer, chef supply, or natural foods store :( To their credit, they heat it up well and top it with a fancy cinnamon design on the milk foam. When asked if there is a local chai, the barista (who is a chai fan) couldn't think of any. This explains why the local reviews were so good for mediocre concentrate. While the chai quest was a miss here in SLO, Kreuzberg is still a pretty cool spot, with a fun, social vibe, friendly, helpful staff, and some tasty looking items on their menu (just not a stop for chai).

There is a private parking lot and there were plenty of spaces during the day. Once we entered, the ambiance and decor were so bright and welcoming. The staff were super friendly and their service was great. Luckily there wasn't anyone else in line so we were able to ask questions about their menu. After they gave their recommendations, we ended up with the bon bon, abuela's, and an americano. All were very good, but abuela's was my favorite! Very flavorful! We didn't realize the coffee shop was inside the complex and accidentally parked next door. We apologized and moved, but one nearby gentleman seemed disproportionately upset by our innocent mistake despite there being plenty of open spaces. As for the drinks, my husband ordered the Choco Latte and I got the iced Matchas Gracias. Both were decent. My matcha was a bit grainy, but the vanilla cold foam was tasty and helped balance it out. The space itself is charming, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall, nothing was wrong with the experience, but the drinks weren't memorable enough to bring me back, and the rocky start with parking left me feeling a little less enthusiastic than I'd hoped. I'm glad we tried it, but I probably wouldn't make a special trip to return.
