My boyfriend got an iced americano the first day and tried a hot golden mylk on the second day. He also enjoyed his drinks! The golden mylk is a perfect cold day drink that will make you feel warm and cozy inside. We also had the chance to try their pastries and got an almond croissant with jelly and a goat cheese and roasted leak scone. Im not the biggest fan of jelly filled pastries, but this one was actually really good. It paired well with the crispy exterior and not too sweet. I really enjoyed it! The goat cheese and roasted leak definitely had complimenting flavors, but it wasn't his favorite scone he has. He wished there was more goat cheese versus it just being on top. When is SLO, I will be back!

The same situation has arisen with a couple of other businesses over the years, and those have responded with rudeness, gaslighting, and unprofessionality. The point is that any small business has to deal with things that come up. It's not whether or not things come up, it's how we deal with them, and I will make a point of supporting them as a small business in the future, because of how they dealt with the situation that arose.

Luckily they had a small fridge with some bottled sparkling water. Patio seating is your best bet here. Sadly the employee said someone stole their umbrellas and propane tank. So the patio had 1 umbrella which was the only table outside that was occupied so bring a hat! The menu is very limited but they did have one salad, a steak salad. But I went back on Monday, June 8th and had a very different experience. I ordered 2 small cups of hot chai with extra foam, extra hot and 1/2 sweet. When they were done, both were "heavy" meaning they felt like there was no foam. I checked and yup...no foam. I mentioned it to the barista who said "no problem. I'll do them over". They were done quickly, but still felt "heavy". I didn't want to go back and figured "it's just me". I got into my car and tried one. It was 90% the same as before. She simply scraped a sliver of the drink off the top and added a touch of foam. Plus...the liquid was "thin" meaning she nearly scalded the drink to get it hot. The 2nd chai was the same way. And the shop wasn't even busy at the time. Everyone at the Nautical Bean is friendly and the vibe is great, but next time I'll take my own advice...even if that means going back to the barista twice to get things right.
