Nice place to stay in Paso Robles. Very traditional type of Marriott. It has a pool and hot tub. Bar inside that has happy hour. Did not try the restaurant. Great bagel shop next door for breakfast. Also close enough to town so we could walk there and do the wine tasting without having to drive. Staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful with all of our questions about restaurants and wineries. They gave us all sorts of maps and winery brochures. Really nice to have wifi in the rooms. read more

One of the main reasons someone stays in a hotel is to have a place to sleep when away from home. Right? When you don't sleep well do to the poor working condition of the hotel's facilities you have a bad stay right? When I stayed at the newly opened Courtyard in Paso Robles, I didn't sleep well. This was due to the noise the heating & air conditioning unit made. At times, it was like having a revving motorcycle in the room. At one point, I awoke saying "Holy shit! What is that" It was really stuffy in the room and my boyfriend was sleeping soundly so we needed to keep it on. So, when we checked out the next morning, I told Molly at the front desk that I didn't sleep at all the night before. She looked at me blankly and said "Ok. I'll make a note of it and have someone check it." Gee thanks. No discount? Refund? Voucher? Apology even? NO!!!!!!!!!! To make matters worse I left a sweater behind in the room. Housekeeping has yet to return my calls 10 days later. Thanks! And, puh-lease! $200 a night?!?!?! This place was one of four hotels we stayed at along our road trip down the CA coast. Two others were also Marriotts. I feel like this hotel did absolutely nothing to take precautions against covid-19. The room was barely clean, and I don't think it was any cleaner that a "basic" cleaning, the a/c was turned off, there was no hand sanitizer anywhere on the property, no reminders or markers for social distancing -- no extra precautions that I could see at all. The front desk employee wasn't even wearing a mask properly (his nose was exposed). The other Marriotts were clean, offered hand sanitizer throughout the hotel, additional sanitizing wipes in the rooms and social distancing and covid-19 reminders. I absolutely would not stay here again and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone concerned about covid -19. Paso Robles is a beautiful city with a lot of great things to do and see and I'm sure there has to be a better place to stay and also feel safe. read more

I am normally a die hard Westin/Starwood fan but since there were no Starwood properties in the area and the wedding reservation block was at the Courtyard Marriott, I didn't really have much of a choice but all in all it was a good experience. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted by the front desk staff and checked in. My friend had his own room with his family and at first we didn't have rooms next to each other but after a simple request, I was moved to a higher floor next to his room. Very nice of the hotel to accommodate me especially since the hotel was completely sold out that weekend (for the wedding). This hotel features a very comfortable lobby area with a nice bar area for lounging in the evening after a day out in the vineyards. Access to the 101 freeway is just a quick 2 minute drive and although the hotel property is next to the freeway, it is very well insulated from any road noise. (My room had a freeway view). My room was average in size. I got a king bed and there was even a small two person love seat couch in the room. There was plenty of desk/workspace in case you needed it and the restrooms were very clean. Very comfortable hotel and highly recommended. read more

We made last minute reservations as we drove back to San Diego from Napa. I made the reservation while driving down( no I was not driving). The process was easy. I negotiated a good rate with the person at the reservation counter. We decided that we were going to forgo the valet parking and parked the car in the Westin parking lot. When we drove into the parking lot and as were getting out of the car a staff member appeared and told us that we couldn't park there because that they were going to power wash the garage and our car would be in the way. We were a little ticked off. Hotel registration was simple. We had an appetizer and, Caesar salad and crab dip and chips drinks. All were excellent. We did have to move before the food came because there were chips and what looked like a glob if dip on the floor were we sat, Yuck. The room is not quiet. The windows let a lot of outside noise in. The bathroom did not look great. Broken wall tiles. The bathroom light has no dimmer switch. There is only one setting, super duper bright. In order to see you need to turn the light on, all 200,000 lumins. Very very bright. So whenever anyone goes in, the entire room is lit up and you wind up hearing, or saying, "Turn Off the Light". Breakfast was good as well as the service. Checkout easy. So the 2 stars are for the noise because that's the deal breaker. Not getting a good night sleep is a killer. read more

Ok i have mixed feelings about this place. First the services i requested beforehand were not there at the hotel room when i arrived. Extra towels, non feather pillows, extra blankets etc. Also no room service menu. However.... the staff was more than helpful and efficient. The room service was speedy. The food was mediocre. The AC was really loud going on and off i would wake up every time. But otherwise it was clean and we had a decent stay. Next time I'll request a room that isn't on the freeway side as it is loud especially for a toddler... read more

I would not recommend this property due to the lack of customer service. They double booked me. I called and cancelled my reservation in a timely manner. Within 24 hours, I had upgraded My one room reservation to three rooms. I cancelled the three room reservation unaware they also kept the one room intact! I was shocked When I requested review of this matter. Nothing. They refused to Adjust the charges. This is terrible from a major hotel chain to not Listen to their clients. I've slept in a lot of hotels. I've slept in a lot of Marriott brand hotels. This was one of the nicest hotels I've been to in a long time. Pricewise, it's no deal, but Courtyards are branded for business travelers, so you get what you pay for. The staff here was awesome. We checked in at 5am and they were extremely helpful and understanding (fyi, I have platinum status so this probably isn't an option for everyone). The decorating of this hotel is wonderful. I loved everything. My only complaint was the weird armoire instead of a closet, and the layout of the bathroom was a little funky... but overall this was a great experience. read more

Stayed here with my Marriott points and was happy to have a place to rest my head during a wine tasting weekend. The room is nice, but awkward, who really needs 6 hand towels and 6 washcloths but only 2 full bath towels? Plus there are only 3 places to hang these so there's no space to hang the dirties. The staff are really friendly, especially Aaron the bartender. Though the bar closes at 9pm. The breakfast leaves much to be desired and even though it goes until '11am' on weekends you are shit out of luck if you arrive at 10am or after unless you just want eggs or a pathetic excuse for a bagel. There's a heated pool and a jacuzzi, perfect for the winter nights of 30 degree weather! If only it wasn't so well lit you might actually get to enjoy the stars. This has to be the worst hotel stay I've had. Especially for being here on behalf of a wedding! If u plan a wedding in Paso Robles don't book w this hotel. To start we booked months in advance a king room and to our surprise upon entry to our room it was a double queen. We called and all we got was "sorry we sold out" why didn't they say something when we checked in?! A heads up would have been nice along w an apology. Second we didn't have an iron. And when we finally got one after an hour of waiting for it it didn't even work so they had to bring a second one. Luckily that one worked Bc we only had an 1 hr to get ready for the wedding. Lastly our room never got serviced no towels no refill on toilet paper. We stayed two nights & no bed made. Their excuse was oh sorry we couldn't get to it! Mind u if we had paid a budget friendly amount maybe I wouldn't care but we paid close to 600$ to stay in this little town. And that's supposedly w a group discount Bc the wedding party stayed here. This place is so nasty! Guys, so check it. I have stayed at Courtyard Marriott's ALLLLL over the country and I ALWAYS book a standard room with a king or a queen. ALLLLL Courtyard Marroitts basically have the same room set up. There is a small living room and the beds. That is it .period. I ALWAYS book Courtyard Marriott because I don't like surprises and I know what to expect. Well, upon arrive at this Courtyard in Paso, I had been in 4 hours of traffic and was just looking forward to dropping off my bags and me and the kids going to get something to eat. I took all of our luggage out of the car with a 2 and 5 year old and no one offered to help or anything and I trekked it into the most disgusting, nasty, grimy, small room I have EVER seen! I immediately call the desk and told them there must be a mistake and they were like "no, you booked a standard room" The room smelled so bad like cigarette smoke I asked to be moved they let me know that the hotel was full and they had no more rooms available. I pitched a HUGE fit and asked to speak to the manager, etc and they said they couldn't help me until I told them the room smelled like cigarettes and i wasn't staying with my kids in the room! Then they said they could move me hotels. Well, did we have to let it get so far as for me to lose it before you could move me? I hate places that play by some rule book - why can't everywhere be like Nordstrom? They called over to Springhill Marriott to make sure they had a room for us and they did! I grabbed my kids and got our luggage and peeled out. NO way! Never again! I am currently sitting in my luxurious Marriott room 15mins south and it is far superior than that crap hole north. From now on I am going to check all photos of Courtyard Marriotts before I book a room. It is like a dirty time warp at this location! Clean, comfortable, extremely friendly staff. Decent size room, with a mini-fridge, but it was empty (although you could go downstairs to the desk for snacks). My chief complaint -- pricing. I get this is wine country and that's what people come here to do. Not my agenda, just needed a place to stay while visiting family, so I had to pay the ridiculously high weekend rates. The one nice thing is that it's a fairly pleasant 20-minute walk to downtown (I walk quickly). Nothing else here was pleasant. They have a pool, but the building blocks the sun during the warmest/best part of the day for swimming or tanning. So have fun in the unheated pool in the chilly morning breeze. My bed was terribly uncomfortable. My friend's room had ants all over. All over. It was infested. And when we told them, they didn't offer to move rooms, they just sent someone in to clean them. So of course the ants came back later that day. The building is badly constructed, so you will hear every conversation of your neighboring rooms, every door slam in the hallway, every step they take upstairs. Don't plan on sleeping. The shower water pressure is terrible, the temperature control is nil (sometimes you'll get only cold water and sometimes it'll scald you), neither my sink nor tub drained correctly, which is so gross, and they use far too much softener in the water so you always feel slimy after a shower or washing your hands. Blech! The icing on the cake was the surprise $40 fee they charged and they didn't even make me aware of when I checked in. I will never stay here again. read more

Our room was at the end of the hall next to the staircase. At six a m we were awakened by voices and pounding feet coming from the stairwell . Not soundproof at all. When asked at check out how our stay was we told them. They didn't seem surprised or really care. Thought Marriott would be better than that. This location is perfect! The hotel is clean, bed is super comfy (on the softer side for this of you that like hard mattresses) and staff is friendly. My room was overlooking the pool and spa, which is also the side that faces the freeway. I didn't hear freeway except for a loud truck horn early in the morning. This place is close enough to downtown to drive, but around 30 minutes walking distance. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! read more

All was good. Nice location. Nice room. Internet TV. Even the towels we're surprisingly soft. BUT the AC unit was horrible. It blows directly toward the bed at a high speed. I changed the settings on the wall thermostat to low fan, but it kept changing back. What's worse is when the compressor cycled off it blew warm, then when on super cold. We were either hot or cold. Neither of us slept more than a few hours and were left exhausted. It would not even stay off. If I thought this was a malfunctioning unit, I'd rate higher but I think this is how it's designed. read more

I've traveled the world extensively and have stayed in numerous hotels on many continents far and wide. A Marriot is a Marriot whether it's in California or Timbuktu. This Marriott is clean and sell kept. Check in was smooth and easy except no one offered to help with our bags. We enjoyed happy hour at the bar and I had a beer on tap and wife had a wine. I was going to the pool via the elevator but had to first pull out luggage carts/dollies that we left. Pool was nice but I would have preferred one indoors as it was cold. 1 star because 0 is not an option. Absolute worst customer experience of any Marriott property (or other hotel for that matter) I've ever stayed with. Altered our reservation prior to our arrival without notification changing both room type and rate (reservation that was made months in advance mind you). Completely unhelpful when questioned about changes, or even asked about recommendations in the area. So bad in fact that when asked for assistance because the coffee maker in the room was broken we couldn't even get a cup of coffee without additional charge and were told "oh we can get a repair guy up in an hour or two". Absolutely not what I have come to expect from Marriott having been a repeat customer and a rewards member for more than a decade. Enough to make one consider whether or not to continue to do business with the brand. read more

Don't stay here unless you're trying to get sick. Management either has no idea what's going on or they don't care. The rooms were not cleaned well. We found other people's belongings in the first room and it was clear the light switch surfaces had not been cleaned. We asked to switch rooms and found other people's belongings in the pull out sofa bed of the second room which means those sheets were not changed. The wall paper was peeling off in the bathroom. Every time I went down to the lobby there were guests not wearing masks (while not eating or drinking). I asked the front desk how this was allowed and they told me they weren't permitted to say anything to anyone because it has made guests angry in the past. To make matters worse, I overheard the front desk people talking about how several of them got nauseous and threw up on their shift. My bf and I had felt nauseous and threw up the day before I overheard this, but we just thought it was food poisoning. I'm disgusted at how little the establishment cares about the well-being of not only their guests, but their employees! Friendly check in staff. Upon entering the room we discovered stained sheets had not been change from the previous guest. After two calls, someone arrived to change the sheets. We also received a notice all mattresses were to be changed starting at 8:00 AM. I can see why the mattresses need to be changed, however the notice said they will enter the room even if a do not disturb sign was used or not. Since check out is 12:00 PM I feel we have already been inconvenienced once, but twice in one stay is asking too much. read more

Great location to nearby wineries, Hearst Castle and Morro Bay. Kids enjoyed the heated outdoor pool and sauna. Used the 24-hour gym while taking advantage of the complimentary laundry. A coworker of mine forgot her spare change of clothes and asked the receptionist if they have any robes so she is able to wash her clothes in the meantime. We were told they do not provide any robes and to go to Walmart to purchase one. Next i realized upon going upstairs they never informed of when check out is and what the wifi information is. I looked around the room and it was nowhere to be found. I was forced to call and find out that information. Now calling to find out information is not a big deal but to have to call for information which should've been provided is ridiculous. Even though it is right off Highway 101 the freeway  can not be heard at all. Bistro downstairs was a good selection and the breakfast crew friendly and very helpful.  The rooms were new nice furnished with Flat Screen TV.  Our room had a view out over the mountains that only the Central coast can offer to people visiting there from other places. Room rate was a little pricy. Would recommend to anyone visiting that area read more
