Had high hopes for this place. Service was for the most part excellent. The ambience was non existent due to a major front/ back of house cleaning, right in the middle of lunch. The food! For $12 bucks, it shows! Fries were not very good and the burger, average at best. They put two small rings of cooked red onion and no pickles. Food was made without love! Taste 6/10 Service 9/10 Accuracy 2/10 Presentation 5/10

This place was not good. I got a double cheeseburger and a side of fries. It was $19.50 for this... that's way too expensive. I could kind of understand this price if the food was good, but the burger had absolutely no seasoning or flavor at all, was really bland and tasteless. The side of fries was old and dry, it felt like they were made 3 days ago, had been sitting around, and were reheated when my order was packed up. Fries were hard, chewy, and cold. I tried to drown the fries in a pool of ketchup to save the meal, but it didn't work. This is one of the worst burger meals I've ever had. A double cheeseburger from any fast food spot would've been a better choice for my meal.

I've been coming to cousins burger for some time and consistency has been the theme so far. I normally go for the chicken burger or smash burger. This time I went for the smash burger and my friends got the chicken variants. As usual both choices were on point. Food came out hot and fresh. The sauces are great additions when trying any options here. Overall, ambiance and customer service are great. Always a guaranteed satisfied meal when coming here.

Nothing good to say about this burger joint. Subpar quality food. Fake cheese whiz. Burger sauce tastes rancid. Trash

Second time grabbing food here and went with a Double Smash Burger this time. The space inside looks comfortable, and there's tons of seating around. I just happen to be within 5 minutes of the restaurant, so I got takeout. The photo is a little deceiving because there's much more under the bun than just 2 huge patties and cheese (and very nice job increasing the size of the burgers). There's a sauce similar to the Big Mac sauce, so sort of like Thousand Island dressing, as well as grilled onions. Ketchup still pairs perfectly with it, but this is no boring burger. Highly recommend. For $20 for the burger and fries, a very compelling offer. Value: 4/5 Quality: 4/5 Quantity: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Service: 5/5

I can't tell you what an asset Stephanie is to that company. We were expecting to go eat and then maybe go someplace else for a drink, but after our experience with all of the workers as well as I mentioned, Stephanie. Since it was happy hour, we ordered all of the $6 Snacks and some $8 snack items. OOOK, here we go: Hot chicken slider( you only get 1 folks) very good and had the right amount of toppings 5/5 Pulled pork slider: Very flavorful, juicy, and tender: 5/5 Caesar salad: 5/5 Deviled eggs. Good, but too salty Fried pickles: Good, but too salty Chicken & Andouille Gumbo: This was excellent. The braised chicken thighs were seasoned well and very tender. The pickled red onions really elevated this dish. 5/5 The grilled salmon had a great char and crunch. It was not dry nor over cooked. 5/5 The burger was delicious just as a burger should be and the famous duck fat fries were very crunchy. 5/5 for both Happy hour is really the time to go, but make sure they honor your reservation. Til we eat again....

The Love is better. The space is beautiful, the service is consistently warm, and Stephen Starr's fingerprints are all over it. I love the painted white brick, the floral artwork along the walls, the street-level energy, and the outdoor seating. I also remember taking the elevator upstairs once. I can't remember whether we actually stayed and ate up there or asked to move back downstairs, but the space was charming and extremely private. It would be a great setting for a group dinner or event. Personally, I prefer downstairs. It's darker, livelier, and I like being at street level. The menu historically leaned more heavily into elevated Southern comfort food, which has never been my favorite style of cooking. That's probably why I've tended to prefer The Love for lunch over dinner, especially when Philadelphia has so many Starr restaurants competing for the same night out. I used to get what I remember as a salmon and farro bowl, although the menu appears to have evolved since then. Whatever the exact iteration was, I loved it. Fish and farro are both right in my wheelhouse. I've also enjoyed the kale salad and other lighter dishes. The thing I remember most vividly, though, is the cornbread. It is outrageously good and reason enough to order something for the table. I also give Starr credit for continuing to broaden the range of food styles in his portfolio. Once you've built restaurants across Italian, French, Mexican, English, steakhouses, seafood, and the rest, there are only so many obvious boxes left to check. The Love feels like its own lane: distinctly American, approachable, comfort-driven, and still polished enough to feel like a Starr restaurant. Looking at the menu now, it seems broader than I remember, with more options that appeal to me, and I'd be psyched to go back. The Love probably isn't the first Starr restaurant I'd choose purely based on cuisine, but that says more about the depth of his Philadelphia portfolio than it does about this restaurant. The room, hospitality, location, and execution are all excellent. I'd happily come here any day. Starr doesn't miss.

On a whim, I called Butcher Bar and told them I know it's last minute on a Saturday night, but could they accommodate 9 people. They told me if we were there in 30 minutes they could make it work, so we rushed over. We sat at the bar for drinks as they cleaned up a table. They overheard us talking about how The Trough would be nice (feeds 8 for $300, but was more than enough for us 9), and said if we wanted that they could get it started as the table was prepared. We said yes, and were sat a few minutes later with drinks in hand. Jenna (Gema? She had grape earrings) was a fantastic server and just so kind and attentive. She kept the drinks flowing and The Trough arrived sooner than I expected and was everything I wanted for dinner and more. I can't thank Butcher Bar enough for saving the night for my 40th and just providing a fantastic experience. We'll be back, and we promise to give more notice next time! :)

We asked for the toppings on the side because, you know, kids, but WOW. The vodka sauce was delicious, and the pickled tomato concoction that came with them? I could've bathed in it. The calamari was perfectly crisp and came with the unexpected bonus of onion rings, which were ever-so-lightly battered and perfectly crunchy. And once again, the sauces were superb. The boys shared a cheese pizza, half pepperoni, and really enjoyed it. My husband ordered the burger, and yes, I stole a bite--and yes, to no one's surprise, it was amazing. We also ordered the charred broccoli after seeing everyone rave about it online. They were NOT wrong. Creamy, smoky, charred perfection. And finally... drumroll please... the 10 oz. smoked Duroc pork chop! OH. EM. GEEE. Perfectly charred on the outside and incredibly juicy inside, sitting in the most delicious smoky morita-apricot glaze and topped with a bright cucumber-melon salad with mint and blue basil. The contrast was perfection! The rich, smoky pork, the sweet and slightly spicy glaze, and that cool, fresh salad on top. Every bite had the perfect combination of flavors and textures. Easily one of the best pork chops I've ever had. As wonderful as the food was, the service somehow made the experience even better. From the minute we arrived, we were treated like family coming home for the holidays. Warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. What an absolute joy of a restaurant. The lobster ravioli was 50/50 for me personally, while the lobster was cooked well and the sauce flavorful, the only lobster was what was topped on the ravioli and not actually stuffed in with the cheese like I was expecting. It was still good, just not as "lobster ravioli" as Im used to. The pizza is a very thin crust but they did a wonderful job of not burning the crust despite this. There was a lao a really nice distribution of pepperoni throughout the pizza and it never really gave that "greasy" feeling that can happen.
