I stopped at the mequon location to pick up a couple subs for my daughter and myself, being close to St. Patrick's day I thought I would order the hot Rubin sub, I'm telling you this was the best sub by far I've ever experienced. It was loaded with meat cheese sauerkraut etc. This Mequon location was clean and I waited less than 5 minutes and I was back on the road. Absolutely loved my experience here. I was in a hurry and the staff were quick and efficient with helping me. The gal assembling the subs was very helpful as I walked up to her first not paying attention. Very clean restaurant and soft music that wasn't overbearing. The employee at the register took my order. He was patient with me throughout the process. I had a coupon, a gift card and rewards to contend with. The subs are always tasty. They use quality meats and cheeses. The bread is a little too rough, it should be softer like Subway. The location is nice, several tables to enjoy your meal at and the workers are kind and efficient. The place usually is in clean and working order. Improvements need to be made on the prices, it is very pricey for a sandwich, chips and a drink. It usually means you are spending about $15 for a combo meal. They have to find a way to reduce the prices. read more

NEW MANAGEMENT ROCKS! To start off, I've been to this location before several months ago. Let's just say it wasn't the best experience. I came back into town and tried it again, and it's honestly wayyy better than what it used to be. Firstly, the new management is amazing. Two college guys that are super nice and friendly with great customer service. I asked Armando his suggestion on what he liked the most. He told me that his favorite go to sub is the Cheesesteak sandwich. He makes it with jalapeños and mayo as the base, steak, onions, and peppers for the heart of the sand-which, and tops it off with the Chipotle Mayo and provolone cheese. He made it easy to decide and I went with his suggestion. I ate it and forgot take a picture of it. So I decided to get another sandwich. I got the Club sandwhich in the mini size. It came out to $4 which was nice. I also go the mac from here too which costed me $3. The Mac is super tasty and similar to Panera but wayyyyy cheaper. While I was sitting here eating, I asked Armando about their gyro sandwich and the mint shake. He sold me on the mint shake to take home with me. That ran me about $4 for a regular size (which is a lot). Brutal. Just brutal as can possibly be. "Hot" veggie was... you guessed it... cold. Cheese steak? Way too much to handle. About 90% of the cheese on the sub was lumped into onr bite-size cheese ball. Oh, you ordered no tomatoes? That's a big ask. More likely to get no tomatoes if you ask for extra. Forgot the side or marinara. Bread was ripped in half the LONG way. We always stop in this specific restaurant on our way north. This past Thursday we stopped for our usual but I read the pricing incorrectly and the entire staff was so patient with me, especially this young man Alan. I used to work at three Cousins Subs in the area for 3 years. (I had a "home base" but my store owners owned 3 stores) I know the ins and outs of the business being a former shift leader. Never, in my years of actual experience have I dealt with such dry, impersonal employees. They don't even look at you or smile. I've gone a few times to see if there is someone with a personality working there. Could be a personal preference but it is a huge turn off to me. I stopped in recently and was observing one of the employees making sandwiches on the grill. Just from my experience, if I were to deliberately throw the wax paper that sits in between the RAW steak on the ground, I would get reprimanded by managment. This is related to delivery for this location, not the food. The charge for delivery is very high, ($6 or thereabouts), but since I was stuck on a project and wanted a sub, I decided to go ahead. The delivery person never came. I waited 1.5 hours. Apparently they contract this service out. I called the store, and the lady that answered told me to call the delivery service, and I had no idea what she was talking about because I ordered directly off of the cousins website! Then she said some things about it not being their fault because of the delivery service. She said she'd call the owner. I guess they found someone, because the end of the story is, they delivered new food. It was tasty enough, but by the time I got it, I barely had time to eat it; my lunch hour was long over. I find it funny that the last review on this page is almost exactly identical to the review I am about to post. I was on the road this past Friday and decided to stop in for a quick bite to eat. The hours that were posted on the door for Friday are until 8pm. I entered the store at 7:20pm. My girlfriend wanted a hot sandwich, but apparently that was too much work to do because they were "out of" anything required to make hot sandwiches. My order was taken from a less than friendly, indifferent young lady. I ask for my sandwich, clearly stating easy on the mayo, and get extra mayo. While I am giving my order, another guy comes into the store with his food asking where his fires are. The guy who makes the sandwiches is very apologetic and asks if anything else is screwed up with his order. He is very nice about it, but I recognize him from another time I was in where I had a mess up that I discovered. When I go to pay, the lady doesn't hand me the credit card, she rests her arm on the register and I have to awkwardly retrieve it from her hand. When she hand me the sandwich, she is looking completely away, no eye or face contact whatsoever. That is so off putting for a business! Dont go to this Cousins - Go to Thiensville or somewhere else the drive is worth it. I think this place uses half the meat they are supposed to. One of the subs had so much lettuce I could barely taste the paper thin SINGLE cold cut slice on a turkey sub.
