I was craving a cousin's Italian sub so I jumped on Yelp to see what was close to me and this location was close so I drove over. Street parking was out front but the area is metered and you get 12 minutes for a quarter which is cheaper than a parking ticket so why gamble and just put the quarter in. Three people behind the counter and I'm standing there for minutes with no one even acknowledged me and when the guy was finished making food he thought it was a good time to start sweeping the kitchen as I'm still standing waiting to have my order to be taken. When I finally got to place my order I was told that they didn't have the meat for the Italian and did I want something else, NO the Italian is only sandwich that I stop at cousins for. Really can't believe how bad Cousins has gotten. I was at a meeting and some Cousins catering was brought in from this location and the lack of any sort of taste was just unbelievable. The bread doesn't taste like bread. There is literally no taste of any meats or cheese because there was literally almost none of them in the sandwiches. It just tasted like you were eating tasteless bread with some old warm mayo in between. I looked around and people were pulling off chunks of bread trying to get to anything with some taste. I ordered 3 Club Subs from Cousins. I usually order from the Miller Park location, this time I was directed to this location. I've ordered subs from this location before and I've never had any issues with this restaurant until today. The sandwiches were perfect, but the bread was a bit hard, like they either over baked the bread or it was baked 2 days ago. Having only recently moved to Wisconsin, I'm a big fan of Cousins Subs (not a Michigan franchise). The garlic bread is awesome, and combining it with the Italian sandwich (pro tip: ask for it hot), it's a combination that was meant for each other. Add the 2 for $1 cookies, and you're in for a great lunch. With that being said, this location is absolutely horrible, and unfortunately it's the one that is closest to me. The staff here is so unfriendly, unenthusiastic, and sometimes downright rude nearly every time I've been here. Unless you're really craving a cousin's sub (sometimes I just really want that bread!), I'd instead recommend the Jimmy Johns about a block away or the Potbelly's (yum!) down Wisconsin. read more

It's not as well run as the other Cousins I've been to, the table tops are often not clean and the workers exude disinterest and angst. Delivery orders are never correct. I'd agree with Bob K completely, since I thought IMO(hadn't been to a Penn Station yet) that it was better than Subway, but wasn't quite as good as Jersey Mike's. Ordered a Philly Cheesesteak sub, and while it wasn't bad, it made me wish that a Jersey Mike's was in this area instead. At least the bread I got it on(Parmesan Asiago) wasn't bad, though. Why I didn't go here before instead of the nearby and worser Subway one or 2 visits back, is beyond me. We had never been to this chain and decided to give it a try. Best way to describe this place is a cross between Jimmy Johns and Penn Station. Better than Subway, but not nearly as good as Penn Station. This chain started out in Milwaukee by two cousins in the 70's and has grown but remains family owned to this day. read more

To be kind in the first sentence only, I do enjoy your cheese curds and Mac and cheese. However, on the three times in the past week that I have visited cousins subs, they have denied making me a milkshake (similar to Peter denying Jesus Christ three times). This is odd because the milkshake seems to be your main focus of your advertisements showcased at Marquette University. My personal favorite encounter occurred today when the employee made two milkshakes in front of my own two eyes for the costumers before me, but then told me he was unable to make me a shake with no explanation. I did see ice cream in the machine, and the store was open for two more hours so I don't see why I couldn't receive one. This is simply unacceptable. I do not recommend this establishment. read more

We had a great experience here. The employees were friendly and efficient. Not what I am used to from fast food. The set up is similar to a subway, where you pick your bread, pick your sandwich, then pick your toppings as you watch them make it for you. I was impressed with the selection of sandwiches, and really liked the calorie total listed on the menu. I chose not to get my favorite sandwich when I saw it packed over 1,000 calories.
