Came to check out this place because it used to be one of my favorite spots when it was called The Dringk. I'm always up for trying out new places in the valley, however, our experience was a little disappointing. The food and drinks were decent, but the customer service was DISAPPOINTING! It started at the front--no smile or acknowledgment from the hostess. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes and made eye contact with multiple servers, yet no one offered drinks or checked on us. The place wasn't even packed or busy. We were seated right by the bar, so it was hard to miss us. Thankfully, the manager eventually approached us, and service improved from there. We stayed a bit longer to check out the live band, which was good. In town for business and this was one of the options close to the hotel. Disappointed to say the least. Our waiter wasn't rude I guess, but not friendly! He got the job done. My husband got the brisket sandwich and said it was decent. Requested BBQ sauce on the side which never showed up. Our friend and I both got the 10oz steak and it was meh. I ordered mine medium rare but the steak was so thin it was barely medium. Mac n cheese was the highlight of my meal. Back to our waiter - when asked about my side choice I requested the loaded baked potato and his reply was simply "can't". You mean there's not even an option to try to up charge me? Well howdy there fellow yelpers!! Came into this place while visiting the desert as it looked good online and it was really close to our hotel. The space is new and open, and it looked like a clean establishment that was ready to handle some people. Service was good but let me tell you the water that they serve is absolutely terrible, tasted like straight chemicals. The waitress was friendly and took her order pretty fast and in no time the food was coming to the table which I appreciated. The cauliflower appetizer was good but the sauce that comes with it was extremely spicy and it's not even noted on the menu. I thought it was honey mustard and I took a bite and let me tell you this thing burned the mouth off of me. My son had the chicken tenders, which were actually pretty good ,juicy and fried well, and I opted for the bronco burger which honestly is the reason that this place is getting the four star review. This was a damn good burger in my opinion cooked well, very tasty and honestly was delicious. My wife ordered the black bean burger, which she said was good also and the fries were crispy and cooked to perfection. All in all good meal, good service .The one thing they really need to work on is that water !! We were looking for somewhere to grab drinks n apps after a morning of shopping. I had seen this is a new location, I had been to the previous location twice and loved the food and aesthetics. For a Tuesday afternoon it was relatively quiet and I can't figure out "why?" Service, food and ambience was on point. I went to happy hour today on the patio with my 92 year-old mom and my dog. Even though it was hot, it was quite lovely and shady. Our waiter, Javier was fantastic. Five stars for him and brussels sprouts. The taquitos were also quite tasty but for me the meat was a tad sweet. Javier explained that it's not regular Mexican food as you know it called southwestern cuisine. They cook the pork with bbq sauce which gives it a different flavor .I prefer my food on the savory side even though the brussels sprouts were a tad sweet.as well, I still loved them.. They had maple syrup on the side if you want to pour that on top. The guacamole was excellent quality, but for me and my mom, we like it spicier so for those of you that prefer non-spicy it's perfect. We will definitely be back and order other things on the menu as well as a repeat of those delicious brussels sprouts and hopefully we get Javier as our server again. I was in town for a golf vacation. My cousin and myself decided to try this place out. I had the California burrito. It was ok, the Carne asada was alright. If the fries were more crispy, I think it would have made the burrito better. Now, just because I thought my burrito was just average. Doesn't mean the food here isn't that good. After my last experience here, I honestly didn't expect to be writing a new review like this -- but we have to give credit where credit is due. The team at Cowboy Cantina reached out and invited us back, which we truly were shocked & greatly appreciated it. We decided to give it another shot, and I'm really glad we did because this time around was a completely different experience. From the moment we walked in, the service and atmosphere felt totally turned around. We were greeted warmly, checked on regularly, and actually felt like valued guests. This is the kind of effort that shows a restaurant really cares about improving and making things right! Our server, Isreal, was absolutely amazing. He was attentive without hovering, he was friendly, funny, and genuinely seemed to care about our experience. Drinks were refilled quickly, everything came out in great timing, and he made sure we had everything we needed the whole night. It honestly felt like the level of service you hope for when you go out to eat. The food itself was great and came out fresh and flavorful. You could tell there was real attention being paid this time, and it made a big difference in how enjoyable the meal was. One of the highlights of the night was the tableside dessert prepared by Jared. Not only was it delicious, but it was also entertaining to watch him put it together right there at the table. It added a fun, memorable touch to the meal and was the perfect way to end the night. This experience showed exactly how restaurants should handle things with their customers. Instead of ignoring feedback, they took it seriously, made the effort to improve, and invited us back to make it right. We came to Cowboy Cantina tonight to celebrate my birthday... my mom treating me to a nicer dinner than what she'd normally afford for dinner, which made the experience feel extra disappointing knowing this was a more costly meal in her eyes. We ordered directly from the printed menu. I chose the brisket, which clearly states it comes with two sides, planning on baked beans and a baked potato. My mom ordered the baby back ribs with mac & cheese. When we placed the order, our server apologized and told us they had changed the menu, but not what's actually printed. Apparently, you no longer get to choose sides... everything now automatically comes with mashed potatoes and "mixed veggies," with no option to swap or upgrade. That was confusing, especially since the sides we wanted were available and could be ordered separately for an extra charge. Even if you add on a baked potato, you still get mashed potatoes and veggies no matter what. It just felt unnecessarily rigid and poorly communicated. On top of that, we were served Diet Cokes by another server, and on the very first sip we both immediately knew it was regular Coke. When we mentioned it, our server said he "didn't think so" but would check. It was a small thing, but frustrating--especially right after being told we couldn't order what was clearly listed on the menu. Eventually, after asking again, we were brought a can of Diet Coke, which solved it, but the hesitation felt odd. 2 cans for $7.90? Not even enough ice to stay melted. Was all just annoying. When the food arrived, it looked fine. The brisket itself was good, but it wasn't the meal I wanted or ordered. Plus EXTREMELY fatty. One piece was more fat than meat. I expect some on brisket but not The Who fat cap as a piece to be served. Also, the "mixed veggies" weren't what was described (green beans and carrots), but instead squash and zucchini. Overall, nothing was terrible (maybe the mandatory squash), but the combination of an inaccurate menu, inflexible substitutions, and small service issues made the night disappointing. I don't think I'll be back, which is a shame, because this was meant to be a special birthday dinner and just didn't live up to the moment. Had my siblings been with I'm sure they would've stormed out yelling at so they are lucky they got the nice ones in the family... but, my mom deserves a refund. read more

I went for Karaoke Mondays and the karaoke was amazing. The audience is very engaged and enthusiastic about singing and giving flowers. The BBQ is very good but my only gripe was it's a touch on the dry side for my taste (had brisket and ribs and needed more sauce). Staff were very attentive, prompt, friendly and responsive the whole night. I got my extra sauce without hesitation ;). The real kicker is the audience, again, karaoke enthusiasts all around and it seemed like everyone was a singer. Definitely should check out for a Monday night near PD. read more

To start, service was great and our sever was kind and attentive. We sat outside but they did not forget about us. Also, thumbs up to the food runner and 2 other staff that assisted our table. The wings were actually so good and the best thing we had during our meal. The lettuce in our wedge salad was very bitter and became overwhelming after a while. Slow service, the place was practically empty,mediocre food, and when our server f8nally brought our check, he forgot to mention that gratuity was already in the bill for our party of 6. So he managed to get a super large tip that was not remotely deserved. I should mention that, i should have reviewed the entire bill, but with the new remote handheld terminals, he asked if I wanted it printed, and I made the assumption ot was ok, my bad. The new location is nice, looks good, but we did prefer the old location. I have mentioned the gratuity situation to several other local residents, and I doubt they will be checking out the restaurant, and we will not go back. So we were staying nearby and stopped in for a drink. Ryan the bartender provided some of the best service I have had in years. He was prompt, genuinely interested in making sure we got amazing drinks, and checked in at the right intervals. He was so good, we went back the next two nights because we knew we wouldn't find another place nearly as fun or inviting. Then we found out they hadn't been open long - we would never have guessed it because the operations ran smooth as silk. We ended up meeting the manager and the owner and everyone was awesome. Honestly, not the best experience but not the worst. There was about 8 other people here (3 different tables) so not busy at all. We got here at 1:30 and they have the brunch menu until 2... we asked if we could wait for the regular menu. There was 3 adults and 1 child in our party. Took about 5 mins of waiting before a host even came up to us when we walked in... and with no crowd it seemed a bit weird to wait that long.... I ordered a strawberry lemonade and it had no flavor at all.. tasted like lemonade that was watered down with a bit of red for color. The cherry (in the strawberry lemonade, again weird) was SO HORRIBLE! I HAD TO SPIT IT OUT! I got a burger and a side of Mac... it was very BLAND. No flavor at all. Like I said wasn't the worst but definitely did not feel like paying $6 for this tiny portion of Mac and cheese that didn't taste like anything... I like paying a fair or expensive amount of money if the food is well worth it. But this was very expensive for something so yucky..... service was trying (not busy at all by the way) but still no drink refill for the entire meal and one of members of my party asked for mayonnaise when ordering and again when he walked by and never got it... I would understand if it was crowded but by the time we finished our meal there was just us 4 and another table 4... very interesting. We loved this place. The food was amazing. We started with pulled pork taquitos and they were hot and delicious. My cowboy Cobb salad with chicken was the best salad I have ever had. It had all the goodies and was big enough to share. My husband got the beef tacos and he said they were tasty. I wish I had gotten some pictures because the food was plated so beautifully!! Our server was FLOR and she was excellent. She was so personable and friendly. She was attentive and our glass was never empty. The restaurant was clean and very nice inside. I seen this spot when it popped up ok my Instagram and it looked like a good spot, the food and DJ on Friday was appealing so I made reservations for 6, well we showed up at 6:30 and had dinner and drinks 8pm came around and no DJ I was told he decided not to show up. Then we received the bill and the waitress said that gratuity had been included because we were a party of 6 and that any party of 5 or more that's automatic, the website clearly states that a party of 8 or more that's when they add the gratuity. This review is a couple months overdue. We'd been hearing a lot of good things about the Cowboy Cantina, and we certainly weren't disappointed. It's a large place with plenty of indoor seating, a huge bar, and a quaint tree lined patio. Javier waited on us, and the service was very good. DRINKS: We started with a couple of cocktails, a Chili Nelson ($9), and two Pink Margaritas ($9/ea.) made from prickly pears. All of their Specialty Cocktails were priced between $9 - $10, which is very reasonable for the area. In addition to the full bar, they also have a decent selection of draft beers for $9, and wines for varying prices. FOOD: We tried the Pulled Pork Taquitos ($11), the Chicken Fried Pork Chop ($28), and the Big Tex Cowboy Steak ($45). All of the entrèes were good sized portions and plenty tasty. We finished it all off with a Churro Adobe ($5), with a chocolate espresso dipping sauce...awesome! Overall, a nice, family friendly place with good food and service. First time here and I'm looking forward to coming back! Brunch is hearty and I'm a fan of the bottomless mimosa option. While I did not partake in the mimosas, I did have a couple other cocktails from their menu. The Spritz & Weston was boozy but would benefit from a little extra fruity flavor to lighten it up. I used some of my friend's blood orange juice that she ordered for her own mimosa. I do love the souvenir plastic glass it in comes in which is perfect to use at home by the pool. They have rotating cocktail specials so that's always fun. I tried their pomegranate margarita special and it was a little on the syrupy side. Not bad, not great. The interior is really cute and I love the staggered seating with the bar at the heart of the building. The biscuits & gravy are flavorful and filling. If you want to drink, you definitely have to pair it with something hearty and those biscuits sure do the trick! The french toast was sweet but the bread was hard. Not sure why but for that reason I was disappointed. Fresh toast should be soft and fluffy. The bread's edges were hard as a rock and I had to saw through them with the steak knife they provided. The inside was not very soft to eat around either but the ricotta was good. I wouldn't get it again. Despite that, I would return to try other items on the memu. read more

Started out with the southwest eggrolls.. the wrapper was perfectly crispy but the inside was just mashed chicken... expected more variety as the beans and corn of the menu described. The dipping sauce was a runny salsa, which would have been better paired with an avocado crema. We split the bronco burger...a thick beef patty piled high with brisket, bacon, and an onion ring... topped with a tangy bbq sauce. It was a bit overcooked but the toppings sufficiently hid it. The bacon was a hit as it was candied. Fries were average. Wanted dessert but just no stomach space left after the large portions.. Ambiance was Southwest chic(loved it!), service was friendly and prompt, and prices were in line with the area... If I could leave zero stars I would. Me and my family of four came in for dinner we're new to the area and figured we would give it a try. That was our first mistake. The hostess was nice and sat us at a booth near the front of the restaurant. Our server Flora was beyond sweet and extremely helpful when we had questions. However, our food took almost an HOUR. Our food was cold and was so tasteless. The burger was hard as a rock and dry!! Our server apologized but then while we were waiting for our check some lady (I'm assuming is the manager) was speaking so rudely to another guest at the front who was also complaining about the wait and told her "what do you want me to do about it" ! This place doesn't care about guests and did absolutely nothing to fix their mistakes. Horrible food and horrible atmosphere horrible management. Im surprised this place is still open. read more

The margaritas were okay but there was some different flavor in them. Apparently the flavor depends on who is making them, per the staff. For the entrees we ordered the brisket sandwich, the enchiladas, and a cheeseburger. The brisket sandwich was good. The enchiladas were pretty meh. The entree came with black beans and more chips, and a very small plastic container of green salsa - no rice, no avocado, no guacamole, no sour cream.
