The food and service is lovely here. We came here twice over the weekend. Got the pulpo and ceviche tostada the first dinner. Pulpo was cooked perfectly and so flavorful. There was a tower of ceviche on the tostada and we had to bring it back, enjoying it the next day for lunch. Came back for lunch and got fish tacos and steamed mussels. Both were delicious. Fish tacos were crispy and steamed mussels were so yummy. Great wine selection too! read more

*Oceana's Breeze in the Desert* The star of the night was the octopus appetizer. Best ever. Seriously. Fresh. Tender. Juicy. Succulent. The Hummus and Demi glaze was Fantastico. And so was our sweet and lovely waitress, Alo. She's attentive, friendly, charming and such a doll. Wifey told her "you're the best waitress we've had in the entire Coachella Valley. And I agree 100%. Wifey's hibiscus margarita was unique, flavorful and refreshing. She forget to tell them "no salt." But it all worked out for the better, because the salt & chili powder spice rim on the glass, kicked it up another notch. I sampled it with a couple sips and totally agree. I'm generally a h2o dude when I eat...and loved the glass water bottle left table-side. More restaurants need to offer this. All our food was outstanding. My Branzino/fish was excellent quality and prepared perfectly. But a little too much sauce for my liking. I prefer Branzino when it's grilled whole with a light sauce. The piccata style was prepared well and the texture too. The sauce was good but a little salty for me -- especially with all the capers, and would prefer a little more lemon flavor. The rice was overly salty and wifey mentioned it to me before I even had my first bite. She had the Bosa Verde and enjoyed it very much. We both happily cleaned our plates. The squash was perfect and paired well with our entrees. Free complementary birthday dessert for wifey was just okay. Though we appreciated the thought and celebratory gesture...it was prepared with way too much gelatin and was like thick tres leche milk jello...and with ice cream too on top -- diary overkill. The carmel sauce was right on the money. Perhaps the preparation is their take on this dessert? Next time, we're going to be all over that Carlata Cake we saw at one of the other tables. The service is top-tier & polished. Couldn't ask for better hospitality. Along with Alo, was Daniel (who I recognized from Salsas) and the bartender Alex, who both happily joined in on the action. Chef Oscar, also made his way to our table to say hello & Happy Birthday. And of course let's not forget the classy & gracious owner, Fernando, who we shared a wonderful conversation with. He's a sharp dressed man, with lots of restaurant and resort history in the Coachella Valley. The restaurant & bar decor is simple yet chic, elegant and cozy. The lighting & room temp was perfecto. And the chairs at our table were extremely comfortable -- which encouraged more enjoyment and lingering. I've read some reviews claiming the restaurant is very loud. We did not experience that. Thankfully. The octopus alone is enough to bring us back for a lite bite at the bar...and more dining experiences to sample more of the menu, for both lunches & dinners. Looking forward to trying their ahi tacos -- served only at lunch. My wife had her choice to dine at any restaurant she wanted for her birthday. Since we both love great fish, we narrowed it down to Oceana and their reputation. This place is incredible. This was my 3rd time there. Brought my niece and nephew for their first time. We found out that Thursday nights are free corkage, so my nephew brought his favorite bottle of wine...free! The octopus appetizer was crispy and delicious. The sauce was amazing, We got the surf and turf and the Chamorro y Mole (pork shank). Wow. Both dishes were so delicious. The sauce with the steak and shrimp was amazing. Great acoustics. This place doesn't look like a restaurant. Parking on both sides of the building. Sounds like seafood and it is with a latin spin. We were in the bar and the server had the whole room to herself it seemed but that did not affect the service. We split a beet salad that was wonderful and plenty to split. I had the surf and turf. Shrimp was the serf. The steak was good tender and properly cooked medium rare more rare than medium Were my instructions. My friend had shrimp bath were served with a sauce. I hot mashed potatoes and he got rice. It is part of a family Ria restaurant group. I would like to try the other ones in the group and will return here as well. This is a very nice upscale dining experience with beautiful decor. The bar area was very spacious and the dining area had comfortable table and booth seating. Alexis was a really good server. I recommend trying the fresh lobster guacamole, served with chips. The Salmon with white wine risotto was delicious. They cooked the iron steak with truffle fries to perfection. We found Oceana on a whim and it was one of the best restaurants we dined at during our trip. The restaurant is a little fancy and there's a wide selection of items you can choose from. We ordered the Calamary Milanese, the Roasted Beet Salad (THE BEST - One of my mom's most favorites out of all the restaurants she can remember), the Flat Iron, The Basa Veracruz (I believe), and the 7 Oceanas, we also had two drinks but I don't remember them but they were good. Alondra was our waitress and did a really great job with service. She checked on us regularly and made sure every dish was to our liking. The interior of the restaurant was very nice and is intimate dining styled with a pretty bar and dim lighting. All the dishes we had were cooked very well and were delicious and the service was great. I do want to try more dishes from this restaurant next time we visit. This restaurant is a great find. and their service is amazing. Alexis (not Alexa) was attentive and just fun. Food wise, four of us shared the calamari steak with fries. It's so tender, no knives were needed. I had the salmon ceviche, an appetizer that's big enough for an entree and delicious with capers. My husband enjoyed the seafood stew. I have been here twice, the first time was great. We talked about those poke nachos for weeks. The second time was not near as good, the nachos were, but I also ordered the crab cakes. This is my favorite restaurant in Coachella Valley. Whenever I stay from Palm Springs to Indio, I make a point of coming here. The food is fresh and preparations/combinations are amazing. Staff is friendly service is immaculate and they never make me feel bad or put me in a corner, though usually I come here alone. Service is just as attentive as every other table. Tonight I had a glass or Pinot Grigio, Caesar starter, pulpo and camarones over pesto risotto with a spicy sauce and chayote squash. It was soon well prepared and another delicious combo. Our server Gabriel was fantastic! He was super attentive and friendly, making sure our water was always filled and plates taken away as the table was a bit small. We ordered the las chorreadas, Carson's salmon ceviche, and the drunken shrimp. We were also offered a complimentary carrot soup and it was actually super tasty, creamy, and lightly spiced. The ceviche was my favorite dish of the meal. I personally love eating very sour ceviche but didn't mind that this one was only lightly sour. The fish itself was nicely cooked and paired super well with crackers. As for the shrimp and the tacos, the shrimp was a bit too sweet for my liking but the sauce itself went well with the rice. First visit, as they just opened this week. This is a family-owned restaurant which focuses on seafood and steaks. They also happen to own Oceana in Palm Desert, Salsa's Restaurant in Cathedral City, and Crudo in downtown Palm Springs. This family really knows how to do food and service right, as all of these places are wonderful. Being the first week for this location, there were some minor hiccups, but I'm certain that they'll be worked out in no time. Oceana has a modern, sleek décor and ambience. We were immediately greeted and seated by the hostess (she saw us walking down the sidewalk and opened the door for us). Alex was our waiter, and the service was good, including the other members of the service team. DRINKS: We started with a couple cocktails, a Triple Peach Margarita, Spicy Pomegranate Margarita, and a Fresas con Crema Margarita ($14/ea.). Well-made cocktails, very refreshing, and at a reasonable price. They have a decent wine list, and every Tuesday it's 50% off bottles. FOOD: We started by sharing the Banana Peppers appetizer ($16), which was delicious, and the 5 large, crab stuffed peppers were enough for a small group. For our entrees, we tried the Ahi Steak ($26), the Chipotle Shrimp ($26), and the Asian Pasta ($32). We also added an order of the Garlic Bread ($9), which was large enough for 4-6 people to share. Everything was well-seasoned and tasty. The Ahi Steak and Chipotle Shrimp were served with rice and potatoes, which I thought was a little odd (2 starches). The Asian Pasta was loaded with seafood. We had wanted to order the Scallops, however they were out, so we'll have to check those out next time. To finish off the evening, we tried the Bananas Foster Cheesecake and the Coconut Flan ($11 ea.) Overall, this is an excellent seafood and steak restaurant with very good cuisine and service with a smile. They're only going to be getting better and better as time goes on. Ate dinner here tonight because several friends and clients have recommended it to me. We live close by but never tried it. We came here on a whim and we LOVED it. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Alex was our server and even made some special cocktails for us that were amazing. We will definitely be back, also gonna try their Palm Desert location of the same name. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. Walking in the host was amazing let me look at the menu. Then once I was seated they brought out some jicama offered bread but we didn't want them. I got the grilled salmon bruschetta no cheese and it was so wonderful and fresh it brought up happy memories for me. A friend of ours set the reservation and he was in love with this seafood restaurant. This was his 4th time and my first, it was good, but there are places I would rather spend an evening. I will not complain about the service which is exceptional! Even before we needed something someone was there to give it to us or replace it...wow! The restaurant was everything you'd expect from a finer dining place, very nice. The entrees were good, the desserts however were a little disappointing. The coconut flan was a little more dense than typical and their "signature" dessert incorporated too much gelatin which gave it a weird texture. I would suggest they change it or improve it, either would work. Would I go again, most likely not, there are better places to go for $150 for two people for dinner. read more
