After hearing on discover oklahoma how good Cowboy Chicken was I ordered 2 sliced rotisserie turkeys for thanksgiving to be delivered to my house, which I paid an extra 20$ for delivery, thinking this would simplify my holiday cooking. When they arrived one was partially sliced (breast only) and the other one was not sliced at all, it was whole and not even completely covered in the pan. The turkeys were very very dry (choking dry) I couldn't even attempt to slice either one of them they were so bad.. So after spending $140 I had a little bit of breast meat from one turkey that no one ate because it was so dry. Also there were no plates, silverware or napkins which according to the receipt, was supposed to be included. I called and spoke with the manager Jeremy and after he figured out they (Cowboy Chicken) entered the order into their system incorrectly, he assured me he would call me back so I could get a refund. I felt they should have at least refunded half of the order. Needless to say Jeremy never has called me back which is what I figured would happen. Also FYI cowboy chicken is not the one that delivers your order, it is ezcater.com. When you place the order you have no idea that the delivery is being contracted out. Very deceiving. They tried to tell me I needed to contact ezcater, but ezcater was not the ones that got the order wrong, it was Cowboy Chicken, Warning, do not use Cowboy Chicken for catered food or any food in my opinion. I'm a big fan of rotisserie chicken. When I saw Cowboy Chicken, I thought it was a match made in heaven. I ordered the three piece dark and two sides. The Mac and cheese was incredible, but the chicken was not great... no seasoning. No flavor... ...as a matter of fact, of all the rotisserie chicken I have ever had, Cowboy Chicken was the worst. I really enjoyed the crispy drumsticks, crispy fritters, and okra. The chicken was nicely seasoned and prepared. The sweet tea is addicting! I really enjoyed their hot sauce and ranch dipping sauce. My wife had the dark meat and said it was nicely prepared. Her corn was a little bland and the french fries were nothing to brag about. Definitely recommend you try other sides instead. The smell of the chicken on the rotisserie before I even got inside made me twice as hungry. After I got inside I got more impressed with the menu. Great prices and some down home deserts. We came across this place after trying to go to other restaurants that were closed on Sunday. We had never heard of the place but thought we'd check it out. The menu is pretty straightforward. The half chicken plus sides was enough to share with one of our kids. It had a great smoky flavor. I ha d the chicken strips. They were a bit dry but with sauce they were still tasty. Started to get a take out salad at Salada but the line was stagnant, as usual. So went next door to Cowboy Chicken and boy was I surprised! I was greeted by friendly staff who offered suggestions and ended up ordering the fried chicken salad, which was amazing! Served with half an avocado and fresh tomatoes and red onion. The romaine was crisp and very fresh. It was topped with homemade ranch dressing which rivals any nice restaurant. I am a convert and will definitely be back to try more menu items. Overheard some people taking about this place at work so when I saw the sign I was excited about trying it. Ordered what was recommended which was the half white chicken with two sides. Chose the okra and twice baked potatoes. The chicken was well rotisserie chicken. Can't say the chicken was better than the chicken we get at our local Sprouts. In fact, was a bit dry. I had the half chicken platter with baked Mac-n-cheese and she had the quarter platter with baked Mac-n-cheese and cucumber/tomato salad. The man-n-cheese was a bland mix of canned cheese and pasta, the cucumber/tomato salad is like a salsa (seems to have been sitting). My plate arrived swimming in chicken blood. The server did her best to make it right, but when she returned with my "re-plate" it looked like the previous sides were scraped onto the new plate and served (the sides that were cross contaminated on the previous plate). After the owner's response that, "We [Cowboy Chicken] strive to offer a wide variety of dishes that are sure to please even the pickiest of palates..." I am certain I will never return. So I have been to the N OKC location on Penn and the Edmond location on Bryant. The food is really hit or miss at these locations. I blame this on staffing. If the right cooks are in the chicken is good, during the other shifts, I'm not sure if they don't salt the chicken like a new olive before cooking it. I have seriously had chicken so salty no one would eat it. Managers have been awesome and taken care of me when I have come in and they forgot to put my online order in. All in all, if you want a quick homestyle meal that does not look or feel like fast food this place will fit the bill. It has potential, but the result I keep getting are a mixed bag. read more

We made an online order here a while back and food is always good. Problem was, one of our sides was missing. Honestly, no big deal, I've worked in food service before and it happens. We called up, explained what happened and was told at the time that they would replace the side next time we came in and took our information. A month passes and we're craving them again and I called to ask about our side. It had been a while, I don't know who it was my husband talked to but they said without knowing, they couldn't honor it. While I understand, my frustration becomes that they wrote down our information. Every restaurant I have worked in (and there have been a lot) have always had a book or something in the managers office or somewhere by the register for these types of things. The turnover in restaurants is extremely high, so even if he called around to see if anyone remembered, the chances are low that they even would remember. I don't know why I didn't try this place sooner than today but don't make my mistake yours too. The chicken is as good as chicken can be and it forms the basis of everything here. The chicken is juicy and not salt ridden like the box store variety and has a nice crispy exterior. Chicken enchiladas are very good and a favorite of those who tried them. The side dishes we tried included the twice baked potatoes, mac and cheese, slaw and creamed spinach and everything was great. The peach cobbler makes a great end to your meal and did I mention their fresh baked rolls were a hit too. I really love Cowboy Chicken and their catering services for large groups is outstanding! They completely set up lunch for 12 people, including plates, flatware, cups and serving ware. They were right on time and very friendly, as well. I have used them twice now and the food is always hot and delicious and a great alternative to the usual ho-hum lunch fare. Only giving three stars because they do have good food. Service on the other hand is lacking. Ordered food and drink, showed up at the time they said it would be delivered; no drink. Called back at 1:10pm to let them know and was told it could either be refunded or brought out to me. Told them I would love to have it brought to me. Over an hour later, no drink. Wouldn't be so irritated had they literally been maybe four blocks from me. Have eaten here before but decided to order a meal for kids birthday. One and a half hours later we called multiple times to find out they never even made the food. This was after we had paid to have it and waited over an hour longer than it was supposed to take. The fact that nobody called or told us that they hadn't even made the food was disappointing. Very hard to explain to hungry kids on a birthday party. They've lost a lifelong customer. On the other end, their food is actually quite good even if it's a little on the pricey side. The quality is very good but the service absolutely is horrible. Someone did call me back to offer a half assed apology and sheepishly offered a refund. No kidding! Clean store. Counter person seemed to stumble just a bit when I asked him to "tell me about your restaurant.." but then got his feet under him and did a good job. The 1/4 chicken was really good. Great taste. The leftovers were a lil salty. Roll was ehhh. The slaw was definitely not for me... Dry as hell and various unidentifiable greens, sagebrush could have been one of them. Corn fritters were good and a nice different idea. A good idea but not pulled off to its potential. I think the were mass manufacturered and shipped out to stores. Very good peach cobbler that the lovely waitress handed out FOC. Overall, I'll go back and order some different items. I'm sure they'll hit the mark!!! read more

I had high hopes that this location would be as good as another that I've been to more than once, but it seems my food has gotten worse each time I've ordered (and I usually only order a salad).
