Two small super-tender (med-rare) filet mignons on a ciabatta slab, with onions and a sauce that's a great compliment! The food is not half bad. However the service at the bar is atrocious. I sat there for 10 minutes trying to get the bartender's attention. He just kept ignoring me, or he was deaf. After I got my food, I got no silverware. Did not even get a water refill. I won't be going back. read more

Awful. Just spent $20 for salmon with Brussels sprouts and potatoes. Brussels sprouts were overdone, potatoes were of cheap hotel breakfast buffet quality but greasier. No freshness. Salmon was unseasoned. Now I see why the location in Phoenix went bankrupt. read more

Definitely the only airport bar I've enjoyed in my life. I mean, I've been to fun airports and had fun times, but I've never heard Bernard Purdie, Evelyn Champagne King or Toro Y Moi, or anything at all that resembles music, let alone music that I carry around with me in my pocket. For real, I have 500 songs on my mp3 player ('08) and one of them is Hap'nin by Bernard Purdie (arguably the most sampled drummer of all time, really), so I was natutally excited to hear funky jams while drinking local IPA's despite plane delay. I forgot I was at the airport, and that's all that mattered to me at the time. Good chats with crazy folks from all over 'Merica, and amazingly swift and beyond competent service. These folks are trying, and they're winning. Decor ain't even that bad. All aces, even for a picky vegan from far away. You're lucky to be stranded in Phoenix if you end up here. read more

Considering how well reviewed this restaurant is, you would think they would know how to properly cook a flour tortilla, and not turn eggs into unseasoned hunks of rubber. The staff were very polite and very attentive, but the sad attempt at "Breakfast Enchiladas" I received for 15 bucks left me with a bad taste in my mouth, both figuratively and literally. Anytime i have a delay in the PHX airport, I trek over to the B gates to get some Cowboy C. The stetson salad is very good with a generous portion of salmon, and the open face steak sandwich is steakhouse goodness on a bun. The bread pudding is excellent with the right amount of sweet and a surprise bit of heat from some pepper flakes in the sauce. Definitely ask for TJ if it is your first time in. He will guide you based upon what you like and wont steer you wrong. In addition, they can get you in and out quickly if you are pressed for time. read more

They clean the tables and bar and rinse the rag with the same water they rinse the "clean" glass ware with. Nasty!!!!

I wonder when this place can get it right. My first time here a couple months ago I had a hard time ordering some food to go to the point the restaurant mgr got upset with the bartender. Today I stopped in for a beer. And I had to make about 5 choices before had to settle on a beer I don't drink. Out of Bud Light no keg on Sam Adams then the draft system is down. Really? Salad was good, service was great. Unfortunately the apple cobbler was not only expensive ($10), but a huge disappointment. If you're tempted by it, just pour three packets of sugar on a raw apple slice and you've got the idea. I'd give CC another chance, but will be avoiding the deserts. read more

Best food in Arizona this trip! The chips are fantastic, the burger the greatest, the mushroom polenta dish has our inner foodies going, the drinks lovely, the service by TJ beyond the call... Had the testosterone salad and it was really good. It's hard to mess up a salad but the beef that came with it was very tender and the salad itself was fresh and had the perfect ratio of blue cheese dressing which can be overwhelming if it isn't carefully added. Plus, it had potato chips which gave an extra crunch. I actually liked this place better than the restaurant I went to outside the airport. Customer service was also on point and they played cute, feel good 60-70s music. read more

I didn't like the name much, but the reviews sounded good. I had the Stetson Chopped Salad with smoked salmon. It was delicious!! The best chapped salad I have ever had! Arugula, dried currants, orzo, pumpkin seeds and smoked salmon with a pesto dressing. It also had air dried corn for color, flavor, and crunch. The mixture of flavors and textures was amazing. I hope I get back to the Phoenix airport again, soon! read more

I'm really leaniing more toward 3 1/2 stars. I ordered the (corn)nut crusted scallops and the bruschetta. The scallops were small (only 3 to an order this is definitely an appetizer not a meal) and the bruschetta large. I saw a lot of people ordering the salad. They said the dressing was really good. But the amount also looked rather puny. Better to order from the togo menu or try your luck somewhere else. 4 stars because it did taste good and it was clean and fast service. After a long day in airports -- and a pretty bad meal at a place in Mexico -- it was refreshing to have a decent meal here at AZ's airport! We were really close to choosing McD's when an airport working suggested we try Cowboy Caio, and I'm so glad we did. We had the open-faced steak sandwich, which was well flavored and cooked just the way I like it (med rare) atop a nicely grilled and buttered piece of bread. It came with kettle chips drizzled in bleu cheese, but because I wasn't a huge fan of the cheese, the waiter suggested I dip them in this pesto aioli that was yum! We also had a shared plate under the heading "Grazing" that turned out to be a huge dish. It was a green chile pappardelle concoction that sounded kinda weird at first but was surprisingly delicious. It kind of reminded me of tuna casserole... but in a good way if you can image that. The wine, beer and Bloody Mary list was pretty impressive, though they seemed to be running low on the white wine selections when we came in. All in all, I really enjoyed it and was happy to find it in the mess that can be airport food. read more

Nothing like the old town location. We've been eating at the old town location for years. The famous chopped salad is different with different dressing. Service was terrible. Greeted by rude host said I couldn't sit at table or booth. Strange won't return. read more
