I went here with three of my friends. It was about 30 minutes away from where we live and I had never been to the Liberty Center before. I was amazed. It was like a small city that I had never heard about. There were so many stores and restaurants all around. The atmosphere was amazing, there was a celebration in the square for Juneteenth and the live band and singers were wonderful. The food at Cowboy Sallys was delicious. I got the Coca-Cola Short Ribs and they were so good. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the short rib fell apart like butter. My friends each got a sandwich and they loved them. We ended the meal with dessert, their bread pudding and chocolate lava cake. They were both delicious, and the cake was nice and warm. Our server told us that the lava cake is supposed to come with ice cream and they ran out, so she took it off our bill which was very nice. While the service was very kind and welcoming, it was a little slow. Our server took a while to come to the table in the beginning and was somewhat absent during the dining experience. The host came over to take our order because she was busy. But they were both very nice when they did come to the table and chatted with us. Greeted by a gentleman that appeared to be the manager. Seated inside immediately. Decor is like a more subdued Agave & Rye. Lots of black, blue, darker colors, but nowhere near as macabre. Pleasant, though. We were given menus, cool, leather bound mini binders. (These are way different than other pics from earlier reviews) Really neat selection of house drinks (adult beverages) wide selection of Bourbons, whiskey and tequila. My wife got the Berry Naughty, (see menu pic for description) Evan waited on us. I ordered the Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich, Hickory-smoked pulled pork + Tangy Carolina gold BBQ sauce + Southern slaw + House pickles + Cowboy Crack Sauce + Buttered brioche with fries. It has coleslaw and their special Cowboy Crack sauce on it. The pulled pork was cooked well, huge amount of meat. Definitely not shredded, but pulled apart. A few chunks were at least 2" in length and about 1 1/4" wide. Also, it comes with a boq sauce already on it, besides their special sauce. My preference is the pork has no boq sauce on it but it's at the table to add if it's needed. But, gotta say this, HUGE amount of meat, and a tasty bun. Fries were good, but not spectacular or special. Their ketchup has some kick to it, so that was pretty neat. But, my taste buds were almost confused with the special sauce, the bbq sauce and then the ketchup. My wife ordered the Coca-Cola Braised Short Rib Slow-braised short rib + Coca-Cola reduction + Buttery whipped potatoes + Smothered green beans + Crispy tobacco onions. Next time I may order that. I tasted the meat and mashed potatoes, yeh, really yummy! All in all, a good night, really good service, not too noisy, nice decor (several lights looked burnt out in a corner chandelier and a a dark evening, it would be difficult to see a menu. TBH the reviews had us concerned but we had to check it out for ourselves and this place was great!! Alexis our server was amazing with great suggestions and we started with The Smokeshow (smokey old fashioned) and a beer. Presentation was great with the Bourbon drink and we went in with the crispy egg rolls and they were very tasty. The Chili Molasses Brisket and Coca Cola Braised Short Ribs were awesome. Brussel Sprouts were cooked perfectly and plenty of creamy mashed potatoes per order. For dessert we went back to the appetizers and had the Hot Honey Corn Bread. That was da bomb! First we called to move our reservation back, and that was handled by Nick with no issues. The menu is uniquely presented. Kristin, bartender and our server is amazing. She made wonderful menu suggestions and made us feel like we were friends not customers. The pimento cheese dip is delicious. The deviled eggs are great too, adding sweet corn and pimento is fun. My family went here for some brunch on a Sunday around noon. Not too crowded. Our server was Kristin, she took very good care of us and explained some of the menu items. We sat inside and still had lots of views outside very open with lots of windows. We started off with two orders of Beignets one with chocolate sauce the other with raspberry sauce, both were delicious and complimented each other. For our mains I had the southern slap, very unique southern twist on the egg sandwich it was delicious and the roasted potatoes that came with it could be a main by themselves. My wife had the Sunday sinner, she said it was fluffy and delicious. Others in our group had The Belle & The Brine, Shortcake Honey and Pour Some Creme Brulee on Me. Everyone loved their food. We have been to dinner a couple of times and they were either decent or really good. I decided to try their breakfast and I was let down. I ordered the Nashville chicken biscuit. When looking at my plate, I was pretty impressing by the size of the chicken and the visual texture of the fried breading and the cowboy potatoes. That's about it for positives. It was supposed to be on a honey butter biscuit, when I tasted it there was no honey butter and it tasted just like a KFC biscuit, I'm not joking. There was nothing Nashville about that chicken. It was breaded, fried, just a dash of dry rub and that's it. I had to add a lot of hot sauce. The potatoes had so much potential, I enjoyed the crispiness of it but there was no seasoning. Not even salt and pepper and there weren't any on the table. I asked the waitress for some and she forgot and I would rather eat warm unseasoned food than cold salt+pepper food trying to wait to ask again. Their eggs were good at least. My husband had their French toast with the apples on the side and his critique was that they were soggy and was going to crisp them up when he got home. Came to this restaurant for restaurant week and I literally have no complaints. 10s across the board for the decor, the food, the service and the staff. We ordered Pepper Jack & Hot Honey Cornbread, Crispy Brussels & Bacon, Blackened Salmon, Spicy Chicken Penne, Texas Bourbon Bread Pudding and Key Lime Pie. Everything was delicious and came out in a timely manner. The drinks we ordered were fantastic my favorite was the Texas Spiked Tea. There was a manger or owner walking around making sure everyone enjoyed their food and providing things you might night think you need (like extra sauce for the pasta for when you take it home). We love a good bbq- it's pure comfort. Sadly- this was not it. We ordered via DoorDash: pulled pork, hot honey butter pepper jack cornbread, Mac n cheese & nana (banana) pudding. The pulled pork was good- so were the house pickles and pickled onions. The sauces were rough. I'm a Carolina gold kind of gal- I love a nice tangy mustard bbq sauce & my hubby likes a sweet or Smokey bbq. The gold bbq smelled like honey mustard salad dressing with some vinegar added to it. The bbq was tomatoey with a heap of garlic. Not great. The Mac n cheese- congealed is the best way to describe it. There were globs of clear jelly looking chunks in it- (see picture) I took a cavatapi noodle from the top and oddly it tasted like kielbasa?? It tasted meaty- no cheese flavor-no creaminess- but it's vegetarian? I had the highest hopes for the cornbread. It sounded so good. While cornbread can be dense- these were heavy dry bricks. With a title of hot honey butter pepper jack cornbread- I tasted none of that. There were some scallions on the bottom. Know how corn tastes right from the can? Slightly metallic? That's what this tasted like. Nana pudding. The pudding portion tasted so much of preservatives. It had some banana pieces in it, wafers, whipped cream and some caramel. I hate to say that It just wasn't good - other than the plain pulled pork/house pickles/pickled onions. It's why we gave 2 stars. We had a great experience! Nick greeted us at the door, seated us, and Evan took it from there. Great service and delicious food. We had the crispy Brussel sprouts for an appetizer and loved them. They were seasoned with bacon and the mustard based sauce complimented them perfectly. I had the brisket platter and my husband had the pimento cheeseburger. We enjoyed both entrees. I will say that the cornbread was a standout for me. It was more like cake in texture with a sweet butter melting over the top. Went to Cowboy Sally's for the first time. The southern selection of food sounded great. The menu is so cute. It looks like a journal. I decided to try a drink. I'm a sucker for anything watermelon so I tried the watermelon crawl. I had a hard time tasting the watermelon. The drink tasted more like cranberry juice. It was ok but not what I hoped for. I decided to try the crispy Brussels and bacon. The first bite had such a strong acidic punch. The menu didn't list vinegar but I could taste it. They were ok just not the best I've had. For my dinner I had the Coke a cola braised short ribs and they definitely were amazing. They had the best flavor and cooked to perfection. Served with mashed potato's and green beans with fried onion. The meal was so worth ordering. My boyfriend really wanted to try the cornbread pot pie. Unfortunately they were out of it. He got the catfish instead which was ok. The cornbread it came with was excellent. The side mac and cheese was ok. Not as good as I was hoping. I ordered a class of water with my drink and the water there is horrible. I'm sure it's the filtering but I hate that after taste from it. Our server did a great job. The staff was welcoming. I wish we had room to try dessert but didn't. I'd like to go back for brunch sometime. That menu looked great. This location was surprisingly empty on a Friday night at 7:30 PM, but I was extremely happy to find it that way, as we grabbed a quick bite to eat. Plenty of TVs to check out March madness if that's your thing. The bar looks great and there were plenty of drink specials, though I didn't have a beverage outside of water. The service was a little slow, but the meal was reasonably well paced. I really enjoyed my food. Specifically, the load of potato skins are a must try with the perfect amount of toppings and really delicious. I also enjoyed the chop salad and was happy. They could replace the chicken with smoked turkey, which was very flavorful. Cornbread was a hit. I would actually buy a pan of that for an event. Cowboy Sally's is relatively new to Liberty Center, you know I had to try it out. Me and my gf walked in on karaoke night accidentally. As funny and entertaining as it was, the restaurant is small, so we never really got a break from hearing it. Our server was nice, she was a little too attentive, give us some space! Haha. She also recommended the brisket sandwhich, which came out like dry woodchips. Not any flavor. The fries and the orange sauce were good. We had a fantastic time here. Our server, Paul, was phenomenal. He was very attentive and so much fun. All the food was delicious, except for the "tofu burnt ends". If I hadn't had them before, it would've been fine, but they were not the same as they were before and definitely not at all similar to burnt ends. The corn bread was the highlight for me. Stopped to get lunch at Cowboys Sally's on a whim. We ordered the pimento cheese dip which was very delicious and the chips were very light and crispy. It's reminded me of something but I couldn't put my finger on it. My mom loved the bacon and Brussels. It was very sweet. The decor of the place had a really fun vibe . My husband and I were really excited to try this restaurant after seeing the reviews and the menu. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. Server was great. It is very loud in the restaurant and she did a great job of making sure my husband could hear her. She also gave us recommendations, when asked. We started with the brisket egg rolls, which were very good. Two large rolls with a lot of meat inside. For dinner, we ordered the burnt ends plate with brussel sprouts and the hatch chile casserole and the brisket with the mac and cheese and baked beans. Unfortunately, everything came out lukewarm. Burnt ends were slathered in bbq sauce. Some pieces were good but most were small, dry bits. Mac and cheese may have been good if it was warmer. Baked beans were very soupy and required a spoon to eat, which is not provided on the table. My husband then ordered the wings with the dry rub. Out came 6 very small wings (for $12) that were dry. Hopefully more time will help them get things figured out. The menu looks very good, just wasn't able to execute. read more

Was invited to their soft opening event, giving me the chance to dine there before the grand opening rush. The restaurant has a really cute and cozy southen vibe, where servers even bartender have their cowboy hat on! Ordered their smokey wings, waffle fries, and giddy-up cocktail. I absolutely love their seasoned waffle fries! It's tasted a little like steak-n-shake's fry seasoning with a little kick to it. Kinda like Cajun fries. I actually love this more than cfa's waffle fries. The only downside would be that the portion was kinda small.. made me sad when they were all gone. Their smokey wings were alright, not as moist and tender as I would hope for. Giddy-up cocktail was on the tangy side, which wasn't to my liking as I prefer a sweeter cocktail. The waitress was really sweet and nice, she offered me offered me a shot of their blackberry daiquiri slush, after knowing that I preferred a sweeter cocktail. Got to say that slush was totally up my alley. Since I came during lunch and had to get back to work, I didn't get a chance to try their brisket. My girlfriend and I came here for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. The environment was very colorful and unique looking but it seemed a little stuffy to me like the air conditioning wasn't working properly. I ordered the Pulled Pork platter with sides of Bangin' Mac n Cheese and Pit Beans. The order came with a slice of cornbread. My girlfriend got the Cowboy Sally BBQ chicken sandwich with a side of Pineapple Lime Slaw. The service was decent and we received our orders in a reasonable time. The pulled pork in my platter was dry and hard. Some pieces stuck together and were very hard to tear apart with a fork. It wasn't very flavorful and was pretty lackluster. The pit beans were baked beans and were okay but underwhelming. The Bangin' Mac n Cheese was really good. The only really good thing on the platter. The cornbread was good too. My girlfriend said the sauce on her BBQ chicken sandwich was good but it was really big and hard to handle with her hands. She said the Pineapple Lime Slaw was kind of dry. It wasn't creamy like most cole slaw type dishes. Additionally, knives were not provided which was kind of strange. When one of the personnel asked us about how things were, I mentioned my pulled pork was dry and hard to cut and I didn't understand why a knife wasn't provided. Also, it would've helped if my girlfriend had a knife to cut her sandwich in half. He said some customers had been throwing the knives (I assume the customers were probably rowdy and/or drunk) and knives were provided only upon request. Nowhere on the menu or in the establishment is this mentioned. This restaurant has potential to be good. It's got a decent atmosphere, the presentation of the dishes are good, and the wait time on the orders is not bad. However, I cannot recommend because the quality of the pulled pork is not acceptable. I also question the unavailability of essential utensils. I've had pulled pork in a lot of places from St Louis to Alabama. This is supposed to be Texas-style barbecue I believe. I don't think most Texans would approve. read more

My hubby and I visited Cowboy Sally's for the first time a couple of month ago as part of a Yelp event and was totally blown away - giving 5 stars in a heartbeat.. Unfortunately the magic of our first visit had lost its spark... It was pretty crowded when we arrived on a Saturday evening. Expected. After an about 30 min we were seated next to the Karaoke stage. It was so super loud since one or the speaker was right next to our table. Honestly - I don't think tables should be so close to the stage - simply because it makes a conversation impossible. We had to shout at each other.... The food was delicious when it arrived - but... the table was way to small for the 5 of us - we had to put the tray with bbq sauces on the floor, not even a speck of room for the paper towel roll and the worst of it... we had no silverware.... After reminding our waitress several times and already having to use our fingers for the food on the table - she gave us pre packed plastic ware saying they were out of regular one - promising she would bring some as soonest she could get her hands on it. She did bring forks - after we were half way through our dinner. We paid over $120 for our food and having to eat most of it with our hands because the restaurant runs out is unacceptable. It's cozy , and great for cowboys. The Mac and cheese and Brussels were perfect . I would have liked my chicken cooked a little longer. The best part is they have DORA, so if you don't finish your food you can take your drink which is a plus. The service was good , and it smelled delicious. I expected very little out of a BBQ place in an overgrown strip mall. I was amazed. The cocktail was better than expected, tried the fried deviled eggs which were really good! The ribs and the burnt end sandwiches were both better than expected, and I just can't get over the amount of food for the price - good food! The ribs came with two sides (sides were ok. Nothing amazing there, but good) and cornbread for i think $23? Leftovers for another meal. The ribs themselves were very meaty and tender! I was really surprised at the quality of the food. Cowboy Sally's is a great addition to the restaurants at Liberty Center. From its exterior to its interior the vibe is funky and artistic. You'll notice the large full service bar as you walk in. They serve Texas Style BBQ and sides. We had the burnt ends plate and the brisket plate. The BBQ was good, however the side dishes were all excellent and yummy. There is an array of sauces to choose from and a playful addition is the robot that skims around delivering food. read more

I tried the Cowboy Double Stack Crack Burger and it was amazing. I really wanted the Brisket but wasn't available as we were there on Memorial Day. My wife tried the fried chicken salad with a pear dressing and she equally found it to be delicious. My only complaint would be that their fries are extremely salty and I just couldn't eat them. Very proud to give Cowboy Sally's their 6th review. I have been coming to this location for years. Bittersweet, the previous restaurant closed but in comes CS. Very similar style restaurants with BBQ flare. CS just opened last Wednesday so they are still working out the kinks. I could tell how the operation was flowing they were newer, however over thought they did pretty good for being open 1 week. I was able to meet the GM Rebecca, and she knew what was going on. She has high energy and very friendly and interactive with her customers. I ordered brisket sliders with a side of brussels sprouts. I also added a side of burnt ends since I wanted to try those as well. I ended up getting a side of brisket with my brisket sliders so obviously an oh moment however Rebecca made it right and my burnt ends was delivered fairly quick. the food has pretty good flavor. I will say there was a lot of people in this restaurant for only being open one week. Of course, my observation is because it is new, everyone wants to give it a try. It is my belief there will be some returning customers here. They were having karaoke starting at 8 o'clock, but of course that is not my style. The first singer, though was pretty good. The establishment plans on offering catering once they get their feet underneath them, which is a good option for any local businesses that want to bring in food. It is for me to give four stars right out of the gate but I feel this place deserves it. If you live in the area or are traveling, I would recommend stopping in and giving this place a try. Liberty needs a BBQ place but Cowboy Sally is going to struggle to be that place. Service: 5 Stars. Our server was extremely knowledgable and friendly. Food: 3.5 Stars. We got the brisket sliders. The toppings are delightful and certainly enhance the brisket. Unfortunately though the brisket was a bit dry. For our "fixin's" we got the Texas Beans, Cornbread, Bangin Mac and Cheese, and the Bacon and Brussels. The beans were below average. I've had better out of a can. The cornbread was okay and could use a heavy dose of jalapeños, the Brussels were tasty, and the Mac and cheese were the highlight of dinner. Ambience: 3.5 stars. It's a country themed BBQ restaurant. But they have a robot that delivers food. Odd. Also, when paying for the meal they show you your order on a small tablet that the waiter carriers around. Even more odd. I guess they're trying to save on receipt paper?? They do have karaoke so that was a fun twist. Overall, Cowboy Sallys has great potential.
