Last year, we ate here and we couldn't believe how wonderful it was. We eagerly came back here this year and the exact same items (the scallops and the poke bowl) had similar ingredients, but the presentation was totally different. This time the scallops were smaller, cooked well done, yet had absolutely no caramelization. There was hardly any cauliflower purée and the Brussel sprouts were kind of hard and chewy. 3 of us had the scallops, and we all felt the same - that last years plates looked better, the scallops themselves were larger and better cooked. Found this little gem on yelp and took my mother in law here for lunch. The ambience is wonderful jazz music plays in the background the booths were very comfortable. I had the curry chicken salad and gumbo soup both were absolutely amazing. My mother in law had the beet and goat cheese salad and my husband had the fried chicken sandwich with waffle sweet potato fries all we're so flavorful and delish. I never leave reviews but guys, please save your money. This place was super average...To the point where I wanted to stop the next person from coming in as we were leaving. Our service was great, so no problems there. We started with the guac with potato scoops. The scoops were good, the guac looked like a heavy green paste you'd get at Fred Meyer served with two discolored limes. Wasn't terrible however but mega average. Drinks were also average. I ordered a margarita, served with the aforementioned discolored lime again. ( yes they taste off as well). My friend ordered the "simply vanilla" which tasted like it sounds..well, she mentioned how it also tasted like a churro.. so take that how you will. The main courses, yikes. We were recommended Spasta Pesto and Steak Risotto. She got the pesto I ordered the 14oz steak. Ug. The steak, was prepared ok I suppose, the "white cheddar smashed potatoes" were luke warm and flavorless, vegetable medley was uninspired and flavorless as well. (also a watery finish) The steak also had zero flavor and tasted like something any random roommate threw on a grille... this is a $44 dish, mind you. The Spasta Pesto.. I'll just say it.. take it off the menu. It was disgusting. Wet, no flavor bizarre texture, and amateur...Like something you'd concoct with week old leftovers. The shape was cool though. We didn't make a fuss about our food, ( it's not the server's fault, they don't need that stress, and it was busy) we did laugh about it however, after asking for salt, pepper, and A-1. Thank God for A-1, sorta saved my meal, but her Pesto you couldn't save, sadly. Anyway. Maybe it was a fluke, and maybe we got the wrong menu items but guys I beg you, be aware... this place is overrated.. ( at least at the moment). read more

The back of the restaurant should be improved. Those prices don't warrant a view of the kitchen. Very noisy; as are most restaurant in the area. The food is somewhat pretentious and does not justify the price. All meat and seafood was excellent, but I could do without raw vegetables passed quickly over a flame. Service is great and responsive to complaints. Don't order a cocktail- martini glasses are very small and the margarita I ordered was awful. I just don't get it. We drive by all the time and see the parking lot full. We've tried this place 3 times and are completely confused. Servers and hosts have always been friendly but the food is just not that good. And doesn't match the price for sure. I mean, scoop fries with guacamole instead of chips? Guacamole and fries? Salads are good, the Yuzu Kale Is like a garden in your mouth. The Halibut is very good. Our first trip to Coyne's and it won't be our last. Highly recommend the guacamole with potato scoops. The bar was quick to get drinks to the table. Our server - Carla (?) - was exceptionally attentive despite the full patio. My husband said his herb roasted chicken was perfect. I had the poke bowl - and this is where they lose a star. Everything about the poke bowl was fabulous except the rice (which is an important part of that dish). The rice was perhaps Minute Rice or something similar - texture and taste of cardboard. Not what you'd expect from an establishment such as this. If they get a better quality rice, I'd order that bowl again in a heartbeat. read more

1st visit was very good. I will definitely come back. The happy hour had many good options for both food and drink. I ordered the "Here and Now" for my first drink. It was very good. A bit sweet for my personal taste, but very good. There was a really good smoky earthiness to the cocktail. My server recommended I try the Tempura Vegetables from the Happy Hour Menu.... Had late lunch on the patio there on Friday 8/7.... We had the poke nachos as an app. I had the cheeseburger and my wife had the Butlers Steak Risotto. Both were really delicious. Even though cooked correctly, The internal temperature on my cheeseburger was almost like it sat and cooled while they finished my wife's meal. Went in last week for a date night and was not disappointed. We had reservations, so we were seated right away and greeted by our server. We started with the Coyne's salad which was very good, we enjoyed the pistachios in it. My husband ordered the short rib Colorado which was fabulous! I will be ordering that next time, it was filled with so much flavor! I had the halibut with lemon rossotto. The fish had a mild light flavor but was cooked well and the rossotto was very good. Reminds me a lot of Eagles other new restaurant, Crave. There are a couple of good dishes, but most lack flavor and aren't something I would order again. I got the arctic char with rice and veggies. Thank goodness there was rice and veggies. The fish was so dry it was not even edible. In addition it had a very funky flavor, almost like it was on the verge of going bad. It was gross and a waste of $34. Someone in our party got the Mediterranean steak salad. They emphasized that they wanted the steak well well done. No pink whatsoever. The waiter rudely interrupted and said the steak was on kabobs. What that has to do with anything is beyond me. Low and behold the steak was NOT well done. Another uneaten meal. There was no talking to the waiter as he never came back except to bring our checks and take quite a few full plates away.
