Giving a 4-star rating as our dinner was exceptional!!! However, our Waiter, who is listed as 'Server C' on our bill, never provided his name, was extremely rude and discourteous. He also listed Guest Count as 2 on our bill, when there was 3, wondering if he did this so when a bad review comes back, it would not be tracked back to him. Any questions we asked about the menu, were answered in a very curt and discourteous manner. We have always had exceptional service at Coyne's so this was surprising to get someone who was so unprofessional and had poor customer service skills. Had the Mole Braised Short rib. Two pieces of meat with one piece basically all fat. Presentation was a 10 but overall enjoyment of the dish was a 6 out of 10. Mash potatoes were luke warm bordering on cold and the meat was just ok. I would not get this dish again. Beautiful restaurant though. Maybe just having trouble finding good cooks on this day and age. My neighbor Kathy has told me about Coyne's several times. Her description of these lady get-togethers for lunch or happy hour wine/book club discussions sounded "to die for". So Coyne's was on my radar but it had to be just the right time to celebrate, Sunday was that day. My mom's home closed and we met with our realtor to celebrate the momentous occasion. I made reservations about a week before for 5 at 5 p.m. this past Sunday. We arrived about fifteen minutes early and were promptly greeted and given the option to either wait or be seated. We decided to be seated and wait for our guest to arrive. We were introduced to Sierra and quickly bonded with our group especially letting us know that we had about fifteen minutes left to attack the happy hour drink menu. I ordered a Curious George for my brother and I ordered a Mexcal You Later. The Curious George is a rambunctious cocktail with Coyne's private-label vodka, Bardenay Banana liqueur, Domaine de Canton, and lemon served on the rocks. When my brother took his first swallow, he indeed made a mischievous Curious George face. All that was missing was the man in the yellow hat. My Mexcal You Later is a Smokey! Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, pineapple, lime, cinnamon-vanilla kiss on the rim served straight up. It reminded me of my first kiss with my now Latina wife. fiery, passionate, and full of spirit. It's a kiss that I have yet to forget. We ordered Guacamole with lightly fried salt potato scoops as well as Butter Leaf Wedge, a bowl of Chicken Gumbo, and two orders of Flautus Poblano. All of them were flavorful and plated with care. My brother ordered the Prime Short Rib Colorado and my mom ordered the Fig & Duxelles Burger while I ordered Spasta Pesto. My brother raved about his chile braised prime short rib He swapped out extra vegetables in lieu of the rosemary mashed potatoes and devoured every morsel. My mom had her first forey with American Wagyu beef and enjoyed the unique marble and taste with the pairing of mushroom duxelles, and bacon fig jam. My Spasta Pesto was EPIC. Mixed fresh vegetables sauteed in pistachio pesto were perched above an island nest of roasted spaghetti squash surrounded by a sea of fresh tomato sauce. One of the best restaurant vegan dishes I have ever had the pleasure of eating. After a couple of old fashions and Mezcal You Laters, it was time for dessert. Churro Waffle cannot be missed. It is a tempura Belgium chocolate chip waffle tossed in cinnamon sugar, and regally topped with vanilla ice cream, caramel, and chocolate. Lavishly regal to describe the Churro Waffle is an understatement. The Creme Brulee looks amazing and while it was perfectly executed it was the most disappointing plate of the night. The fresh berries were over-the-top tart and sour but the vanilla bean custard is not far from being Paris-acceptable. Our Coyne's experience was amazing. It was bittersweet, laugh-out-loud fun, and truly was a dinner to remember. I want to thank Sierra, the kitchen team, and the management staff at Coyne's for making our visit one for the record books. Waiting 55 minutes to receive our meal is simply unacceptable. Our party arrived after the lunch rush, yet service was extremely slow. After our waitress brought our water, it took another 20 minutes before she returned to take our order. I had planned to order lunch, but ultimately decided that this level of service didn't deserve our support. What makes this even more disappointing is that Coyne's wasn't particularly busy. This has always been one of our favorite restaurants in the Treasure Valley, which makes the experience even more disheartening. Steak and eggs, pancakes, French toast. Our server came around 1 time after order was put in to refill drinks. Didn't see her after that till our order is on the way and to tell us that kitchen is backed up because they were busy. But, other tables got their food quicker. No manager came around. Wife and I have dined at Coyne's three times now. She loves the Curry Chicken salad it's her go-to meal. I've had the Butlers Steak and Eggs twice. The first time it was amazing, but the second time my steak was way over cooked, I asked for medium but it was extra well done. I don't like to send food back so I ate it but was disappointed. The service is always great including at the bar top. I think if I order a steak again, I'll ask for medium-rare since I can't get that first steak out of my head. read more

This place is incredible. Love coming here for brunch (I swear by the Bourbon Caramel French toast) and they have a killer happy hour. Love the food go all the time, but the service from our waiter was insulting, beyond everything, had to find him to take our order, he said our fish tacos were fish they were not he lied, then we had to get some one to find him to bring our check, when we tipped him ten percent he was rude and asked us why we tipped only 10% we started to say he never came to out table to see if we needed or wanted anything. The flautas come with a large serving of poblano crema that tastes amazing in everything (even the sweet potato fries), it should come standard with everything. We sat outside, the area is large and screened in, overhead heaters and a large fireplace keep it very warm. Music was a little loud, but ok. We came here last Sunday for brunch and had a great experience. We made reservations which I would highly recommend because last weekend this place was packed on Sunday afternoon. We were sat outside on their very spacious patio and loved the outdoor vibe of the area. The food was absolutely fantastic and everyone loved what they decided on. My breakfast chimichanga was absolutely delicious! Stuffed full scrambled eggs, spicy black beans, chorizo, pepperjack cheese and hash browns rolled in a flour tortilla, flash-fried and finished with sour cream, green onions and pickled jalapenos - sauced with salsa verde. Ambiance, service, and food were really good. This was our first visit and went with a group of friends. The drink menu and wine list are solid, most of the table had rose which paired well with their food. I had an old fashioned which was made perfectly (not everyone knows how to make a good one!) The complimentary bread and butter is really good, nice size rolls with a flavored butter (rosemary and garlic?). We ordered the guacamole for an app, not bad but a bit odd with the potato like crisps, didn't hate it, won't order again. Entrees prevented a rating of 5. I ordered the halibut and got about 4oz on about a pound of risotto (which was great). Just too small of a portion to charge $43. Another friend had the wagyu ribeye and had to send back due to it being over cooked (asked for mid rare, got medium so order down to be safe!) Upscale dining, great food, good variety of menu options. I started with a cocktail (can't remember the name), whiskey, cinnamon, vanilla, couple other things. I appreciate that the menu specified how it would be served, big rock, served up, etc. I thought my cocktail being served up would be more whiskey forward but the whiskey was drowned out by the other flavors. It was alright, looked great, but nothing spectacular. Lots of good food options on the menu across the board from sandwiches and hamburgers, to steak and Peruvian chicken. I ended up going with the mushroom risotto, it came with a flat iron steak and grilled asparagus. Flat iron steak was the best part, very tender and flavorful. The risotto was prepared well but just a bit salty. We also got a chicken gumbo as an appetizer which was delicious. Peanut butter in the sauce is entrigueing but great combination. Chicken was tender and the sauce was like a thick gravy. Also got an old Rasputin beer, they have it on nitro, great beer option. We were sat outside around 7:30 pm, it was still quite hot out and the flies were pretty active around our table. Some tables had fly spinning things to keep the flies away but we did not. Service was the highlight of this spot. Appetizers were a close second. Had the ahi tuna napoleon. Came piled high with top quality ahi tuna, cucumber, avocado and pineapple. Also tried the guacamole, which was great. Came with potato crisps, which were crisp on the outside and pillowy on the inside. Main course was a big disappointment. Beef tenderloin was small and very tough. Broccoli that came with it was charted to the point of it being not edible. Pretty sad Huckleberry cheesecake was decent for dessert read more

We tipped generously as we paid the bill because while the food may have been poor and the service processes may have been constipated the individual server deserved a 30% gratuity for her genuine care about the lousy dining experience when she apologized and offered to reduce the bill (we declined her offer but nice of her to do) then asked for and listened to (in an interactive way of Q&A dialogue) to constructive feedback. We said we were surprised to have her reach out to ask as we didn't offer our criticisms but we also didn't finish the food and she observed it seemed we had not enjoyed it. No, we did not. She said, "I want to share with the kitchen so they can learn from this.". She said she hoped we would come back and give Coyne's another try because, "We CAN do better." We won't rush back but we will go back sometime because of the server's guest recovery, as it's known in the business, efforts. Brava to her! She worked like she owned the business and that diner satisfaction was her highest priority. I mean both of those observations as high praise. And she used the word "WE" in describing how the restaurant could do better. She did not use "THEY" to throw the kitchen under the bus. (Although, it was mediocrity there at root of the poor meal.) I worked in this industry a long time ago and were I still doing that I'd hire this young woman and use her as team building training model. If I owned a local restaurant I would "poach" her and pay her a hiring bonus. FOOD ISSUES: As for the food, nope, not a single thing to emulate. Then again, this 2020 opened eatery (owned by the same people as Bardenay) has had something of a revolving door of Chef in its' year plus of existence and it might even be as I share about our six'ish weeks old experience that things with food have improved even now. Staff instability in kitchens is a big quality problem and a poor chef the biggest problem. The low end of mediocre food and long delays from kitchen need attention and a good chef should be able to do that and and train staff. Not to mention fix things like starter items with Denny's league errors that should never have made it past the kitchen quality check. PROCESS SNAFU: But so does the process of using runners to deliver food resulting in the wrong items delivered when the kitchen fills the main dish order incorrectly need attention. The runner ought to catch it if they're filling in for server. Then in everything thing being connected in poor process, it should not take a very long time for kitchen to produce the right replacement dish which looks nothing like described on menu when it reaches the table. Given experienced restaurant ownership the process problems here are puzzling. NEW BUILDING / FAMILIAR MENU / HIGH SIDE PRICE: Yet the new building with a sort of "Bardenay meets Country Club set" interior (well tended for being spotless) with big patio (where we would have sat were it not a 100 degree scorcher day) and early Happy Hour specials (for those of us like us who sometimes do HH as dinner) and a familiar food menu (example; burgers, tacos, sandwiches, salads, rotisserie chicken, salmon, shellfish, steak...) seem to have made this popular with locals even at these price points ($8-$16 starters and salads, $14 - $19 burgers and sandwiches, $17 - $48 mains). So we may be the minority but we expect better quality at these price points. Different strokes... LIBATIONS: Full bar. LOCATION: Convenient location accessible off of State Street or Eagle Road and just across the parking lot of the relatively newly built Homewood Suites in Eagle. (My husband has a theory that restaurants sharing lots with chain hotels are typically marginal for food and he observed our experience here supported his view.) ACCESSIBILITY: ADA parking in lot. All on one level. Standard height tables in dining room and on patio. But for a restaurant opened in 2020, 30 years post ADA as law of the land, it is unacceptable that they fail ADA compliance for seating in the bar. All bar seating is high perch tables and the ADA requires IF seating is provided in bar space THEN some seating in in the bar space must be accessible height, AKA standard table height or else it segregates out disabled people from equal access to participate there with others. There were four disabled persons (walkers, crutches, cane) on the evening we were there dining with groups of able bodied others. None of us could use the bar because of the lack of accessible seating. read more

I wish I could leave zero stars. Just left brunch there and out of our 4 top party, all plates were less than warm bordering cold, and one breakfast came with a large gray hair in her food. Let's be real, that spoiled her appetite. We brought it to the waitresses attention and she replaced the food (without being asked), but unfortunately what was done was done and we were charged for her uneaten plate. To top it off, the table next to us was allowed to have a large snake wrapped around the patrons neck. To the point that he is giving the snake water from his glass. I recently visited Coyne's for an early dinner. I relied on Krysti K for recommendations throughout my meal and she did not disappoint. Her suggestions were spot on! I started with the seasonal cocktail I Would Rum 5000 Miles and the Lobster Fritters. My plan was to sample 2-3 fritters as an appetizer, but I cleaned the plate. The Macadamia Nut Crusted Halibut was absolutely delicious and it's easy to see why it's a customer favorite. The Huckleberry Cheesecake was a lovely way to end the meal. Krysti enhanced my experience by providing great service. Coyne's has a contemporary vibe and while I sat inside the large patio was clearly a popular spot. All in all it was a memorable meal that I would happily order again - it was really that good! Kudos to all! read more

This restaurant was recommended to me by a local realtor after looking at some properties in the area. She has become my favorite friend in Idaho! No joke. The establishment is elegant and professional. I could see many business meetings here in my future. The service was top notch and the food was delectable. We started with the guacamole which is served with scoop style potato fries. This was a first for me and quite delicious. We also ordered the sweet potato fries because, well... I wanted to try some of my go-to sides to order. I've found that if they can get the simple things right, we're off to a promising experience. I was right! The starters were tasty and so my hope was growing. For our entrees we ordered the shrimp tacos and chicken flautas. Both were mouthwatering! The shrimp were plump, flavorful and perfectly seasoned. I was impressed with the amount of shrimp in each taco and how perfectly cooked they were. The flautas were great as well. The sauce for dipping was the best! Wife and I had dinner here. From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. Great atmosphere for dinner and conversation. Drinks were make with care, tasted great, but little pricey for the size. Waitress staff worked together well, and remembered requests. Menu has lots of great choices. I would recommend the fish tacos for appetizers, either the Rib Ragu, Glazed Pork Chop, or the 14oz Rib-eye. Now dessert was a toss up and we decided on the Churro Waffle with Ice Cream.
