I called ahead to make an appointment, verified they worked on vintage cars and carburetors. My car…read morewas running rich and kept stalling, so I knew at the very least the carb needed to be looked at. The girl who answered the phone wasn't exactly friendly, but wasn't exactly rude either. I figure they were just busy. I dropped my car off in the AM and the dude who took my keys gave me no name or paperwork. When I had not heard anything by 1pm I called and spoke to the same girl who apologized they were super busy. By 4:30 I called to see if they looked at it. Nope. They wanted to keep my car - which I was ok with only if they could lock it up inside. Next day I call at 1. Have not looked at it yet. Then I called at 4. They looked at it and recommend I replace the carb with a different brand. Why? That car was Dyno tuned for that specific carb and engine set up not even 100 miles ago and it was running ok. Why replace? Because it's leaking. Replace? Not a rebuild? What is leaking? The seal or the O-rings? I was told Holley carbs are leaky (they can be) I went and picked up my car, because red flags were raised. First off, why am I constantly having to call for info? I've done that job. The shop is supposed to keep the customer updated. Not make them call in constantly. When I went to get my car they only charged $75 to look at it and I met Brooklyn, the girl I kept talking to. I asked her some more questions and she went to talk to the mechanic - who never came to talk to me. Again they recommended a carb replacement with Edelbrock, the mechanic's preferred carb. (I happen to have one at home. Took it off the Camaro because I didn't like the performance) Ended up going to a different shop who rebuilt the Holley, it had a jet issue and a float issue. ALSO one of the spark plugs was not even connected properly and the others were gunked up, which was found while checking the system. How did Al's miss this? Especially the two burnt cable ends? If you don't have a Holley carb, Al's might take better care of your car.

I asked the desk perso. to "Look at my car to see if anything major was wrong" he outtight refused,…read morethat unless the car in question (due to the issues it was having) literally wasn't moving at all, he couldn't so much as lay his peepers on it. Thank his employer he didn't charge me for the visit, or so help me I'd have sued him. Tl:dr: Utterly useless humans are employed there, outright refusing to perform their service. Do not come to this shop unless you have LITERALLY (that is to say NOT Figuratively) NO other option. The WORST experience with a mechanic I have EVER had in my life.
