Veggie burrito with no cheese or sour cream. Delicious and huge! Vegan vegetarian

Great experience at Coyote Grill! We showed up a half hour before they closed, but they were very accommodating and our server was super friendly. My husband and I shared the veggie burrito and omg it was delicious and huge!! Chips & salsa and margaritas were excellent also.

Well, it looks like I got lucky finding this place so close to work! Very easy to order online which is how they direct you to do so over the phone. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Customer service was nice, the ambiance was cool and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now the food, I could consider a 10/10. Simple but just enough flavor, and same with the size of the portion. The street corn is amazing and flavorful, but I do feel that they should use sweet corn instead of the plain kind they use initially. And the price- well you can't beat it. I'll be returning again.

Nothing was left on the dish.

Arianna, our server was very attentive! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This was my first time and I felt like I was on vacation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our view was like looking at a rainbow and reminded me to breathe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The calamari tacos with the guacamole was a perfect combination to hit my mouth. And, I did eat 90% of my flan.

This is such a cozy little spot. Beautiful views. Cool staff. We came for happy hour right at 3 and the bar was already packed with regulars. We sat at a table and they let us still have happy hour, which was cool. We got the tortillas soup, and the albondigas. The soups are solid. Flavorful. Served really hot. No notes. Our server was super helpful and very attentive. They have good happy hour specials. We didn't get margs, but I imagine with so many, they have to be good. Parking is tough. Valet only. Or find a spot on the PCH. Casual. Fun. Festive. Lots of locals. A great little gem.

Booked a lunch reservation for two. The staff was nice and even though we were early we were seated quickly. They have good vegetarian/vegan options. I got the veggie fajitas and they came out steaming which is always a vibe. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great view from their patio and clean bathrooms.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll be back for sure.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Four stars for the comfortable vibe and great view.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Salsa is super good, chips could use salt though. Food is okay, not fantastic but not bad either. Tasted a little bland, could be me, but isn't that what Yelp is about...opinions? Service was good, female waitress was really nice, the gentleman we had was probably having an off day...other than that, I'd be back, would recommend.

Dayyyym! I am so pleasantly surprised by my first visit here. It is straight up on pch. There is a view to die for. Having said that, it is comfy, beachy casual which I love. No frills family friendly vibes. Great news, there is valet parking! It's only 4 dollars. Very convenient and affordable. We sat on the semi open patio. We timed it perfectly for sunset! It was beautiful. For the food, the chips and salsa were fresh and delicious! They have happy hour everyday from 3-6. Only 8.50 for house margaritas. The food was discounted a few dollars too for happy hour. You can not beat the prices! The show stopper was the crispy shredded beef tacos. The meat was juicy, flavorful and like stew. I loved the shredded beef!!!! We also had beans, rice, salad and enchiladas. We all loved our food. The service was quick, friendly and attentive. We may become regulars.

Really good enchiladas! The staff was amazing. The hostess was so sweet and even my waitress. Will be back!

We enjoyed those calamari tacos and a cheese enchiladas. The service was very nice and very helpful. The view is amazing. The food looks wonderful, so colorful and displayed with full portions. I do believe if I were an East Coast person, the food would have tasted incredible. I think the food is bland and lacks flavor. It looks great, but doesn't have that passion or flare of a professional chef making it. It is just Okay.

Coyote Grill is my favorite spot for birthdays, celebrations, Sunday brunch, or just a random Tuesday. Their patio is to die for and we always try to get a reservation for it, sometimes we even see whales :) Service is quick and their staff is happy to please. My parents love their breakfast as they have both Mexican and American options, but their dinner menu is fabulous too!

I used to come to Coyote Grill all the time after taking my kids to the beach. Although many years have passed, and my kids are full grown adults, Coyote Grill continues to be a great choice at the beach for a fantastic meal. I followed the reviews and got the fruit plate to share - which was so fresh and delicious! I had never been here for breakfast, and it did not disappoint. It was delicious! I got a carne asada tamale with eggs and it was fabulous! We had a 15 minute wait because we wanted to be out on the patio. Valet parking is a great deal and makes it stress free in not having to worry about parking. Service was fantastic. I can't wait to go back soon! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The photo is the view from the patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This is such a casual cute restaurant with the best view on the patio. I made reservations and requested the patio specifically. Parking is valet $4 cash only. Service was fast & friendly. I got the chicken enchilada & the cheese enchilada, both great. Came with rice and beans. Also ordered a side of tortilla soup. Everything came out hot & was tasty. Would recommend this spot to anyone!

Ask the Community - Coyote Grill

    Any Taco Tuesday specials?

When will you start offering lobster?

Hello Katy! Generally for us it would be the first or second Wednesday in October. Once we hear from our fisherman, we'll have a better idea. FYI, once it does become available you could call us in advance and reserve them!

    Is there parking available?

We have a $2 cash only valet lot provided by a separate company. Everything else is street parking!

    Is there valet parking?

I have seen valet parking available, but not used it. We park up the street and walk.

Do they have Puerto Nuevo style lobster?

    Is this place dog friendly?

No it is not dog friendly

What time do you start serving lunch?

We serve lunch starting at 11:30 daily.

    Have you reopened yet?

    Yes we are open!

What are the breakfast hours? And will y'all be open in August?

They're open now! Usually breakfast is served until noon.

Is this place under construction right now?

Hi Dimitriy! Yes, unfortunately we are closed still for construction we were hoping to open for Memorial Day weekend but we ran into some issues with the building. We are…

Beans taste homemade and traditionally made. Salsa had a little kick to it but not too spicy. Ordered the parrillada; the chicken was tender and moist. The shredded pork carnitas were crispy yet juicy. The steak was perfectly medium rare and tender to eat. Shrimp was cooked beautifully and firm. The corn was cold but it was still good! Came with a side of onions and jalapenos. The flour tortillas were taco sized. Great shareable plate for 2-3 people. Had the virgin margarita and it was one of the best virgin drinks I've had. Not just a bunch of sugar and soda water like other mocktails. It had freshly made syrups and with chunks of cucumbers. So refreshing!

The sign said to wait to be seated, but my dad waited around for about 10 minutes without seeing anyone at the host stand. The bartender told him it was okay to go outside & find an available table, so we weren't trying to skip any rules...we were just following what we were told. When we finally spoke with the hostess, she explained she was trying to manage multiple tables, which was understandable, but the communication could have been a little clearer. Once we sat down, everything was great. The drinks were delicious, we enjoyed a quick snack with chips and guacamole, & the service was friendly & efficient. We didn't try the food, but it seems like a nice spot for a casual drink or quick bite. Overall, we had a good experience and would come back.

Would 100% come back. That said, I'd admit, a certain DTLA Michelin restaurant has set my expectations of south of border seafood cuisine a bit too high (starts with H) so I'll try to be reasonable. Also the items picked were surprisingly huge and i was too full to finish my meal. 9/10 The chips tasted delicious, bean dip was something new and delicious, salsa was fresh and bold, and the roasted pepper salsa was surprisingly not too spicy, really good. 8/10 trio de cheviche. Good assortment and size of the dish. Shrimp was ok, I felt it was missing something, octopus was good, my personal favorite was the marinaded tuna. 8/10 seafood chile relleno, not a bad assortment, sides were good, large portions of food. 10/10 Coco rita, this margarita is definitely something different! And pairs with everything amazingly, I love it, and this is coming from someone who normally hates coconut. 9/10 they brought out this chocolate cake I dont see on the menu but they will if it's your birthday, but in my case to celebrate my new engagement. Super moist. The place is really loud ambient wise when busy which was around 8pm which is normal of any popular place but after near closing around 9:30 is pretty quiet and casual on a Sunday. Total bill after a 21% tip ran me total $165 and I had leftovers. Free chips, 1 large giant appetizer, and 1 large entree could potentially feed 3 people if you don't eat a lot. If you don't wanna have leftovers, go easy on the chips but that's gonna be hard.

The flavor profile here is definitely a bit smokier/charred compared to the Taco Stand spots down south, especially compared to La Jolla. There are slight variations in how some of the food is cooked and prepared, but it's not bad at all -- just different. If you come in expecting an exact replica, you may notice the differences. If you treat this location as its own thing, it's honestly really solid. Huge shoutout to Carlos at the register for the excellent customer service. We ordered food both for here and to-go, and everything was packed separately exactly how we asked. We also made a few modifications after placing the order, and Carlos went out of his way to track down our ticket and write the changes on it himself to make sure everything came out correctly. Food was still great, service was amazing, and we'd definitely come back again.

At the La Jolla location you can see the staff making the tortillas + churros and this location the tortillas were packaged. I'm not sure if they use the same ingredients but this could have changed the flavor profile. They were still yummy don't get me wrong but they just weren't as good as I remember them. I ordered chips and guac as well and the staff forgot to include it in my order so I had to go up to the counter another time which was quite a hassle given it's a very busy restaurant with the line out the door the entire time I was there. The salsa selection is rather nice especially when most restaurants are trying to cut down on salsa options + use the lower quality ingredients. You can tell the ingredients in the salsas were high + they even have a few creamy options which is hard to see at most Mexican restaurants these days. I do think the guac was a little limey but it wasn't bad when you added it to the tacos. If you go I would recommend you go with zero expectations of eating inside as there are about 5-6 tables + waiting a long time for your food. The beach is 10 steps away so you can always take your food to the beach too!
