The place does not meet my 85 character minimum requirement for review. And the food is cardboard.

Proper Patty ($11) - This burger comes with two smash patties, both of which are heavily salted and somewhat crisped up - the pictures from other people make it seem like they cook long enough to get lacy caramelized edges, but it's not quite to that point. Instead, the burgers, while not moist and fatty, aren't dried out either, and give a great beefy flavor. The burger sauce adds some tangy sweetness, and some pickles on top adds even more sweetness, but a very fresh crunch. It's otherwise pretty standard with the lettuce and tomato. A solid smashburger. (4/5) Fries ($5) - These are fried enough to give a crust on the potatoes, but not enough for the fries to be come crisp. Still, they aren't floppy, so while not entirely crisp, these are still good for eating especially since the insides are nice and fluffy. They are salted a lot, which combined with the salty dip (we went with the Bud's Sauce), equals a parched mouth after eating. I think they actually use a lime salt or something as I can detect a bit of citrus flavor. The Bud's Sauce is a nice mayochup mixture with I think a bit of smokiness from paprika and some chopped onion. It's sweet, tangy, and salty. (4/5) Overall Burger Buds serves some nice classic smashburgers! It's great for a visit while in town for a quick and easy meal.

My twist cone and fries were perfect (fries were SO fresh). Parking is tight (tow away zones in their lot), but street parking worked fine. Worth pulling over for. I get takeout about once a month from here as part of our weekly rotation of "I don't feel like cooking tonight." Typically we get a hamburger and a cheeseburger, fries and onion rings. We split the very large portion of fries and the onion rings as well. Last night the guest in front of me ordered the jalapeño burger and I thought "Jalapeño? I didn't know they had that!" It's listed on the menu, but when you go to a place for a long time (for us, since the early 1990s), you kinda stop looking at the menu. So I tried the jalapeño burger, and I very pleased that they didn't just throw raw slices on the burger but instead grilled them a bit. It packed some heat, but without that raw grassy taste that you get from an uncooked pepper. The fries are usually quite quite good, and the onions rings can be a bit too well-done, so we ask for them "not too crispy!" and they're much easier to eat. You can get sauces such as ranch dressing for the onion rings at an extra cost. Other condiments like mustard, mayo, and ketchup are either on the burger itself or come as a free add-on. They have bison chili, and I've always wanted to try it, so I'll get that next time. The place is like one of the old-time burger shacks that you found on the side of the US highway system back in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, which makes sense, because the main drag through North Bend used to be US 10 (which is replaced by I-90 3 miles to the south). It has a bare bones inside seating area, a front patio that is great in the summer but yikes it's cold in the winter, and their public bathrooms are available only from the outside. Prices tend to be midrange to a bit higher than a chain fast food place, but the food is better IMO and you're supporting a local business.
